omg can i ask for florist!robin headcanons?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robin Buckley Headcanons: Florist!Robin
such a fucking sweetheart omg.
every single time she takes you on a date she's got a bouquet in hand.
her love language/ communication is through flowers.
when she asked you to be her girlfriend she gave you a bouquet of daisies, red carnations, red tulips, white lilies and appleblossoms.
daisies: I love you truly.
red carnations: my heart aches for you.
red tulips: I declare my love.
appleblossoms: I prefer you above all.
(sourced from Google, probably incorrect. let me know if that's wrong)
loves when you wear floral print anything.
floral dresses? love. floral blouse? love. flower hair accessories? love.
gives you a beautiful silver necklace with a simple rose pendant for your first anniversary.
I always struggle with strong smells, and because of that most perfumes and flowers are overwhelming.
so she 100% customises and makes you perfumes and scents tailored to your taste and personality.
lives above her florist shop in a little apartment, it looks like a walk in greenhouse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these type of vibes).
has a cat, called buttercup, had that flower cat tree that everyone in tiktok has.
ugh I need.
thrifts all her clothes and is so good at sewing and just various arts and crafts.
florist! robin is such a climate activist.
her plants are her babies, and so is buttercup. and if you have a cat you know how cats like to attack plants.
it's chaos.

Reviewing Horse Picrews - Part 1
Check out: Part 2 here, Part 3 here
A brief review of every horse Picrew dollmaker I could find! (The small exception being any generic MLP G4 pony makers.)
I'll be trying to create an either sunbleached black / seal brown / liver chestnut horse in each one (my favourite coats), as well as one or two more exciting horse designs, showcasing the options.
(These Picrews are created by people in their free time without getting paid, so let's remember that and respect the artists!) ------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Horse Designer by shadowscar00 Rating: 🥕🥕🥕⚫⚫ 3/5 carrots + tasty apples 🍎🍏 A neat little horse maker! Decent variety to create different realistic coats, and some fantasy colour options too. Enjoyable and cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ 🐴horsesona maker🐴 by thereisteainmyshoes Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 5/5 carrots + gold star ⭐ This one has amazing variety. Horse expressions, colours and styles, accessories and details, backgrounds and bonus effects. Really great for both cute regular horsies and humanoid ones. My only minor criticism is that the brown nose and brown mane colours don't have a match... other than that I love it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Equine Creator Vol. 1 by The.LastValkyrie Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕⚫ 4/5 carrots + epic flames 🔥🔥🔥 There's a ton of options here, both realistic and fantasy! The reason it's not a full 5/5 is because the experience is a bit confusing, it doesn't use the built-in colour option system and the thumbnails can be hard to understand. But if you fiddle with it for a bit you can make very cool horses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Horse Maker by TTMVStaff Rating: 🥕🥕🥕⚫⚫ 3/5 carrots + shiny sparkle ✨ This is apparently a maker for an RP called Through The Misty Valley. There's a decent amount of realistic options, definitely enough to make a pretty horse! This one is also a little confusing with thumbnails and not using the built-in colour system. The backgrounds look suspiciously like AI imo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Foal maker by TTMVStaff Rating: 🥕🥕🥕⚫⚫ 3/5 carrots + baby bonus 🍼💘 Pretty much same as above but foal version. The backgrounds again look suspiciously like AI. But, the foals are pretty cute and there are decent customisation options for realistic coats! (The "free lineart" credit in these makes me think the lineart artist may not have had anything to do with the Picrews, as a note.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Handheld Horse Production Farm by 木兎 Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕⚫ 4/5 carrots + sweet pudding 🍮 Make a little horse that you could hold in your hand! There aren't a ton of options here, but the horses are very cute and huggable. This one also doesn't use the built-in colour system, but the thumbnails are easy enough to grasp quickly, so it wasn't a problem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Horse OC maker by BeelYourself (Picrew user PorcelainBee) Rating: 🥕🥕🥕⚫⚫ 3/5 carrots + fun lollipop 🍭 Many realistic options for coat colour and details. There's only one option for mane and tail style, and no accessories or backgrounds, and it was a bit confusing that thumbnails use words instead of images (as a visual person - and it makes it less accessible for different languages). But, the horses look cool!