2. Clannad

How I came to find Clannad

Long story short, I came across a YouTube video ( forgot from who ) that talked about sad animes. And guess what? Yes. Clannad was there.

I watched Clannad on YouTube, but was only able to find up to episode 10 for some reason, and I was IN LOVE. So I did what any anime lover would do….ask my parents to buy it for me. There’s an anime store where I live, and surprise! They had it!

Husband goals tbh. This man raised my husband expectations way too high, that I know damn well I’ll be single forever. I blame him. I blame it ALL ON HIM.

He’s just such a good dad! (*꒦ິ⌓꒦ີ) Knowing he gave up his dream of being an actor, for Nagisa. And him yelling at Nagisa, that it wasn’t her fault. That he did it because he loves her, and- UUUHHGGG my heart! He just loves his daughter so much, and is always down to joke around. He’s funny, and to what we see, is so in love with Sanae. The fact that they both do their dramatic “quarreling”, where Sanae runs off “crying” and Akio runs after her, just to bring some joy to their daughter??? Like???? That’s beautiful??!! I’m in tears.

Oh, and him being like a dad/ bestie with Tomoya- *chefs kiss* makes me ugly cry.

Youhei Sunohara

One of the funniest characters out there, I swear this boy never failed to make me laugh.

Seeing his friendship with Tomoya, was honestly so fun to watch. Both are good people, who are just a little lost at this moment of their lives.

While he may have come across as annoying at times, and always getting in some sort of problem, I would have liked to see more of him and his personal life. We mainly got a few glimpses of his personal life, and how he cares for his sister. Aside from that, I still very much enjoyed his presence in the first season of Clannad.

( I know it’s kinda blurry, but I just love this moment. Just two bros being bros)

Tomoya Okisaki

Our protagonist all throughout the anime.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting him to be the protagonist, I thought it was Nagisa, but I didn’t complain. I was interested to see where his life would go, and how he would grow.

I found it sweet that he wasn’t some Highschool perv, or a cold asshole towards the woman kind. His interactions with the girls, all seemed friendly and genuine to me. With Kotomi, he’s like an older brother. With Fuko, he was mainly just playful and teasing with her. Treating her like a little kid, and never overstepping any boundaries. He didn’t really overstep any boundaries with any of the girls. Respectful boi.

For the first season, he mainly started to change his “delinquent” ways, for Nagisa. Cute start, yes. But in Season Two???? My god, this poor boy can’t catch a break. Like- why man? WHY!? Why was life like that to him!?

For a high schooler who saw the world as only monotone, he grew so much. Honestly, he reminds me of my brother. Maybe that’s why I felt some instant attachment to him. My brother too, during Highschool, was lost. Skipping, getting into trouble, not caring about much, but seeing him change when he’s surrounded by people who genuinely love and care for him, he’s a good person. And Tomoya just reminded me of him.

Clannad : After Story

What can I say? I haven’t seen such a perfect second season in any romance anime- ever.

Clannad Season 1, was just the appetizer. Season 2! Is the MAIN COURSE!

Everything that went down in S2, broke me. Tore me to shreds, put a bandaid over me, and then continued to stomp on me!

I honestly don’t want to spoil much of what happened, because Clannad is one of those Animes that I ALWAYS recommend, so I didn’t want to go too deep into it. With Season 1, I’m fine spilling a few things here and there, but Season 2? My lips are sealed. 🤐

Just know…

It’s worth watching. Please, believe me! It’s truly a life changing anime.

Evelin sat in her room, Pinro asleep at the foot of her bed. She examined a headband in her grasp. A pair of cat ears. She placed them on her head and posed her hands like paws in a small mirror.

"Nya"

She said quietly. They were cute for certain. They were cat ears after all, the holiest of god's creations. At least that's what the raven haired girl thought and prophetically proclaimed. But they looked...off on her, she thought to herself.

Eve would be too embarrassed to wear such a garment. It was too big for Fuko. She was left with one option. And so she went to find her target.

. . .

He sat laid back on the couch, music filling his ears. His head hung over the armrest, bobbing to the beat as he tapped his foot.

It was a perfect relaxation day. He'd been like this for hours now. Sundown on a snowy evening, sat by the open curtains with a view of town and her lights signaling to the newborn night sky.

His session was interrupted by footsteps on the landing.

"Heya" Eli greeted, still bobbing to his music, taking one headphone off to hear both the music and his girlfriend. "Come to see sundown with me?" he proposed, moving his legs so she could sit.

"Not exactly. But it is a nice addition" she sat down with a nod.

For a moment they sat, enjoying the view. Until Eli noticed the headband in her hand.

"Whatcha got there?" he titled his head.

"A headband I got sometime ago. Only..." she paused, looking at Eli now.

"Only...what...?"

She held up the headband with a small glint in her eyes.

