You returned to your chambers after a long day, desperate for nothing more than a long, hot bath and the soft furs of the bed you shared with your husband. You had spent the day with your good sister Helaena. Though once only sisters through friendship, you were truly sisters now after the marriage to her younger brother.
As you opened the doors to your chambers, it was unusually quiet. You closed the door behind you, listening to the crackling of the hearth. You spot the back of Aemond’s head, seated on the settee facing the dancing flames. His head is angled downwards; no doubt he has stayed up late with his nose in a book as you often find him.
Though he never admits it after the fact, you’d caught him on more than one occasion fast asleep on the settee or in his chair, a book open-faced in his lap.
You smile softly as you approach, careful not to startle him.
“My love…” you call softly, to which Aemond turns his head.
He purses his lips slightly, bringing a hand to his mouth shushing you. Your eyebrows concave together in confusion, which ebbs as you walk closer. Aemond has forgotten his usual book this evening; instead, your sleeping daughter rests her head on his lap, fast asleep, her small chest rising and falling with each breath.
Her silver curls are splayed every which way, her nose whistling with every breath she exhales.
“It is late my love,” you playfully tease, keeping your voice a low whisper so as not to wake her.
“I know,” Aemond says, his voice just as soft, “We lost track of time.”
You smile, walking behind him to place your hands on his shoulders. Though only in her fourth year of life, your little dragon has the Targaryen prince wrapped around her little finger. Aemond brings a hand to rest on top of yours, pulling it from his shoulder and pressing a gentle kiss on the back of your hand.
“Did you have a nice time?” he murmurs against the back of your hand, his breath causing gooseflesh to appear.
You hum in response. “I did. You know how I enjoy spending time with Helaena. Though I must admit, my legs do ache.”
You had spent most of the day walking through the gardens with the princess, helping her add to her collection of curious creatures and oddities. You loved Helaena’s hobbies and were more than happy to indulge her. But the day was long under the hot summer sun, and it left you eager for bed.
“Shall I call for someone to draw you a bath?” Aemond asks as you lean to rest your chin on his shoulder.
“It tis alright,” you assure him, “Do not trouble yourself.”
“It is no trouble, you know this,” he insists, glancing at you sideways. You made sure to rest upon the shoulder where he can see you with his functioning eye.
You remove your hand from him, caressing the leather eyepatch he wears.
“You must be uncomfortable,” you tell him softly, stroking the worn leather. It begins to irritate him on days such as this one when the heat causes the leather to chafe the skin of his cheek.
The weather is strange these days, getting so hot during the day and then dropping significantly during the night. Aemond’s violet eye flickers down at your sleeping child. How perfect she looks, the perfect combination of both of you. A miracle made of your love. You sense his hesitation.
“She shall not be afraid, my love,” you assure him.
“How can you know?” he says, looking down away from your comforting gaze.
Aemond had always been fearful of how others reacted to his injury. You remembered in your youth before he had begun courting you, how you’d learned of why he wore the patch. It was Helaena who informed you that Aemond wished to not frighten the ladies of the court.
“Prince Aemond should not wish for a weak stomached woman anyhow,” you had snapped, as other ladies had snickered at his injury. “Women say they wish to marry a warrior, then faint at the scars from battle. How distasteful.”
Helaena had told Aemond how you’d come to his defense. You’d been the apple of the Prince’s eye ever since. Well, until the birth of your little one. Two women now completely owned the dragon prince’s heart.
“A mother’s intuition,” you assure him, moving to remove the patch. Aemond freezes for a moment but relaxes into your touch as you place the eyepatch on the table, revealing his magnificent sapphire.
You stroke your finger along the scar, admiring how the sapphire reflects the light from the hearth.
“My dragon,” you murmur, cupping his sharp chin in your hand, and pressing a gentle kiss to the scarred tissue.
Aemond sighs, his chest rumbling. You can see a flicker of desire in his violet eye at your praise. Your daughter stirs then, perfect face scrunching as her pale lashes flutter open. She looks up at you with wide violet eyes before throwing her small arms around your neck.
“Muña!” she says sleepily, arms heavy around your neck.
“Hello my love,” you softly croon, pulling her completely into your arms, “How was your day?”
She buries her face into the crook of your neck and you inhale the lilac scent of her hair. How you enjoy the moments with your companions, but oh how you miss your daughter by the end.
“We went exploring all day! And we went flying on Vhagar,” she chatters away, “Sunfyre even joined us! Kepus flew right next to us!”
“Did he now?” you ask with a chuckle. Aegon was a surprisingly delightful uncle.
Aemond stands then, still facing slightly away. You reach for his hand, pulling him closer. Your daughter looks at him, the smile never leaving her face. Aemond turns his head slowly, revealing the scarred tissue and brilliant sapphire. You hold your breath, waiting for your little girl’s reaction.
She stares, unblinking, before reaching out to touch his face.
“Blue is my favorite color,” she informs, turning back to you, “Did you know Sunfyre likes to sing? I don’t think Vhagar enjoys singing, her songs are rather deep. It shakes the windows of the Keep! Muñāzma was quite cross with her!”
You glance at your husband, watching his cheeks turn red. You smile so brightly that your cheeks begin to ache. There was never anything for him to fear. She adores him all the same.
As do you.

Daddy’s Girl
HEADCANON
PAIRING: Dad!Aemond Targaryen x fem!Reader | Dad!Aegon ii Targaryen x fem!Reader
WORDS: 1,774.
SUMMARY: Rough ideas of the Targaryen princes as fathers to their first, newborn daughters.
WARNINGS: fluff, swearing, overprotective!Aemond, overprotective!Aegon, reckless Aegon, lactation kink, breeding kink, slight praise kink.
A/N - Ya’ll knew this was coming surely... I can’t get enough of this domestic shit!!! Dad!Aemond has me in a chokehold and simultaneously, Dad!Aegon has my back arched, wtf do I do?!
AEMOND TARGARYEN:
Tumblr media
When Aemond saw and held his tiny little daughter for the very first time, it was like love at first sight.
He didn't know how anything so small, so precious could bring out all these intense feelings in him, and yet here she was in all her glory.
She was the apple of her father's eye, they were obsessed with each other.
He actually wouldn’t fly her on Vhagar when she’s just a newborn, he would want to wait it out. Considering his first flight was very turbulent, he would never put his daughter at risk.
She is his “byka prince” [little princess].
Aemond definitely selects her little outfits, if you both stroll around markets or attend royal visits to various other places, and he sees something he adores, he’ll buy it for her. If he sees a particular material/pattern and colour he likes, he orders the servants to have it made for his little princess. Even toys, he’ll have them hand-crafted, a small, hand-painted dragon for his little girl, it would be a miniature Vhagar.
No doubt, he dresses her in the Targaryen colours or even occasionally Green, in honour of his mother.
If she cries during the night, he’s usually the first to awake and check (he does not mind, one bit). He reasons with you saying “You did give birth to her, so your hard part is done now it’s my turn, issa jorrāelagon [my love].”
Immediately, she falls asleep after he cradles her for some time, sometimes you even hear him humming a song. On the off chance, that she doesn't settle, it’s often because she either is hungry and needs feeding, or she needs a nappy change.
Aemond would be so bad at nappy changes, although he’s willing to try and gradually gets the gist of it. He doesn’t mind the dirty work.
He loves to bathe his little princess, he only lets you and himself, maybe even Alicent if she’s free and willing to.
Aemond would definitely do that skin-to-skin touch, when she’s a newborn: he wants her to get familiar to his touch and scent, in case he has responsibilities and duties he needs to attend to as Prince Regent.
The thought of his daughter not recognising him or resembling him to a stranger terrifies him.
Overprotective is an understatement.
Aemond will literally kill anyone that even dares to hurt or speak ill of his daughter.
Once she starts walking, growing into her toddler phase, she becomes more active and involved. She’ll literally fall and trip over herself (and you’ll be okay with it, and Aemond would just be losing his shit), and if another child is present, he’ll even scold them.
If he sees a graze or cut or a tiny, spectacle of blood on her, it’ll be the end of the fucking world.
Having lost his eye, he would never forgive himself if she ever has to endure pain or trauma like that.
You try to reason with Aemond, that part of parenting you need to teach resilience and the ability to ‘bounce back’ although, Aemond’s not having it. So much to your disapproval, your daughter will definitely grow up spoilt and protected.
Now that Aemond can hold her appropriately, and she can seat herself properly, he mounts her on Vhagar with him and take flight. At first, she's terrified of the height, although seeing how happy and comfortable Aemond is, she reads him so well and starts to enjoy it too.
They literally have their own language, they can read minds. Aemond doesn't even need to ask or probe his little girl about what she wants, he just knows. Some water? Here you go. Some sweets? There you go, princess.
He teaches her Valyrian at such a small age, as soon as she starts verbalising, that she eventually becomes more fluent than you.
She definitely has Aemond’s Targaryen hair and lilac eyes, although your features, which Aemond fucking loves.
He definitely takes care of her hair, has his own routine for it, just as he maintains his own. He even learns how to properly braid her hair.
Aemond is so relieved and impressed that his daughter is not at all afraid of his missing eye, and the sapphire that replaces it. At times, she even tries to touch and grab at it, and he has to pull her away, otherwise she just smiles lovingly and laughs at him.
She's the only one (besides yourself) that can genuinely make Aemond smile, like if he's having a shit day, as soon as he sees her (even if she's asleep in her cradle), that’s enough to warm him.
Aemond loves and accepts your body changes, he reassures you when you feel insecure, that your body performed a miracle, and that you grew his child effortlessly.
He definitely watches you breastfeeding and has no shame: something about the way that only you can provide for her, makes him feral.
The man has a lactation kink, 100%, once he knows he’s daughter has been fed, and now that she can start tolerating solid feeds, he spoils himself to your milk. He finds the sweet, creamy taste delicious.
Nonetheless, he knows for certain he needs to have another child with you immediately, and won’t stop until he sees your belly swell.
AEGON ii TARGARYEN:
Tumblr media
Aegon would be so nervous having a little girl at first.
The history with women that he's had and the poor treatment he had previously shown, he is aware was unacceptable and since having met you, he has changed.
Although, his past would haunt him regardless.
He did remain by your side during the birth, and when the maester declared a daughter, he was in a state of shock.
He wouldn't completely withdraw himself from you nor the babe, he loved you too dearly to do that. And seeing how well you were with her, and how warm your daughter was with you, he slowly started to gain confidence in himself.
You’d help him get used to holding her, demonstrating the correct technique, for she was so tiny against his body, he kept fearing that he’d drop her or hurt her in his grip.
He actually even stopped drinking completely now, he didn’t want to risk being tipsy, in case he had to hold her.
Nonetheless, he became an absolute pro.
He even begged to take her on Sunfyre with him, although you were still quite anxious for she was so small.
Somehow, he convinced you for just a quick, short flight: he trusted Sunfyre with his life, and he knew the dragon would nurture and protect his daughter too.
You would watch from the ground in complete silence, just anxious although, as soon as he landed and dismounted with the babe still nestled and settled in his arms, you were quite surprised.
Aegon would be so proud of himself, it boosts his ego.
He would always regularly check up on her, even if he only just saw her 10 minutes ago.
“Aegon she's been asleep in her crib for the past hour, nothing has changed, why do you feel the need to look?”
He can’t help himself, you’ve come to find it’s as though a switch has flicked on for him, he’s become so protective over you and the babe, he can’t stand leaving you two alone.
“But she needs me...” He’ll say, as he just stares at her asleep in absolute awe that he helped to make this angel.
She definitely looks more like her Dad, soft, gentle features with the Targaryen traits. She literally looks like an angel.
She has Aegon’s plump cheeks and he’s always just kissing and nibbling at them.
Aegon loves how everyone fawns over her, including his mother. In a way, it makes him feel accomplished.
Nonetheless, as soon as she’s more involved and interactive, she never wants to leave Aegon’s side. Like she clings to him throughout the day, and cries for him if he isn't around.
You’ve come to accept that she's an absolute Daddy’s Girl, he’ll carry her around to his council meetings, and she'll bury her face in his chest or the crook of his neck when he tries to get her to greet other lords with him, although she’s too shy.