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ 46-style Favourite Horse Maker by n046 Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕⚫ 4/5 carrots + teddybear 🧸 This one is adorable, another one where the design makes up for the slight lack of options for coat details and such. It doesn't use the built-in colour system, but was easy enough to use. I want to hug them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Stick Ponies by Sodateru Rating: 🥕🥕⚫⚫⚫ 2/5 carrots + pens and crayons ✏️🖍️ The creator's note says that it's mostly a Twilight Sparkle clone maker right now, which is pretty true based on there only being one mane and tail style. But there are lots of colours to choose from and different hair colour effects, so you can still make a cute little stick pony.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Race Horse Maker by Ninjinfactory Rating: 🥕🥕⚫⚫⚫ 2/5 carrots + a nice flower 🌼 It's a pretty simple one, not that many options to choose from, but the expressions are charming so it's still a cute horse. It also doesn't make use of the built-in colour system and the thumbnails could be hard to see, but since there weren't that many options, it was still easy to use.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Wasteland Pony Dress Up Game by uhohkiya Rating: 🥕🥕⚫⚫⚫ 2/5 carrots + crispy bacon 🥓 I'm not sure if this is for a fandom or the creator's original setting, but you get to pick a few options for dressing up 3 different horses, like the simpler kind of old character dressup games. The horses are cute, but there isn't much to customise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Anthro Pony Maker by BabyBunnyBab Rating: 🥕🥕🥕⚫⚫ 3/5 carrots + waffles 🧇 It's hard to make a regular-looking horse in this one, but if you want to make a colourful anthro horse with fangs, you're in the right place! It partially doesn't and partially does use the built-in colour system, but the thumbnails were easy to understand. There are some minor artefacts around the edge of the feathering. But, overall it's a cute anthro with a decent amount of options.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Supported Horse Icon Maker☆ by Riu (in the sense, the horse you're supporting in races / being a fan of) Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕⚫ 4/5 carrots + a little treat 🍬 There aren't that many options, but the design is really cute. For the purpose of representing the race horse you're backing, it has what you need. It's always interesting seeing how much of Japanese horse culture has to do with racing rather than other equestrianism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ Horsemaker by Hajen14 (@hajen14 on Tumblr!) Rating: 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 5/5 carrots + strawberry cake 🍰 This is the first one where I really felt I was making a seal brown horse. There aren't any accessories or extras, but the extensive coat patterns and colours, and mane and tail options, is more than enough to stand on its own. If you want to design a realistic horse coat with a lot of detail options, this one is for you!

Platonic Stobin Month, Day 9: Outfit Swap
Prompt List
Even before Robin became friends with Steve Harrington, she knew the dude was vain. Hell, one of his nicknames throughout high school was The Hair. She'd watch him from afar fix that hair all the time, only surfacing from sleeping at the back of Mrs Clicks' class to readjust his locks and carry out a wordless flirt session with Tammy Thompson.
After becoming friends with Steve, Robin quickly learned he is what she can only describe as a fashionista. The dude had coordinated shoes for that stupid sailor's outfit, remember? So of course he has a closet filled floor to ceiling with clothes and complementary accessories.
But that wardrobe is, is not-so-tidy. Like, at all. In fact, most of the time it is bursting at the seams because Steve enjoys buying clothes and dares not repeat whole ensembles.
Plus he's the worst, a complete menace when it comes to borrowing (and never returning) clothes. What's worse is he never remembers borrowing things in the first place, insisting all the random, sometimes ill-fitting and definitely not-Steve clothes are in fact his.
Case in point: Robin is standing at his unorganised built-in closet, having trekked from the bus stop just outside Loch Nora with her duffle bag on a mission to get all her stuff back he's borrowed since the Summer of 1985. And yeah sure, Robin borrowed her fair share of jackets, jeans and general dude-attire from Steve. But she always gave it back, hand-delivered on time and freshly cleaned.
