The slow exhale before Daemon addresses his brother, him hesitating before seeing him, the stuttering as he tries to keep to business, him helping his brother sit the Iron Throne and crowning him with his own two hands - I’m going to need a week to recover.
If there were any doubt that Daemon loves his brother and his family it’s now nonexistent.

Somewhere in middle of retconing Malyen they created Malina with decent sibling energy. Making them sleep together feels pretty incesty. And NOT in the ~hot~ Borgias/Targaryen way...

i know literally no one asked but when aemond was remembering daemon putting him over his lap this is the position i meant. it's very handy since it lets rhaenyra get a good view if she wants, but also leaves aemond's mouth and hands free if she wants to get in on the action.

the realm’s delight.
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra.
How long has it been since I’ve fell in love with a character like I did with you? Your pain, your joy, your freedom and your fire. All of these things made you so unique and magnetic in a way that pushed me to be obsessed over House of the Dragon as a tv-show like I haven’t been in maybe a decade.
WARNING : all spoilers.
Tumblr media
‘Nyra, she embodies a moment of my life, she is a woman fighting the madness and the patriarchy but all the while owning who she wants to become. When Milly first appeared on my screen, her smille was blinding. The way she exhaled mischief and confidence bound me to her eternally in a way few characters ever did. No one wants to give her the throne when it begins, not even her own father but she asks him repeatedly through this first season, “if you want me to become your heir, fight for me”. Brave and Bold and Dragon. I love how she dares to ask for what she has been shamed for deserving, for what seems to be the toughest to ask. How humiliating it is but eventually she sees the bigger picture as she’s growing up and she goes for what she fucking deserves.
Tumblr media
She is both a giver and a receiver. I love how it’s pretty well depicted all season long. She’s choosing her lovers, the father(s) of her sons, but she gives away bits of her that she will never get back for the throne. These intimates little things which are hidden and kind of broken in the name of duty and what’s supposedly right. Morally speaking. Yet she’s untamed and fucks who she bloody wants.
Speaking of fucking, a scene truly embodies to me the sense of womanhood which is so often overlooked or not understood. When Daemon took her to that brothel in that scene, he lit flames in her. Suddenly, it’s all heated touches and urgency and she truly burns with her own desire for the first time in her life. He slices her open with lust and ablaze sensations. And she does meet him halfway with a desire so wild that it does burn him. And from my perspective, that lack of control pisses him off. She is more than that young thing that he thinks he can bend to his will. She is a Dragon. So eventually he leaves her there, but guess what? She still wants to have sex, she needs to have that orgasm. You rarely see a woman allowing herself to seek pleasure that way, and to actually find another partner in the minute or so to pretty much finish what Daemon started. That is one of the most powerful thing I’ve ever seen through a screen.
Tumblr media
So, she finds our dear Cole. And she has sex with him. Following that episode, another pivotal moment happens. He asks her, “Run away with me, become my wife and leave this life” for two reasons, he loves her and he is not fully comfortable with the fact that he broke his vows by having sex with her, that royal hypocrite. And she basically says, “I’m sorry, I like you, but I won’t leave the throne and my crown for you”, because, man that is the Iron Throne, duh. He is shocked. Here lays of one of the most iconic line “You want me to be your whore?” and that is truly, to me, the greatest accomplishment of this show. It’s a role reversal. Kings, men in general, are known to have mistresses and that is normal and not really criticized, but when a woman does? She’s slut shamed. Rhaenyra will forever suffer of that (besides the fact that Laenor is not the actual father of her sons) but she sticks to her wants. She said no. And she’s my hero.
The way House of the Dragon painted patriarchy and that specific pressure on women, from Alicent and that feet moment, to Vaemond screaming “She is a whore!” as precious last words, are real. I found it interesting how women are discriminated by duty and yet sexualized through pleasure, mostly their own, or then their lack of pleasure in this show. Usually, women are super sexualized through the eyes of men, but here Rhaenyra seeks pleasure for herself instead of trying to please someone else. It’s major to me, all season long. And the parallel of divergent growth between Rhaenyra and Alicent is smart that way. Rhaenyra never pretended to pretend, they all knew she was taking what she decided that she deserved when Alicent let herself get choked by her father’s greed and the weight of giving heirs and what is morally good ; what is even more interesting is that she turns to religion to find comfort in all the uncomfortable decisions she took. Again, quite hypocrite in my opinion but it draws the prism of patriarcal values found in most religions.
Tumblr media
The suffering Rhaenyra goes through is kind of unbearable. She is selfish enough to protect what she deems to protect, and it’s taken away from her almost each time, Aemma, Alicent’s love, her innocence, Harwin, her father, Visenya, and most of all, Lucerys. That final frame in the last episode? Don’t get me started on how powerful it is.
Daemon is the only constant in all of her losses. Daemon is hers from the first second they appear on screen together, and even she doesn’t have him right away, she never lets go, never stop loving him. She pursues and lives with the idea that they are meant to be together. Blood of my Blood. Incestuous ties apart, their relationship is beautiful. They earn each other. They support each other. They love.
Tumblr media
I strongly think (look how my humor is edgy) that we should take pride in our sins because they make us more empathic with whom are struggling with the same guilt. By owning your mistakes, you make sense out of them, and it’s the only way, to me, to grow into a better version of yourself. When Lucerys says to his mother “I’m not like you, I’m not perfect” it does embody the weight of all her choices. Emma D’Arcy acting in that sequence are phenomenal. They are the purest form of devotion and it underlines flawlessly what it took Rhaneryra to be where she is at that moment of her life.
Tumblr media
Rhaenys, as the Queen who Never was, went early on through the same misogyny as Rhaenyra. But she chooses to accept her fate and to play her part. I love the scene where ‘Nyra says I will create a new order” and how Rhaenys scoffs and answers “Men would sooner put the realm to the torch than see a woman ascend the iron throne”, and well, ain’t that truth is our society as well?
Tumblr media
I will never be a son either. I can’t help but think how real this is. They make a burden out what is our greatest power. Womanhood is where truly lays the most creative form of all. Was it really that doomed from the start? Can’t women be deserving to be on that fucking throne? This might be a show about Dragons and Kings but this is in its essence a show about how women deserve more, if not all.
+ side note : I met Milly Alcock last month, and she is the cutest and so radiant! I was lucky enough to speak with her a few words and get her to sign one of my portrait of her as Rhaenyra. Lucky bitch indeed.
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra, in your spirit, I’ll allow myself to take things I want but not only the one which I need, but also the ones that I deserve. This is what this endless fight is about. I will try to create a new order and I won’t shy away from a little bit of blood, because I think I have the fire of the Dragon too.

One thing I have always admired about the Blacks is how they are a tight family unit, compared to the greens.
The Blacks did not even start out as a one whole family. Rhaenyra and Daemon both had different spouses, children from different marriages. And after Rhaenyra and Daemon finally married, the Blacks all became one in the true sense of the word family. They always have each other’s backs.
The greens, on the other hand, always seemed to me as a necessary alliance, but never a true family. For Alicent and Otto, the green kids and grandkids were nothing more than their political chess pieces.