Most of the time she even chills on his lap when he sits the Iron Throne. Listening and ordering his subjects for the day, she often remains unphased, although occasionally she’ll try to grab his attention by playing with his hair or trying to touch his crown. That’s when you come in and take her.
On the days that she is not around, if he has urgent or serious matters to attend (no place for a babe), he feels so empty without her presence there, and feels something is missing. He itches to get back to you both.
Aegon definitely struggles to be hands on, he hates the dirty work of nappy changes and sometimes begs for you to do it. Although, you both have agreements and take turns with bathing her, or if she cries in the night, Aegon does see to her (although struggles to awake and gradually gets to her).
As random as this is, Aegon would definitely have a Dad!bod and no one can change my mind. The drinking caught up although, his daughter sneaking in sweets to feed her Daddy whilst they chill on the throne doesn't help either. (Aemond will be the type to keep up with his regular training, Aegon struggles with all the responsibilities, although still trains not as often).
You find Aegon blowing raspberries on his daughter’s stomach, and it makes her laugh like no tomorrow.
He definitely tells you openly that he wants more children now.
“Perhaps a son?” He suggests and you reassure him, that is completely out of your control and “Upto the Gods.”
As soon as your healed from the birth, Aegon is fucking eager to get onto you, and his breeding kink shows.
He moans how he can’t wait to see your belly swell with his child, another angel: he loves the idea that people will think scandalously of how quick you’ve become pregnant again. Aegon does not care though.
He even prefers your postpartum body and idolises the changes: he loves how big your tits and ass are, only for his own pleasures.
During the night he'll leave his cock inside of you, making sure he seizes every opportunity to impregnate you.
You are so proud of the father Aegon has stepped up to be, and you make it known to him, he favours your praise above anyone else.

In the first months of Aemond's return to King's Landing, he never removes the patch around his children. He is afraid of their reaction to seeing his scar and that he lacks an eye. He is sure that Aemon and Baelon will be afraid if they see him and he could not bear his children to be afraid of him again. He does not want to return to the first days of his return where they cried every time he tried to raise them. So he always has the patch. It doesn't matter how many times you insist on your husband who took it out when you four are alone and you assure you that nothing bad will happen, he doesn't want to risk it.
Until a warm day, Aemond can no longer bear the patch and decides to remove it for a moment just because Aemon is asleep in his lap and plans to put it back before his son wakes up. Aemond is so absorbed in his reading that he does not realize that Aemon is awake until he feels a small hand touching his face. The prince looks at him expectantly, ready to listen to a cry or a scream but that doesn't happen.
And when you enter the chambers and you find one of your children standing in your husband's lap trying to remove the sapphire from his eye you cannot help laughing. You are not surprised after all, your children seem obsessed with playing and playing with the sapphire of your necklace.
Later when Baelon returns from spending the afternoon with his grandmother and Aemond has his patch again. You and your husband are sitting on the floor playing with the twins when Aemon proudly shows his twin his new discovery, raising the Aemond patch and exposing the sapphire. You notice how your husband is tense fearing that maybe Baelon reacted badly and smiled at him waiting to give him a little confidence.
Then Baelon shouts excitedly and now it is both twins who try to remove their dad's sapphire.
You laugh while you get up and rise to Baelon moving away from Aemond.
"I told you that you had nothing to worry about," you say smiling and dodging Baelon's little kicks.
To the consternation of Aemon, your husband also gets out on the floor. He looks at him for a moment before playing with his other toys.
"Do you want me to tell you that this time you were right?" says Aemond, taking Baelon away from you, he would rather suffer from a kick than you end up hurt.
"I'm always right"
"No, you don't."
Before you can complain Aemond kisses you making you forget about any thoughts.

Moonbloom
Tumblr media
Summary: Your daughter accompanies Aemond through the various stages of your pregnancy.
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x fem!reader
Warnings: Pure fluff. Dad Aemond.
A/N: Can be read as part 2 of Of Flowers & Dragons, but also as a stand-alone. Hope you enjoy it!
Word count: 1.5k
It had been decided the previous day with Aemond that you’d tell her today.
The maesters had advised against it in case something went wrong as it had only been a couple of moons, but after weeks of withholding such information, today felt like the appropriate day.
Besides, you were starting to show.
Thankfully, Aemond was around already spending time with your daughter in the Red Keep’s gardens.
Targaryens took to the skies on their dragons, but she insisted on having her hands in soil and dirt, bringing seeds to life.
You watched from the balcony as your daughter of six knelt on the floor, hands and silver hair covered in dirt as she tended to her pots of colourful flowers.
Aemond stood nearby, looking elegant as ever.
But as you paced down the stone steps towards them, it was made clear both of them were bickering in High Valyrian.
A smile formed on your lips from the exasperated look on his face.
It was to be expected, after all.
Two dragons with fiery tempers were bound to clash.
He suddenly removed the tie that held his hair back and lowered himself to eye-level with the young child, bringing her unruly strands into a high knot.
She huffed in annoyance, pushing his hands away. “Kepa!”
It filled you with nothing but joy to watch his face soften into an adoring smile.
Noticing your presence, she stuck out her tongue at him in a clear display of defiance and ran to you.
Her cheek was soon pressed to your belly, short arms enveloping you into a tight hug, a single cutting of Moonbloom tucked behind her ear.
“Muña!” she beamed, rubbing stains of dirt into your dress. “Look at my garden! Grandmother says it’s the prettiest in King’s Landing.”
You ran your hands along her head, tidying a few strands in place. “Queen Alicent is absolutely correct.”
Aemond joined you, planting a tender kiss to your forehead, his now loose hair tickling your face. “Do we tell her?”
She pouted. “Tell me what?”
He crouched at her side, bearing the faintest smile, but enough to send your stomach into a lurch. “You wanted a sibling—”
But before Aemond could carry on, your daughter broke into a deafening shriek, causing birds in nearby trees to take flight.
Her mouth was left hung open in sheer excitement as Aemond placed her tiny hand on your discreet bump.
Lilac eyes widened and locked with his. “You planted a seed in mother!”
Her high-pitched remark turned a few heads and you could immediately spot panic settling on his handsome face.
“Sīr eglie daor,” he said, lowering his own voice. “Not so loud, little one.”
But your daughter cared not for manners in that moment and brought both hands to your belly, glaring at it in confusion.
“When do I get to meet my sibling?”
“Not for a few moons,” you told her.
She planted a soft kiss atop your bump. “Do I have to water it?”
You chuckled. “It won’t be necessary.”
Aemond placed his own hand next to hers. “All you have to do is aid me in taking care of your mother so she can take care of your sibling.”
Pressing another kiss, she glared at him. “That is all?”
He nodded. “Are you up for this very important, challenging, and difficult task?” he said dramatically while narrowing his eye.
She balled one fist and raised it high, her face twisting into a defiant smile. “Yes!”
Aemond came walking in, footsteps as light as feathers as he paced across the poorly lit bedchamber, carrying his daughter.
You propped yourself on an elbow to better take in the adoring sight of the young prince holding his daughter against his chest, her face resting on his shoulder as her arms dangled with each step.
“Maybe we should have waited,” you whispered as he came to sit at the edge of the bed.
He shook his head. “Dawn is breaking.”
She was still fast asleep, but you had made a promise to her and promises are to be kept.
Aemond made sure of that.
He tried lowering her to lay next to you, but she immediately clamped her arms around his neck, whining softly.
Silently, he loosened her grip and brought her down next to your prominent belly.
She whined once again from the sudden lack of warmth he had provided, but soon shifted to curl into you.
“Wake up…” you said, dragging the back of your hand across her cheek.
Aemond pushed your nightgown up to expose your skin to her touch. “Byka Zaldrīzes…”
Little dragon.
That term of endearment was reserved for special moments, so he had once told you.
This was one of those.
Slowly but surely, you daughter stirred from her sleep, rubbing both hands across her fluttering eyelids.
With a jaw-popping yawn she stretched herself into your belly and, through sleepy eyes, she glared at Aemond in confusion.
“The babe is kicking,” he said.
The effect of those words was immediate and she promptly placed both hands on your belly.
She had made you promise you would let her know when you felt the first kicks, but nothing could have prepared you for how endearing it was to witness your daughter glaring expectantly, dragging her tiny palms across the stretched skin.
The babe kicked harshly inside you and you saw her eyes widen. “I felt it!”
Aemond’s eye was on yours and the glare he offered you made your heart swell with adoration.
If someone had told you that a few years ago Aemond would have traded early morning sword practice for time with his family, you’d ask them not to be absurd.
He placed a large hand on her back, rubbing her gently as she dove into a monologue with her sibling.
“You are very impatient,” she whispered as if she hand suddenly entered a world that was only theirs. “Must be dark in there… but you’ll come out soon and I’ll even let you tend to my flowers.”
Aemond chuckled. “Even your precious moonbloom pots?”
She paused in contemplation.
“… yes,” she ended up saying. “But only after making sure they’d be left intact,” she concluded with a determined smile.
“No harm would come to your flowers, sweetling,” he said, placing his other hand on your hip, his thumb rubbing your skin absentmindedly. “Besides, Uncle Daeron would have more shipped from Oldtown if something were to happen.”
The babe rammed into you once again, startling your daughter. “Was I also like this?”
“Very much so,” he said. “You were bent on not letting your mother rest properly… and, by extension, me.”
Her face lightened up. “I will ask grandmother if you were the same way, kepa.”
A smile curled his lips and lit a fire in you.
Your second labour went by much faster than your first one and, by the time you felt the babe’s pushing down, no guards or handmaids were able to contain your daughter from sneaking inside the busy chamber.
Aemond was at your side every step of the way and made no further effort at keeping the young Targaryen at bay.
Wide-eyed and in complete silence, she strode forward to stand by your side, gripping two flower crowns in her hand.
“Push, my lady,” the maester urged. “Push, push!”
You were fortunate to have your husband sitting behind you, holding you in place and silently being the source of strength you required to push through the final moments.
Through gritted teeth, you mustered the last remnants of vigour within you and tried your best to heed the maester’s words.
Sweat rolled down your face and with a final scream, you felt the pain down below ease and the pressure vanish.
“A boy!” the old man said as he wrapped the babe with cloths
You slumped into Aemond’s chest, breathing heavily as tears rushed from your eyes.
An angry cry tore through the room as the young dragon announced himself to the world around him.
“Do you wish for me to take her outside for a while, my prince?” one servant asked, gazing at your daughter.
“Leave her be,” you heard Aemond snarl as she looped one arm around yours, holding on tightly.
She bared her teeth dramatically, frowning deeply at the failed attempt to have her taken away from your side.
As soon as they managed to cut the cord, another handmaid brought the babe to your arms, turf of silver hair sticking to his tiny head.
Relief washed over you as you embraced your son near your flustered chest.
Thorough your hazy state of mind, you didn’t even notice your daughter was holding out one moonbloom flower crown to you.
She seemed hesitant… even tense.
“Thank you, my love…” you breathed out, allowing her to place it on your head. “Thank you…”
“Can I…”
Your eyes shot to her lilac ones as she pouted, holding yet another flower crown, but a much smaller one this time.
“Made it with kepa…”
Aemond planted a long kiss to the top of your head before taking the crying babe into his arms and lowering him just enough for her to peak through with a gasp.
“Ooooh…”
Surprisingly, the babe’s cries came to a sudden halt when she placed the crown on top of the cloth wrapped around him.
One handmaiden placed a damp rag to your forehead and you sighed as your daughter carefully ran teo fingers along his face.
“Do you think he’ll like me?”
Aemond pulled her close to him and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “He already does.”