"H-Hey, I wouldn't-" he was about to protest, until seeing the look in her eyes. He took a deep breath and sighed. "Fine...only for a moment..." he relented and bowed his head.

Evelin placed the ears on his head, and after a minor adjustment, took her hands away.

"W-Well...?" he asked, looking to the side as his face slowly turned red from embarrassment.

She didn't answer, instead patting his head softly, like she would a normal cat. Smiling warmly as she did so. Eli closed his eyes, enjoying the soft feeling of her hand on his head, as she even ran her fingers through his hair. Anyone else would have found this strange, or even diminishing. But to Eli it felt...right.

"Cute~" she almost hummed, thoroughly enjoying this moment.

"A-Are you done...?" he asked, still a touch red.

"No. There's one last thing"

"And that would be...?"

He saw her pose her hands like paws.

"Nya"

Eli's mouth twisted with uncertainty. He'd never done something like this before. Being patted was one thing, something he was well accustomed to. But this was something else.

"N...N-N...Nya..." he feebly uttered, his face getting redder.

"No...nya" she said again, with more conviction.

"N-Nya..." he uttered again, slightly louder this time.

"Almost...nya"

He took a deep breath again, and posed his hands like hers, and one final time-

"Nya" he said clearly, though now more flushed than ever.

"Very good" she said as he saw her eyes sparkle a little as she patted him again with a small smile.

"A-Are you finished? I don't want you getting any ideas..." he huffed.

"Like what...? A collar? I might have one somewhere..." she said thoughtfully.

"Y-You can't be serious..."

"Who knows? Just enjoy this moment" she assured, still patting. "There there~"

As it came along, I thought it would be a good YCH chibi commission, so I opened three slots for it back in 2021 somewhere around September or October.

When I tried drawing him onto the cover of the carton, it didn't feel fitting or cute at all. So I ended up drawing a separate PNG of him with a cute pose in front of the carton instead.

Autumn 2023 REVISED

I felt the high need to adjust my list (this one LINK), since I obviously missed out on some gems, and also some of the ones I felt really praiseworthy about PLUMMETED to hell;;;

Undead Unluck It's a difficult choice for the first place, but I think that on the long run, this is the one I'll be remembering. the system is cool, it has the potential for multiple seasons and the main duo are a great combi! Andy is such a refreshing guy who shrugges through life as Fuko is regretting every step they take. I'm also interested in knowing more about the group members.

Migi and Dali I compared it to Sakamoto, but it's actually a whole lot better. Despite the over the top bizarrity, or maybe just because, the story is really thrilling and even though the characters are all kinda weird and creepy, you just end up rooting for them (even the annoying beaver kid)

Apothecary Diaries Autism rights. I'm not too keen on the whole Chinese court drama, but the raven courtess had mellowed my prejudice. These characters are a whole lot easier to keep apart (though I still struggle with names) And watching a little girl bully a beautiful and snobbish man is a trope that never gets old.

the 100 girls who really really really love you A harem series?? in my top 5??? yes, this is actually so amusing. all the girls are cute, they all fit the mc well, and I can actually believe that multiple guys would fall for a guy like this! everyone's so down with the entire polycluster, it's so refreshing. and the girls are ✨getting along✨!!! No jealousy, no bitchiness, we're all ride or die for one another. (spoiler: though adding the mother of one of the girls to the cluster is A BIT weird....)

Kamonohashi Ron's forbidden deductions Dropped quite some places, since it doesn't feel like the characters are really sticking. I see the main plot seeping through here and there, but it kinda feels monster of the week overall. Still a good watch, though. The main duo is fun and Ron is such an idiot, amazing.

My new boss is goofy Nothing wrong here, entertaining and a good watch in between. not really going anywhere, but it doesn't need to. The 'no one pays me attention =n=' gag is a bit annoying and repetitive, but the goofiness is doing well on its delivery.

Dog Signal Ceasar Millan, the anime. Very antisocial dog trainer who I feel in my bones, because how absolutely UNEDUCATED can these dog owners get??? please for the love of god, do some research before getting a dog! Especially if it's a breed! Collies get bored easily, lifting dogs creates napoleon syndrome, don't fucking wind your dog up with anxiety before leaving the house!! anyway *clears throat* good show. very relatable.

Crash course on Naughtiness Not a lot happening here, but the main ship is cute and I like how the girl is growing more confident over time. They could have made the boy a bit weirder with the reputation he has and the 'naughtiness' falls kinda flat sometimes. But I like how they redicule themselves with the 'this strange man is teaching me naughty things ^^' as people watch upon her with concern.

Yuzuki family’s 4 sons The focus lies quite a lot on the 3rd son, which is a shame (please give me 5 seasons about just the little one, he is so precious), but it's very cute for a slice of life. I like how they all are their own person and break stereotypes. And it's both sad and beautiful how they don't act their age, due to their situation. Not a lot going on, but amusing enough to keep watching.

Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch a bit clichee, but the comedy is quite on point and the characters are fun. love the little ending dance Might continue once I can binge them: Kamierabi (love the OP song) I'm in Love with the Villainess The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me Nanatsu no Taizai: 4 knights of apocalypse Dropped: Ojou to Banken-kun (I'm sorry, it just made me rly uncomfortable..) Nadeshiko Kagamihara Anime – Yuru Camp Nadeshiko is a totally moe girl who came to love camping ever since she had her first encounter with Rin Shima, a solo camper. She has a more active and energetic personality, however she acts like a grandma at times (which is most definitely cute.) Yui Hirasawa – The very definition of Moe Anime – K-on! Moe = K-on! What else can I say? This anime has a lot of moe-ness and the one who stands at the top of all the other cute characters in that anime is Yui. Yui is one of the main protagonists of K-on! She plays the role of Lead Guitarist and Vocalist in the music band called ‘After school tea time’. She has a fun seeking, cheerful personality. Taiga Aisaka – Legal Loli + A Tsundere! Anime – Toradora! Taiga is infamously known as the “palmtop tiger” because of her short height and here short temper. She is the very definition of Tsundere showing extreme mood swings. Although she might be seen as an extremely tough character in the beginning, she shows her sweet and weak side as the show progresses. The Platelets Anime – Cells at Work! Children are always cute and charming. That’s probably why most of the characters in this list are characters below the legal age. Platelet is a minor loli character in Cells at Work! Her responsibility is to heal injuries and form blood clots to stop bleeding. She is small, polite and innocent with a strong leadership quality. Nanachi Anime – Made in Abyss After surviving the curse of the 6th layer, her body gets deformed into a rabbit-like form. Nanachi has a vast knowledge of the abyss as a result of being stuck there for a long time. She is a medicine expert too. Beatrice Anime – Re:zero Beatrice is the very definition of cute. Levy McGarden – small and cute anime girl Anime – Fairy Tail Levy is the member of the Fairy Tail guild who loves reading. She has a cheerful, upbeat, and easy going personality. She is also a very kind and forgiving person as she forgave Gajeel Redfox even though he tortured her and her teammates. Levy is a tiny and cute anime girl who’ll make your heart skip a beat with her cuteness. Rikka Takanashi Anime – Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! Rikka is a cute anime loli who always wears an eye patch. Chunibyou a.k.a Middle school (8th grader) syndrome patient. She believes that she is a sorceress who is possessed by the “Tyrant’s Eye” that will reveal destinies. And if anybody sees her eyes, it will be considered as signing a contract with her. So, she wears a medical eye-patch over her right eye to seal her “Tyrant’s Eye”. Kaede Azusagawa – The sweet sister character Anime – Rascal does not dream of Bunny girl senpai After being bullied online, she is smitten by the adolescence syndrome which makes her to lose her memories. She then becomes a shut-in who lives with her brother, Sakuta. She develops a completely new and cute personality after her memory loss, becoming the kawaii imotou character we all know and love. Senko – Motherly + Legal Loli Anime – The Helpful Fox Senko-san Senko is a 800 year old Kitsune fox girl – a fox demigod, probably the oldest of all the other anime lolis in this list. One day she appeared at Kuroto’s house claiming that she had come to pamper him to his heart’s content. She often describes herself as the wife-mother of Kuroto, which is a perfect description of her role in caring for him. Senko-san is the best anime girl in terms of care and affection. Mio Akiyama Anime – K-on! Mio is another member of the After School Tea Time band. She is mature, calm and collected but gets easily scared by gross or gory things. She is also extremely shy. Just imagining herself being the center of attention made her faint. Yoshino – Kawaii loli with split personality Anime – Data a Live She has two personalities: Yoshino and Yoshinon. As Yoshino she is extremely shy and delicate, but the kindest at the same time. As Yoshinon she is outspoken and bold. Whenever she wears a puppet she becomes her alter ego, Yoshinon. That is, her appearance can also change to that of an adult woman. Shinobu was originally a human princess named Rola. She was cursed so that everyone who comes close to her will commit suicide. She then meets a purebred vampire that turns her into a vampire. A while later, after losing most of her powers she became emotionless and literally did nothing, other than sitting in the same spot with her hands clasping her knees. But she reverted to her old cheerful, condescending personality after regaining her powers. Filo – bird loli Anime – The Rising Of The Shield Hero Filo, another cute loli, is a member of the Shield hero’s party. She was bought as an egg at the slave trader’s place. Due to her association with Naofumi she grew into the Filolial Queen (The queen of her species/race.) She has a very playful and energetic personality and shows great love for her master Naofumi.