Her breaking point was an oversized (fitted on Steve) black jacket with patches she'd sewn all over, customised to her liking. A jacket that was hers in every way. A jacket perfect to take to Indy on an upcoming trip with Nancy.
Steve had asked to borrow it months ago in some feeble attempt to impress a certain equally rabies-infected brain-dead idiot named Eddie Munson.
Speaking of the (not according to his acquittal via a secret government) devil, she pulls a Corroded Coffin cut-off right out of Steve's top drawer. She spins around to face her best friend with a quizzical eye, despite holding a solid piece of literal boyfriend material in her boney hands.
"That's mine," Steve says, startled and leaning forward to snatch it up with a swift swoop of his hand.
"Ah yes, because you're always wearing Corroded Coffin shirts," she shoots back, rolling her eyes. "Totally goes with your whole preppie-jock vibe."
"I sleep in it," Steve retorts, hugging it to his chest as he resumes sitting criss-cross applesauce and looking if it the excuse hasn't dug him in deeper.
Robin resumes her search and locates a baby pink sweater that could only belong to one pretty girl named Nancy. She tosses it at her duffle bag, smirking at the possibility of impressing her girlfriend with a long-lost item of clothing.
"Soooo?" she sings a few minutes later as she spots the thinnest pair of jeans she's ever seen.
"Yes, Rob?" Steve sings back, the sarcastic eye roll evident in his voice.
She spins again to find Steve laying back on his hideous bedspread. She dramatically unfurls the denim with a flick, gaining his attention.
"Those are mine," Steve splutters, reaching haphazardly for the jeans but misses, almost toppling over the edge of the bed.
"Really?" she barks, narrowing her eyes. "Now I have to sort through Munson's stinky clothes too?"
Steve makes a face, somewhere between a pout and his signature bitch look he gives when the Dork Squad is nagging.
"Okay so," he huffs, leaning back on his pillows. "Maybe Eds has some clothes here. So what? We hang out all the time!"
He gestures in the air as he talks, not doing himself any favours in order to sound convincing.
"Hmm, sounds like you're dating."
"But-"
"Nope," she cuts him off, popping the 'p'. "I'm not arguing with you about this again, Steve. I'm already on the verge of wanting to claw you into submission about this damn jacket."
"I don't have it!" he whines.
"Yes, you do!" she argues back, admittedly sounding equally whingey.
God, Robin doesn't even get like this with her own brother. She sighs, fluttering her eyes shut as she makes what she assumes is a calming zen pose before returning to the labyrinthine closet.
"I'm going to be so pissed if this jacket is crushed up in here or folded in half over a hanger. I swear to God, Steve!"
She spots a maroon sweater, eyes widening even though now is probably not a great time to request borrowing an article of clothing. Although it looks too small for Steve anyway... So maybe... Wait.
She whips around.
"Hey, I thought we cleared out all your old clothes when we were making up donation boxes after Vecna tore Hawkins a new one?"
"Please don't say his name," Steve begs, pinching his nose until he catches a glimpse of the clothing in her hand and his eyes widen. "Shit."
"What?" she frowns, holding the sweater up to her body.
Yep. It'll fit.
"Yeah, sure," Steve says, waving his hand, not at all sounding casual as he puffs out a nonchalant breath. "Have it."
"Whose is it?" she queries, stepping closer and jumping square on the bed to pin Steve down and loom over him.
The move knocks a breath out of him and Steve just lays there, all wide-eyed with worry as he gawks at the deep red knitted sweater. Robin tosses it to the side and stares him down, all the while Steve does nothing but nervously chew at his bottom lip. So she tickles him, sending Steve into a fit of whining giggles.
"Noooooo," he chokes.
"Tell me whose sweater this is, Steve?" she demands through laughs, nodding in the direction of the item in question.
"No! Please."
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes, dingus! Spill!"
"It's Tommy's, okay!" he admits, rolling on the spot and successfully flipping Robin off him, leaving her scrambling for the sweater.