🔥 Girl-Dad!Aemond Targaryen x wife!reader - Smutty Headcanons 🔥
Tumblr media
Let it be known that Prince Aemond Targaryen absolutely 100% has a breeding kink. The idea of you swelling with his child, growing round with his seed, everyone seeing the evidence of your intimacy and knowing you’re his, drives him absolutely insane and turns him on so bad
At first he tries (poorly) to keep it to himself that he’s imagining it, but one night when you’re riding him hard, drinking in the sharp beautiful angles of his face and the sound of his moans as his cock stretches you, it accidentally slips out of his mouth in a moment where his usually perfect self control falters
“Fuck, (Y/N)… want to put a baby inside of you so bad-“
Immediately you both pause, and you look down at him in thought, considering this idea. Meanwhile he looks horrified that he allowed himself to let that thought out, as if expecting you to be disgusted. To his surprise, you merely smile and lean over him, adjusting your position before beginning to ride him vigorously once more. Your mouth dips down near to his ear as he gasps in pleasure, and your voice is husky; “do it, husband - fill me with your seed”
He cums so hard that night that neither of you would have been surprised if you’d had twins nine months later
No matter what position you two are doing, you can see the way his eye burns with desire as he nears his finish, his thrusts growing animalistic as he growls before emptying himself inside of you with a groan of your name. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hard and fast fuck or a night where he’s taking his time worshipping you, you can see that he’s thinking about it, that he’s wondering when you’ll be with child - it’s not the only thing he wants, of course, he could quite happily make love to you for the rest of his life with no children to show for it, but it’s something he considers
It’s not really a shock when you fall pregnant within the first year of your marriage, let’s be real - the two of you are definitely a passionate couple
The night that you tell Aemond you’re with child, he is in disbelief at first and merely stares at you as if expecting it to be a joke of some kind - but then he’s striding forwards, taking you in his arms and kissing you hard on the mouth. The smile on his face as his hand presses to your still-flat abdomen makes your heart melt because it’s a smile of pure joy, of pure happiness, and you know that it’s been so rare in his life that he experiences such a feeling
Aemond absolutely worships you in bed that night, and it doesn’t escape your notice that he takes the time to tenderly brush his lips over where your baby will be growing, the love he has for his unborn child already overwhelming
Unlike his brother, he absolutely does not pursue pleasure in brothels, especially not when his wife is pregnant - why would he waste coin going to such a place to be with a stranger when his beloved wife is right there, the evidence of their coupling there for all to see? He’s loyal and dutiful to you, and proves it over and over
As you begin to swell with your first child, you can see how conflicted your husband is; you can tell he wants to be passionate in bed with you, wants to fuck you hard because the sight of you and your growing belly is driving him wild, but you know that he doesn’t wish to hurt the child either. You reassure him because you know that no matter how rough he may be in bed with you, he would never truly hurt you or the baby
Aemond is uncertain for a mere five minutes more - all his worries fly rather quickly out the window when you push him against the pillows of the bed so he’s sitting up, plant yourself on his cock and begin to move erratically as you chase your pleasure on him. Safe to say, both of you enjoy yourselves from that point onwards
As the months progress, he’s rather smugly pleased when your hormones mean your sex drive goes up - you both benefit from this particular change, and he takes great pleasure in teasing orgasm after orgasm out of you and your sensitive body
Aemond is DEFINITELY pleased by how your body changes; stomach growing round, breasts growing larger… you sadly mention one night that you understand if he doesn’t find you attractive like this, and he fumbles with the ties of his clothes out of shock because are you serious?!?
“You… you don’t find me disgusting?” You ask tentatively, nervous to know the truth. Aemond’s eye shines up at you as he presses kisses down your stomach, trailing lower and lower. “My love,” he mutters, his voice gravelly as he reaches the apex between your thighs, “How can I be anything but in awe of you?” Any self-consciousness is, frankly, driven out of the window as his tongue slips inside of you, enjoying his favourite meal
You and your husband debate as you get closer to your delivery date as to what gender the child might be. One night, after a number of rounds of coital bliss, you discuss it again. You’re not sure, and you secretly expect that Aemond would like a son - however, when he trails a large hand over your abdomen, feeling the child kicking within, he hums before smiling. “I think she’ll be a girl.” You raise a brow and ask why; Aemond continues to smile, telling you he’s not sure why he thinks that - he just has a feeling.
You have to wonder if Helaena isn’t the only person in the family who can predict things because a few weeks later, you deliver a healthy baby girl. You watch as Aemond cradles her carefully in his arms, gazing at her in wonder - he is already captivated by her, by the tufts of white blonde on her head so like his own, by how tiny her fingers and toes are, by the warm weight of her. His Visenya, he thinks to himself with pride, the name you two agreed on for a girl.
It takes a few months before you’re able to have sex again, at least according to the maesters’ orders - but while you pout and grow agitated, Aemond never says a word or complains even once. He’s just so thrilled that not only is his daughter perfect and healthy, but you are too - he thanks the gods every day for it. He won’t deny that he’s rather pleased when you are able to be intimate together again though - he may be a Targaryen, closer to God, but he is still a man after all
Again, you have to wonder if he’ll even want to be intimate with you because your body has changed, there are marks from where your body grew to accommodate the life that grew there, and you’ve heard that some men are repulsed by these changes. Aemond, however, kisses ever scar, every stretch mark, every inch that shows where his daughter came from - it is a wonderful reminder, he thinks, and he loves you all the more for it
You don’t want to fall pregnant immediately after, you both agree it would be sensible to wait at least a year first, but you’re sure as hell not giving up sex; there are ways to prevent it, after all, and so it’s not too much of a surprise that soon enough you’re enjoying a healthy sex life again. It’s some time after Visenya’s first nameday when you agree you have another child.
You’d once heard some of your ladies remark that with each attempt to get pregnant that followed, the act soon became rather boring - but they couldn’t have been more wrong in your case. It’s almost as if your husband is more determined to impregnate you this time around, like he’s desperate to see you with child again, and it fuels your own fire; it’s almost amusing how many scratches litter Aemond’s back, the small marks from where you have bitten down on his shoulder in the heat of your climax, and your own body is almost bruised by the intensity of Aemond’s kisses
Unsurprisingly, it does not take long at all for you to fall pregnant again
With each pregnancy that follows, he is attentive at all times to your needs - especially the ones in the bedroom. It’s almost embarrassing how your body, filled with hormonal changes, reacts to feeling his hand on your waist, the feel of him spooning behind you in the night as he wraps an arm securely around your belly - but your dear husband, it seems, is more than up for the challenge of keeping up with your increase in libido.
Aemond surprises you one night near the delivery of your second babe; he’s watching in awe as you gently ride on his lap, his fingers clutching your hips tightly and throat bobbing with every clench you give around his cock. “Gevie…” He murmurs, and the sound of the High Valyrian on his tongue makes you clench around him even tighter. “Avy jorrāelan, ñuhys ābrazȳrys…” You are not fluent in the language, but you know enough to know what he is saying: “beautiful. I love you, my wife”, and your eyes shine. And then he shudders, eyes shifting to your round abdomen with awe as his voice trembles; “Nyke jaelagon ziry iksos nykeā tȳne hāedar”. You don’t know what he says, and soon both of your climaxes take over; it is only afterwards, as he pulls you into his arms, that you ask what he said. Aemond looks surprisingly sheepish as he rests a hand on your bump, closing his eyes. “Mmm… I said that I hope it is another girl. Just like our Visenya.”
The Gods must favour him tremendously because shortly afterwards you deliver a second daughter, this one named Daenys, after Daenys the Dreamer, and he is just as smitten with her as he is with his firstborn.
Even as you rest and recover from the delivery, you hear the whispers begin to creep around the keep; two girls and no sons? It sounds like an omen, you hear the servants whisper when they think you’re asleep, you are not doing your duty to the Prince at all. Despite the joy you feel at having two healthy girls, a part of you feels guilty for not having a son. Perhaps, you tell yourself, the next will be a boy - after all, having two healthy daughters should mean there’s no issue delivering healthy sons
During each pregnancy that follows, your husband remains just as attentive, just as dutiful, just loyal - and he never falters his duties as a father either. You love seeing him with Visenya and Daenys as you watch one summer afternoon, silently praying to yourself that this child will be a son if only to quiet the rumours circulating that you are not doing your duties, that it’s a sign you are the wrong wife for the Prince.
When your third daughter, Naerys, arrives that autumn, you and Aemond both cry tears of joy - but he doesn’t realise that some of yours are guilt for wishing your child had been a boy, guilt for wishing she had been different, even for one moment.
The whispers grow louder, rumours begin to spread that your husband tires of your bed. It’s difficult to be too sad about it, however, given that you know the truth - you’re almost certain that the noises coming out of the chambers you share have scandalised the guards and maids around the keep more than strictly necessary.
You fall pregnant a fourth time very quickly; you try not to grin at the raised eyebrows the maesters gave you when you came to them displaying early pregnancy symptoms a mere four months onwards from giving birth. When you tell Aemond, he’s bemused and smirks as he takes you to bed to celebrate the exciting news.
When Aemond holds Jaenara when she’s born, he shows her to his oldest two daughters while his third merely babbles on her mother’s lap; it’s difficult to miss the pride on his face as he looks at all four of his girls, at you, at his family.
“You’re not tired of me yet?” You ask a few months later as your husband rolls on top of you, his eye dilated as filled with undisguised lust. He chuckles as he strips you of your nightclothes, his fingers tweaking your nipples gently, “Never, dear wife.”
“At the rate we’re going,” you whisper later that night as his cock stirs in interest against your leg, despite the two of you having had two rounds already, “We’re going to have more children than the Old King himself.” Aemond let’s out a laugh, cupping your cheek to pull you in for a kiss; his words brush against your lips, just as your breath catches in your throat; “is that a challenge, my love?”
Your fifth pregnancy starts much as the others - and then it doesn’t. The amount of blood spotting your sheets is small, but Aemond doesn’t waste any time, fetching the maester to come himself. He hovers anxiously as you’re examined, snapping at anyone who dares ask if he’d rather wait outside, all of his focus on you. You’re both relieved when the maester says that you and the child are both fine - however, he hesitantly adds that you need to be careful during this pregnancy, as it seems to be higher risk.
Aemond truly tries being celibate, not wanting to harm the child - but you’re having none of that, and soon he can’t stand it either. He is gentler than usual when he touches you, careful to never over exert you, always allowing you to find your pleasure first before allowing himself his own. It’s different, but not in a terrible way.
“Aemond,” you murmur one morning, and he shifts against you from behind; his hand presses against your stomach, but he makes a noise to show he’s listening. “What if… what if we can’t have more after this?” For a minute he is silent, and you wonder if he’s fallen asleep again - but then he sighs, his breath hot against the back of your neck. “Then the Gods will have blessed us with five children - if it’s their will, then so be it.”
You truly just want the child to be healthy, you truly do, but part of you can’t help but consider that it might be a boy this time; if this is the last time, then a son would quiet the whispers, would calm the wagging tongues in the keep.
It is nearly Yule when little Saera arrives, small but otherwise perfectly healthy after a long delivery. Aemond kisses her head and then kisses yours, and then hers all over again, thanking the gods for blessing him with five perfect daughters and for keeping you safe.
Once your husband finds out what the whispers have said about you, about his girls, he’s furious and grows more possessive of you - not in a terrible way, but you don’t miss the way that his hand constantly lingers on the small of your back, how his eye watches you constantly when you are across the room, how a clear hunger burns within him when he sees you with the girls you both brought into the world.
It goes both ways; it’s undeniable that the sight of Aemond with the girls - whether it’s teaching them the language of their ancestors, reading to them, helping them in the training yard, teaching them how to ride their dragons - is a huge turn on. There’s something about the sight of him being a good dad that just turns you on so bad, and you often all but pounce on him as soon as you’re both alone.
Even if making more babies isn’t necessarily the goal, it’s undeniable that the act itself is hugely enjoyable to you both

Could you write Aemond as he takes care of his newborn daughter. Maybe something from his pov, his thoughts when she looks at him, smiles at him, giggles in his presence and all feelings washing through him. Him observing her, lulling her to sleep, as many moments of the two of them as possible. Maybe even him already talking to her in High Valyrian so she would be familiar with language since the beginning. Let our hearts melt 💖
But of course! I was in the mood to write this tender moment of dad Aemond and his little girl.
Call this a precursor to when she grows up into a teenager and he has to fight off suitors left and right.
Aemond x fem!reader | dad Aemond | a gentle morning
Tumblr media
She was sunshine on a cold winter’s day.
His little dragon.  Given to him by the woman he was still awed to call “wife”.
