watched the first dr who special episode and while there were a few lines that made me cringe, i do think a little bit of cringe is a reasonable price to pay for seeing a black trans girl get a starring role in the longest-running and arguably the most famous sci-fi show in history

consider: the Doctor and the Mott-Noble-Temple family playing board games/ party games, especially if Donna and the Doctor get very intense/ competitive about it (see: Catherine and David on Graham Norton trying to remember their lines from Much Ado)

Oh my god they'd be the fucking WORST to play board games with. If you count big Finish as canon (which like all of Doctor Who, it's canon if I like it 💖) they've played backgammon together and the doctor cheats when he's losing. Monopoly gets BANNED from the household bc it's the closest The Doctor and Donna have come to straight up murdering each other.

I finally bought the second set of ten/Donna big finish audios, so expect me to be off on my nonsense real bad.

Anyway, in One Mile Down Donna offers to get the Doctor a hat that says “kiss me” to cheer him up, and when he says he doesn’t like hats she says it would suit him.

Doctor: "Ooooo, can I try your ice cream?"

Donna: "Yeh, but it's pear."

Thinking about David + Catherine’s performances as the duplicate Doctor and Donna in Wild Blue Yonder. They are so good portraying the underlying soullessness in the duplicates. Sometimes it’s obvious (whenever they aren’t trying to seem real), but it’s the subtle parts that really shine. The unnatural way fake!Doctor sits in the orange… goo computer room… even the emotional moments seem false in a way that isn’t immediately apparent. I didn’t catch it at all in my first watch, but now I know which ones which, I can see the subtle differences.

I also remember thinking it was weird that fake!Donna was so stilted in the first scene we saw her in after the fake!Doctor was seemingly very natural. Of course, by that point, the audience knows something is going on, so there’s no need to pretend like fake!Donna could be real… but then I realized! The duplicates rely on fast thinking/adrenaline to learn their targets. So the reason fake!Doctor is more real seeming is because the Doctor is already thinking quickly and hyped up on adrenaline (when is he not?). The fake!Doctor is already more complete fake!Donna before any of the scaring takes place! Genius! And David and Catherine captured that perfectly in their performances.

the thing about the 60th specials is that before they were released I used to see tendonna content that meant ten and donna were giffed or whatever but now it's like tendonna as in people are shipping them and it makes it so hard to blacklist because i want to see content about them but not like *that* 😒😒

Honestly I feel like a 🌀fusion between CP and DT would be interesting because of how different they are (CP more the digital artificial side whilst DT is incredibly Melty and organic) 🌀

An unholy fusion if I've ever seen one XD Presenting, CT! Short for Code!TERMINATED! He's unhinged and prone to obsession.

His still mostly resembles CP with DT influences, but the binary says [TERMINATED], repeated over and over. And like DT, his eye can shift between his sockets, and his skull is detached from his body.
