(i am going to tell you about compelling cytus 2 straight relationships) (my headcanons might get mixed in because its been 2 years since i read the lore and i dont feel like reading the 1000+ page transcription rn)

ALSO SPOILER WARNING FOR THE CYTUS 2 STORY

OK STARTING OFF WITH MY FAVOURITE ONE. CONNER X SASHA

incredibly egotistical guy (conner) who thinks hes better than everyone else meets his match in an academic setting but cant talk to her (sasha) because she graduates early and leaves. therefore he does the perfectly normal thing of stealing identity information of a bunch of random citizens from the government to sell on the black market bc sasha is also there as a mole for the police. he acts super incompetent to make her feel bad and help him sell the information for the best price and they end up forming a partnership for a while. their final job goes wrong as the police busts in and doesnt believe sasha when she says shes also part of the police bc her captain deleted her civilian identity file as part of the mission and that guy died in the raid so shes cooked. conner saves her at the last second and, dropping the act, tells her that he saved a copy of her civilian file and will be driving her to the nearest city and she can choose what she wants to do from there. shes super mad at him for decieving her but is grateful for the out that hes given her and leaves for the city with no internet to start fresh, assuming they would never see each other again. fast forward to the Plot and conner seeks her out again for help on some stuff and their modern dynamic is conner going "youre so cool and awesome haha...... we were such a good team back in the day....... you should run away with me" and sasha is like "no." its completely played for comedy (in my understanding) since the writing makes it clear that sasha has put her old life behind and only humours conner because hes an old friend (its been several years since the deception thing so i would assume she made peace with it and came to the conclusion that overall conner is chill) but she has a life of her own now. meanwhile shes the closest thing conner has ever had to a friend because shes the only (alive) person he sees as an equal so even though he knows its futile, he tries to convince her to come with him anyway. they were never really together and will never be together, and thats what makes their relationship interesting.

next up........ cherry x xenon !

this one is fun bc they start the story as exes. they dated when they were younger but broke up for reasons i can only describe as "her dad killed his dad and that really puts a strain on a relationship yk". basically cherrys dad got involved with organized crime after her mom died and he lost his job and xenons dad is a cop who was investigating said organized crime so they got into a Conflict and cherrys dad ended up killing xenons dad and severely injuring his sister. cherry also never told xenon abt this during their relationship bc its a bit difficult to bring up the whole "my dad does crime and sometimes i do it too" to the guy whos dad is a cop. the way they find out what happened is a bit. well funny isnt the right word but basically xenon is like "MY DAD AND SISTER GOT SHOT" and cherry was like "OH NO THATS HORRIBLE" so they rush to the hospital to visit them and see a news report about the incident and the perpetrator getting arrested and cherrys like "oh..............." they got in a huge fight after that and justifiably break up but deep down they still love each other and just. havent talked about it for several years after that. later some Plot stuff happens, they kinda reconcile a little bit, and cherry ends up injured in a fight. they were chilling at a base with really good medical facilities tho so the boss was like "here stay in this Healing Tube for a while and youll be fine" but uh oh! the evil bad guys attack and turn off all of the power in the base, including cherrys life support, and they turn the power back on too late so she dies and xenon is completely devastated over it because they never properly reconciled (i think there was something like he never said "i love you"? but i will have to reread lore to confirm. huge angst moment if true tho). i think they have an interesting arc in its tragedy. is it kinda contrived? yeah. but i think its thematically appropriate for the relationship where the whole thing is that something always went unsaid (first the crime thing, then how they actually still liked each other) ended with something unsaid, yk.

