I can’t believe the princesses represent the 7 kinds of gay people:
- Anxious and Confused
- Goth
- Mommy Issues
- Furry
- Chronically in Pain
- Badass and Cool
- Doc Ock

rosamund using her briars as a bow. cinderella’s glass slipper being a shard of glass used against the fairy. you can’t change your fate when it’s already written for you but you can take the things meant to hurt you and use them as a weapon.

Princesses
[ID: a digital illustration of Rosamund Du Prix and Cinderella from Dimension 20 neverafter. Cinderella is holding a sword and standing above the roots of thorns that grow behind her and are seen through her armor. Rosamund looks at her while stepping away from a blanket. She is wearing a light purple dress that is tattered but clean, and has her hair in a braid. The illustration has a pink border with roses and thorns.]

I love that right now it feels like ylfa is in opposition to Cinderella in their goals. Like, Cinderella is desperate to get out of her story so she can have her mother back, she’s so against the regular beats of her story because it’s brought her so much pain. On the contrary, ylfa is desperate to get back to her “normal” and “correct” story because the one she’s being forced to live causes her so much pain.
Is there a right answer? They both deserve happiness as much as the other. But I find a bit of my answer in little ms muffet, who chooses having a spider for a head over her fear, and a little more of my answer is the brilliant role playing of Emily axford, who as ylfa insists she is the corrupting force and that she has done something wrong, that there is a fundamental problem with her when as we’ve already learned there’s actually a fundamental problem with the world.
Will ylfa and Cinderella get their own happy endings? Does this post make sense? Will senator the ram ever return? I guess we’ll never know.

My read on the Princess situation is that there is a terrible confluence of clinical depression and cult of personality.
They are all so disempowered and traumatised and aware of the unfairness surrounding their lives on a multiversal scale. It's knowledge that crushes them and makes an already hellish existence so much worse.
They are also princesses. Main characters with all the charisma and expectations that come with that. Of course it's them trying to do something in this situation, who else would it be? Town person B whose whole existence is to stand there and clap when a princess's wedding parade goes past.
They say they're fighting to put an end to all of it, to erase existence so that something new might be written. And there is such tremendous hubris in that. This idea that they will wipe everything out and then of course the beings, The Author's that wrote them, will write something new and kinder. Because that's what happens in stories when the heroes sacrifice themselves right?

Princesses we can trust: Rosamund (obviously), Elody and Mira
Princesses we’re on the fence with: La Bête, Cinderella, Snow White
Princesses we can’t trust: Rapunzel