Even when Daemon thought that “a son for a son” would hurt the greens just as much as they hurt Rhaenyra, it didn’t really have that effect. The only one who truly suffered was Helaena. The others, especially Alicent and Otto, saw this as a direct attack on their faction, and as a result they needed to strike back. But they didn’t truly give a damn that the little boy was gone from their lives. They lost an important chess piece. That’s about it.
There are a lot of things which make the greens seem as an alliance rather than a family. Such as the fact that Aemond secretly seeks to take the throne from his brother. He doesn’t actually do it, but it is constantly implied how much worthier he deems to be compared to Aegon (both in the book and the show). And he didn’t hesitate to take charge and wear the Conqueror’s crown while Aegon was incapacitated.
Next, there is Daeron, who barely even knows his so-called family, given how much time he spent in Oldtown. He is a Hightower pawn with a dragon, and used as such throughout the whole Dance.
As for Helaena, while she doesn’t have issues in the book, she is still treated as the least important green. Nobody truly cares about her suffering. Alicent put the crown on her head and called her “Queen” yet she constantly undermined her position, and acted as if she was still the Queen. And after Helaena does commit suicide, there is barely any mourning. Alicent plots to have her son married to Cassandra Baratheon and produce male heirs, just to avoid having Rhaenyra’s son end up on the throne.
Finally, we have Ser Crispin Cole. He likes to think that he is part of the “green family” but he really isn’t. He is the family guard dog. They are basically using him. Using his hatred for Rhaenyra for their own gain.
The Blacks have such great family vibes, that it’s a shame they didn’t focus on it in the show. The show writers were really lazy in the writing of the family dynamic for Team Black. They spent so many happy years on Dragonstone before the war started. We barely got a glimpse of that.
Don’t even get me started on how they didn’t show even a bit of Daemyra’s married life. Episodes 8-10 were straight up business. It would have been nice to show how happy the Blacks were away from the Court drama and the greens’ bullying.

Dark!Daemyra Targaryen x Crybaby!Reader
A/N: y’all filthies were hungry for part two so here we go, again do not come at me. This is very taboo with dad Daemon and step mom Rhaenyra. Feel free to skip this if it ain’t your cup of tea; I have other vanilla ones. A little angsty start!! Not proof read. I’m going to bed lol I will do it later :)
tw: naive reader, dubcon-ish,breastfeeding (lactation kink), infantilism, incest!, spanking.
Tumblr media
It has been eight moons since Rhaenyra Targaryen claimed the Iron Throne, it had been a bloody affair truly- her own kin beheaded and hanging off the gates of the Red Keep as an example.
Usurp the throne and pay its price.
People that Y/N once called family all hung from the gates, her favourite aunt in chains with her little cousins. Daemon and Rhaenyra did their best to keep their children away from the monstrosity that followed with war, however keeping Jace, Luke, Baela and Rhaena proved to being harder. They won the throne regardless with every green supporter executed or incarcerated. Only after Rhaenyra secured her position did she send for her eldest daughter to be brought to King’s Landing from Dragonstone.
The battle had turned both Rhaenyra and Daemon bitter, while to the court they had begun celebrating their victory. With enormous galas being thrown for their children’s engagements. Both Jace and Baela being named future heir to the throne, they had begun being more involved in the politicking while Rhaena and Luke began to make journeys with their grandfather Corlys.
You felt alone in it all- Joff, Aegon and Viserys were all little making them the joy of everyone’s eyes and what remained of you? A mere bastard girl at court with nothing to her name. You were happy that the war ended, that your mother sat the throne; your family whole. You had spent all your life hidden, buried in your books or lost in the gardens. You didn’t care much for courtly attention, what you did care for were your kepa and mūna.
You went from nursing yourself to sleep in between them for many moons to the war making them forget of your existence, you waited, you truly did. However as the days passed, the more scared you became. You would cry yourself to sleep with fear of death, and now you felt alone. You stood at court and yet no one saw you. A giant table set for supper and yet there was just you awaiting your family. They never came.
You had found solace elsewhere, making multiple trips with your lady’s maids to the city as everybody made efforts to sew Kings Landing back to its proper glory, many of Daemon’s gold cloaks would accompany you; not wanting to loose their heads to dark sister. You offered baskets of milk, clothing and food out to the people of flea bottom and perhaps in those few hours you spent with the common people. You felt more seen than you had in over six months, your visits became frequent, and while Daemon and Rhaenyra believed you were holed up deep in the libraries in the Red Keep; you read stories to children at the Blackwater beaches.
You learned of tales of your own birth and how you might have been one of these common people had your father not been so considerate of his own blood. It warmed you heart and yet upset you more. He never spoke of your birth mother and you never questioned him on the matter, not until you sent out your lady’s maid to find the tavern you took birth in. It was weeks until they returned with the name of the tavern, which too they relayed to you with hesitation. A princess in a tavern…blasphemy.
You had found your people, while your mother perished while birthing you, an older tavern wench recognized your lilac eyes the second you set foot into her establishment, they cared for you the first eight moons of your existence until gold cloaks came knocking down their door to retrieve you for your kepus, the King. They did not fight, mayhaps their one child of many would be raised in riches. They closed the bar down as they celebrated your return.
Everyone of the barmaids began hounding you with questions.
“Do ya remember us little lady?” one questioned “I bathed you as babey”
“Aye- but I named ya little fires!” a woman named Chataya replied.
“Tell us litte fires, have ya gotten one of those monsters?” the older woman questioned, you happily smiled as you nodded your head.
“Vermithor.” you said smiling ear to ear.
“Vermithor!” they all cheered as they raised their cups of ale, making you flinch but giggle along. You spent a better part of that afternoon basking in happiness, there wasn’t a single room in the Red Keep that spread with this much joy at your presence.
That evening at the square named you the Princess of Flea Bottom.
A fitting title for a very different reason from when Daemon was named the very thing for his whoring habits.
Just as always even tonight, other than Joffrey everybody seemed to have found themselves occupied.
“Sorry sister, there are council matters.” Jacearys apologised on his and Baela’s behalf for their inability to join you for supper. Lucearys and Rhaena had extended their stay at Driftmark. You had spent the better part of supper scraping your peas from one end to the other as Joffrey went on about his new horse gifted to him by some lord- Massey? Baremon? You weren’t sure which.
“A proper princess finishes her food!” the shrill voice of Septa Marlow scolded you yet again.
That night you attempted something you would have never tried before, you frustrations seemed to have frozen your nervousness as you pattered your way over to the royal apartments in Maegor’s Holdfast with a book in one hand and a doll in another. Hoping that tonight Daemon might read to you for the night, you wouldn’t even beg to lay with them; merely spend a few moments in their company. The queensgaurd placed by their doors already had succumbed to slumber as he leaned against the wall. Your meek nature made it far to easy to evade him as you entered the Queen’s apartments.
The door to their bed chambers were slightly parted as you heard chatter from within, a burst of joy spread through you. After much time they had been in their bed chambers at an acceptable hour, perhaps tonight you might sleep all through the dark skies till the sun graced King’s Landing. You smiled to yourself, already the forming the sentence of request in your head so you wouldn’t stammer while speaking. Running the words over your head twice before approaching the door.
