*Cyrian stepped out of his portal and walked next to Nathalyon, giving him a reassuring pat he walked to Mr.K and grabbed his magnifying glass hanging from his neck and strange writings started to appear on it as he took a closer look at his wings that got overcharged by magic*

This is the worse I've seen you be... *he sighed* I know your wings can absorb magic because you have some hidden magic due to your past, but friend... you have a limit... your magic has a limit... and you overstepped it... *scolds Kasian even though he can't really focus on words from the pain*

Cyrian's approach to his own gender and sexuality

Cyrian has always considered himself heteroromantic/sexual and cis ever since he has heard the terms, although the latter term would come later. Those were the simplest and seemed to best fit him, so he just went with them. But I think that his story presents things a bit differently.

Thing is, Cyrian was not born, he was created. He is a statue that has came to life, one that was built to be genderless in appearance. Although this statue was left unfinished at the time, part of its face and hands still blocky.

Cyrian would give himself that name and began to use he/him after he finished what would be his favorite book at the time - copying the protagonist of that one book in both cases.

He would later carve the parts of himself that were not finished, creating marks that appear scar-like due to his lack of knowledge in sculpting and lack of dexterity in his movements. He gave himself an extra joint in his fingers, which he also made much too pointy. He knew he didn't do as good of a job as the sculptor that made the rest of him, but he was proud of being able to achieve such a thing in the first place.

As his story goes, this would lead into him being avoided by and scaring people; thus falling into the lies of those that wanted to use him and 'rectify a mistake' by fully trapping the eldritch entity within Cyrian and turning him back into a simple statue.

Of course, they failed and Cyrian would eventually learn to accept and use his monstrous appearance to fuel his new thirst for power. While at the same time he began to hide his face and hands, only to show glimpses of them as an intimidation tactic.

During all this time, he never reflected on his gender and sexuality. Those didn't seem important to him. But he did learn about people that were not hetero and that were not cis and he understood that some, much like him, found themselves 'unfinished'. That is when he was made aware of the term 'cis' and found it most fitting for himself.

When Cyrian says he doesn't understand gender and sexuality outside the labels he chose of himself, he does not say he doesn't understand what it means to become something you want to be - he simply does not understand the terminology and what it is supposed to represent. He is not repulsed, disgusted or even made slightly uncomfortable by the LGBTQ+ community. He just isn't aware of the lingo.

But even after finding information about all of this, he never took time to question if he might be part of it in any way. To him, he's always been hetero and cis because he took the figurative face of a person from high society that besides being slightly eccentric in appearance with the use of his mask, was like the fabricated image of the majority/'default'.

While he did embrace the image of being a monster, of being something other than a person, of being a cruel being, he has never thought of what he is when all of those layers are stripped. He's never thought of what he might be if he ever found himself attracted to somebody androgynous/not fully female.

Because he's never had the time to. Because he was too caught up in finding a way to keep himself safe from those that would hurt him.

AU idea: rather than a statue that houses an eldritch being, Cyrian is a "normal" human that is haunted by said eldritch entity when he meets Yeshua. No powers, no political stance, no control over this thing lached onto him. Just a man hurting, attempting to survive. Maybe even terrorizing a small town and getting Yeshia's attention that way