side note: theres even more tragedy to the situation considering the way they turned the power back on. ok basically theres a 12 year old girl named nora (shes the aforementioned boss) (shes a mafia boss) (its a long story) and she was experimented on as a baby and left to die to The Virus when the experiment failed but she survived and the scientists were like "holy crap can she be the key to a cure!?" so they took her back to the lab and raised her. shes disabled due to the initial experiments requiring her legs to be amputated and also happens to be mute but shes a genius so she built a robot to talk for her since she was stuck in her room all day (no one figured it was a good idea to give her mobility aids until several years down the line) (their idea of parenting was also like. playing chess with her once in a while). she also got into making edm songs for a while. later, she makes a robot known to the players as robo_head to be her bodyguard since they figure out that the virus gave her powers to see/hear through any camera or microphone connected to the internet and decide to use it for profit by touting her as an "oracle". now is a good time to mention that cytus 2 is a science.... fantasy? story where everyone has a brain chip to connect to the internet. anyways the more nora uses her powers the worse her eyesight gets and its also generally harmful to her health. robo_head is basically her only friend and she ends up having to send him off for reasons i wont get into rn and somewhere down the line he gains sentience and makes his way back to her. nora is enraged that he came back at first but after some persistence she lets him in and finds out about these developments, and is ultimately happy to have her friend back. when the power gets cut, robo_head knows that cherry needs help and volunteers to use himself as the power source which would essentially fry his circuits. nora refuses at first since she just got him back, but understands the importance of saving cherry so she ends up agreeing. unfortunately, its too late, so basically two people had to die for no reason ! (luckily nora ends up being able to fix robo_head after the end of the game but he was Gone for a while)

OK TANGENT OVER. BACK TO SHIPS. UHH sagar and rin are a thing

there was lore im pretty sure but i forgot so all i remember is that sagar is a pretty confident guy except when he has to talk to rin, in which cases he loses all of his skills ever and his dialogue mainly consists of "ummm uhm uhhh" and rin is also too nervous to notice how unskilled sagar is being. this is the only couple who gets a happy ending btw

honourable mention: whatever ilka(?) and rald had going on. classic nonhuman who is fascinated with humanity via one specific guy x guy who is unintentionally being very attractive. idk. i would tell you more about it but my dlcs are LOCKED and TAKEN AWAY from me 👎

there are also many gay ships but one of them is literally the plot of the game so it would make this post even longer if i started talking about them lmao

How about characters actions when their partner is a diabetic?

This is probably the longest post I’ve made and I’m so sure I may have gotten some things wrong, but here we go!

Cytus Characters With a Diabetic S/O

Aroma/PAFF

-So I like to think that PAFF has probably the best healthcare and will get you on that plan ASAP

Insulin is expensive, that she knows

If she can bring down the costs for you, she’ll do it

Hell she might as well buy your medication She does by the way

-You cannot convince me that Aroma does not have a planner

Inside it is her schedule for meetings, interviews, concerts, etc.

But she always makes time for you

Especially to make sure you’re eating on a consistent schedule and checking your levels

Will move everything around her schedule when you mention that you have a doctor’s appointment coming up

Will also attend said appointments to make you more comfortable

-She is aware of what you can or can’t eat

Sometimes when you have dinner with her and Helena, she helps cook

This is to make sure Helena doesn’t do anything that could make your levels too high or too low

Of course she always asks for your input

-Overall a loving and supportive partner to her S/O

Neko

-Let’s be real, she’s not the best equipped to help

-But as long as you explain to her what she should do, she’ll be fine. Maybe.

-Will hound you about your insulin and levels if she suspects something off

“Don’t lie to me Y/N! Nothing gets past Neko!”

If you thought she was annoying before, she will be even more annoying if you even forget for a nanosecond

Sometimes she forgets though, especially in between streams and making music

-Please help Neko understand it more so she’s not constantly panicking about your health

-Honestly she does her best to help, but you’ll have to give her reminders to relax from time to time

Nora & ROBO_Head

-Nora knows how challenging something like diabetes can be to have

She doesn’t have it, but considering that the Ender virus took her ability to walk, she at least shares the sentiment

-She programs ROBO to have an alarm when it’s time to check your levels and take your insulin

-She can also be pretty strict when it comes to your diet/meal plan

You’re always allowed to give her feedback, but you can also tell her to tone it down if you think it’s too strict

It’ll take some time to adjust, but she will listen to you

-Where Nora is lacking in emotion, ROBO picks up the speed for her

On days where you beat yourself up, he’ll play you some music he made to make you feel better

His screen will show a pixelated heart to let you know that he loves you

Nora understands that it’s hard to keep everything balanced and in check, so she reminds you that there is always tomorrow to do it right