Aemond reached down, smiling as his little daughter clasped his index finger with her tiny fist.  Her mouth, so much like his, curled into a toothless grin as she gurgled and cooed up at him.
She was beautiful.
A perfect creation.
Aemond carded his fingers through her soft white curls, her lilac eyes shining with adoration as he lifted her carefully into his arms.  She tugged at his own silver hair, chubby fingers probing the side of his face where his sapphire sat.
She seemed entranced by the glittering gemstone, her wide eyes staring in wonder, not fear.  Aemond’s throat tightened as he watched her study him, his heart feeling fuller than he ever thought possible.
Aemond bounced his little dragon in his arms, peppering kisses all over her scrunched up face until she giggled, her small fingers tugging at his nose and ears as she laughed wildly.
“Issa qēlos.”  Aemond murmured, tucking his daughter under his chin as he held her against his chest. “Ao issi issa glaeson.”
He continued speaking High Valyrian into her soft hair.  She had stilled, seemingly intent on listening to the low tone of his voice as he spoke the language of their ancestors.
Aemond turned to the arched window.  “Jurnegon.”  He pointed, guiding his daughter’s curious gaze to the sprawling city of King’s Landing, the sea sparkling blue far beyond.  A dragon, Dreamfyre by the blue hue of her scales, soared above the shimmering waves.  Far out, Aemond heard a distant roar.  “Zaldrīzes.”  He whispered into his daughter’s ear. “Dragon.”  He smiled, kissing the top of her head as she cooed at the beautiful creature. “Soon you will ride one of your own. Perhaps I will take you with me atop Vhagar someday.”
“Hopefully not before she is at least a year old, Aemond.”
His smile broadened as he turned to the doorway, his wife looking radiant as she shook her head teasingly at him. “I’ll not allow you to take our infant daughter on a dragon joyride.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it, my love.”  Aemond chuckled, crossing to kiss her deeply, savoring the taste of her lips as their daughter shifted to look up at them, her little arms reaching out for her mother.
“She’s hungry.”  Y/N said, hoisting the child into her arms and cradling her against her bosom.
Aemond moved back to the window, resting his back against the stone wall as he watched his wife feed their baby.  She rocked the little one, looking down at her with radiant adoration as she hummed a soft lullaby.
“You are a wonderful mother.”  He murmured.
“Just as you are the best father.”  She graced him with one of those smiles that made his heart skip a beat.
She did not know the impact those words had, and Aemond gave nothing away in his expression.  To be the kind of father Aemond never had was one of the greatest desires of his life.
Tempering the emotion swelling within him, Aemond strode over to where Y/N still nursed their daughter, embracing her from behind as he kissed her head, breathing in the intoxicating scent of her hair.  His hands trailed from the curves of her waist to cradle where their daughter lay nestled secure in her arms.
She sighed, leaning back into him, tilting her lovely head up to accept the searching kiss he pressed to her honeyed lips.  A warm breeze floated through the open window, caressing Aemond’s skin and sending his long hair fluttering over his shoulders, tickling the column of Y/N’s neck.  She giggled into his mouth, pulling away only slightly to brush her nose against his.
Their small daughter, now finished with her morning meal, stared up at them sleepily.  Aemond brushed a thumb along the corner of her mouth, wiping away a droplet of moisture.  “She’s a messy eater.”  He mused.
“She gets it from your side of the family.”  Y/N teased, readjusting her bodice.
“Undoubtedly.”  Aemond agreed.
Their daughter reached out for him with both arms, straining to escape Y/N’s grasp.  “It seems like she has an obsession with your hair.”  His wife laughed, rolling her eyes as their daughter twined her tiny fingers once more in Aemond’s mussed locks.
“She inherited that from you.”  Aemond shot his wife a mischievous glance, wincing slightly at a particularly sharp tug.
She slapped his shoulder playfully. “Oh hush.”
“As well as her strength!”  Aemond feigned injury, looking down at the happy face of his little daughter. “You will have the might of ten men, and the stature of one of the Queens of Old Valyria.”
“Perzys se ānogar.”  Y/N said softly, drawing Aemond’s lilac gaze to her reverent face.
“Perzys se ānogar.”  He echoed.  “Fire and blood.”

“Lady Y/N, the Princess Helaena has requested your presence in her chambers immediately,” one of Helaena’s handmaidens had found you on your morning walk in the gardens.
Your face grew worrisome at the handmaiden’s words as you followed her out of the gardens. Helaena was due to give birth to her third child any day now and you feared something horrible might have happened.
Helaena’s handmaiden pushed open the doors, you saw Helaena on her bed with the Maester between her legs as she cried softly.
“Helaena!” you rushed to her side, grabbing her hand, “Are you alright?”
She moved to speak before, what you assumed, was another contraction passed as she winced, “I’m fine,” she sighed as it moved through her, “I just did not wish to be alone.”
“Where is Aegon?” you shouldn’t have expected him to be here, at least not by his own will. When Helaena had given birth to Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, Queen Alicent had forced him to be there and demanded that he be at his wife’s side as she brought his children into the world.
“Mother did not command him to be here this time around,” Helaena spoke through rugged breaths.
“Would you like me to order the guards to fetch your mother?” you moved to do so.
“No,” Helaena snatched you back by your hand, “I only wish for you to be here, good sister.”
You smiled at her kind words, pushing away some of the hair that stuck to her forehead, “Then I’m not going anywhere.”
She nodded, smiling tiredly. She readjusted her grip on your hand, tightening it as the Maester’s and midwives encouraged her to push.
“Once more, Princess. We can see the babe’s head,” one of her midwives spoke. Helaena’s nails dug into your hand as she screamed, pushing with what seemed to be all her might.
“AHHHHH!” you could’ve sworn her cries shook the walls of every chamber in the Red Keep.
Suddenly the air was filled with sweet cries and shrieks as the Maester pulled the baby from Helaena.
“A boy, Princess,” the midwife announced, quickly wiping away the birth matter before placing the squalling bundle into Helaena’s tired arms.
She smiled sweetly at the small boy, “Is he healthy?”
“As can be,” the Maester answered, “Congratulations, Princess.”
You kissed your sister-in-law’s head, “Well done, Helaena. He’s beautiful. Have you got a name for him yet?”
“Aegon wanted to name him Maelor,” she caressed the sleeping infant’s face, “Do you wish to hold him, Y/N?”
“I would be honoured,” you grinned softly before Helaena passed the baby into your arms, “Well, aren’t you a handsome one, Prince Maelor?” he stirred a bit as you rocked him before you cooed him back to sleep.
One of her handmaidens came through the doors, “Prince Aegon, the Queen, and Prince Aemond, my Princess.”
You assisted Helaena to sit up as the three entered the room. Queen Alicent smiled proudly as she moved to her daughter’s bedside.
“My sweet love,” she kissed her daughter’s cheek, Helaena giving a half-smile in return, “I do hope your labours were not too painful.”
Helaena shook her head, “Faster than the first time. But still excruciatingly painful.”
You laughed softly at her words, “Prince Aegon, don’t you wish to be introduced to your son?” you raised a brow.
Aegon sighed deeply before moving to his wife’s bedside, looking at the baby in your arms.
“Another son,” Aegon spoke. He merely watched as you passed the bundle to the Queen so that she might get a better look at her grandson.
“Yes, my Prince. Your wife has done an excellent job,” you spoke rather coarsely to him. Aegon wasn’t a good person, let alone a good husband, and Helaena wasn’t just your sister-in-law but your friend and you never cared for the way Aegon treated her.
“You might wish to hold your son, brother,” Aemond suggested.
Aegon cleared his throat, “Oh- of course,” you looked to Helaena first, she was reluctant at first before giving a nod of approval before you took the boy from the Queen and handed him over to Aegon.
The baby didn’t look right in his arms but there was nothing you could do about it. He was the father after all. You smiled again at Helaena before finally moving to your husband’s side.
“The boy’s name?” the Queen asked.
  “Maelor,” Helaena answered.
Queen Alicent smiled at her daughter, “Excellent choice. I assume the two of you would like some privacy?”
“That won’t be necessary,” Aegon answered, “I’ve got matters that need attending to.” He handed the baby back to Helaena in haste.
“Matters more important than the birth of your son?” you questioned.
Aegon’s jaw tensed at your comment, his fist curling as he tried to take a step towards you, “What was that, Y/N?”
You moved to speak before Aemond stepped in, “Careful, brother.”
Both brothers moved towards one another before Queen Alicent stepped in, “Not here. This is about Helaena and the babe.”
“I couldn’t agree more, Your Grace,” you spoke up, pulling Aemond back to your side.
Queen Alicent nodded at you before turning to Helaena, “My husband may do as he pleases. I only wish for Y/N and Aemond to be here.”
The Queen shifted uncomfortably at her daughter’s words, “As you wish, my love.” she stroked Helaena’s hair, “Come along, Aegon.”
Aegon did not hesitate to leave as fast as he could, not even waiting politely for his mother. Queen Alicent said her goodbyes before making her way out of Helaena’s chambers.
You took Aemond’s hand, leading him to Helaena’s bedside, “Their energy was bad for the baby. Aegon stunk of wine, he left it on Maelor’s blanket.”
“Shall we have one of the midwives change it?” Aemond asked his sister.
Helaena shook her head, “I don’t want anyone else touching him beside you or Y/N.”
You could see how tired the poor girl was, “Helaena,” you took her hand, “Maybe you should find some sleep. You’ve exhausted yourself heroically this morning.”
Helaena took a deep breath before nodding, “Will you two be alright looking after him while I do?”
“Of course,” you nodded, “We’ll just be over in the nursery. The minute you wake, we’ll bring Maelor back.”
“Thank you,” she smiled as she handed the baby over to you.
You scooped him into your arms. Helaena attempted to make herself comfortable, “Here, let me help,” you offered before turning to give Aemond the baby, “Take him.”
Aemond had never given off the fatherly type but he knew his sister had only entrusted him and his wife. So he nodded before awkwardly taking the baby into his arms. While you adjusted Helaena’s pillows and settled her into bed.
“Sleep well, sister,” Aemond spoke softly as Helaena waved us goodbye. You and Aemond left her chambers quietly so as to not wake the sleeping infant. “Shouldn’t you take him?”
“You that scared of him?” you giggled as you took the baby from Aemond’s arms, “Rides the biggest dragon in the world and is scared of his infant nephew.”
Aemond scoffed, “I am not scared. He’s just too delicate.”
“You won’t hurt him,” you smiled at your husband as you entered the nursery.
“Seems as though the handmaidens already fastened a cradle in here,” Aemond nodded over to the bassinet in the corner.
“Let’s see if he likes it then,” you walked over and placed your newborn nephew into the crib. He was still fast asleep after you tucked him in. “Seems he does,” you kissed his head as he slept soundly.
You and Aemond stood over the sleeping boy for a while, just listening to his soft little breaths and snores.
“How could your brother bare to be away from him by choice?” you finally spoke, breaking the silence.
“Aegon has never been built for responsibility,” Aemond answered, “I mean, the only reason he was there when the twins were born was because Mother forced him to be.”
You shook your head at the thought, “Hopefully all three are more like Helaena than they are like him.”
  Aemond sighed, “Gods be good.”
“They’re such beautiful things. Babies that is. Not a bad thing about them. Just pure innocence and joy.”
“Born into such a corrupt world. Makes you think twice about having them.”
“And you have?” Aemond raised his brow at your question, “Thought about having them?”
“The thought has crossed my mind.”
“Really? Why have you never said anything?”
Aemond tensed a bit before clearing his throat, “Has the thought ever crossed your mind?”
“Of course, it has, Aemond. From the moment a girl comes of age and even before that, they are told about the so-called miracle of childbirth. Though after seeing what Helaena went through, definitely a load of sheep shit.”
Aemond chuckled lightly, “And what are your thoughts exactly?”
You let out a deep breath, “The idea of having one or two seems nice. What about you?”
He paused before saying anything, “I don’t think I’m fit to be a father.” Aemond moved away from the crib, towards the windows of the nursery that faced the horizon over Blackwater Bay.
“What in Seven Hells are you talking about?” you followed him over.
