Am I a daughter of Delta Nu? No.
Soon to be a fiancรฉe?? Definitely not.
Has a man chosen me? Nope.
Can my life begin today? Absolutely! (If I put my mind to it)
Make a happy home? I can sure try!
Not waste hard earned wage? Well, my 0 hours contract job don't put me in very often and I'm literally only on for 2&ยฝ hours next week so :/ I don't like spending big amounts of money, that shit is scary. My dad's bank account is safe :)
Strive not to look my age? I already look like a 12 year old with my hair tied up, I think I'm fine.

@aspen-carter started this and I wanna do it too :)
Get to know the writer.
Pen name(s): Now realising I don't really have one? I'm lolololola on ao3 but that's only because i was listening to the song by The Kinks.
Age: 21
College/university degree(s): 1 month from finishing my undergrad in Politics and IR with History.
Favorite book growing up: Anything by Roald Dahl but my favourites were Matilda and The Witches, and the Narnia books by CS Lewis.
First โ€œgrown-upโ€ book you remember reading: The White Queen by Phillipa Gregory.
Favorite novel(s):ย The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald, The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson and Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel.
Favorite published writer(s): Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen and Hilary Mantel.
Favorite book(s) of poetry: Not a big poetry fan but I do love a bit of John Keats.
Favorite "children's book"(s):ย The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.
Favorite movie/show adaptation(s):ย The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Dracula (1992) and Wolf Hall (2015).
What do you listen to when you write?ย Maestro Djawadi ofc, HotD and GoT soundtracks, actually there's this edit on Youtube of a few different Targaryen themes, would highly recommend that. I also like to make my own playlists for different works or characters, which usually feature a lot of Hozier, Ethel Cain and Lana Del Rey. But also, I get distracted really easily so if Iโ€™m trying to concentrate just silence, or the intro of Genesis by Grimes slowed on a 20 min loop (thatโ€™s not a joke).
What do you drink when you write?ย Nothing in particular, water, iced coffee, iced tea, anything with lots of ice apparently. Actually I chew gum a lot when I write.
Your favorite piece that you've ever written:ย Iโ€™m far from a magnum opus but I love the first chapter of Karma is a God and Chapter 3 of Our Souls are Bound (which is a huge shame because Iโ€™ve almost abandoned that fic whoops). And My Heart Belongs to Daddy has been so fun to work on.
Favorite fanfiction you've read recently: Currently in love with Now I'm Covered in You by @inthedayswhenlandswerefew, The Seamstress and the Sailor by @assortedseaglass, Heaven Knows (I'm not getting over you) by @lightningandfireinmybones and anything by @squirmhoney.
no pressure tags: @blackdreamspeaks @babygirlyofthevale @xfancyuu @eyelinerandcigarettes @bouncehousedemons and anyone who wants to do it too! tag me i'm nosy af

Strawberry Hospital Q&A transcribed <3 PART 3
Tumblr media
Q: whats your favourite metal song if you have one N: "favourite metal song of all time is impossible to choose but only recently I have been obsessed with this since I heart it earlier this month"
Q: holoparasite is my favorite songs and I was wondering what inspired you to make it N: "simple repetitive gloomy looped music like the yume nikki soundtrack! I wrote it in like an hour which basically never happens for Strawberry Hospital tracks" Q: wat is cherish about :l? love ur music btw<3 N: "desperate attempts at avoiding abandonment and going as far altering your own identity to be what somebody else might prefer... (pro tip do not do this ^^) I wanted the cute electropop instrumentation to contrast the somewhat hopeless subject matter" Q: R u ever doing a show in Houston again? I loved seeing u live! N: "without a doubt I will be back! my favorite photo of that performance is currently my bandcamp banner actually" Q: What synthesizer, sampler, etc. do you dream of having? Old/new, common/rare... N: "need a full rack of ROMplers, then I will die happy. I already have my beloved SC-88 but would adore an Akai or Yamaha module in addition ! somehow I do not own a physical microKorg either?" Q: also do you watch sailor moon and if so whos your favorite character<3 N: "when I was 4 years old I begged my mother to purhacse a VHS copy of one of the episodes judging only from the cover art style, I haven't seen much since then but that probably caused me to develop an adoration for the magical girl genre long term... wait is this question because my name is Neptune...!" Q: azure is literally my favorite song ever๐Ÿ˜ญis there a reason u made the song??