He throws a hand over his face as he flops back on the mattress.
"Details!" she insists, making grabby hands like it's the only thing that could possibly satiate her at this moment.
Steve screws his eyes shut. He runs panicked hands through his hair as he focuses his breathing. After a moment he finally opens his mouth and what comes out is pure, unadulterated word vomit.
"One night after a party, Tommy stayed over and we were high and stuff and then we kissed," he pauses to suck in another breath. "Then we were totally making out and I took my shirt off then he took this stupid sweater off. But we were way too high turns out and stopped. We forgot about it and he left the sweater here, rushing off the following morning. Then I was with Nance and all the Upside Down shit happened and Tommy and I weren't friends anymore. And..."
He trails off into a huff and yanks the maroon sweater from Robin’s hands.
"Yeah," she starts through gritted teeth, creeping off the bed. "If it’s Hagan’s, I do not want it. Also, lesson learned. I don't want to hear about your various escapades in this bed. Seriously, I sleep here too, y'know?"
She makes her way back to the closet as Steve curls in on himself, groaning. And from an ever-so-slightly distant view, Robin spots her jacket, hanging thoughtfully amongst Steve’s Members Only jacket and... a costume that looks like it belongs at a Renaissance Fair.
"What the hell is that!" she screeches.

🦎🦾🛫🦿Incorrect Quotes/Drabbles Top Gun & Pacific Rim AU - Series🦿🛫🦾🦎
Reuben Payback Fitch is in his private quarters at the Miramar Shatterdome, reading the latest report on the updates added to the Jaeger he’s co-piloting with Mickey Fanboy Garcia. They’re supposed to have another test later before their WagerTrek Jaeger is to officially launch an attack against the Kaiju.
His boyfriend was supposed to be in charge of the snacks for their much-deserved break. It’s been several minutes since he left. The Miramar kitchen isn’t that far from their quarters, so Payback is wondering what Fanboy is up to now.
He’s also feeling a bit nervous. Yesterday he received the engagement ring he asked to be engraved, and he’s wondering when to propose…
Tumblr media
He’s thinking about different scenarios, toying with the ring, when the door of his quarters is suddenly opened, and his soon-to-be fiancé –hopefully– comes in with a huge smile!
Fanboy: ‘SUP, BABE?!
Payback, startled and moved frantically to hide the ring in his pillow: Yo, Mickey-boo. Why are you so late?
Fanboy: I was busy putting an end to our sufrimiento. ¡Tu boyfriend es un héroe!
Payback: What did you do? What suffering?
Fanboy: The kind que impieza con una J y una B.
Payback: J and B…Jake and Bradley? What about them? I thought they were currently avoiding each other because of another bullshit reason. Bullshit reason that is in fact an epic failed attempt at flirting that both sides somehow took offence from…
Fanboy: Let me explain what I did. So, do you remember my collection of action figures that nobody –but you– knows about?
[The collection Fanboy is talking about is an action-figures-of-every-Daggers-Jaeger-Pilot-in-their-PPDC-uniform-with-extra-accessories type of collection. It’s all part of the commercial aspect of the Jaeger-Kaiju War. Even though the Apocalypse is coming closer, some try to make a profit out of it, because there are a lot of groupies who like to spend their money to buy figurines of their heroes and the giant Godzilla-like monsters. Fanboy is one of the groupies, although he gets discounts and the Merchandise Team loves him – he gives them so many good ideas, like the Fanboy he is.]
Payback: Yeah. So?
Fanboy: Well, I asked the Merch Team to do me a favour and create two unique action figures.
[The first one is a Bradley Rooster Bradshaw action figure. The Rooster doll wears his Ranger & PPDC-issued uniform with a leather jacket portraying his Kaiju kills; however, he doesn’t have his usual accessories, he gets a Stetson, a wooden comb, and a toothpick box instead. Meanwhile the other action figure is a Jake Hangman Seresin doll wearing a mustache, a colourful Hawaiian-shirt and jorts with extra accessories such as a Bronco and a French bulldog figurine.]