Aemond shook his head, “Look at me. A one-eyed man whom everyone in all of the Seven Kingdoms is terrified to look at. A monster.”
You sighed before resting your hand on the scarred side of his face and pushing it to face you, “You are not a monster. You are my husband. A Prince of the Seven Kingdoms. A fine warrior. A dragon rider. A poet and a scholar. All of this and more. But most importantly, Aemond, you’re a good man.”
“Do you wish to have children with me, Y/N?”
“More than anything, Aemond,” you smiled proudly.
Aemond finally exchanged a similar one, “Then children we shall have. Though we may need some more practice first.”
Aemond took a step towards you, one of his hands falling to your waist while the other cupped your face. He leaned forward, both of your eyes fluttering shut. Until the soft whimpering that came from the cradle pulled you both away.
You moved to comfort Maelor before Aemond stopped you, stepping towards the crib himself and picking up the softly crying baby.
“Shhh,” Aemond cooed, “It’s alright little one.” You smiled softly as he began to rock himself and the baby, continuously cooing to him.
There was a knock at the nursery door, “Come in. Quietly please,” you instructed.
Helaena’s handmaiden entered, “My lady, my prince,” she curtsied, “The princess is awake and wishes for her child to be returned to her.”
“Of course,” you nodded. You walked to Aemond, “Want me to take him?”
“I’ve got him,” he answered, his eye still fixated on the sleeping boy.
You kissed Maelor’s head then Aemond’s cheek, “Let’s get him back then.”
The three of you returned to Helaena’s chambers. She appeared to have bathed and rested from her current looks.
She looked at you questioningly as you were the first to enter the room, “Where’s Maelor?”
Aemond had finally entered the room, the sweet bundle still fast asleep in his arms, “No need to fret, sister.”
Helaena smiled softly as Aemond handed her son back to her, “Thank you both for looking after him.”
“We’d be happy to do it whenever you’d like, Helaena. He’s a sweet boy,” you grinned, “Sweet enough that he even wooed your brother over.”
She nodded at her brother, “A dragon of spring.”
You and Aemond exchanged glances, Helaena had always been known to say peculiar things. You thought it must be related to her labours so you both just smiled at her.
“We’ll let you two have some alone time,” you smiled, “Come, husband. Let’s go for a walk in the gardens.”
Aemond nodded as the two of you exchanged goodbyes with his sister and the new prince before heading off toward the gardens.
The sun was still shining as you took your stroll, stopping to sniff and observe the different flowers and plants. Aemond plucked one, placing it behind your ear as you started to walk toward the more secluded areas of the gardens.
Aemond’s hand stayed on your face, seeming to admire you, “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered softly.
You caressed the scar on his face again, “As are you, my love.”
Aemond wasted no time in pulling your lips to his, both of you moaning softly at the combined softness and neediness that filled the kiss. It seemed after your earlier conversation Aemond was now making haste as his lips trailed down your face and neck.
“Aemond,” you panted softly as he began to undo the lacing on the back of your dress, “We could be seen.”
“Then let them. I don’t plan to let you out of this garden before I’ve filled you with my seed.”
Your body trembled at his words as he managed to pull your dress down. Before he continued, he pulled off his coat, laying it onto the floor and throwing his belt off as well before pushing you down softly to rest on the softer material.
“Gods,” you moaned quietly as Aemond wrapped his lips around one of your hardening nipples while his hand toyed with the other.
He groaned around it before pulling off and switching his attention to the other, mimicking his earlier motions. While your hands slid between the two of you, untucking his tunic from his trousers. Your fingers then undoing the clasp before nudging them down.
“Seems you’re not too worried about being caught now, are you?” Aemond teased.
  “Please, just fuck me.”
“In time, my darling,” Aemond smirked before moving in between your legs, bunching your dress in the middle while he removed your stockings and knickers, “Gods be good,” he moaned as he began kissing up your thighs.
“A-Aemond,” your voice quivered a bit as he licked, bit, and kissed up and down your legs.
Getting as close as he could to your pussy, which had to have been dripping by now from all of Aemond’s teasing. He finally locked his lips around your sensitive clit, sucking it as two of his fingers teased your entrance. Your fingers made their way into his hair, attempting to tug on it but the band of his eye patch continued to get in the way. So you began to undo the leather, Aemond made no effort to stop you as you did so. He was only focused on pleasuring you as much as he could.
Once the eye patch was removed, your fingers could now properly grip his hair which only encouraged Aemond in his assault. You bucked and twitched at his touch. Your back arching as your orgasm continued to build in your stomach. Aemond could feel you clench around his fingers, knowing you’d be finishing sooner than later.
“F-Fucking hells,” you moaned louder as he sped up his movements, “Gods- fuck- Aemond!” Your climax ripped through you as you coated Aemond’s porcelain face with your juices. You were attempting to catch your breath before Aemond rose from between your legs and laid a hard kiss on you.
“I love the way you taste,” he sighed as he pulled away, his now exposed sapphire eye gleaming beautifully along with the dampened part of his face. You smiled, still coming out of your post-orgasmic haze, “I read somewhere that a woman is more likely to conceive after an orgasm.”
“Thank the Gods you like to read,” you panted. Aemond chuckled before kissing you again, this time one of his hands fell between you, pulling his trousers down and finally exposing his completely hardened and leaking cock.
He teased your hole a bit with the tip, not pushing in all the way on account of you recovering, “Whenever you’re ready, my love.”
You took in another deep breath before nodding, “Please, Aemond.”
You didn’t have to beg much before Aemond began pushing his cock in. The wetness provided by your first orgasm made it all that much easier. You let out synchronized groans as he bottomed out, the tip of his cock pressing your cervix.
“Gods-fucking hell,” Aemond moaned in your ear as you both adjusted to the feeling of one another.
“Aemond, m-move,” you whimpered in his ear.
Aemond heeded your pathetic-sounding demands and began to thrust over and over. He started slow at first but after hearing the noises you emitted and the way your body reacted every time he sped up, his pace became relentless. The visceral sounds of skin slapping, heavy breathing, and combined moans filled the gardens that surrounded the two of you.
The tightening sensation in your stomach was back, “G-Gonna cum again,” you panted.
“Fuck, I’m nearly there,” Aemond groaned. His pace continuously sped up as you both now chased your orgasms. He leaned his head down, pressing your foreheads together as your climaxes neared.
“I love you,” you whimpered as Aemond pounded into you.
Aemond grunted, your sweet words only encouraging him, “I love you. Can’t wait to put a fucking baby in you. Watch you swell with my child. Let everyone in the Seven Kingdoms know you belong to me.”
And just like that both of you erupted into a string of moans and vile words. If no one had heard the two of you yet, there was no chance they could’ve denied that. Aemond’s cum completely filled your cunt, dripping out around his cock as he was still inside you.
Aemond panted as he thrust his last few times before kissing your forehead and slowly pulling out. You both winced at the absence of one another as Aemond lay next to you on the coat.
He pulled you to him, both of you relaxing in the others’ grasp, “Think this one will take?”
Aemond sighed, “Gods, I hope so. Still,” he leaned on his arm so he could look down at you, “If it doesn’t, that means I can still fuck you like this,” you both smiled before kissing softly, “And if it does, I’ll still fuck you like this.”
NEARLY A YEAR LATER...
“Push, my lady, push!” one of your midwives encouraged.
“I am pushing, you stupid cunt!” you yelled as the pain surged through your body.
“Was I this violent during my labours?” Helaena asked as she continued to grip your hand.
Aemond smirked from the other side of you, your other hand in his grip, “That’s my child inside her. A true dragon.”
“Both of you, shut the- AHHHHH!”
“I can see the head,” the Maester spoke from between your legs, “One last push, my lady.”
You practically roared as you pushed with every last bit you had left in you. The relief overcame you as you felt your child come out and their soft wails fill the room.
“A boy,” the midwife spoke as she quickly wiped off your baby before placing him in your arms, “As healthy as can be. Praise the Mother.”
You sobbed softly as you tiredly rocked the infant, “Shh, it’s alright, my little love.”
“You have a son, my prince. Congratulations to the both of you,” the Maester smiled as he and the midwives cleaned up.
Aemond’s gaze could not be taken away from his son or his wife, pure adoration for the both of them.
“He’s beautiful,” Helaena commented, “A dragon of spring,” she wiped the sweat-clad hair from your forehead.
Your handmaiden returned, “The Queen and Prince Aegon,” she introduced. Aemond’s family joined the room. The Queen moved to the bed. Aegon preferring to stay by the table, coincidentally where the wine was kept.
  “Boy or girl?” she asked.
“A healthy boy, Your Grace,” you smiled tiredly. Your son had small wisps of the signature Targaryen silver hair decorating the top of his head.
Queen Alicent grinned proudly, “Congratulations.” She kissed Aemond’s head, then yours, then the babe’s. “Does he have a name yet?”
“Daeron,” Aemond answered, “It means the great little one which is exactly what he is.”
“He’s perfect,” the Queen spoke softly, “Reminds me of Aemond. Such a small thing.”
Helaena rose, “We should give them their time.”
The Queen nodded, “I agree, sweet girl. Come along.” Aegon tossed back his goblet of wine before moving to follow his wife and mother out of the chambers.
“Brother,” Aemond called after him, his gaze still not moving from his new family.
  “What is it?” Aegon groaned.
“I shall let it pass this once but if I ever see you drinking or drunk around my son, I will cut your tongue out so that you cannot taste the ale anymore.”
No one said a word as Aegon just nodded quickly before practically running after Helaena and the Queen.
“I will not allow drunken idiots around him,” Aemond explained, “Even if he is my brother.”
You chucked lightly, “Fair enough, my prince.”
Aemond continued to admire your son, “Might I?”
“Of course,” Aemond helped you to sit up to make the hand-off easier, “Though,” you reached your hand towards his head, pulling off the eye patch, “you should meet your son as you truly are.”
Aemond gave a light smile before you handed him Daeron, “It’s scary how perfect he is.”
“I know,” you sighed, “Takes after his father.”
“Not in the slightest,” Aemond kissed the side of your cheek, “Well done, my brave girl.”
“Ao'll emagon naejot bodmagho zirȳla Valyrīha. Sepār hae ao gōntan syt aōha ābrazȳrys.” You'll have to teach him Valyrian. Just as you did for your wife.
Aemond nodded, “Indeed, ñuha jorrāelagon. Issa iā Targārien Dārilaros tolī mirre.” Indeed, my love. He is a Targaryen Prince after all.
  “I love you, Aemond.”
His eye finally moved to meet yours, “I love you.”
“And you,” you pulled the swaddle away from your son’s face and kissed it softly, “I love you too.”
“Īlon both gaomagon.  Tolī than mirros, ñuha tresy.” We both do. More than anything, my son.

summary: in which Leyla and Daemon are invited to Rhaenyra’s celebration for her fourth year in marriage to Laenor, it gets heated quite quickly.
Dear Motherhood Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you want to come? Leyla you could be in labour any minute now!” Daemon sternly says as he paces infront of her. The young Hightower rolls her eyes at her Husband. “I will be fine Daemon, stop worrying.” A dinner was going to be held in honour of Rhaenyra and Laenor’s fourth year in marriage.
Daemon had insisted that Leyla shouldn’t come because she was heavily pregnant with their fourth child Leyla watches as Daemon groans, running his hands down his face. It was as if he really did not want her to come to dinner with them.
She furrows her eyebrows, “Do you really not want me there?” Her voice quieted down as her gaze drops to her lap, her fingers instantly moving themselves and picking at her fingernails, an old habit picked up from Alicent. She was offended at how adamant Daemon was on his opinion that his Lady wife should not attend.
The Prince’s features immediately soften as he looks at his wife. “Of course I do, sweet girl” He kneels down infront of Leyla, “I just don’t want you to exhaust yourself too much” He kisses her hands. He knew of her bad habit, so he would delicately kiss her hands.
“Then it’s settled, I’m attending” Leyla tightly smiles. She attempts to get up but struggles due to the size of her stomach. Daemon automatically offers her his arm to which she gratefully takes and gets up with his help.