/meaning? N: "awe I'm overjoyed that you appreciate Azure! there were countless musical influences that were poured into this one like cyrbergrind and darkstep and glitch pop, etc. I wanted harsh instrumentation layered with dense sweet melodies and harmonies lyrically, the song is a metaphor for drowning in an abyssal river of your own tears, and imagining a single angelic individual saving you or at least accompanying you in your demise it's also about grief, mutual forgiveness, and is dedicated to someone specific" Q: Hihi! Your wonderful music has brought so much comfort to me. :3 what are your favourite anime series? N: "ah!! thank you very much... I received a few instances of this question so I'll consolidate them into one response current top 5 favorites (excluding feature length animated films): - Kaiba - Madoka Magica - Haibane Renmei - Alien 9 - Princess Tutu"
Q: I really loved I miss you so long, can you tell more in depth of it pls N: "an older favorite! that one is primarily written about lethargy, escapism, and being a self depricating NEET after high school graduation (I'm reformed now as that was many years ago lol)" Q: have you ever seen the covers of the songs like Memento? (Examples: velvet by lilac) N: "yes I have mixed feelings about that specific cover. that said, I have enjoyed many of lilac's original productions and I have listened to most other covers of my songs from other musicians. it is a deeply flattering gesture" THAT'S ALL. I hope you all enjoyed reading this, I'm a huge fan of Neptune's music and I really wanted to do this to keep a log of strawberry hospital's Q&A in a somewhat more permanent way/digital archive way. Lots of love to you all xo emotionalhxc signing out :3

thank you for the tag @finnglas! <3 Starting a new post because the other chain is getting looooooong
Last song: I wanted to say The Rockrose and the Thistle - The Amazing Devil because that's been looping in my head nonstop, but Spotify informs me I'm in the middle of listening to Miquella's Haligtree from the Elden Ring soundtrack lol
Favourite colour: Big blue fan. Also big fan of all the "royal"/super deep/dusky colours
Sweet/Savoury/Spicy: hm. My spice and sweet tolerance have both dipped sharply in the last year or so, but in my heart I will always be spicy <3
Currently watching: sort of The Strain (it was my binge watch while I was recovering post-op, now I'm mostly poking at it because I want to see how it ends but Critical Analysis Brain won't shut up and let me simply watch it). Delicious in Dungeon when the new episodes drop.
Relationship status: single
Current obsession: Still in post-hyperfixation hangover from Viking history, but the folklore special interest is currently latched onto black dog folklore. Also analysing the ableism, racism and misogyny that's baked into The Strain and how this undercuts the message that the show is trying to craft (there are multiple abandoned posts in my notes and Tumblr drafts on this rn whoops)

Would like to give a big thank you to @elliotly and @pyrotechnicarus for making Adamandi and TAOPP.
Context, first time I watched the two shows I was struggling to figure out college and my future. Iโ€™d always wanted to go into performing arts, make plays, musicals, movies, tv shows, what have you. But I was super unsure if I even could, the theater environment I had around me growing up had the directors rejecting people from roles for not โ€œbeing biologically maleโ€ or not โ€œfitting the partโ€ due to their skin tone. Shit like that was always super discouraging, and part of the reason I quit theater for two years.
Then one night Iโ€™m sitting in my sisterโ€™s apartment in Brooklyn, just scrolling tumblr after visiting her, and I find a joke comparing We Are The Tigers and Adamandi. I got curious and decided to check it out, clicked on the tags and looked the show up on YouTube. Then I went feral and binged Adamandi and The Art Of Pleasing Princes in one sitting instead of sleeping. I had the soundtracks on loop for weeks after, just completely not normal about it.
Iโ€™m Puerto Rican and trans masc, I never in a million years thought Iโ€™d get to see people like me make stuff like that. My high school theater director wouldnโ€™t cast trans actors for anything but chorus members or as their agab, even if they had the voice for it and were on hrt, he said it โ€œdidnโ€™t workโ€. All the main roles he gave out to white students because he thought it would โ€œwork betterโ€. Then to just see stuff where the actors got to be openly queer, got to be poc, and weโ€™re actively encouraged to show those part for the roles. It changed my perspective.
