Got another baddie for today: Cherubimon (Vice)! Yet another design that I love and it was a very useful partner in the Cyber Sleuth series for me.

Answers that question then, Cyber Eden will just be the first game... It feels like a long wait.

Still, no signs of Eater Arata yet, wonder if we'll get a Team Hudie archetype instead?

Digimon Cyber Sleuth never got the credit it deserved. Easily one of my all time favorite games, and with mods it's even more fun! Final fantasy-esque 3 on 3 battles, interesting damage system, three of your digimon follow you (!!) Wish the game got more credit/accolades because I really wanted them to make more, but even just as Cyber Sleuth and Hackers Memory it's 11/10.

I’ve spent almost 40 hours on digimon cybersleuth does it make my head hurt? Yes. Am I proud of how long it takes me to digivolve gatomon? No. Am I down bad for Arata? Definitely. I need more arata fan art pls!

Despite (clearly) being a Pokémon fan, I still enjoy the Digimon series so here’s my:

Digimon Hot-take

If any of Adventure Gang, 02 group, or Tamers met the digidestined/people with digivices from the games—they would feel awe and fear.

Purely off the fact that people in the Digimon Story DS games can have three digimon in front and three digimon in back to take over. Which would be insane to any of the digidestined who only have one partner digimon each. The closest thing to that, if I can remember correctly, was Impmon having two tamers instead of one. Except! It gets even crazier when you consider the Cyber Sleuths and Hudie Hackers can hold eleven total!

There’s the pesky party memory limit to consider in-game, but still eleven digimon a hacker or sleuth could carry in a their Digivice!

Maybe the fact the game Digivice holders have to collect data (experience) from other digimon is a factor in the wider carry limit. But, if I only ever saw people with a single digimon to them and then—bam!—here comes someone with a veritable army in their Digivice. The DS game humans especially must be frightening since they have to data farm specific digimon data. (Aquatic, Beast, Humanoid, Holy, etc…)

Okay. I am not immune to that ending. I had a feeling that one way or another Erika would have to go and live in the digital world to survive, but I didn’t anticipate the main character sending your digimon team with her, to keep her company and keep her safe.

It was as father and daughter were about to be blasted by sonic cannons that something neat miraculous occurred. A bright light emanated from Frankie’s phone—until something green came shooting out whipping up a mini-storm! The cannons were thrown off a direct hit, though both humans were pushed back as a consequence of the sudden displaced air.

As if planned—it most likely was—they and the creature that helped them were safely tucked into the elevator. Though, the escape was short lived as Vigil stalled it from moving up mere moments after it started to ascend. Frankie’s attempt to inform Cody of the situation was similarly disrupted… She managed to tell him about Vigil’s sudden actions at least!

…Ezra was a bit too preoccupied to be overly concerned, it wasn’t everyday a digital monster spawned to existence! He had been made aware of Ransom’s species exist a few weeks ago by his very presence. An entire species of digital beings who evolved based on factors of their care and environments. Entire evolution chains branching out in all kinds of directions!

Er. The griffin rock head scientist had been a bit overzealous in trying to examine Ransom and Cozy incurring extreme reluctance from both.

“This is…” The green feathered yet also slightly reptilian newcomer began, vocal tones easily indicating a more masculine range. “Not quite where I expected to find myself. Much less trapped in a box.” He noted, tilting his head as the horns on his… helmet/mask pulsed dimly.

Frankie looked at the digimon with some excitement as well. (It was cool and a little frustrating Cody got to have a dragon friend on top of living with four alien robots.) “Thanks for saving us anyway.” She expressed, taking one of the digimon’s arms in a sorta handshake. “That whirlwind shouldn’t have been able to reach the cannons before they fired, but it did! You’re a digimon, right?! We know about you. Ran—Hackmon and Pururumon live here.”

Ezra muffled a small laugh at how ecstatic his daughter was to meet another digimon. The way the poor bird’s feathers puffed up at the sudden action reminded him of a spooked cat.

“Ahem.” He coughed, managing to get Frankie to slacken her grip. “I am Pteromon. Given your phrasing, I assume neither of you are digimon?”Pteromon sounded perturbed at the very idea although quick on the uptake at least.

“Indeed!” Ezra confirmed. “We’re what you may know as humans—though I won’t presume about the Digital World’s education system. If there are any large schooling institutes…” Hopefully, he could get a few more answers out of Ransom on that world. Once the Hackmon stopped hoping into electronic devices whenever he was around the scientist that is.

Pteromon let out a slight squawk albeit very brief at the information. “Only in legends and it truly depends on the region of the Digital World itself. I spent most of my life soaring in the skies so I didn’t quite attend schooling.” The digimon clarified on the matter, voice indicating he was a bit shaken. He was about to say more until he noticed something odd. A bracelet like device was stuck on his foot…

Frankie noticed this and helped him get it off.

Only for the device to light up its screen.

‘Pteromon, rookie level bird dragon digimon. The horns on its head are sensory organs that it can acutely perceive even slight changes to the climate through. Extremely curious and sociable among other digimon, it always thinks about individuals it wants to fly alongside. It’s green feathers can regrow in an instant as a means of healing grievance wounds.’

“…Is this a Digivice?” Frankie couldn’t help asking, voice full of yearning as she recalled this function from Cody’s own version. The one she held reminded her of those fitness bracelets some people wore. Pteromon hummed tilting his head at this peculiar development.

When it came time to send the now deactivated Vigil to the island of misfit tech—the now three digimon present had opinions on the matter. Mainly that they all took to dismantling the automation system rather thoroughly. Vigil was reduced to scrap in no time at all with a hissing Ransom taking pleasure in shattering the bulb.

“I told Cody I was going to smash the next bit of untested tech! Plus, you were going to send something known for remote controlling tech to an island of unmonitored tech!” The Hackmon defended his decision to lead a three digimon riot. “Deactivated doesn’t mean forever off.”

Pteromon honestly suits Frankie pretty well in my opinion. She gets set aside a bit too much and deserves more screentime compared to what canon gives. Also again, Ransom has a valid point.

this boss fight is a test of patience without any panic barriers/DX equipment… (also lost my sanity with how many times matadormon kept spamming that fuckin panic status effect, I hate this fuckin vampire thing)