“Gods I wish this child will come out soon, I don’t know how much longer I can take this,” She huffs, one hand on her back as she groans at her back pain. She was a petite girl after all. Her frame small, making her stomach seem in proportion.
“Let’s hope the little one decides to not come out tonight shall we?” Daemon chuckles, his arm still held by Leyla as the two walk out of her solar. “Wouldn’t that be a turn of events” A chuckle leaves her lips along with a small shake of her head.
~
“Prince Daemon Targaryn, and his Lady Wife, Lady Leyla” The couple walk in, Leyla’s hand on Daemon’s arm for support as they carefully walk down the stairs. “Uncle, Leyla!” Rhaenyra stands up from her seat with a smile as she walks over to the two and embracing Leyla in a hug, quite awkward seeing as her swollen belly was in the way.
At the table, her father and sister were present. Both of them giving a nod to the younger. “Leyla dear, come sit. I have a spot saved just for you,” Rhaenyra pulls her away from Daemon and links her arms with hers.
She looked back at Daemon who chuckles before turning back around to face the front. Rhaenyra had her sit at the head of the table, 2 free seats on her left. The Targaryen Princess pulled out the chair and Leyla sat down with an awkward smile, everyone else was still standing as they watched.
“Daemon-“ She was interrupted by Rhaenyra’s voice, “Kepus, this is your spot,” The Princess gestures to the seat beside her. Leyla’s jaw slackened. She only looked to Rhaenyra, then her Husband then back to her front. Daemon was seated in between Rhaenyra and Alicent.
How odd of the Princess to not seat her husband beside her at a celebration for their marriage. And how odd Leyla found that her Husband was not seated by her side. Pushing the odd feelings aside. She smiles at her father who was directly across from her, a smile that was given back from Otto.
“Oh how good this feels, It’s been some time since we’ve all dined together.” Rhaenyra smiles as the servants pour all their cups with wine, apart from Leyla’s as she covers the cup with her hand, water only, she told them. “And as much as we are celebrating my fourth year in marriage with my dear Laenor, we are also celebrating the child that my Daemon and his wife will soo welcome!” She raises her cup and everyone follows suit.
Leyla cringed. His wife. His wife has a name. The young Hightower makes eye contact with her sister whose eyes slightly widen at the Princess’s words. She looks to her left where Daemon sat, he hadn’t batted an eye to her ever since he was sat down beside Rhaenyra.
The dinner celebration dragged on. Not much was said between Daemon and Leyla because well, they were seated away from each other. So instead, she made conversation with Laenor who was to her right. “Leyla, how ever did you manage to become a mother to three, well soon to be four, children at your age!” Rhaenyra brings everyone’s attention to her, everyone’s little conversations coming to a halt.
Leyla slowly takes a sip of water before answering. “I am just a dutiful wife I guess,” She shrugs, wetting her lips and smiling. “Forgive me, my memory is terrible, how old are you?” She wears a grin on her face, almost as if mocking her. “ten-and-eight.” Leyla answers, this time, with blank expression. Daemon side eyes the two women to his left.
Rhaenyra’s eyes enlargen the tiniest bit, her lips still curved upward. “My, let the poor girl rest, uncle.” She laughs, nudging Daemon who only chuckles. “She’s a wonderful mother to our children. She’s a natural.” He replies, finally looking at Leyla for the first time that evening.
The young Hightower briefly smiles before facing her front again. “You must be aching everyday. Such a small and fragile body like yours must surely be exhausting carrying all those children,” She chuckles, before taking another sip of her wine. The princess was, without a doubt getting tipsy.
“I’m quite used to it, Princess” Leyla shakes her head with a small scoff. “When I saw you heavily pregnant, Gods you still looked like you were…” Don’t say it. Don’t say it. Leyla said over and over in her head as Rhaenyra paused, thinking really hard to find the words.
Everyone else in the room felt the uncomfortable atmosphere. “Darling, maybe you should stop with the wine-“ Laenor interfered but it was no use, Rhaenyra had said it. “Like a little child-“ “Okay!” Laenor butts in, awkwardly laughing as everyone sits quiet. Leyla seemed composed on the outside, calm and unaffected by Rhaenyra’s comment.
But inside, she was fuming. How dare she say that to the only person to be able to give heirs for the Targaryens. Daemon stared at Leyla the entire time. He knew that comment was affecting his Lady Wife. Alicent coughs, Otto gives a displeased look at Rhaenyra.
“I just don’t know how you do it Leyla, I just cannot imagine what you go through during your pregnancies and birth-“ “I think there’s better topics to talk about than my pregnancies, don’t you?” She interrupts her with a fake smile. “We could talk about your children or your pregnancies but there is none to talk about,” Leyla comments before taking a sip of water.
She could see Rhaenyra was visibly affected by what she said. Leyla could see both her sister and father trying not to laugh. She knew of the whispers around the realm, the castle. That Laenor found pleasure with the opposite sex. And of course, both have denied it and yet it seems to be confirmed because during the four years of marriage, Rhaenyra has yet to be with child, producing no heirs.
“I-I’m sorry? I was simply asking-“ Rhaenyra furrowed her eyebrows making Leyla subtly roll her eyes. “Nyra.” Daemon sternly spoke, glaring at her niece. Silence filled the room once again. Daemon was right. Leyla shouldn’t have come to the dinner.
“I think it’s best I go,” Leyla breaks the silence, attempting to stand up but was quickly helped by Daemon. Rhaenyra stays sitting, her gaze hard on the table infront of her. Leyla’s words running through her mind. Alicent walks over, kissing her younger sister’s cheek. “Are you okay?” She whispers, to which Leyla nods with a small smile. “I’m fine.”
She wasn’t. And Daemon knew that. The young girl would always rant to him about her insecurities. Insecurities that he himself find beautiful. He knew that Rhaenyra’s comments stung the young girl. “Leyla…” Daemon attempts to comfort his wife but was pushed away as she walks away from him as soon as they step into their bedchambers.
“She had no right to comment about my stature. And-and what she called me. A little girl Daemon!” She shouts as she turns back around to face him who stands there. “She’s just like them all,” She chuckles bitterly to herself as she struggles to undo the laces to her dress.
Daemon moves to her, unraveling the laces to her dress. “I mean, who does she think she is. She knows what she was doing,” Leyla huffs as she slips out of her dress and slips into her nightgown. “And why did she sit you beside her and not me? Your wife, for gods sake-“ “Stop worrying about it, my love” Daemon hushed her. Resting his head on her shoulder and peppering her bare shoulder with kisses.
“But I can’t,” She moans. Daemon carefully turns the girl to face him, “She doesn’t know what she is talking about. Rhaenyra has not had the experience of carrying a child. And you, are producing Targaryen heirs, not her.” He says calmly, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she looks up at him.
“Do you think I took it too far when I said-“ “No,” He chuckles. “You were only speaking the truth” Leyla grins as Daemon kisses her forehead. “Come, what a night it has been” He ushers her to their bed.

End of the Day
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x His Family
Dinner with you and the kids was Aemond's favorite part of the day. His time was mostly spent in small council meetings trying to run the kingdom while Aegon was out doing whatever he pleased. Aegon had declared him Hand of the King early on in his reign, and Aemond was honored. That was before he had become a father and met you, though. Now he was trapped in a continuous cycle of counting down the minutes until he got to reunite with you and the children every evening.
He loved hearing his kids talk about everything they did during the day. Whenever they embellished the details of their day, he'd always look at you and see you holding in a laugh while trying to put on a serious face and play along with their stories.
"Father, I swear! Lightbringer actually talked out loud today, truly!" Your son proclaimed.
"What did he have to say?"
"He told me that he thinks I'm ready to ride, and you should probably start giving me flying lessons."
"You're not big enough to fly yet, maybe if you ate your vegetables so you could grow, you'd be in the air by now," Aemond said.
"Well, I guess I'll never be flying then."
Aemond sat up and asked, "Do you know how I lost my eye?"
"No.." Your son said hesitantly. Aemond had never opened up to the kids about his eye before. They had only ever known him to have one eye and assumed it was normal for some people to be missing one.
Aemond replied with the straightest face, "I refused to eat my vegetables, and the muscles in my face turned weak, and one day it just fell out."
Your youngest son's face turned white from his father's confession while your middle son sat up in his chair beside him, "I thought you said you lost it because you rolled your eyes and complained too much during your High Valyrian lessons?"
All of your children's attention had now been captured.
"What are you talking about? It got cut out when a tail hit him because he didn't make sure to always check his surroundings while he was in the dragon pit, that's why he has the scar," your eldest son stated matter-of-factly.
Thank the gods the kids started fighting about something else, so he didn't have to explain how he somehow managed to lose his eye three different times.
The two of you watched as your toddler stood up on her seat so she could tell a story. She can't help that she makes big gestures with her hands while talking and always somehow manages to accidentally knock over someone's goblet. Standing up like she was giving an important speech was her solution to this dilemma.
She never ceased to be the most entertaining part of dinner. Your daughter slapped her brothers in the face whenever they wouldn't stop picking on her, and Aemond couldn't help but smile. He was the one that gave her that idea, and she never hesitated to put them in their place.
You were pregnant with your fifth child, and out of instinct, Aemond would rest his hand on your belly whenever he wasn't eating. He'd sit there content after dinner, listening to everyone's conversations, and his mind couldn't help but drift off sometimes.
Aemond never got to eat dinner with his father and liked to imagine this is what it could have been like. He loved how his kids felt so comfortable around him that they had no reservations about sharing all their thoughts. Kids were never something he thought too much about. He never imagined he'd enjoy being a father this much, let alone look forward to being surrounded by his children at the end of a long day.
It felt overwhelming at first, having people who loved him unconditionally and looked up to him. He spent most of his life seeking the approval of his parents, and it felt strange that he was in that position now, being in charge of making little humans that loved him so much feel worthy and enough. Aemond saw the way his mother always yelled and hit Aegon, and now that he was a parent himself, he couldn't help but wonder if that's why he turned out to be such a sad person. He would never hurt his own kids, the thought of even raising his voice at them made him feel guilty.
He came back to reality when he saw your daughter wiggling around, dancing with a knife in her hand that she had just used to cut herself a slice of cake, and her brothers yelling at her to put it down.
Aemond let out a chuckle while watching the scene in front of him. Having kids changed him more than he had ever expected. He had never been too close to Aegon, Helaena liked to be left alone with her bugs, and Daeron was away. The camaraderie that came with having siblings was something he never really had the chance to experience.
Watching his children fight like animals between each other but be ready to kill someone that ever hurt one of them, forced him to put a lot of his past into perspective. Too many of Aemond's years were wasted carrying resentment towards Lucerys. He knew if his children were in the position of watching their brother or sister being hurt, they would've done the same exact thing that Lucerys did.
He wished his forgiveness and understanding had come earlier in life, before things were too late to fix. Aemond's kids wouldn't be like him, though. He'd teach them about forgiveness, not judging people too harshly, and trying to see things from other people's points of view. He would try his hardest to pass on his wisdom and be a father worthy of their innocent love.

You couldn’t find your daughter.
The last time you saw her had been early in the morning, sending her over to her nursemaids as they took over. She’d be spending majority of the day there, catching up on her reading and slowly beginning to learn more equity. You didn’t like it when the day turned out in such a way, because she was your daughter, and it was technically your job to teach her such things, but when yourself and Aemond became busy at the same times, you had no other choice.
This morning, you were called by Queen Alicent, your mother-in-law, requesting that you spend the majority of the day with her, sharing between both the council room, but also her chambers. She’d asked that you come in on some of the council sessions that would be taking place during the day, aiding her in the errands of the kingdom she was suddenly having to take care of due to the King’s declining health.
(Although, she had also mentioned that she also wished to spend some time with you regardless, seeing as it had been a little too long for her liking. The two of you had gotten along pretty much from the moment you met, with her relishing in the perfect match between yourself and Aemond. Ever since then, you’ve been like another daughter to her.)
You were constantly feeling honoured and a little proud of yourself whenever Queen Alicent would ask specifically for your presence during these meetings - after all, you were only her second son’s wife, with barely any authority placed upon your shoulders when it came to making final decisions like this.