You peaked in, immediately freezing as your knock barely reached the door. You eyes fixated on the image within the chambers. Your heart sunk, small twitches of anxiety moved through your fingers as your gaze fell upon a girl stood in between Daemon and Rhaenyra. Daemon’s lips attacking her neck as she suckled at Rhaenyra’s breasts, your feet took you backwards. Knocking over the vase placed on a side table by the door, a loud crash through the corridor.
Daemon’s eyes immediately shot to the door, furious at whoever would dare interrupt the Queen and her consort, and even more who would dare to peak in. He pushed the whore on the bed and unsheathed his dagger, ready to swing it at whomever he would find at their chamber doors. He heard hurried shuffling feet as pushed the door open with all its might, the queensgaurd placed at the door looking disheveled as he appeared to make himself look coherent. He stumbled to no evidence to who the onlooker might have been, other than a book laid on the ground.
He picked up the book, turning it to read it’s cover. A tale of romance that perhaps only one person would have read it in all of the Red Keep. He shook his head, cursing himself at what you might have seen as he returned inside to grab his cloak. He threw the book at his wife, who looked at him questioningly; she frowned at the cover as Daemon apologized to the doe eyed whore that both Daemon and Rhaenyra would have enjoyed tormenting.
“Sorry pet, here’s your gold.” He placed four gold coins on her lap before leaving to find you.
You ran as fast as your feet would allow, hiking your skirts with both hands as your discarded your doll by the servants chambers, everyone of them shouting at you; concerned of your well being. You had managed to climb over boxes just as you did with trees and jumped over the lower walls, ridding yourself of the Red Keep. You hated it here, you wanted to go home. You wanted everyone to just return to the days at Dragonstone. The metal fencing tugged at your skirts, ripping through a good inch or two of your lavender skirts and dug into the skin of thigh, drawing blood that in the moment you hadn’t registered somewhere in the scuffle you had also misplaced a slipper, leaving your one foot bare as you escaped. You just ran, escaping the vile portrait of another girl nursing on your mother.
Pushing through crowds of people as you ran towards the Dragonpit, Vermithor had already felt your inner turmoil, growling and freeing himself of his chains as he stomped his way out of his holding to the courtyard; awaiting your arrival as he still growled at the dragonkeeper trying to settle him down. They already knew the sudden outraged behaviour of the bronze dragon had to do with your arrival, in the darkness however they couldn’t tell a thing.
You ran towards your dragon, looking behind you to see if anyone followed which you were sure they would. Your father might have been as furious as you were at them, if not worse.
“Vhalar Vermithor!” you yelled at him.
“Soves!”
You hurried to pull yourself onto his wing, yanking your body up onto your leathered saddle. “Sovētēs!” you ordered once more before your dragon pushed its wings back to fly towards the dark skies. You hadn’t even bothered to tie yourself to him, you just held on as your heart hammered within your chest.
Daemon arrived to the dragonpit moments later, already finding a torn piece of your dress stained in blood and your doll discarded at the servant grounds, he cursed under his breath as Caraxes was brought out of his holding. He wasted no time in mounting his dragon after he made sure that the dragon keepers would send word to his wife. Caraxes would hunt them down to be sure, he had to.
Vermithor flew for hours to be sure; you had not a clue of where he took you. Your mind toiled of far worse things.
What were you thinking? The court didn’t want you and neither did your kin. The word bastard began to ring in your ears as you cried high above the clouds. The more Vermithor flew the more it became apparent that he was flying north, the air began to grow colder until he finally landed upon a strip of mountains. You sighed, looking around at the hill forests as you shuffled off him. You yelped out loud feeling the throb in your thigh, you began trembling again.
You wanted to go home.
You wanted to go back to Dragonstone.
Vermithor grunted, already irked that you had distrupted his sleep and yet he sympathized with your sorrow, the cold that had began to seep into your bones that your torn summer gown did nothing to shield you from. The bronze fury let out a gust of fire, circling around himself and you to keep him warm as he snuggled himself on the grass. You shuffled closer to his neck as you rested against the warm reptilian skin, crying into your hands. Afraid and alone.
Daemon had flown for hours, Caraxes had lost the scent of your dragon past the burning ruins in the Riverlands. He returned at dawn, failing to find you as he stomped into his chambers. He explained it all to Rhaenyra who looked terrified, hurrying to send out ravens to every lord to seek for a bronze dragon and their princess dressed in lavender. Daemon made trips himself, scouring through Dragonstone and Driftmark first, knowing the Vermithor spent most his time on those lands. To no avail.
He regretted no reaching out to you sooner, most of it was to blame the monstrosity that clouded Rhaenyra and his blood at the aftermath of the war. The enjoyed paying whores to leave those girls bruised by the morning, how were they to do that two their own zaldrititos. They couldn’t bare the thought of touching you while their demons ran wild in the sheets, you were far too pure to taint so early. Many night they’d free themselves of the council at late hours, Daemon himself would return covered in blood after he “interrogated” the green sympathisers. He’d peer into your bed chambers just as Rhaenyra would, watching a small frown that they would pet away from your sleeping body.
You had fallen asleep at some point, the simmering burnt grass lulled your sobbing frame to sleep as you hid under Vermithor’s wing. Come morning you woke within the same burnt circle, the sun glaring in your eyes as Vermithor rested from a few feet from you; nibbling on a roasted sheep. You shuffled up, groaning at the throb on your thigh, some where along the night the cut had stopped bleeding but left a better part of your gown soaked in blood.
You groaned as you stood up, looking around to have an inkling of where you might be, you limped toward Vermithor. Petting his skin.
“Can you take me home? Dragonstone?” you asked him, hoping he’d be done with his meal soon. His yellow eyes merely looked at you from his periphery before thudding his head to the ground to rest. “Please?”
He moved his snout to push the leftover sheep towards you, before closing his eyes to slumber.
You had begun to venture around the edge of the woods, luckily finding a pond to wash your wound. More tears followed as the gash burned anew, the cruel cold water bringing you much discomfort. Hours went past, you had begged your bronze dragon to take you home a dozen times, to no avail. He had begun to drag himself to a mountain cave, holding his fresh kill within his mouth as he huffed every two breaths; awaiting your limping frame to keep up with him.
Perhaps this was your home now, you were hungry, and ate around the cooked flesh of the kills Vermithor would hunt, you were in pain. Both physically and mentally, perhaps they didn’t care, perhaps they threw another gala as they were rid of their bastard daughter.
“What if she never returns Daemon?” Rhaenyra sighed as she held rocked baby Visenya to bed. “She won’t survive out there.”
“I know that! Don’t you think I know that?” Daemon snapped, still beating himself over your disappearance. “She has her dragon with her, he will protect her.”
Various lords around the seven kingdoms sent out watch parties, hoping to spot the princess or atleast her dragon. Four days past and not a word, until finally a white raven arrived from The Vale. A parchment containing the sightings of Vermithor atop their mountains and talks of Hill tribes and Mountain men attacking whatever that dragon was trying to hide. All attempts to make contact were met with dragon fire, killing the Knights of The Vale and Hill tribes alike.