Payback, speechless: For real, man?
Fanboy, excited: Yup. Then I put the Bradley doll in Jake’s room, and the Jake doll in Bradley’s. It should melt their pissy moods, perhaps they’re too chicken shit to face their feelings, but I’m hoping they’re far too gone on one another to throw the doll away…
Payback: I know you enough to tell there’s another step to that plan…
Fanboy, Aw. You know me too well, babe. There is!
Payback: ‘Kay, Mickey-Mouse, tell you what. I have five attempts to guess your plan. You win, I’m doing your part of the report about the test we’re conducting with WagerTrek. I win, I want my OWN customised doll and shit! ‘Cause this is so cool!
Fanboy: Deal, mi amor!
Payback; with a giant grin: Sweet, baby! Oh, and you’ve forgotten our snacks! ☹
Fanboy: ¡Joder! be right back!
[Fanboy runs to the kitchen to fetch their snacks while Payback put his ring away, a plan finally forming in his head. By the way, Fanboy also has a plan to propose to his boyfriend with an action figure!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[The sequel of Fanboy’s plan to be set in another post.]
[This third post is in the same timeframe than the first one. And I’ve figured out what Bradley and Natasha’s Jaeger name is going to be. The FeatheredFlame!]
[I got the idea for this post once I saw @babyrooster’s post about Barbie!Rooster. It sparked something in my head! :D]

your costume and makeup look so cool!! :D
Thank you so much!!!! I’m incredibly proud of how it looks :> I’ve never sewn anything before and snapped the sewing machine needle the first day so I spent the next four on the floor hand sewing but that’s okay!
The skirt was originally designed just for casual wear as I love this style but I loved it so much that I really wanted to wear it for Halloween!! Tho of course I decided this like five days before haha
The jacket was winged! I had it plain and just cropped and added the button as well as the pockets— tho I did sew it inside out TWICE 💀 to be fair it was like 2am and I had been doing it all day haha (and I’ve never actually sewn anything proper before)
I did want the star over the chest like a centre piece but just couldn’t make ir look good so the sides work too!!
Lots of re doing stuff :> and fighting with the blue yarn because it kept peeling and getting stuck.. so worth it for the cartoon look tho!!
And the makeup— I’ve always wanted to do this style!! Just for casual wear but tried once and I did it awfully- I guess the kick of motivation to get something down for tomorrow helped this time around :D genuinely very excited to explore this style more and now that I know I can customise clothes- I’m so tempted to do it to everything I own!!
I also have some great accessorys for it!! Please take this video of me dancing around my room at very late hours showing the whole thing!!
Technically I’m too old for trick-or-treating but I got baby sitting duty so loop hole >:)

Do you have a fan/air conditioning on right now? Nope - I'm actually sat under a blanket at the moment as it's weirdly cold considering it's only August. I guess we're nearly in September though - it just feels like we've barely had a summer this year.
When was the last time you sang along with a song? Which one was it? Earlier today when I was in the shower. It was "He Set Her Off" by Emily Ann Roberts.
Are you currently wearing any hair accessories? Which ones? I have my hair up in a messy bun, so I guess two hair elastics plus an Alice band thing to keep the wisps under control.
Have you ever wished you had a different name? Which name would you choose? I used to wish I was called Samantha for some reason, but nowadays I'm happy with my name, though I prefer my nickname.
Do you often press the wrong keys on the keyboard? No - that only really happens when I switch from Windows to Mac, or change machines completely.
Have you ever customised an item of clothing? What did you do to it? No, I'm not really creative enough to do anything like that.
When was the last time you got a splinter stuck in you? D: A few weeks ago at work. I think.
Do you prefer drawing or painting? Any particular reason why? Neither, to be quite honest. I don't mind colouring in with sharpies or whatever, though.
Are you saving up for anything right now? What? Just life in general, really. I don't really need anything specific. My savings tend to go on car maintenance/tyres, the odd day trip out and maybe something like a new laptop occasionally. I don't really want for much materialistically.