When you’d first told her of your worries of others opinions on your presence there, she’d instantly shut them down. Queen Alicent head adamantly stated that she valued your opinion, not only as a member of her family, but as a woman. She knew you’d go with the options that would be best for the kingdom entirely.
No one had ever said anything to you, despite the lingering glances they’d continue to give you throughout each meeting. You had an idea that the reason nothing had happened was both on the Queen’s orders, and for the fear of your husband’s wrath should you mention just a slither of an occurrence to him.
The reason why Aemond was unable to properly look after your daughter was due to the training he had with Sir Criston Cole in the yard. It was an errand he didn’t enjoy - in fact, every time he knew he had it forthcoming and afterwards on his return, he would grumble and groan about participating in it.
When it came to Aemond, he much preferred staying in with his family, reading some other tome he’d found in the archives of the family library that spoke of extravagant histories. Aemond Targaryen had never been into tourneys and training like that, but, he knew, as was his duty as the second son of the King and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, he needed to learn to protect those close to his heart - his two girls at the top of that list.
So, despite wishing he was anywhere else rather than in that particular yard, as onlookers watched on with beady eyes, he keep himself there. The practice would allow him to feel confident in himself that he could protect his wife and daughter. Not that he would never not try, anyway, but the reassurances were nice.
The bonus was that he was good at it, meaning those of the guard would command that he help protect the rest of the kingdom, alongside them. No one was about to pass up a good warrior like Aemond Targaryen, even if he did grumble and glare at them.
Therefore, due to the both of you being busy with duties neither of you were particularly happy to be doing, you had trusted your only daughter in the care of her nursemaids. Before you’d left her, you promised her that her mother and father would call for her later, at a more suitable time where the three of you could be together as a proper family in the safe confines of your chambers.
It was difficult to really show off the love you had for one another in the way you admired, majority of the time. You couldn’t really do so when roaming the halls of the castle, or when walking some of the better streets of the kingdom.
As royals, it was customary for you to keep straight faces, to smile politely in a nice way, and to only ever speak when you were spoken to, more so than ever seeing as you were a woman. To you, as a princess, the wife to the second son of King Viserys, it was of paramount importance that you taught your own daughter the same thing you were taught, too - to be a lady when seen in public, to be prim and proper, but when safely wrapped in the warm embrace of those your trusted wholeheartedly, be whoever you wanted to be.
Even from a young age, yourself and Aemond did your absolute best to teach her that, knowing it was to be a fundamental part of her personality if she were to survive in this part of the world she was chosen to grow up in. Thankfully (as you’d always say), your daughter had taken after her father immensely in every way, and not just in her appearance, with her violet eyes and silver mane - no, she was also fierce, wishing to one day be wearing a similar armour to her father and wield a sword that represented his.
This dream of hers wouldn’t disappear, no matter how many times you heard others try and quell it. It wouldn’t, though, not when you, Aemond and Queen Alicent herself allowed her to dream whatever she wanted, promising her that one day, they would all come true. And, if it was up to the three of you, you’d make sure it did. Aemond had told her it would, too, many times, but reminding her that, for now, the two of them would have to pretend it was the same when fighting with wooden swords in your private chambers.
And, that’s exactly where you were headed now.
After bidding a swift goodbye to your good mother, promising her that you would make sure to see her again before the day was over (to which she replied, preferably with my son and granddaughter, with a chuckle), you’d gone back to where you’d left your daughter with her nursemaids early that morning. But, upon entering, you noticed she hadn’t been there - no one had.
Despite believing that surely she’d be safe if she was in the company of her nursemaids, knowing they’d protect her with their lives as they had vowed, for just a split second, you could feel your heart dropping to the very bottom of your stomach, feeling as though you were going to throw it up out of nerves. But, you told yourself that everything was fine, willing yourself to calm down, and repeatedly telling yourself that you simply hadn’t checked enough rooms to be completely worried yet.
However, it only spiked up more than ever when you’d gone down to the yard to speak to your husband, wanting to see if maybe he had seen her. Only when you came up short, everything felt worse. Not even Sir Criston was there, meaning you couldn’t question him about anything, even if you’d wanted to.
There was a part of your mind that was desperate to think logically, to think rationally - maybe Aemond had left to see her. Yeah, you’re sure that was it. Still, that one part of your mind wouldn’t stop nagging at you with dangerous, pessimistic thoughts.
Palms sweating and eyes flickering madly from one corner to the other, and then only repeating the same process, desperation is clear in your actions as you tried your damn hardest to keep a levelled composure. You knew it wouldn’t do well for anyone else dwelling in the confines of the kingdom’s walls to see you acting so wildly and brash, not when they were so used to you being the rational one that calms your husband down during his own heightened tempers. There would be no use in causing a mayhem if there was nothing to worry about, which is what you continued to tell yourself, hoping that the more you thought it, the more likely it would be on the other end.
It wasn’t like you could help these particular feelings, either - you were a mother after all, and you were always going to worry. No matter the circumstances, no matter the place, no matter the people… you would always have these lingering doubts that something was wrong with your baby if she was ever not in your’s or your husband’s arms.
That’s why your steps stayed hurried and frantic, and your breaths started to become slightly laboured as you rushed to your shared bedchambers, forcing the doors open and hoping above all hopes - to both the Old Gods and the New - that something would be inside that would give you the answers to calm your racing heart.
And, the sight that greeted you, face-to-face, the moment those doors opened, managed to fill your heart with the upmost of love.
There, standing on your bed, feet bouncing her up, down and around as she yelled out with her squealed, tiny giggles, was your daughter. Her hair was an absolute mess, no longer styled in the plaits you’d given her that morning; strands of silver falling into her face from the length of it - again, wanting to take after her father. It wasn’t bothering her, though, not when there was an elated smile plastered right upon her lips as she attempted to push her father further away from her, hands pulled out in front of her like she was warning him off.
Said husband of yours was continuing to stand at the end of your bed, a teasing, expectant expression on his face, like he was awaiting something. Aemond was slightly hunched over, preparing for the next opening when he could pounce upon your daughter and attack with all the love he had on offer.
As all this was happening, you stayed silent, watching on as the two of them breathed heavily. That was a sure sign that this had possibly been happening for a short while now - as it always would, when she was playing with her father.
“Kepa (father),” she paused, taking another deep breath, the flush of her cheeks apparent as another small giggle escaped from her lips. “Kepa (father), I don’t know!”
Walking ever so slightly closer to her, Aemond tsked, shaking his head. Still, the reading grin never left his features. “Yes, you do, ñuha byke zaldrīzes (my little dragon)…”
My little dragon. You absolutely adored it when he called her that, making you feel proud and domesticated with the two of them, with your little family. And, she was his little dragon, in every aspect - looks, personally, heritage. It would only be a matter of time before she possessed her only companion, and you couldn’t wait to be there with her for that achievement.
However, too caught up in the haze of the love you held so dearly for them, you hadn’t realised your daughter spotted you, her eyes sneakily looking for a way of escape and heart jumping for joy when she spotted you lingering. “Muña (mother)!” her yell pierced through the walls of the chambers, clambering herself off the bed as quick as possible (trying to avoid her father’s arms reaching for her), and wrapping her tiny self around one of your legs, safe beneath your dress and hiding herself behind the material.
Watching her, and noticing what had caught her eye, accompanied by her correct High Valyrian, your lord husband spotted you, as well. His once teasing, mischievous expression instantly turned softer at the sigh of his lady wife, stepping a little closer to the two of you. “My lady wife, I did not expect to see you until later in the day.”
You chuckled, smiling back at him lovingly before reaching a hand out to stroke the top of your daughter’s head, both a motherly gesture and an attempt to brush some of the silver strands back from her flushed face. “As did I,” you replied, “but when I went to check in on Visenya only to find her not there… I panicked.”
With a sympathetic smile, Aemond looked lovingly down at you, at the worry that was still slightly hidden behind your tone of his at your admittance. He reached over until his hand was clasping behind your neck, bringing you forwards and all the more closer to him so he could place a delicate kiss against your forehead. The whole gesture was so loving and tender, so much different in comparison to how he usually portrayed himself anywhere else that wasn’t in your chambers with his little family.
“Kepa came to get me,” your daughter explained, not realising that she was beginning to rat her father out. Her chin was propped up against your leg, looking up at you with such innocent eyes - violet, like her father. “He told me it was time to learn more High Valyrian.”
At her words, you focused your attention back on your husband, cocking a brow at him as your smile slowly faded just a smidge. No one would’ve noticed it, but, Aemond wasn’t no one - he knew you better than he knew himself. He sighed, “I know I should’ve told you, but, I didn’t think you’d mind.”
“You know I always check up on her, Aemond,” you spoke, voice quiet and just a tiny bit exasperated as you reprimanded your husband. You should’ve known Visenya would’ve been with her father all along, for reasons exactly as this one. But, the worry of a mother would always eat away at you until your daughter was back in your own grasp. That’s just how it was - you couldn’t help yourself.
As a second longer passed and the silence stilled within the room, the small slither of annoyance you previously felt dissipated at the apologetic, longing look he was sending you. You always gave in easily when it came to Aemond Targaryen, no matter the face he was pulling at you - he was just that handsome. You could feel a small shift down by your leg, spotting your daughter continuously looking from yourself, then over to her father, trying to fully understand the situation playing out in front of her, and you couldn’t help but feel refreshed again, like you hadn’t had any worries to begin with. “And,” you began, smiling wide down at her, Aemond instantly knowing your next moves just from one look at you, “you know I always like to join in when you learn High Valyrian.”
The moment the last word fell from your lips, you bent down with quick movements, picking her up within your arms and holding her tightly against you before she could even think about trying to run away. She squealed in utter excitement, laughing and giggling all the same, feet kicking upon your sides as she desperately tried to leave your embrace.
“Now,” you began, tilting your head down at her, before looking back up to your husband, “what were you teaching her?”
Aemond began to stand a little further back, already sensing that you were going to join in on what he had been doing to your daughter earlier, and sensing that more chaos was about to be brought forwards, giving you a little more room. After all, this was how the two of you always taught your little Visenya High Valyrian, because, at the end of the day, it worked out in the end, helping her remember her words. Plus, she secretly loved it, too, but, she’d never tell either of you that.
“I was teaching her to say one day, I am going to ride the biggest dragon in the world.” A prideful smile lingered upon his lips after he’d finished, looking at his daughter fondly. There was a look in his eyes that told the two of you he’d make sure it ended up true - he’d make sure the two of you always got what you deserved, and more. That was his role as husband and father, and he would continue to do so until the Stranger forced him to go.
You gasped mockingly, looking back down at your little girl, pretend disbelief marring your features. Visenya had stopped in her attempts to escape since, now looking up at you with her doe eyes, a small, subtle smile on her lips, waiting. “You know how to say that, my sweet girl,” you cooed sweetly, “kepa (father) taught you not too long ago.”
The memory came back to you instantly, of Aemond speaking about how excited he was of your daughter claiming her own dragon egg to you. It was something that had been on his mind practically since the day you found out you were expecting, and ever since then, he’d gone on about it. So, of course, he was going to teach your daughter how to boldly proclaim such a thing. It was all he wanted to hear from her.
Visenya’s face scrunched up when you’d reminded her she’d been taught it not too long ago, raising her hands in the air like the little drama queen she is. “I know, but I can’t remember!”
“Well,” you began, pointedly, in a sweet tone that had a lingering tease within it, one that came accompanied with a look that instantly told your husband that the usual was about to happen. “You know what happens when you can’t remember…” you gave a pause for more effect, sneakily looking down upon her before the biggest smile broke out upon your features, instantly digging your fingers into her sides as you began tickling her. Even more giggles than before erupted throughout your bedchambers, mixed in with both pleads and begs for you to stop, but, you wouldn’t. It was obvious she was having a fun time just from the sounds she was emitting.
Continuing on with your playful attack, you moved the two of you over in the direction of your bed, lying her down on her back as her little legs kicked in the air, trying to feign you off. Aemond came up beside you, looking down upon his family with loving eyes, laughing at your daughter’s demise, her peals of delight capturing his heart and squeezing it tight.