Daemon was enraged as he rushed to mount Caraxes, armed with Dark Sister while he rode with all his might to arrive at the Eyrie before the dusk began to decorate the horizon. They pointed toward the taller peak, warning him of Mountain men all guarding the cave for any sitting of the bronze fury. Daemon flew above with Caraxes, watching as the savages below shoot arrows and boulder like rocks in the cave; above all he heard the furious roars of Y/N’s dragon. He had burned every last one of them in a fit of rage, the glowing carnage could be seen from miles below the mountains as Caraxes landed with a thud just outside the caves. Daemon approached the dark cave with stealth, singing a Valyrian lullaby that his grand sire sung for his dragon, one that he sang with Y/N while he helped her claim the enormous beast.
You hid behind your dragon’s tail, groaning in pain as a rock yet again bruised your skin. The first two days stop the mountain were peaceful. You had found yourself berries that kept your fed just enough to curb the rumbling, the fresh water pond helped both you and Vermithor and the gash on your thigh began dry as your cleaned them with washed leaves. Your dress on the other hand, went from lavender to dirt brown in no time, your feet covered in little cuts at you rid yourself of your only slipper. Your family consisted of Vermithor and little cave bugs, that was until the people Vermithor was stealing sheep and goats from came knocking- charging at your door.
You had fought them for two days, with barely enough sleep as they kept throwing things and shooting at Vermithor. He burned them and yet more came, then came knights who knew your name. Perhaps green sympathizers that wanted your head, you burned them too. You cowered behind Vermithor sobbing until you heard a familiar lullaby, you cried louder in your hands, you feared you had succumbed to madness.
“Y/N! Riñītsos?” you heard Daemon’s voice bellow in the darkness. You were sure somebody had come for you, and it sure wasn’t Daemon. You huffed pulling yourself onto Vermithor, hoping to scare away whoever it was.
“Dracarys.” you said, making Vermithor let out a blow of fire around the cave. You sat atop him with agony and rage in your eyes, you were exhausted and were sure you would die by the end of the fortnight. That was until the warm glow of the fire flashed the white haired figure stood at the entrance of the cave.
“nyke issa riñītsos.” his voiced echoed through the cave.
“k-kepa?” you bottom lip wobbled as you shuffled off of Vermithor, barely able to hold your own weight together.
As much as Daemon wanted to run to grab you, he couldn’t. The bronze fury still held a murderous stance towards him, he had to wait for you. You feet slowly limped forward to him, clearing your eyes in the little light that remained in the burning darkness. You whispered his name once more to which he replied, holding his arms out until he saw your body in the light.
Frail, your dress covered in soot, dirt and blood. The braids on your hair undone and unruly, stained in dirt and blood too. Wounds on your arms and a bleeding cut on your head, Daemon took in a sharp breath once he finally had you in his arm, you collapsed- whimpering as he rushed to cover your body with his cloak.
“Iksā ȳgha, iksan vaoreznuni.” He whispered against your temple as he pushed you hair away. Daemon carried you to Caraxes, helping you mount him first before situating himself behind you. He was perturbed to be sure, that you would be so reckless but in the moment he felt nothing but relief as he flew back to the Red Keep with you in his arms.
Tumblr media
Two days, it had been two days as you graced the world of consciousness and then drifted to slumber again. The day Daemon returned to the Red Keep, carrying your cloaked frame in his arms as your lady’s maids rushed to care for you. Both Rhaenyra and him and sat through the ordeal as the cleaned your wounds, he wanted to backhand every one of your maids as your hissed and cried out as the girls tended your wounds. Upon being tucked in bed, Daemon sat with you for hours, humming a lullaby under his breath as he caressed your silver wisps.
When you had awoken for sure, you had jolted awake. Eyes darting over your canopy until they fell upon Rhaenyra and Daemon sat next to your bed. Both looked tired and yet furious, their faces reminded you of what you had seen, soon filling your relieved heart with bitterness.
“What were you thinking?” Rhaenyra questioned darkly, leaning forward to rest her elbows on her knees.
“The Queen asked you something.” Daemon said in addition.
You scoffed at the two of them, frowning at their audacity to question you after what they had done. You groaned as you sat up, shuffling yourself off your bed from the other end. The poppy you were sure they made you consume, helped with your aching joints. Daemon’s chair scrapped as he approached you, holding your arms firmly in his hands as he questioned you once more.
“Nothing, my queen.” you said bitterly, fighting to tear yourself away from his grip.
Your tone irked her even more, far more than you using her title to defy her. “We don’t ask you for much, that you remain with us, and obey us.” she lectured “Perhaps we have been to lenient with you.”
You still said nothing as you scowled at the floor, “Do you know what they do to the girls at Old Town? The ones that behave as poorly as you have!” Daemon scolded you this time as he dragged your body back to your bed. You fought harder against his hold only irking them further.
Daemon held your body down as they plopped you on your belly. You felt them shuffle over you before Rhaenyra lifted your sleep shift from your backside, hastily pulling away at your small clothes.
“Let me go!” you screamed “Damn you, damn both of you!”
Daemon held you face down, muffling your screams as you felt the leather resting against your rear. “How many days did we not sleep proper , sweet wife?”
“Seven days.” she replied with venom in her voice.
“Seven hits.” Daemon agreed. “You better count them!” he warned you.
You felt the first hit throb against your rear, you bit your lip to starve them of a reaction. Another slash of the leather burned against your rear. “You better count if you want her to stop.” Daemon tutted.
“Go to hell!” you spat.
They had not a clue of why you acted this way, surely they would have explained what you saw but your defiance angered them way beyond measure. They wanted their meek, shy girl to return, even if they had to spank it back into you.Another harder hit radiated through your bottom, this time you cried out; only to be hit again when you finally screamed out “One!”
“Have you a clue of how afraid we were?” Daemon scolded along with the leather connecting to your arse again.
“The Vale knights you have killed? The damage alone!” Rhaenyra yelled before spanking you again.
“What if something happened to you? Do you see the wounds under a fortnight alone?” Daemon loosened his hold on you as you succumbed to your punishment, now fighting to sob.
“You could have been killed!” Rhaenyra bellowed as she got her last hit in.
You scurried forward into the bed as Daemon let you go, you hugged your knees as you shielded your face away from them. Your muña would have yelled at you once more but Daemon pulled her out of your chambers as she heaved in anger.
They hated you.
They left you to ponder over what you had done, you killed people, you ran away from home. You were horrible and they hated you now. You hadn’t realized when you began to sob but you did, you lady’s maids visited once to stoke the fires by the hearth before leaving. You sobbed into a pillow, letting every last shred of emotions in your body wet through the silk of your pillow.
Rhaenyra resumed court for the day, still fuming at what her daughter had done. Reparations were made of the dead knights to the Vale as Daemon did his best to calm her down. Perhaps they had gone two far in punishing you, however you needed to understand if not fear leaving this castle ever again. She would have chained you to the bed for all she cared, fighting this hard to sheild you from a war. Atleast her sons knew how to fight, her step daughter by Laena were fierce. You were mouse disguised a dragon, spoiled endlessly. She hated that it had resorted to this and would comfort you sooner than later.
Daemon on the other hand had handed her his belt, the simmering rage he had felt as he held your frail body back to the keep, unsure if you were dead or just asleep in his arms. The pained screams he had to hear as they cleaned your wounds, all because you were too stupid to ask them or yell at them instead of running. He hated himself too, he should have known better. Known that she would wither if left alone for far too long.