Are you any good at playing pinball? I haven't played since I was about eight, so I'm going to go with no.
Do you own any figurines? Of what? I have a beagle in a teacup that my mother-in-law got me a few years ago. It sits on our bookshelf. I don't really like that kind of thing as a rule but this one is cute and of course it's from family too.
If you have any siblings, how much rivalry is between you all? I don't have any siblings.
When did you last have itchy eyes? A couple of days ago.
If forced to go camping, would you rather sleep in a tent or a caravan? Caravan. I have absolutely no desire to ever spend any time in a tent.
Is it dark outside right now? No, but it's weirdly grey and miserable for 1.30pm in August.
How often do you get jealous of other people? What is it usually about? I get envious of people with properly nice houses that don't need work doing to them lol. Also people whose dogs don't have separation anxiety -_-
Do you prefer framed photos or just sticking photos straight onto walls? Framed ones.
What’s your favourite type of cake? Either lemon drizzle, coffee & walnut or carrot cake. Or cheesecake, if that counts - not the baked kind though.
Have you ever woken up from a dream and believed it to have been real? Yeah, for a split second while I regain consciousness.
When was the last time you brushed your teeth? Before my shower this morning, so about four hours ago.
How tired are you right now? Not very.
When was the last time you had an argument with someone? What was it about? I don't remember the last time I argued with anyone.
If there’s a bug in your room, can you sleep or do you need to get it out? It depends on the bug. Flies or moths are fine, but spiders are a big no and I need them OUT lol.
How long have you gone without sleep? Ever? 48+ hours. But it's been about six hours since I woke up.
Can you drive yet? How good are you at it? Yeah, I'm a decent enough driver on our local roads but I wouldn't say I was a very confident driver.
Do you prefer travelling alone or with people? It depends where I'm going.
Did you listen to the radio today? No.
What was the last baby animal you saw? Simba our kitten. He's asleep right next to me at the moment.
Generally speaking, is it warmer or colder in your house than outside? Cooler, unless we have the heating on or the fire lit. It's lovely in here in summer but in winter it's bloody freezing.
When was the last time you threw up? Probably when I had that horrendous virus thing back in February. I barely made it out of bed for three days.
Do you give people high fives or hugs more often? Hugs.
Have you ever tie-dyed something? Yeah, we did it in art class once.
Name something you thought was cool when you were younger but don’t now: Baggy jeans.
How long does it usually take you to get to sleep? 10-15 minutes. It's staying asleep that's more of a problem for me.
When did you last get a papercut? I have no idea.
Which do you prefer: Blackboards or whiteboards? Blackboards look cute but whiteboards are easier to write on.
What sort of things do you have bookmarked in your internet browser? Nothing.
Are / were you spoilt? Would others agree or disagree with you? I don't know. I guess I was in the sense that I had a private education and never wanted for anything materially - we had a nice house and I had my own room and lots of toys, but I like to think that I didn't end up as some kind spoilt brat because of it.
What are you wearing right now? Leggings and a tunic top.
What was the last book you read? I don't remember, I haven't read a book in ages.

Shell Toes And Hoop Earrings: Eight Hip-Hop Fashion Items That Changed What We Wear
New York exhibition traces style evolution: ‘These are intergenerational ideas of what it meant to be stylish’.
From Professor X’s hat to Spike Lee merch, Fresh, Fly, and Fabulous, a new exhibition at New York’s Museum at FIT, traces the history of hip-hop style across 50 years. Elizabeth Way and Elena Romero, the event’s curators, talk through the importance of eight items – including one from Romero’s own archive – that changed fashion.
Romero contributed her own name belt to the exhibition – an example of a trend for wearing your name on accessories in the early 80s. “There were these small mom-and-pop stores throughout the different boroughs,” she says. “You would tell them how many letters, with either your name, your horoscope, your crew, and then have them customised.”
Hoop earrings are synonymous with hip-hop style – worn by everyone from Salt-N-Pepa to Lil Kim and Cardi B. Way says this is another item with roots in wider Black culture. “We see a lot of figures like Betty Shabazz, Angela Davis, wearing hoops, and we see that continue with women in hip-hop.”