Big probs to @cynopter as Vincent and (they donโ€™t have a tumblr blog to my knowledge so Iโ€™m just using the name on the cast list from the website) Miel Escamilla as Beatrix because fucking christ they were absolute delights to watch and are incredibly skilled. Asides from giving me an unholy amount of gender envy, it was also amazing to see two people who are poc and engage in gender fuckery get on stage and destroy god with their performances. Itโ€™s the first time Iโ€™ve ever seen a trans actor, let alone two gnc poc actors, be allowed to be leads in a show and have their backgrounds be part of the characters.
If I hadnโ€™t stumbled across Adamandi and TAOPP when I did Iโ€™d probably be going to trade school to become some flavor of electrician, plumber, or house painter like the rest of my family. It genuinely changed the course of my life, and I cannot thank the people who made it and participated in it enough for doing what they do and putting their hearts and souls into it. Now Iโ€™m going to one of my local colleges for two years, have a plan to head to a nearby performing arts school after thatโ€™s done, and am going to be the person who creates art for other people to see. Forgive the vagueness of where, Iโ€™m attempting to keep where I live hard to find, just know I live in New York so do have access to colleges with these sort of programs.
I have a long way to go, quitting theater and performing in general for multiple years due to various reasons did set me back a chunk, but I do have hope for the future. Iโ€™m currently working on a short film with a few of my friends, hopefully will have that out before the summer ends, and Iโ€™m also working on drafts of a play I want to make, but thatโ€™s a far way off and just a general idea right now.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for doing what you do. Managed to change the mind and life of one person with it, and I cannot put into words the good it has done, even if itโ€™s just for me.
Thanks for the killer music and stories,
-Teo

@hexsreality: ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ“บ โ€” ๐Œ๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐˜ ๐€๐’๐Š๐’
๐Ÿ˜Š โ€” any career desires?
i'm in a pretty weird place in life atm, so i guess my biggest career desire is just to figure out exactly what i want to keep doing!! (and what will actually pay me ๐Ÿ˜ฉ) most immediately, i'm hoping to get into a grad program for anthropology (focus in either media ethnography or forensic anthropology), and expand my paper into a much larger research project. i'm also hoping to get more work as a theatrical lighting technician (love me some catwalks) and expand my skillset/job opportunities by beefing up my programming skills and getting in more practical design experience.
long-term, i think i either want to grow my expertise in media ethnography & publish more papers about it, or pursue cold case + natural disaster forensic identification efforts. maybe do a dollop of lighting design. i'm very indecisive and i love many things with equal vigor, i fear.
๐Ÿ“บ โ€” favorite movie(s) and/or tv show(s)?
the world's end from edgar wright's cornetto trilogy remains one of my most BELOVED movies of all time. one of the most poignant stories i've ever seen put to film, with the cleanest and most creative narrative cohesion + scenic design + callback pay-off i've ever seen, plus a bitchin' soundtrack that syncs up beautifully with its action sequences. also, dramatic acting from thee simon pegg??? he's BRILLIANT, give him more serious roles i fucking beg of you. i never get tired of that movie. also high up on the list are annihilation, the usual suspects, and mad max fury road.
as for tv shows, i ADORE person of interest with all my heart, i have watched it far too many times and it never gets old. it's what i wrote my conference paper about!!! right behind it are nbc hannibal, westworld, midnight mass, the haunting of hill house, and bones, all of which i could watch on a loop without ever growing bored. i've also been watching a lot of ER lately, which is a great show but does emotionally damage me so bad that i'm currently on a month-long break lmao.