They approached your room way after supper, trays of untouched food remained outside your chambers as a lady’s maid informed them of your refusal to move. Rhaenyra huffed as she picked the tray of supper as Daemin held the door open for her, it had been a while since she had fed you herself.
You still remained the fetal position in your bed, small whimpers left your body as the pushed through the bed curtains. At first she believed you were crying your sleep, a prank of guilt ran through them as they saw your reddened rear peaking through your sleep shift.
It wasn’t until you whimpered out more words that they realized you were awake, regressed to a mere child afraid of monster as you cried.
“I-I want to go home,” you said through hiccups.
“You are home,” Daemon whispered as he pulled your onto his lap.
“D-dragonstone, home,” you whimpered.
“Oh, zaldrititos. This is our home now,” Rhaenyra cooed at her.
“No, not my home- daor!” you wailed louder, only growing more distressed as you refused to look at them “Ao vēdros nyke! Daor nyke!”
Rhaenyra gasped, “No- we could never hate you.”
“Always want our riñītsos,” Daemon whispered against your temple.
You shook your head as more furious tears fell from your eyes “The girl! I saw her, s-she was feeding on muña. You want her, n-not me.”
You began to shuffle away from her as reached forward to touch your face “We were afraid of hurting you sweet pea, I never get this angry but we have fought so hard to keep all of you safe.”
“Not knowing where you were was death, do you understand? I couldn’t breathe knowing you were out there, alone.” Rhaenyra confessed.
“You have been alone and angry, we are so sorry riñītsos,” Daemon said as he pushed your hair away. “We should have come for you sooner.”
Daemon began to pepper kisses down your face as Rhaenyra approached you again, this time you let her touch you as she caressed over your bandages.
“kepa,” you whimpered as more tears fell from your eyes. “muña,”
“You need to eat,” he whispered in your ear, nudging you to sit up right. You whined, I wanting to untangle this cocoon you had craved for months. “No, just be here.”
Your tummy grumbled and yet your refused to let this warmth wash away for a stupid cut of steak or mutton. You nuzzled your nose in the peaking curve of Rhaenyra’s bosom, hoping she would let you nurse on her; you felt far to dazed to be refused of such tenderness. Rhaenyra being a mother new exactly what you wanted, she shuffled backwards, tugging at the front strings of her dress robes. Her breasts spilling through the loosely tied corset.
You hungrily latched at her pink nipple, all too inviting at your groaned the second the sweet milk hit your tongue. She tapped your nose to make your suckle gently at her sore breasts and yet your happily lapped as your nurses on her. Daemon shuffled away making you whine, he shook his head at your impatience. Which soon turned to joy as he returned with your discarded doll in one hand; dressed in a brand new red and black dress. His other hand held the book you wanted him to read to you. He slotted himself back in yet again as you smiled around Rhaenyra’s breast.
Daemon read through passages like melted butter to the tongue, with every pause he pressed a kiss to you temple or caressed through Rhaenyra’s hair. Before Daemon flipped through the first chapter you had switched to the other breast as you suckled her dry. One thing was to be sure, it would be a while before her miles dried up for good. Not that she cared as she doted over the contentment that washed over your features
You felt content, warm and safe. You were bathed and clean, fed and sated as your were cuddled in between the two people you loved the most. You muña letting your hair as your kepa read you to sleep, the wars had ended, the blood shed seized and perhaps just for a moment. The Red Keep felt like home.

I need to get this out of my system. What are these fans of Rhaenyra, Daemon, Daemyra, or even the three, who hate the Velaryon boys ?
Already, from 1, Rhaenyra will hate you for hating her precious children.
Second, no one on Team Blacks cared that Jace was a bastard. Nobody had a problem with that. So why did you, a fan of this so-called team and these characters, have one ?
Then... where does this idea come from that Daemon didn't like boys, and would have harmed them if the war hadn't broken out because he wanted his sons to inherit the throne in their place ?
Literally, it's based on nothing. Well, in fact yes. Rumors that Daemon was obsessed with the throne. You know, literally the information from the maesters who hated him. Because in fact, in the story itself, Daemon did nothing active to really have the throne, unlike the Greens or Corlys.
But beyond that, Daemon's blood would have ended up on the throne anyway, because Baela was Jace's fiancé.
However, I see people saying that Daemon didn't care about his daughters in general and were too sexist / misogynistic to accept that his blood to the throne would run through one of his daughters, rather than one of his sons.
Are we talking about the same Daemon who first extended the hand of reconciliation to Viserys so that his daughters were properly introduced into the world after their birth ? The same Daemon who fully accepted that his daughter Baela was a tomboy and let her do whatever she wanted ? (Also, in the books, there is no evidence of any discord whatsoever with Rhaena, so that argument is bullshit too) The same Daemon who accepted Rhaenyra as queen and defended it until the dead his position ?! Ok... I don't know why, but I have the impression that your Daemon is not the same as mine.
Then, from what I remember from the book, Daemon avenged Lucerys' death. Twice. Not one. Twice. The first time in "Eye for an Eye, a son for a son, Lucerys will be avenged" mode by killing a child of the Greens, and the second time by planting Dark Sister in Aemond's eye... Literally a tribute to the old gesture by Lucerys. And as for Jace, I remember that Daemon seemed to fully get along with him on a military level.
But apparently all that meant nothing !
Revenge for Lucerys is apparently for these people just an excuse for Daemon to satisfy his violent impulses and attack the Greens... (Whereas if that were the case, he would simply have to send assassins for each Greens ? What he didn't do ?) Also, if it's just a matter of satisfying an impulse, why kill Aemond the way he did ? Apart from a direct homage to Lucerys, what does that bring to Daemon in a selfish personal way ? Why not just kill Aemond by stabbing his sword somewhere else in his body ? The result would have been the same. After all, Lucerys had already been avenged. Also, the agreement with Jace was just a mask to better fool him and try to get rid of him later.
In fact, all this opinions have no support with Daemon's canonical actions. And I don't understand them. They are based solely on negative rumors against him by maesters for the throne, that sought to tarnish his image.
It's still crazy that people read Fire and Blood, especially the part about revenge for Luke and the way Daemon killed Aemond, and come to say that : Yes. Daemon would have totally sought to kill Lucerys himself if there hadn't been a war. He probably hated him for being a bastard and being a threat to his blood sons !
Basically you're accusing Daemon of being a misogynist and a blood purist... Basically what the Greens are.
You know... the ones who usurped the female heir that was Rhaenyra, refusing to accept a woman in power, and actively trying to harm her children for years without hiding the contempt they had for them ?
No, really, I find it ironic that members of Team Blacks, fans of Daemon, Rhaenyra and Daemyra are basically saying that Daemon is like the Greens.
The same guy who never actively tried to have the throne (And if anyone tries to tell me that Daemon's marriage to Rhaenyra was to try to gain power as her husband... Why was it never in fact against of Rhaenyra once she crowns Queen ? Seriously, be consistent), accepted Rhaenyra, a woman, as Queen, who let one of his daughters be a total tomboy and do what she wanted, help to educate the Velaryon boys over 10 years, having twice avenged the death of Lucerys and described as having gotten along well with Jace.
No really, I find it crazy that some people are convinced that Daemon despised his boys and planned to harm them one day.