Ivy

-Walking database based on everything she’s been seeing on the cyTus network

-Let’s not forget that she is slowly gaining a “human” side to her as her research went on

She’s protected humans in the past from dangerous situations

So to see that she is protective around you is not surprising

-I think when you two are in private, she knows you can take care of yourself just fine

-It’s when you’re out in public going to a restaurant that she starts to worry

She will make it clear to the staff of any changes you would want to the item you want to eat

She may not be a Karen, but she can probably exert that energy off to the staff

You’ll probably need to talk to her about letting you do the talking when it comes to ordering your food from now on

But be patient, she’s still pretty new to this

Crystal PUNK/Cherry

-Sherri has some family that are diabetic, so she knows what they go through

That doesn’t mean their experiences are the exact same as yours

-She doesn’t hover over you about your diet or when to take your insulin

You should know how to take care of yourself

Will give you small reminders just in case you forget though

-Cooking dates will become a thing

She wants to learn how to make your favorite foods

She also wants to learn more about what you can and can’t eat

Please give her kisses for a good job

-Overall she won’t baby you about it and knows you’re able to take care of yourself

Vanessa

-So let’s say Vanessa survived the final events of the game and Ivy & PAFF were able to fix both her body and core

She’s back to being kind hearted and more stable than she ever has been before

She was also able to escape from A.R.C since they were using her to keep the cyTus network up and running

-Years of knowledge don’t necessarily prepare her to help with diabetes

It may have been around since her time or it may have developed after The Decommission, I don’t have the answers exactly

Regardless, she’s just not prepared

You’ll have to tell her more about it and how it affects you

-Despite being unprepared, she is more than willing to put in the effort and help you live a normal life

As normal as it can be since she’s still recovering from what happened to her

She’ll most likely go to Ivy for help since Ivy has lived upon humans longer than her

-Chances are with time, she will know more based on your experiences and anything she’s researched with the help of Ivy

Xenon

-First thing’s first- teach him about diabetes!

I promise he wants to learn more about it and how it affects you

Is it Type 1? Type 2?

What type of medicine do you take and how many times a day?

Is there any food you can’t eat at all?

Tell him everything please-

-You bet he made a spreadsheet and spent the next few nights researching everything he could find on diabetes

-He can’t go to your doctor appointments most of the time since work keeps him busy, but when he does he asks them multiple questions

Cares so much about your health, even if it sounds like he’s being rude to them

-Will help you with formulating a good diet based off what he knows about diabetes and what the doctor recommends

Obviously you’ll have to give him some input since you know your body the best

-Has a schedule on when you should check your levels in case you forget

ConneR

-Very knowledgeable man, we love that

He has no knowledge of how diabetes works and assumed the worst when you told him

You had to inform him of how it actually works and how it’s affecting you on a daily basis

-Now he doesn’t panic, but he sure was worried for a second there

-You know, he would be extra and write a whole ass song for you

It’s based on your experiences and everything you’ve told him about diabetes

He’ll play it for you when you’re having a bad day or feeling upset about having to deal with it

-Tea time is his favorite time of day with you

He does love a good cake with his tea, but he won’t have it around you

-He’s also not afraid to correct anyone who spreads misinformation about diabetes

Why anyone would do that, he has no clue

He’ll go after them though, that shit is not allowed so long as he lives on the internet

Joe

-My man respects the fuck out of you!

You cannot look in his eyes and not see how much love he has for you!

-With that being said, he’s stupid and has on occasion slipped up on what you can’t eat when he’s cooking dinner