tagged by @scattered-storyteller - shuffle your favorite playlist and post the first five songs that come up.
i couldnโ€™t choose a favorite playlist so i chose the playlist i listen to on my morning commute! so when you listen please imagine yourself extremely sleep-deprived and sitting in traffic in a beater car on your way to a shit job :)
i think the spotify algorithm pulled this one up because i played this on loop like 10 straight times last week when i successfully got my parking fine thrown out
side effects of the current yellowjackets brain rot... what can i say i love the soundtrack to the show
actually this is a new addition to the playlist! this song is off their album that just got released a few days ago
good tune! i have sung along to this one far too vigorously too often
really good song to listen to on an early morning commute tbh. like i think this song is the most potent after sunset and before sunrise. also i tap along to the rhythm of this one on my steering wheel with an intensity usually only found in concert pianists
@lyctor @owltrifecta @mayasaura @taran-wanderer if yโ€™all feel inclined + whoever else sees this and wants to do it im mentally tagging ya (i love listening to new music soo really anyone who wants to do it PLEASE do)

Getting to know each other
Aw thank you for tagging me @udaberriwrites ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–
Last Song I Listened To: Cherry Ocean by Robert Stillman. So good
My Favourite Color: I think we're going with ultramarine blue. (not aquamarine! ppl get confused when I say ultramarine for some reason. It's the pigment made from lapis lazuli. I used to call it twilight blue.)
Last Film/Show I Watched: Great British Bake Off. I usually have it on in the background when I eat dinner or give my cat fluids. I cycle through them from season 1-now constantly (I found the earlier seasons on Roku TV!!) because it's soothing and doesn't take too much emotional investment. Even though I usually cry at the end of every episode lmao
Sweet, Savory or Spicy: sweet sweet sweet but usually after savory. spicy gives me heartburn ๐Ÿ˜…
Last Thing I Googled: St. Vincent's birth chart
My Current Obsession: I have a lot of things pulling my mind in all different directions right now and that usually ends in some kind of paralysis lol. I have a pull to adult paint by numbers (I haven't bought any yet), crocheting another doily, cross stitch, Arthur and Linus as always, Animal Crossing because I want to finish my damn islands so I can start new ones, the research paper I'm working on for a class that I want to eventually actually do and get published... yeah. I think that's the main ones. When I'm in paralysis I usually find something easy and brainless to do and right now it's playing online doll sites (currently veggie studio), just systematically going through all of the hair/clothing/color options in a loop over and over ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… colors prettyyy ๐Ÿคฉ
Last Book I Read: The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi. I know of it because of David Bowie's album by the same name. It's from 1993 and I found out years later that it was actually a soundtrack. For years I tried to rent the movie but it was British and I couldn't find it. More recently I learned it was actually a British miniseries, so I bought the dvds online and watched the first episode. It was really weird (I mean tv is hard for me on a good day) so I didn't watch any more. But from that I learned it was based on a book, which I finally bought recently, and then finally, finally read. And now I would like to go back and try to watch the dvds again, now that i understand the tone of the book (which was really interesting and hilarious, but didn't really have much of an ending) but I don't have a dvd player lol
Looking Forward to: I get to meet TJ Klune on Tuesday ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿคฉ I got all of my art printed off (god damn I should do that more often, it looks so pretty!) and plan to give them to him. Even the porn ๐Ÿซฃ Tagging anyone! I always like reading these.

Last Thing You Googled: Headless Horseman TV Show bc I couldn't remember what Sleepy Hollow was called. Before that was word translations for hw.
Dream Trip: World tour, baby! Well, actually I'd love to get a giant B&B and invite all my friends and spend a week or more living together. But a world tour's an okay second.
Anything I want right now: A nap and a hug from my mom. And then to publish cgic fics >:D

yoo could i ask for a playlist for a tallulah qsmp fictive mayhaps? she has an insatiable hunger for music it's frightening (/silly) ,, she likes soundtracks (child of light is her current fav), stuff like the oh hellos/cavetown/bears in trees, and generally cozy sorta feeling songs, plus anything lullaby-ey if that makes sense :] hope u guys are well! sorry this is a tad long or vague hhaha -โ€“๐Ÿ”‰๐ŸŒ
hello! Admittedly I rushed this a bit Iโ€™m not as sure about these as I was about ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿชถ Philโ€™s but I took a swing weโ€™ll see if I missed later I guess. I tried to include as many artists as possible so you have plenty of people to look through since you said she was a bit insatiable when it came to music! I did phone in the last few songs like the lullaby-eque ones. yeah again this was a bit of a mess on my end. Though I have been writing down songs for this for a while I didn't have an easy time narrowing down things as to what I wanted to include so at this point I've just thrown my hands in the air and declared it done now. Sorry if the playlist is messy or unsatisfactory.