Especially since such an argument quickly collapses when we realize that he spent 10 years with them before the war without any problems being recorded ? Seriously, if Daemon was planning to kill the Velaryon boys... why wait so long ?
Seriously, people who think that are just idiots in my eyes.
Even maesters who actively hated Daemon didn't have the guts to insinuate such a thing !
Nothing in the text indicates that Daemon hated the Velaryon boys, planning in any way to harm them. We have to stop talking stupid things now.
Even the series, which didn't understand much about the real Daemon Targaryen, doesn't suggest that Daemon has a problem with these boys !

TAKE TWO with pictorial evidence:
So are we ever going to talk about Rhaenyra slipping her hand under Daemon’s pants to grip his ass or her eyes damn near rolling into the back of her head during sexytiems? (my gif--hehehe!)

《Can I request platonic Yan Luke and Jace with a sister like reader? Like reader isn’t their sister but visits Dragonstone a lot and they got man when they saw her talking to her real brother and or a boy?》
I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THIS ASK LOL
But I love my babies so I still have to write this!
Jace and Luke are very attached to their darling, especially if you take into consideration that they don't have any sisters of their own. I imagine that she's probably a little older than Jace, so it gives them another positive female role model other than their mother. Specifically, Jacaerys and Lucerys have a hard time dealing with Daemon becoming a part of their little family unit, especially since their fathers (both Laenor and Harwin) had both died.
Dragonstone is a pretty dreary place, and there are no other children there other than Rhaena. So, when (Name) comes to Dragonstone for a visit, both of them are so happy!
Luke follows her around like a lost puppy, always behind her as she trails around Dragonstone. Jace would be the one to drag her around to his whim, and they're constantly with their darling, no matter what time of day it is.
When she brings her younger brothers with her to Dragonstone, Jace and Luke get extremely jealous! Jacaerys doesn't exactly have a problem with sharing her attention, but like... they both feel a little threatened. Luke especially, because he's generally pretty insecure.
I think they'd both try to get Rhaenyra to take in their darling as a ward. This way, Jace and Luke wouldn't have to worry about having to share her attention.

The hurt Rhaenyra felt over Viserys, and mainly Alicent’s, betrayal festered into an anger that Viserea watched unfold over the next three years. Both girls spoke only when necessary when the King or Queen were in their presence. Viserea and Rhaenyra now both held their tongues in council meetings and spent all of their free time on dragonback.
The two’s relationship had grown stronger and stronger over the years, both of them healing from the hurt of feeling as though they were constantly betrayed. They knew their truest allies were each other.
The first ‘I love you’ to be spoken in a romantic sense had fallen from Viserea’s lips the night of Viserys and Alicent’s wedding, along with a symphony of moans as the two spent the night exploring every inch of each other.
Amarda and Ser Ryden both knew of their relationship now, though neither seemed to mind it and helped keep it hidden. Amarda was moved to Dragonstone due to her old age. Viserea insisted the maesters there would be able to help her and the work would be easier. Ser Ryden remained beside Viserea.
Viserea’s trips to the city had become less frequent, although Blood and Cheese seemed to have been spoken to by Daemon as they never threatened Viserea again and had begun being even more protective over her. The one time Rhaenyra joined her, they wouldn’t let the two of them travel more than a couple paces ahead of them.
The dreams hadn’t come in a long time. Nothing of Aegon’s birth. Nothing about the Stepstones. Nothing about anything.
The two Princesses sat under the Godwood, both of them in riding gear from that morning and seeming to pour over the studies that they needed to revise. Neither of them could focus on the words in front of them, between the nameday celebrations they knew were taking place and the singing of the lute player.
His singing suddenly stopped and Viserea looked up when he greeted Alicent.
“Did I tell you to stop?” Rhaenyra questioned and Viserea forced back a smirk at the look on the player’s face, “From the top.” He had just begun singing when Alicent called for them,
“Rhaenyra? Viserea?”
Viserea rolled her eyes, knowing it could not be seen from her position next to Rhaenyra. Alicent had always been one for formalities and proper addressings, yet you could tell when she was trying to be especially nice because she would drop them and address them only by name.
“Yes, my Queen?” Rhaenyra answered.
“Your presence is wanted in the outer courtyard. The royal hunt readies to depart.” Alicent told the two.
“We have decided to remain here and read instead.” Rhaenyra spoke for both of them, never looking up from her book.
“You may go, Samwell.” Alicent’s dismissal caused the lute to immediately cease.
“You are to stay by order of the Princess.” Rhaenyra said quickly.
“The Queen commands you to leave the Godswod at once.” Alicent said.
Temper would be Viserea’s downfall. She knew it and she could not stop herself as she stood from beside Rhaenyra and looked to Samwell,
“Your Queen consort commands you to leave, but your two Princesses and future ruling Queen command you to stay.” Viserea said, calming only when Rhaenyra stood up beside her and whispered,
“Ñuha prūmia. (My heart).” Rhaenyra looked to Samwell, who looked as though he was making the most difficult decision of his life, “You may leave.”
“The King wishes for you two to join us.” Alicent said, her voice as polite as ever, as if Viserea had not just said what she had.
“The King has much to celebrate. He does not need me.” Rhaenyra’s voice held no emotion as she looked to Alicent.
“He wants for us all to be together. Perhaps… the hunt could be… fun.” Alicent’s words held no confidence, though she tried.
“Is it the King’s command?” Rhaenyra asked, neither of the girls’ faces changing as Alicent’s hopeful expression changed.
“Yes, but it-“
“Then at once, Your Grace.” Rhaenyra said, gathering the book from the ground where she had set it.
“But it needn’t be.” Alicent tried again, “None of it needs to be this way in truth.”
“No, it used not to.” Viserea said, following behind Rhaenyra.
They were changed into something more presentable than riding gear and shuffled into a carriage along with Viserys, Alicent, Aegon, and a couple handmaidens of Alicent’s that Viserea hadn’t bothered to learn the name of.
“Well, isn’t this splendid? The whole of our family off to celebration and adventure in the Kingswood.” Viserys said excitedly, trying to crack the tension that was ever present around the four adults.
After a particularly rough bump in the roads on the outer edge of King’s Landing, Rhaenyra looked to Alicent,
“Should you be traveling in such condition?” There wasn’t any malicious undertone or sarcasm in her voice. Rhaenyra had lost her mother to childbirth and still grew concerned any time a woman with child was around. This didn’t change for Alicent.
“The maester said that being out in nature would do me well.” Alicent replied.
“Well, you will be with your own child sooner than late, and make me a proud grandsire… both of you.” Viserys said, a genuine smile on his face as he looked between Viserea and Rhaenyra who exchanged uncomfortable glances.
Neither were stupid. They both knew that they would be expected to marry, but both were beyond stubborn. They would only marry if it meant that they could continue being together… and that meant their options for potential suitors was limited greatly. They also knew they would be required to produce heirs. That only added to the complicated nature.
“It’s not so bad. The days are long, but Aegon came quickly and without fuss.” Alicent said, soothingly.
You could tell by the look on Alicent’s face that she hadn’t meant her comment the way it had come across, but that didn’t change the effect it had immediately on everyone in the carriage.
Viserea reached for Rhaenyra’s hand, comfortingly taking it in her own and running her thumb along the back of it.
“You should both ride out with me today, join in the chase.” Viserys said, trying to cut through the tension again.