I think it calls for good job kisses and cuddles

OK FIRST OF ALL. why does this guy have 7485382002 names. like i guess you can do that For Fun because you Want To but itd be more interesting if its bc hes trans and was trying out different names/likes multiple so he goes by multiple. its canon that his legal name is colin but he just. goes by conner online and sometimes irl. his alias is also R or rald and im Pretty Sure he got one of those bc sasha (the first person he met on the black market) was like "bro why are you doxxing yourself..... heres a fake name just tell ppl that instead". so bro is just colin/conner/rald/r depending on who hes talking to which is cool both as canon character building and meshes well with a trans headcanon! i too have different names depending on who im talking to just bc of the backstory of our relationship so. #relatable

the reason he easily passes as a cis man is bc his family is rich and he could get all of the gender affirming care he needs, plus he started hrt when he was like 12. side note, in my headcanon his father may be abusive but he isnt transphobic! like in a "no daughter of mine only gets 99 on the exam!!!" "im a boy" "no SON of mine only gets 99 on the exam!!!!" way yk. at the present day in the timeline he is 90% satisfied with his transition, the only thing hes missing is phalloplasty and the reason he hasnt gotten it yet is bc the recovery time is too long and hes got stuff to do (bros out in the wilderness most of the time exploring ruins and exposing history that the government tried to hide, he doesnt have time to make sure everything heals properly and doesnt get infected for 3 months. the only time hes properly recovered from surgery was when ARC kidnapped him for knowing too much and they needed to blow up his right side to do that, so they did sci fi surgery to give him permanent prostheses, which he did not consent to and also didnt want. <- thats canon btw, in my headcanon specifically after he was mad abt that he was also like "WDYM YOU DIDNT ALSO DO BOTTOM SURGERY WHILE YOU WERE THERE. some details i would like to elaborate on:

i transed his gender :)

started hrt after the sasha thing and imagines it as a farewell gift from her bc it was using the money he made while working with her

his prosthetic arm is not removable without surgery, theres a shell/cover that you can take off but theres an endoskeleton like thing underneath that is connected to his body with wires n metal and stuff. if he tries to take it out himself (which. he has definitely tried) its gonna be really painful and he might get electrocuted

the harness is there to make it easier on his shoulder and thats removable

his prosthetic eye glows in the dark bc cool sci fi aesthetic. its also part of why he hates it, other than the wanting to look at the world "authentically" thing. which, considering how sus arc and the tech is, yeah thats fair

scars from repeatedly scraped knees bc i have those and i feel like he was very active and ran around (and fell) a lot as a child

scars are all from exploring when he was younger and less experienced. now he can navigate the terrain well and also has better medical supplies

despite that, he often forgets to wear sunscreen. also the thing about looking old due to severe lack of skincare is canon, i think its mentioned in the cherry dlc

his (flesh) hand is pretty scarred, he used to not wear gloves and had to break a couple of nasty falls

You know choosing 3 of my favorite characters is difficult when I love all of them-

Bringing Home a Tiny Kitten!

Sagar -Something about cute animals makes him become a dad

Take Bobo for instance- that is his actual son

-So when S/O brings home a kitten, he’s not saying no

“We should take it to the vet, get it some fresh water, buy cat food- would Bobo like sharing his toys?”

-Baby kitten is healthy, she’s just a little underweight

Sagar can fix this

-Overall, if he wasn’t working for A.R.C. he would be working at a rescue or make his own rescue for animals

ConneR

-It takes a lot of convincing to get Colin Neumann Jr. to say yes to a single thing his S/O wants -So when they decide to bring home a kitten one day during a thunderstorm, Colin was hesitant on keeping it

“Darling, who’s going to take care of her while we’re working?”

“Do you know what type of food it eats?”

“Are you going to take it to routine appointments with the vet?”

You think he could be a private investigator with all of these questions he’s asking

-They go back and forth for a full 2 minutes before the kitten meows at them

He looks down and notices its big round eyes

That meow may or may not have pulled at his heartstrings

-“We’ll keep her for tonight” -They end up keeping her forever

Nora -Robo brought up the idea at first

She immediately said no

-Nora works practically 24/7 unless S/O puts her to bed -Bringing a kitten into the workplace was not the greatest idea

She’s in the middle of a new project when S/O walks in and hides the baby behind their back

“Hey Nora...”

“No.”

-Alright, so they went back and forth for quite a while

Nora kept refusing to keep the kitten

She’s pretty stubborn once she sets her mind to something

It’s surprising how sometimes S/O or even Robo can break through her walls

-S/O gets tired of arguing and puts the kitten in her lap

The second he starts purring, she stops her complaining and reaches down to pet him

Perhaps she could use a cat around the office

-Cat now roams around the office, and everyone loves him