Art used is by @/sallomezz on tumblr and can be found here!
Hope you find something to enjoy on the playlist or in my bonus ramblings below! -phil
okay so I kinda cheated my self imposed rule of one song per artist but in my defense I couldnโ€™t choose between Moonlight and Paperworkโ€ฆ Theyโ€™re my two favorite Fish in a Birdcage songs and I thought both were kinda fitting so oh well both of them are there.
Anywho I could go on and on and on about how I was this close to fighting myself to the death (<- hyperbolic) over this. Let's just get to other recommendations I didn't put on for one reason or another.
Starting with musicians I put on there but didn't include a song from for whatever reason:
Myxrite! My personal favorite song Now and Again doesn't look like its on Spotify at all so uh yeah I'm linking it here because I like it a lot.
Bug Hunter is on there too but he's currently in the top ten of my favorite musicians so yeah here's more suggestions! Go With The Flow and Listen to Your Mom pretty high up there in terms of my favorite songs. Making Up Words is one of my favorites lyrically (though I must say that Disco in the Panic Room is up there too), and of course I have to mention Try My Best and Slow Burn because I keep using lyrics from them to inspire drawings (that I'll never post anywhere online). Okay fuck I need to move on before I link literally every single one of his songs lol
Same as Bug Hunter, The Narcissist Cookbook is up there in terms of my favorite musician + he put the MOTH album (one of his old ones that wasn't on on youtube yet) on youtube recently so he's been in my head a lot. Ghost Stories and UNWELCOME GUESTS (warning: unwelcome guests starts with a phone ringing noise idk my friends always get surprised by it so I'm just gonna mention it in case) are rahgjagh they are so good they exist in my head rent free
Madilyn Mei has been on loop in my head cause a friend of mine. Anyway Six Legs (tippy tappy toes) and Sleeping in the Kitchen. just live in my brain now because of them lol
The actual recommendations that aren't just more songs from folk on the playlist already:
I Fight Dragons! I fucking love them! Their music tends to have techy/8-bit noises and they're a bit more on the rock side of things but their stuff is really good! Good Morning Sunlight and Oh The Places You'll Go... They are the most <3 to me forever... Sunny Afternoon too... God I love IFD I need to make my friends listen to them with me more
If you like IFD you may also like Jonathan Coulton or the portal song guy as my friends know him lol. Nobody Loves You Like Me or Now I Am an Arsonist or really anything from the Artificial Heart Album is always my go to for showing people besides the songs from Portal (Still Alive and Want You Gone) that my friends know.
Similar to IFD, a lot of Going Spaceward's songs have techy noise in the like proper releases, but his youtube has a lot of acoustic versions of his songs that don't have those. His covers are good but really most of his music is just funky. Uh since I will absolutely not narrow this down in any timely fashion I'm just going to link the entire Can You Hear It Album and uh Count Past 23.
Joseph Dubay is a musician I only got into like a few months ago but I really like his stuff, kinda similar vibes to what i was going for with this playlist but a lot of his songs just didnt fit the vibe so I didn't feel like adding them. That being said I am obliged to tell absolutely everyone I talk about music with to listen to Pastel Goth and 4evr so yeah.
Completely different vibe but San Fermin may be of interest to y'all! Astronaut and The Woods are the ones I listen to most from them but everything about their music just scratches the brain itch for me. Their stuff is indie rock which is kinda in the genres of the bands you mentioned!
A bit of a different suggestion but since you mentioned her liking soundtracks AZALI might be a cool youtube channel to check out! They make short songs in FL Studio and idk I'll be honest I don't listen to soundtracks or things like you mentioned in that part of your ask but I do listen to every upload AZALI makes and I think they're all pretty neat. The songs are all like a minute or two long but I like to just put them on loop when I'm writing. Truth, Violence, Warmth is my go to for writing for this specific project, but Mechanical God was how I found their channel and I'm just fond of City of Shattered Glass so there those three are my suggestions.