“I’d rather not.” Rhaenyra said immediately.
“I don’t feel up for riding today, feeling rather nauseous.” Viserea said at the same time.
“The boars squeal like children when they’re being slaughtered. I find it discomforting.” Rhaenyra added on, smiling as Aegon began babbling in the handmaiden’s lap.
“It’s a hunt, girls. How would you two like to participate?”
“I’m not sure why I must.” Viserea said this time, the underlying meaning in her words clear. ‘You don’t truly view me as a daughter. I don’t have to do anything here.’
“You are both my daughters, the Princesses, and you two have duties.” Viserys’ smile looked more forced this time as he replied.
“As we’re ceaselessly reminded.” Rhaenyra replied in a low volume.
“I’m sorry?” Viserys questioned.
“As we are ceaselessly reminded.” Rhaenyra repeated louder.
“You wouldn’t need to be reminded if you two ever attentended to them.”
“No one’s here for us.” Rhaenyra finally said, her voice still calm but the frustration clear.
The rest of the carriage ride was spent in silence, Viserys having no reply, and the silence was only broken by the applause from the gathered crowd at the hunting grounds.
As if proving their point, neither Princess stepped out of the carriage and it was only Aegon who was announced and praised. No one questioned where their future Queen was, further proving they still viewed Aegon to be their future King.
Viserea took Rhaenyra’s hand in hers, using the slight privacy of the carriage to kiss the back of it before they stood and exited.
When they entered the tent meant for their family, they both wandered aimlessly until they found a group of women sitting around the Queen, gossiping about the war in the Stepstones. Viserea nodded at the glance Rhaenyra gave her and they stepped closer, both of them taking glasses of wine.
News of the war was frequent, but they still absorbed every word whispered of it. No matter how he had hurt them, they still feared for Daemon’s safety, and Corlys was a man they both respected and neither wanted to lose. They watched as Alicent introduced Lyonel Strong and someone started rambling about how the Stepstones were suited only for savages.
“Perhaps the Princesses… can give us some insight.” Lady Ceira called to them.
“Neither of us really could, as we have never been to the Stepstones.” Viserea said, smiling politely at Lady Ceira and chuckling nervously.
“Your dear uncle is the great mind behind this war. Is he not?” She questioned.
“We wouldn’t know. We haven’t spoken to Daemon in years.” Rhaenyra answered this time while both of their polite smiles faltered.
“Since you supplanted him as heir.” Lady Ceira pointed out, taking both of the Princesses by surprise at her accusatory tone.
“Daemon made his choices, Lady Ceira.” Alicent defended, “Princess Rhaenyra was more suited to the role.”
The defense brought slight smiles to both Viserea and Rhaenyra’s faces, some small amount of anxiety about Aegon being named heir being calmed by Alicent defending Rhaenyra’s claim.
“He’s made a mess and the King must put an end to it. Send fleets and men and clear out the Triarchy for good.” Lady Redwyne suddenly spoke, stroking the dog she held in her lap.
“But the crown is not at war.” Viserea said, her and Rhaenyra exchanging confused glances.
“The crown… is at war, Princess. Though the King refuses to admit it, we’ve been dragged into it by your uncle and the Sea Snake.”
Strike one, speaking to Viserea as though she was stupid. Strike two, insulting Daemon. Strike three, insulting Corlys. Even though Rhaenyra wasn’t usually the first to snap between the two Princesses, she would snap if you thought to insult three people she cared about in one sentence right in front of her.
“And how have you served the realm of late, Lady Redwyne, by eating cake?” Rhaenyra questioned. The atmosphere immediately tensed and the only sound that could be heard from the group was the dog eating the cake from the woman’s plate.
Viserea left first, though Rhaenyra followed close behind her and they made their way outside.
“I wonder Princess, was your own second name day as grand as this?” The golden hair and lion across his chest gave away that the man was a Lannister, his attention to Rhaenyra gave away that the question was in no way meant for Viserea.
Viserea stepped away as he approached the two, dismissing herself and trailing away to find a familiar face that she could stand to be around. She approached a table where she saw Harwin Strong standing and silently stood next to him, pretending to be interested in his work at skinning the rabbit he was working on.
“Is Prince Aegon’s nameday not enough to entertain you, Princess?” Harwin asked, a half smile on his face to show his words were purely a joke.
“Not so far, it’s the same political talk that I can hear in the keep, but this time I am nowhere near my dragon in order to escape it.” Viserea answered honestly, finding herself chuckling when Harwin laughed at her response.
Viserea kept her gaze locked on the Lannister lad and Rhaenyra as they spoke, chuckling again at Rhaenyra’s clear distaste for the wine he had offered her.
“I suspect a dragon would make a pretty great escape.” Harwin said, looking between Viserea and the two people that truly held her attention.
“It does, especially one of Tessarion’s size.” Viserea replied, her volume dropping and turning to a warning. The warning wasn’t meant to Harwin, but the Lannister who had now stepped entirely too close to Viserea’s Rhaenyra for her comfort.
“I’ve heard she’s outgrown the dragonpit.” Harwin offered, his voice weary as he continued to watch the scene play out.
“She has. She can now only be kept outside of it. She’s outgrown Caraxes, Meleys, Dreamfyre, and Silverwing. They suspect she is the same size as Vermithor, though we have not seen him since my grandsire’s death so it is hard to say if he has grown more.”
“A mighty dragon for a mighty Hand and Princess.”
Harwin’s sentence caught Viserea off guard and she looked back at him with shock in her face at his open praise of her, and of his acceptance of her future place as Hand of the Queen and therefore Rhaenyra’s claim. It was a refreshing contrast from the distaste people usually held when speaking of their future.
“Thank you. It is a great compliment coming from someone with your accomplishments.” Viserea said genuinely, looking up as she noticed Rhaenyra disappear back into the tent where their family was at.
“Go ahead.” Harwin said, motioning with his head to the tent, “I will not monopolize your time when your future Queen looks as though she may need her Hand.”
“Thank you,” Viserea said, quickly following after her.
She walked into the tent a moment too late, seeing heads turned towards Rhaenyra and Viserys as Rhaenyra argued that she did not wish to get married and Viserys shouted about how he does not even exist above tradition.
Otto seemingly interrupted them and Viserea made her way next to Rhaenyra as he told Viserys of a sighting of a white hart. Viserea nor Viserys noticed as Rhaenyra disappeared from the tent and Viserea was all too late as she stepped outside of the tent and saw Criston Cole following behind her on horseback.
Viserea did not follow, knowing that Rhaenyra would have dragged her along if she had wanted her to come with her. She needed time alone and Viserea could understand that.
As the hunting party gathered, Viserea mounted her horse and found herself beside Harwin again as they made their way through the Kingswood.
“I suppose it was a problem beyond the Hand?” Harwin questioned with his voice low so that only the two of them could be heard.
“There are some problems only a Princess and King are able to handle.” She replied.
“Are these problems perhaps… ones that both of you will face as Princesses?” Harwin asked and Viserea looked over to him.
He didn’t show a thirst for the information that usually came along with gossips. He looked as though he simply wanted to speak to Viserea. She nodded,
“Yes. Neither of us wish to marry, and yet we must. Although, finding someone we could even tolerate marrying is a bit difficult when you’re having to fight through figuring out who wants to marry you and who wants to marry the heir to the Iron Throne and the Hand of the Queen.”
