thoughts on the morning show 3x09
- can’t believe we’re already on episode 9. this season is going by so fast.
- alex talking about the wildfires in california from season 1. makes sense given the spoilers 👀
- bradley, stella and chip plotting ❤️
- KYLE
- FRAMED PHOTO
- PAUL. I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO!!
- stella, noooooo! you revealed too much
- MAGGIE
- this alex and bradley scene is so good. we needed more of them together
- laura calling hal 👀
- what did laura expect? hal obviously wouldn’t have told her about being in dc. he doesn’t trust her so why should he. only bradley knows about it. 🙄
- the framed photo in the back ❤️
- amanda, thank you (or not. but I‘m so excited about this though) 👀
- laura telling bradley she should have fucked cory. I agree with her for once. 😅
- „he lied to the fbi. for you. that’s love.“
- my heart is breaking. crying bradley is not something I can live with 💔
- i get why laura is pissed but there’s also a lot of jealousy involved imo
- cybil is back!!
- they are definitely putting the framed photo in the shot on purpose
- elevator punching scene 🔥
- kyle getting cory some ice <3
- paul marks, I hate you! how did he find out all of this??
- bradley?! what are you doing? where did she go??
- stella being the one to show cory 🔥
- omg the elevator photo!! OMGGGGGG
- cory is looking to be on the verge of crying, right? i‘m not imagining that
- and he‘s being escorted out? cory 😭
- this episode was so good!!
- this is peak s1 energy and i‘m here for it 🔥

The 1980 heist comedy Wyatt was one of the first to actively reference Goncharov; director Mel Brooks was a fan and inserted a set piece where the band of thieves led by Wyatt Leigh (Burt Reynolds) and F.C. Jackson (Madeline Kahn) have to steal the priceless Portrait of Katya Goncharova so that master forger Simon Petheridge (Marty Feldman) can make a perfect copy of it to replace it with; Cybil Shepherd cameos as his assistant, whose resemblance to the painting’s subject ends up making the extremely difficult heist well-nigh pointless. Brooks had wanted to get Robert De Niro involved as well, but he was ironically enough filming his then-latest collaboration with Martin Scorsese, Raging Bull, at the time.

if anyone tries to watch any of the movies I took screencaps from to get the spirit of Goncharov they are going to have complete tonal whiplash. like yeah there's the godfather part ii and mean streets which are coppola and scorsese respectively they're going to have a certain feel. but there is also 1985's clue, the only board game to have a great adaptation to film. murder on the orient express, with an ensemble cast and is an agatha christie whodunnit. (the 1974 one I respect kenneth branagh but get that shit OUTTA HERE) but then there is also at long last love, where everyone is getting those screencaps of cybill shepherd, which is a 1975 jukebox musical with BURT REYNOLDS. I also had the deer hunter, john cazale's final film, which is three hours long and deeply saddening but there is a scene where robert de niro, christopher walken, john cazale, and john savage play pool and sing "can't take my eyes off you" which is my personal top 10 scenes because that song hasn't left my spotify wrapped in years. then there is moscow does not believe in tears, a 1980 russian film about three friends, primarily katerina, and first the three's attempts to find love and after a 20 year time jump, how their lives ended up and katerina's life as a factory director and single mother and I will not rest until you watch this movie. I put two screencaps from it in the post and the quote references the title you WILL watch it. "I've been looking for you for such a long time" BLOWS UP. I don't know what bridge of spies is about I didn't watch it I just wanted to find the scene that happens on a bridge because I remembered it from like Oscars stuff a few years back. scarecrow the movie where al pacino is looking distressed in that phone booth good lord so much happens in that movie. also gene hackman is there. also also the phone booth scene jesus christ the conversation that happens. anyway none of these movies are the same and the ones that are alike are barely alike and it's because of catholic guilt and robert de niro

Wait so did Cory make up an email to get Cybil kicked out ? Or was it really cybil ? Also does Cory have two pics of him and Bradley or does he keep moving it from the back to his desk ?
Thank you for sending in your ask.
I don’t think cory made up the email to get cybil kicked out. I think it all played into his hands. going back to episode 2, cybil wasn’t bothered about the hack and the private information of everyone working at uba getting out there. she also didn’t want to pay the ransom, which cory fought for.
so I think when earl came to him with the email, cory was like: “fuck it, let’s leak it.” It’s obvious he wanted to get rid of her and that was like the easiest way. didn’t cybil also confirm during the interview that she wrote it? still have to rewatch the episode, but I think she did.
and now to your second question <3
He does have two photos of bradley and him in his office. the one on the desk is a bit smaller than the one in the back. I absolutely love that there are now two pictures, even if it’s the same one.
my headcanon is that he kept turning around so much to look at the photo and kyle noticed so he went and got a copy of the photo made for cory’s desk. (this total happened, okay? i’m not going to accept anything else 😂)

Yeah, well, I keep telling you you gotta be more polite to folks. Hmm... That guy was probably some rich Italian count or something. Would've been a lot smarter than bettin' on Cotton Ball, being nice to him. That's a revolting thought. At Long Last Love (1975) dir. Peter Bogdanovich