Tag Meme
Thank you for the tag, @banachtarskiparadox! I don't do these memes often bc a lot of them make me go "and why do you want to know this about me?" but I'm always up for screaming about some of my favourite pieces of media!
A scent you love:
Grapefruit. My current signature is Zara Vetiver Pamplemousse layered with Kerosene Summer of '84.
Something you're looking forward to this week:
Been watching Arcane with some of my besties who haven't seen it, and we need to go through the last three episodes.
A book you are currently reading:
I've been AWFUL at reading books as an adult ;_; I've had This Is How You Lose the Time War, Gideon the Ninth, and TAZ graphic novel (The 11th Hour, my favourite arc) sitting on my bedside table since summer and I've barely made a dent in the former. I need to get to them sometime soon.
A game you're currently playing:
I've been on a bit of a gaming tear lately and got through some really good indie titles!
Outer Wilds - the game I beat and then made everyone I know play it too because I needed someone to talk to about it. This is one of those games that everyone reccs as "don't look up anything about it just play it blind trust me" and I find it to be a bit unfair to people who are not into certain types of gameplay, so I'm gonna recommend it to you in a way that's equally honest and non-spoilery:
It's a space exploration game in which you are a budding astronaut setting off on your first journey in your small solar system. It's entirely non-linear and you are welcome to craft your own path in visiting several distinct planets and other celestial bodies, while trying to uncover the mysteries of a civilisation that inhabited the system before you, through collecting pieces of written lore. You have to fly a ship to get to places, and while it takes some getting used to, it is very intuitive. And, if you like time loops, this game has one. If any of what I said sounds attractive to you, I implore you to play it, it is quite genuinely life- and/or game-changing.
American Arcadia - it's The Truman Show meets Severance meets Defunctland: the game. A 2.5D runner/puzzle game with a neat 70s aesthetic and a story that takes a pleasantly unique direction.
Chants of Sennaar - a game about being an interpreter in what is essentially the tower of Babel. It's a really novel but well-executed concept that doesn't get old during the course of the game and makes up for a (imo) rather basic storyline. It's the kind of game that has you take notes as you go, except the note-taking mechanic is already build into it.
Cocoon - a very neat puzzle game with a lovely art style and inception-like mechanics that may leave you stumped for a minute or to but then make you feel like a genius when you finally solve the puzzle.
Night in the Woods - a story-heavy game about coming of age with light puzzle, platformer, and rhythm game elements, fantastic dialogue and the most charming art style and animation.
All of the above titles also have great soundtracks, OW and NitW especially.
The most recent movie you watched:
Oh man, I don't watch that many movies. It has to be The Killer, which was remarkable in its mediocrity. It's fun as you get through it, and then it ends and makes you go "wait that's it?"
A show you've been watching or listening to:
Now here I can recc you some good ones! I got really into Taskmaster this past year and have been watching the New Zealand version, after being a bit reluctant to get into it. Fortunately it's just as funny as the UK version, it its own "man, they get wild on kiwi tv" way.
Another show I really liked lately was Culprits! Heist is my favourite genre of media, and this show delivered on the "someone in the crew is a traitor" storyline and then some. It also has a diverse cast, with a queer black lead, and a lovely wrap to the fist season that won't leave you without answers should it suffer...you know, that thing that happens to all shows these days.
I will also take an opportunity to plug Dungeons and Daddies*, a rowdy, horny, violent podcast for grown-ups, and my favourite audio show for the fourth year and counting. It's a real play podcast that's light on the rules and heavy on "yes and", and in its first season tackles issues of toxic masculinity, generational trauma, and what it means to be a father. If you liked TAZ Balance, give it a try.
*Not a BDSM podcast. Occasionally a BDSM podcast.
Your favourite season:
Early summer. The night air in my hometown has a scent I wish I could bottle up and put as the first answer instead.
Something you've learned recently:
Whatever it is I did, I have forgotten it by now.
Have you had any water recently?
Just now, to wash down my meds (this is your reminder to take yours.)
Tagging @canonicallyshort @orangeykay @joybones and YOU!