There was nothing he simply loved more than being trapped within his chambers - something he enjoyed before he’d met you, anyway, preferring his own company rather than having to pretend around others - but, that had only intensified when his two girls came tottering along, looking for someone to cling onto and protect them, something he’d always do even in his sleep.
Nowadays, he never truly complained or minded as much when he had to go about his duties and pretend to be someone he wasn’t really, putting on a front just to please some overweight lords who wanted to get in his family’s good books - not when it meant he had something special waiting for him towards the end of the day when he returned home.
Aemond Targaryen had the two of you under his dragon wings, arms wrapped firmly around him and not letting go any time soon, and he couldn’t ask for anything more… not when, already, he’d felt like he’d accomplished everything within his life.

One day Alicent comes over, reader lets her in, and she can hear this loud like scream laughing in the other room, Amealia’s shrieks of joy and amusement and Aemond’s laughing, so loud and and so joyous and free, and reader says ‘oh sorry Aemond is playing with Amaelia in there’ like this is the most normal occurrence. And Alicent can’t believe that’s her son. That’s he being so silly and free. But this is Aemond with reader and especially Amaelia this is him everyday now
Hey there dear!! once again, thank you for your patience, when I don´t reply right away to an ask like this is because I know my silly brain will wanna write something longer, and this was the case! I ADORED THIS SO MUCH, THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS!! my heart
Tumblr media
As she steps through the threshold of her son's home, Alicent's big doe eyes widen even more, fixing her gaze on her daughter-in-law as her ears catch the shrieking noises and the boisterous sound of her granddaughter's laughter coming from another room.
The music of her Amaelia's delight is already familiar to Alicent. The little girl is a lively spirit, so different from how Alicent's own children used to be. So different from how Aemond has always been: quiet, brooding, reserved. An eternal wallflower.
This is why it's not the sound of Amaelia's laughter that freezes Alicent on the spot, but that of a man's: deep and breathy, straight from their chest, and so, so very warm.
Surely this isn't Aemond. It cannot be.
Not when it's not even noon yet, as Alicent's here to go out with Aemond's family for lunch.
She's never met anyone that's already this giddy in the early morning.
Is there another man interacting with her granddaughter!? does Alicent's daughter-in-law have another man in the house!?
This flash of judgment must have passed through Alicent's eyes without meaning to, for her daughter-in-law is quick to set her nerves at ease when she gestures to the other room, after taking Alicent's coat in hand.
"Sorry for the noise! Aemond is playing with Amaelia...it's one of those days where we struggle to get her dressed!" her daughter-in-law says with a playful chuckle as she leads Alicent towards the hall.
What greets her eyes - that had grown so tired around the corners, from having only witnessed grief and melancholy in her lifetime - is a sight that she's only ever seen in distant dreams and delusions of another life where her children didn't grow up to distance themselves from her.
Aemond doubles over the tiny frame of his daughter as he laughs, before picking her up, swinging her around up, up, up in the air before dropping her onto her bed and making her bounce, before he tackles her and tickles her until Amaelia's crying, "no more, no more!!!!"
But she exclaims with a bright, toothy grin and eyes that sparkle with happiness, as she turns to see her dad, and flings her arms so he can pick her up and do that again.
Aemond picks her in his arms and sways her before filling her with a series of loving kisses to her tummy and cheeks that just make her laugh even more.
Alicent's long practiced refined smile doesn't convey the depth of her happiness in this moment. Her heart, a wilted rose, blooms once more, and breathes with joyous life at sight. She turns around, not wanting to intrude in such a happy moment.
She manages to lightly squeeze her daughter-in-law's shoulder, before gratefully accepting a cup of coffee to wait for Aemond to get Amaelia ready.
Alicent never mentions what she sees to her son - so unused to open-hearted conversations in her old age. But it's a memory that will always be treasured in her heart from now on.
It's a memory that makes every moment of pain she's endured, worth it.

Hide and Seek
Dad!Aemond drabble
A/N: I cannot stop writing these. SOMEONE TAKE THE INTERNET AWAY FROM ME!
Tumblr media
"Ready or not, here I come!"
Your husbands voice carried across the little nursery, followed by the giggles of your little daughter as she hid under a sheet on the couch.
Aemond stomped around the room like a monster from the stories he would tell before bed. You sat on the other couch, smiling at their little game.
"Where are you, little girl?" he called out. "Come on out!"
He stalked towards the chest full of Lyra's toys.
"Ah ha!" he cried as he opened the box. "Hmm," he said, on discovering the box was empty of any child. "Where are you?"
Your daughter giggled again, no doubt imagining her father stomping around.
"You know what's going to happen when I find you, hmm?" he threatened, smiling evilly.
Lyra giggled again.
Aemond looked everywhere; under the sofa, behind the doors, behind the curtains.
Then he went for the blanket lump. He stretched out a hand, feeling the lump. Lyra giggled again.
"Hmm, what's this?" he wondered aloud. "A lump? It seems very hard." He gazed thoughtfully at the 'lump'. Lyra giggled again. "Perhaps it is a stool."
Your husband slowly lowered himself as if to sit on the 'stool'. He 'sat', carefully making sure he did not put his full weight on your daughters back. She started wriggling, seeking to escape.
"Hmm, this stool is rather uncomfortable," he observed to you.
"Is it, dear husband?"
"Yes," he nodded. "It keeps wriggl-"
At that moment, Lyra rolled over to one side, dislodging her father from his position. However, her roll had shifted the blanket and revealed her.
"HA!"
Aemond leapt to keep her from escaping his clutches. "I found you, little girl!" Lyra screeched and wriggled around as her father tickled her mercilessly.
"Muña!" she laughed. "Muña he- aah!" your daughter pleaded.
"I'm not getting in that!" you chuckle.
"Kepa!" she shrieked. "Let me go!"
A particularly loud shriek from your daughter sent Ser Arryk rushing in with his sword drawn, thinking you were under attack.
Aemond stops his relentless assault to glare at the Kingsguard knight.
Assessing the situation, Arryk blushes. "My apologies, my Prince."
As he turns to leave, your husband stops him. "I would advise you to learn the difference between cries of fear and shrieks of laughter, Ser," Aemond warns.
Ser Arryk nods and leaves.
Your daughter has taken advantage of the knights intrusion to escape her father's clutches and wriggle her way onto your lap. You instinctivly put you arms around her, protectivly.
As the door shuts, your husband looks to where you hold your child and he smiles evily.
"Now," he says, "where were we?"
You sense what he is about to do just before he does it.
"Aemond," you warn, "don't you d- aah!" you yell as he pulls you off the couch and into his arms were he tickles you. His daughter allies herself with him.
You cannot even speak for laughter. You try to wrestle your daughter off you so you can defend yourself, but you are unsuccesful, and so you search for a new target.
You have an advantage your daughter doesn't know about. Everyone thinks Aemond is not ticklish in the slightest, but you know otherwise.
You allow him to tickle your sides as you reach up to tickle behind his ears.
Aemond reels back, slapping your hands away, but you still have the token of surprise. You leap on top of him, attacking his ears and neck. He struggles beneath you, but cannot throw you off. Your daughter changes sides easily.
Together, you and your daughter attack Aemond.
That is until the door opens again and Alicent walks in. You stop, the smile fading from your face.
"Mother..." Aemond says. "Ummm..."
Alicent simply looks at the three of you curiosly, before rolling her eyes and tutting.
"You were suposed to be in the council meeting, Aemond," she says, "not playing with your wife and your daughter."
Aemond gently pushes you off him and pulls his daughter tightly to his chest.
"Unfortunatly, mother, I find my daughters entertainment to be far more important thatn council meetings," he informs. "But if you insist..."
With that, your husband rose, still holding Lyra.
"Where are you going?" you ask.
"To the council meeting."
"Aemond," Alicent shouts after him as he walks down the corridor, "you can't bring you daughter to a council meeting!"

Bastard
Aemond Targaryen x Reader (Daughter of Rhaenyra)
Summary: Aelor finds out that you are not his biological mother.
Disclaimer: English is not my first language so I apologize for any mistakes.
part of the universe of "the queen and her husbands" but can be read independently
Masterlist Serie
Tumblr media
It was no secret that Aemond had days when he felt uncomfortable seeing Aelor because he reminded him of Alys Rivers. Still, he always tried to be a good father, one better than Viserys. That's why when he just saw his son enter his chambers with a red face and full of tears he was already ready to cut off the head of whoever he had hurt his son. But that had to wait because now he had to deal with reassuring his child.
"Come here"
Another time Aelor would stay where he was and try to calm himself down. He wanted to show his father that he was already a big boy, but right now all he wanted was to be in his arms and be comforted so he ran to Aemond and let him sit on his lap.
"Why don't you tell me what happened?" Aemond asked as he stroked the boy's back in circles.
"Baelon called me a bastard" replied his son, still crying but at least he didn't seem as agitated as before.
Well, he forgets the murder part because Aemond can't kill his other son but he would definitely punish him for bothering his brother. Though he could already imagine Baelon telling him that he couldn't punish him for telling the truth. It didn't matter that you and Aegon legitimized the boy to the rest of the world, he would always be a bastard.
It was not your intention to lie to Aelor. They never told him that you were his mother, but you didn't deny it when he first called you Muña. He was just copying his siblings and you didn't feel the need to correct him because for you he was another son.
"He also said that Muña is not my mother," he said with a trembling voice "Is it true?" Aelor asked devastated because deep down he already knew the answer. Baelon was right to point out that he didn't look like any of his family. All of his siblings had platinum or blonde hair while he had brown curls. Aemon wanted to make him feel better by telling him that their grandmother, Alicent, also had dark hair but Aelor wasn't a fool. His hair was nothing like their grandmother's.
"Your brother is wrong" Aemond replied instantly. It felt disrespectful for someone to say that because even though you didn't give birth to Aelor, you were the one who took him in first, you were the one who, upon learning of his illness, flew to Harrenhal and took care of him as if he were another one of your children, you were the one who convinced him to bring the child to live with you, you raised him as if he were yours so you were his mother "You were born of another woman" when he saw that his son was about to interrupt him he continued speaking "But your Muña will always be your muña. She loves you more than anything just like she loves your brothers. It doesn't matter that you were not born to her, you are as much her son as your brothers are"
"Your kepa is right," you said from the door, drawing the attention of both. You had found out what happened because Aemon went looking for you worried because he couldn't find Aelor. You were furious when you heard that Baelon had called his brother a bastard, you wanted to question him and find out where he had heard that word from and why he said it to his brother, but you were too worried about Aelor's reaction. You had always feared that once he learned the truth of his parentage, he would hate Aemond, Aegon, and you for killing his birth mother. "You weren't born of me" you started walking towards them "But that doesn't make me love you less than your brothers. You will always be my son" you affirmed as you gently caressed his face.
"You promise?" the boy asked, still not sure. Yesterday Baelon had no problem playing with him and today he seemed to hate him. Grandma had days when she seemed to love him and others when she barely tolerated him. The same with his uncle Egg from him, he sometimes stared at him with deep sadness. What if one day they tell you something and make you stop loving it?
"I promise" you kissed his forehead "How could I stop loving you when you're one of the best huggers around?" you said managing to make Aelor smile. You snatched it from your husband's lap and started tickling him causing the room to fill with the boy's outrageous laughter. You were sure anyone could hear it in the hallways but you didn't care. You just wanted your son to forget about the bad moment that happened.
Aemond looked at them with a smile. He would never stop being grateful to the gods for letting him survive the battle at Eyes God and he would never get tired of seeing you with their children. No matter what the interaction, you could be singing to them, reading to them, playing with them, or, like now, comforting your child. Every time he witnessed the bond between you and the children he always warmed his heart.
"Kepa, help," Aelor asked between laughs.
"I'm sorry, son. But I have a council meeting," Aemond said, drawing your attention.
"Wait, do we have a council meeting?" you stopped tickling your son and put him down instantly, worried that you had forgotten your duty "Aemond!" your husband had taken advantage of your moment of distraction to start tickling you and your son soon joined the attack "You liar" you complain between laughs.
"I'm sorry, my dear wife. But I couldn't let you continue torturing our son."