“A lot of it is paying homage to mothers, our aunties, the baby boomers of the civil rights movement,” adds Romero.
Images taken by the photographer Jamel Shabazz @jamelshabazz in the early 80s are featured in the exhibition. Documenting young people in the hip-hop scene in Brooklyn, the images showcase the large-lensed Cazal glasses now so associated with this era. Romero says they were a status symbol and could be seen as an early example of geek chic. “Glasses have not always had the best responses from young kids,” she remembers. “But now, all of a sudden, the very thing that people kind of hated was chic and popular.” They were the finishing touch on a kind of uniform: “You’d wear them with the bucket hat, the shearling, the Shell Toes or Converse.”
Fresh, Fly, and Fabulous: Fifty Years of Hip Hop Style is at the Museum at FIT in New York from 8 February to 23 April -(source: the guardian)

Ultimate Guide to Baby Bangles and Infant Jewellery
When it comes to adorning our little ones, nothing is more precious than the delicate beauty of baby bangles and infant jewellery. From gold-plated baby bracelets to personalised newborn bangles, these pieces are not just accessories; they are keepsakes that capture the essence of childhood. This comprehensive guide explores various types of baby jewellery, their significance, and how to choose the perfect pieces for your child.
The Charm of Baby Bangles
Baby bangles are a timeless piece of jewellery that parents have cherished for generations. These tiny, elegant rings encircle a baby’s wrist, adding a touch of sophistication to their attire. Available in various designs, materials, and customisations, baby bangles make an excellent gift for special occasions like christenings, birthdays, and even as a sentimental keepsake.
Types of Baby Bangles
Gold Baby Bangles
Gold Baby Bangles: These classic bangles are crafted from pure gold or gold plating, offering a luxurious touch. Gold baby bangles are not only beautiful but also hold value, making them a lasting heirloom.
Gold Plated Baby Bracelet: A more affordable option that still exudes elegance, gold-plated baby bracelets are popular for their durability and style.
Silver Baby Bangles
Silver Bangles for Infants: Silver is another popular choice for baby bangles, known for its simplicity and charm. Silver bangles are perfect for everyday wear and special occasions.
Silver Bangle with Blue Stone: Adding a touch of colour, these bangles often feature a small blue stone, symbolising tranquillity and protection.
Custom Baby Bangles
Custom Baby Bracelet Gold: Personalised with the baby's name or birth date, custom gold bangles are cherished for their unique and sentimental value.
Engraved Baby Bracelet: These bangles can be engraved with names, initials, or meaningful messages, making them a perfect gift that carries personal significance.
Infant Jewellery for Special Occasions
Infant jewellery isn't limited to everyday wear; it also plays a significant role in various cultural and religious ceremonies.
Christening Bracelets
Christening Bracelets: These bracelets are often given as gifts during baptism or christening ceremonies. They can be simple or elaborate, often featuring religious symbols or inscriptions.
Egyptian Themed Jewellery
Hieroglyphics Necklace: Drawing inspiration from ancient Egypt, these necklaces feature hieroglyphic inscriptions, adding a historical touch to the baby's jewellery collection.
Egyptian Cartouche Necklace: A unique piece that can be customised with the baby's name in hieroglyphics, symbolising protection and royal heritage.
Baby Jewellery Trends
Baby Protection Bracelet: Rooted in various cultures, these bracelets are believed to protect babies from negative energies and bring good luck.
Indian Bracelet Meaning: In Indian culture, bracelets or bangles are often worn as a symbol of good fortune and protection.
Jewellery Advent Calendar: A delightful trend, these calendars feature a piece of jewellery for each day leading up to Christmas, creating excitement and joy for both parents and children.
Choosing the Perfect Baby Jewellery
When selecting jewellery for your baby, consider the following factors:
Safety: Ensure that the jewellery is made from hypoallergenic materials and has smooth edges to prevent any harm to the baby’s delicate skin.
