I think that in a PMD Explorers of Sky adjacent situation, Chat would be the protagonist and Magical John would be the partner character. Chat would wake up on the beach with amnesia and see Magical John passed out next to them. They poke him with a stick and when it turns out he's alive, they initially assume he's in the same situation as they are. But it turns out he just got mugged by the Team Skull equivalent for his Relic Fragment, and his memories are totally intact, lol.

They'd have to talk to Cupcake on Magical John's behalf to help him join the guild because everyone's too afraid of him to hear him out when he tries to ask alone, lmao.

Cupcake would be the cheerful Guild Deputy, and I Want Die would be the intimidating Guild Leader that everyone but Cupcake is afraid to talk to. He looks scary, but he's actually really caring and compassionate on the inside! And the other Miitopia party members would be the guild ensemble! :D

Jefferson would be a Piplup, of course, and I think Gilbert would be an Impidimp. Not sure about the rest. Lemme know if any of you have any ideas! :)

Random Failtopia thoughts

(Some of these are new, some of these are not, most aren't canon)

"Pyrotechnic" is a perfectly viable ship name for Lanchi.

Orion struggled to differentiate between Slapo's autism and Shrimp's ADHD, hence the brick for a gift.

Bill being the Cat class initially is never explained, but we know he met Chat right before his first onscreen appearance, and they're obsessed with a man in the Cat class, so the dots connect for it to be Chat who convinced Bill to take up the class.

Chi's illiteracy in S1 probably means she didn't know how to spell anyone's name, especially Pirahnyawn's.

Not one person ever questions the massive circles, grey skin, and complete lack of eye contact that make up Bo's face, because Miitopia faces are usually that fucked-up.

The reason the Dark Lord needed a ghost specifically to assassinate Mar was because the Chef himself is a ghost (Dark Curse), and only a ghost can kill another ghost.

Bo and Rose being immediate family is impossible, but Rose being a descendant of Bo is not, under the assumption that despite not having children herself, Bo's bloodline didn't die with her.

The only three characters to have a canonical dynamic with Slapo are Orion, Mar, and Bo.

All we know about Chat's backstory is that they came from the Otherworld, and are obsessed with Failboat. The only big thing Failboat did in the Otherworld was the S1 final boss fight, which ended in a huge explosion. It's entirely possible that this explosion is what disrupted the Otherworld faces, to the point they formed Chat.

Erica likes to cut things short, but when she's around Bo, she keeps launching into long rambles about how great she is. These are the only times she feels like she can let her thoughts loose, since Bo did just that in the greenhouse by revealing her darkest secret.

On a similar note, Erica's past keeps being thrown back in her face, while Bo can never get her past back, no matter how hard she tries.

Due to Zone having both pink and black appearances, there may or may not be two Zones. That, or Friend's a good enough hat maker to alter Zone's colouring themselves. Considering her passion for his clothing, it's probably the latter.

Were it not for the S2 Greenhorne Arc, Hank would probably have a similar amount of screentime to Slapo.

Marion is a semi-canon ship, by the definition of one party canonically having romantic feelings toward the other, but whether Orion returns Mar's feelings is made comedically unclear.

Chi has inconsistent opinions on spicy food throughout the series, maybe because her fire obsession gets to the point that she has extremely high standards for what's spicy enough.

Rose holds her fan in the specific way she does to hide the mole on her face, something she's grown to hate because it sets her apart from the image of Rosalina.

"Deko" is not his real name, he was probably given Izuku Midoriya at birth, but his new name had to come from somewhere. That place may have been the lab where he was experimented on. The project name may have been along the lines of "DEK-0".

The lab experiment thing also makes it really funny that the only two people he really bonds with are the Scientists of the series.

Shrimp's in-universe fandom could very well be toxic. There are definitely people who are a little too interested in finding out where that 'mysterious' chip on her tooth came from.

Bill is the only character who consistently calls out Chat for their reckless behaviour. In other words, he's the one who moderates Chat.

If Kronkui didn't control who joined the team, TFFM would be down six members (Bob, Smuk, Deko, Rose, Yawn, Joker). TI, on the other hand, would only be down three members (Orion, Failboat, Chat).

Chi gets very protective when enemies are close to her allies in S1, and in parallel, Erica gets very protective when enemies are close to her allies in S2, especially if that ally is Chi.

Despite Failica being everything that they aren't, the first ship ever concocted in Failtopia was Smukle Bob.

again . they are Separated here . they r different guys with different mindsets . and because of that the curse decides 2 jump 2 the conclusion that sage never actually gave a shit about him and rebby and only brought them back so theyd leave everyone alone . however rebby loves sage like a fucking father and is like Where Would I Be Without This Dude

when rebby actually starts like . recovering ((learning 2 love himself putting the past behind him etc etc)) his curse side decides 2 go BOO !!!!!!! MENTAL ILLNESS JUMPSCARE and like . starts invading his dreams and trying 2 convince him 2 Fucking Kill sage 4 “””lying 2 them””” . ofc rebby sees this as complete bullshit and doesnt listen but his curse side is like I Have My Ways . so he starts taking control of rebby 2 try and get sage out of the picture and guess what ???? it ends up fucking WORKING

obv rebby is fucking Devastated . sage was the only shoulder he had 2 lean on . also he was also trying 2 improve his image and was dojng well but this just like totally undid all of his progress .

and after that theres a bunch of bs where he tries 2 redeem himself in a bujch of different ways INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED 2 him trying 2 gain edls trust 2 see if he could help him with the shit hes going thru . btw it Barely works and rebby only chose edl because he was one of the only people that actually knew him 4 more than 5 seconds other than sage . id go into more detail about that but its still in progress LMAO

extra note a Lot of this is projection . like rebby being me and his curse side being The Illnesses and how healing feels impossible 2 score with how nagging it all is . but also just because i love putting my favorite characters in The Hell Pit

Billy would totally recreate himself and Steve in Miitopia alongside the entire nerd brigade. Their miis would “accidentally,” “totally unintentionally” fall in love. He prommies he didn’t even know miis could fall in love (As if that wasn’t in every ad at the 3Ds versions launch.) “Guys I swear I just remade the entire party in Miitopia to see the crazy shit happen, me and Steve just… had to share a room most nights… because there was no one else I could pair us up with.”

(Also ends up getting incredibly invested in the main story’s plot and ends up “mentally planning out a story that only vaguely resembles the game and character dynamics he accidentally created.” So basically a thin veneer for imaging himself to be adventurer boyfriends with his crush.)

Steve is a Sims 4 girlie. Tries his hand at recreating Billy perfectly in the character creator for hours. Makes several practice sims to really get a feel for it. Downloads as many mods as needed. Pulls up entire reference images of Billy he may or may not display on a second monitor solely bought for that purpose. Realizes that in the euphoria of trying to recreate Billy in the Sims, he completely and utterly forgot about his own sim. Lives in utter shame. Squirrels his Sims 4 save away in files hidden beneath files. A labyrinth he himself sometimes forgets. Sometimes has to reluctantly search up “sims 4” in his search bar. Curses game developers for never figuring out how to make things look just right. His sims only have an 75% resemblance rate to the real deal.

When Billy finds out about it he just gets pissy and corrects Steve’s mistakes for 3 hours. Completely and utterly fucks that shit up nasty style in the process. Lives in shame