Size: Choose adjustable pieces or those specifically designed for infants to ensure a comfortable fit.
Durability: Babies are active, so the jewellery should be sturdy enough to withstand daily wear and tear.
Personalisation: Adding the baby’s name or a special date makes the jewellery unique and meaningful.
Sentimental Baby Gifts
Sentimental Baby Gifts: Personalised baby jewellery, such as engraved bracelets or custom name bangles, make heartfelt gifts that can be treasured for a lifetime.
Seasonal and Themed Jewellery
Halloween Gifts for Infants: Cute and themed jewellery pieces for Halloween can add to the festive spirit.
Gold Jewellery Advent Calendar: A luxurious advent calendar featuring gold jewellery pieces can be a delightful surprise for the holiday season.
Conclusion
Baby bangles and infant jewellery are more than just accessories; they are symbols of love, heritage, and protection. Whether you choose a gold baby bangle, a custom engraved bracelet, or a hieroglyphics necklace, each piece carries a story and a memory. As you adorn your child with these precious pieces, you create lasting memories and heirlooms that will be cherished for generations to come.

Iron-On Labels: Flexible, useful, and Important
Iron-on labels are now a need in the busy world of organising and caring for clothing. These little but powerful tools are a practical answer for a number of tasks, such as marking kids' clothes or adding personal touches to handcrafted goods. Let us examine the numerous uses for iron-on labels and the reasons behind their widespread usage.
1. Recognition and Customization
Identifying personal items is one of the main uses for iron-on labels. Labelling makes sure that everything is clearly identifiable, from sports equipment to school uniforms, which lowers the possibility of misplacements or confusion. Additionally, customised labels give products a sense of personality and uniqueness.
2. Perfect for Kids' Clothes
Keeping track of their kids' clothes can be difficult for parents, especially in places like childcare centres, schools, and summer camps. Fortunately, iron-on labels come in handy, offering a quick and long-lasting way to mark shirts, jeans, coats, and even shoes. These labels retain their adherence and clarity even after multiple washings and drying cycles.
3. Effective for Assisted Living and Nursing Homes
When doing laundry, it is common for residents' clothes to get lost or mixed up in care facilities. Names or room numbers ironed on labels guarantee that clothing is swiftly returned to its original owners. In addition to saving staff time, this helps seniors retain their dignity and sense of independence.
4. Handmade goods and craft projects
Iron-on labels are a common tool used by artists and craftspeople to give their work a polished appearance. These labels provide items of clothes, blankets, and accessories manufactured by hand a polished appearance and a mark of quality craftsmanship. They can also provide branding and functionality by adding care instructions or brand logos.
5. Marketing and Promotional Objectives
Iron-on labels are widely used by businesses as an affordable brand promotion tool. These labels can be put on giveaway goods, promotional merchandise, and business uniforms. Iron-on labels are a long-lasting marketing strategy since their endurance guarantees that the brand message will be visible for a considerable amount of time.
6. Personalized Presents and Particular Events
A unique approach to add personality to gifts for friends and family is by using iron-on labels. These labels give a kind touch to any gift, whether they are used for a monogram on a towel, a name on a baby blanket, or a unique message on a tote bag. They are especially well-liked for milestone events like weddings and baby showers.
7. Extended Life and Simple Application
The simplicity of application of iron-on labels is a major factor in their appeal. The label sticks to fabric with ease with a regular iron and a few seconds of pressing. Iron-on labels, as opposed to traditional sew-on labels, do not require sewing knowledge or specialised tools. They also endure several washings and hold up well in challenging laundry circumstances.
In summary
Iron-on labels have established themselves as a reliable, practical, and necessary tool for personalising and marking clothing. These labels provide a straightforward but efficient answer for a variety of applications, from useful ones like identifying children's clothes to artistic ones like crafts and gifts. Iron-on labels remain a popular option for individuals, families, businesses, and artisans due to their ease of application and durability. Iron-on labels can be used to customise handmade items or to keep track of your child's school uniform. They are a great way to simplify your life and give your possessions a more distinctive look.