“I suppose that would make marriage a chore rather than a celebration.” He conceded, both of them watching as Viserys spoke to a couple men about the sighting.
“I think I’d like to join you in the hunt, Lord Strong.” Viserea suddenly said, watching as Viserys returned to his horse to leave.
“Are you sure, Princess? It will be night soon.”
“Yes, Lord Strong, I am. It is the King’s wish that we join in on a hunt, he did not say which one or how long the hunt could take me.” Viserea looked over to Harwin, a smirk on her face and Harwin’s laugh soon joining the air of chatter around them.
Viserea rode alone with Harwin through the forest. She paid attention to the tips and tricks he gave her about hunting, finding herself surprisingly interested in it. He, in turn, paid attention to every answer she gave him as he questioned her about her life.
What was growing up in the castle like? Did she and Rhaenyra really mount Syrax and Tessarion at just 7? Did she really have a dream about mounting Tessarion? Does she really sneak out to the city? What was the scariest moment of her life?
“When a blade was held to my neck and I thought I was going to leave Rhaenyra alone.” Viserea answered without a hesitation or second thought… including the second thought that would’ve told her that Harwin didn’t know about any of the details surrounding that story.
“Pardon me, Princess, but what?” Harwin asked, a look of shock and amusement on his face, clearly entertained by her answer.
“One of my trips into the city, I had a blade held to my neck.” Viserea answered, unable to stop herself from trusting Harwin.
“Did they know you were the Princess?” Harwin asked incredulously.
“That was their reasoning.” Viserea said simply, “Although reminding them of what would happen to them once word got back to the person who had hired them seemed to do some good..”
Harwin had a number of questions written on his face, but Viserea answered none of them unless they were voiced.
“How long ago was this?”
“Right before the war of the Stepstones.”
“And you were scared of leaving Rhaenyra?”
“Her claim will already be challenged enough as a woman, her hand being dumb enough to get herself killed by sneaking out of the castle doesn’t help Rhaenyra solidify her claim. I’ve also promised to protect her and give her my honest word about any trials she may face, I can’t do that if I’m dead.” Viserea’s excuse came easily to her. She had repeated it to herself numerous times over in case anyone ever questioned why she was so devoted to Rhaenyra.
Viserea could tell by the look on his face that Harwin did not believe Viserea’s answer was the full truth and that his next words were chosen very carefully,
“The Princess is lucky to have a Hand that shows such loyalty to her before she is even instated as the Queen.” There was a question in his tone, and Viserea knew it was a dangerous game to play, but she chose her reply just as carefully as he had his.
“Yes, she is. It’s a loyalty that’s been noted to possibly cause trouble in my future marriage.”
A look of contemplation crossed Harwin’s face, but Viserea showed no sign of insecurity in her words. She had not openly admitted to being with Rhaenyra, and on the surface, her words revealed only that she was loyal to the Princess above all, which was to be expected of the future Hand. Whatever internal battle he was facing, he must have resolved as he spoke again,
“If your future husband has an issue with your loyalty to the future Queen, then he does not understand what is needed to marry a Princess.”
“And you do?”
“A Princess and Hand to the Queen’s loyalty is not something that should be used against her.”
“You’re correct, but why would you be okay with your wife showing such loyalty when she is supposed to show it to you?” Viserea questioned, no longer paying attention to where in the woods they were walking as her attention was solely on Harwin.
“Because loyalty to the Realm comes above all.”
The sun had set and the moon was high in the sky by the time Viserea and Harwin returned to the clearing. There was no sign of Rhaenyra and Criston’s return and Viserea felt a tug of anxiety in her stomach.
“Ser Criston is perfectly capable of keeping the Princess safe, Princess.” Harwin said, offering a hand to Viserea to help her dismount her horse.
Viserea stepped down, thanking Harwin and her eyes landed on Viserys and Alicent beside the fire, Viserys’ hand on Alicent’s round stomach.
Viserea slept restlessly that night. She hadn’t realized how used to Rhaenyra’s company she had grown until there was a sharp absence of it. They were unable to share a bed every night, but even on the nights when they were in their own chambers, Viserea knew that Rhaenyra was safe. She knew nothing that night.
The unknown mixed with Harwin Strong’s proposal along with his promise to allow Viserea to remain “loyal” to Rhaenyra without question kept Viserea wide awake most of the night. She did not believe Harwin to be one to lie. She knew his father all of her life, knew how he had been raised and what he had been raised to believe. Still, she had trouble trusting such a seemingly perfect proposal.
She wasn’t sure when she was finally able to find sleep, but Viserea awakened suddenly and with a start.
Rhaenyra was safe, covered in blood, but safe and unharmed. Viserea replayed the dream in her mind over and over and finally noticed another detail. Rhaenyra would be visited by the White Hart.
A smile settled on Viserea’s face and was still present when a handmaiden came to wake her, alerting her that the hunting party would be leaving soon, as they had found a hart.
She departed with the hunting party, figuring when she couldn’t find Harwin that he had gone back out the previous night to continue the hunt. She was proven right when they all approached and Harwin was holding a rope used to restrain the hart and giving commands of how to hold it steady.
Viserea couldn’t help the small bubble of laughter that left her lips at Otto’s disappointment of it not being the White Hart spotted the previous day. Her smile was quickly erased at hearing the sounds of the hart in pain when Viserys was unable to kill the animal with one blow.
She found Harwin’s eyes and held contact with them, not being able to bring herself to look as Viserys landed the final blow to put the animal out of its misery.
After the hart had been loaded up to be brought back to the clearing, Harwin made his way on horseback to ride beside Viserea.
“You seem to be in a better mood, Princess.” Harwin noted, “Has the Princess returned?”
Viserea shook her head, her voice quiet to avoid being overheard by the other hunters,
“She will, and she will return with a new fire in her.”
“What has brought on this new fire?” Harwin asked, her voice now as quiet as Viserea’s.
She simply shook her head, fighting back a proud smile. Rhaenyra’s spotting of the White Hart would be her news to tell, if she so chose to.
“Did you sleep well?” Harwin asked, not bothering to prod at Viserea’s lack of an answer.
“I did not, and yet I feel as though I have. It must be the fresh air and celebrations.”
Both of them smiled at each other, knowing the reasoning for why she felt so well despite the lack of sleep was a sarcastic lie. It was, however, a Princess’ answer.
He didn’t question her on if she wished to accept his proposal and Viserea was grateful. It was not just her decision to make.
They entered the clearing and parted ways again. Viserea stood obediently beside the royal table, and when neither Viserys or Otto offered Alicent a seat while she held Aegon, Viserea took the child from Alicent’s grasp and listened to his babbling.
After a while of playing with Aegon and entertaining his happy babbling, silence settled over the camp that even the toddler was able to sense. Viserea lifted her head to see many members of the celebration watching as someone entered the camp. Viserea smirked as Rhaenyra walked past the table, covered in blood with a boar being carried by the horse she had used yesterday. Rhaenyra’s face showed no sign of emotion, but her head was held higher and Viserea could sense the newfound confidence Rhaenyra carried.
The return to Kindslanding was uneventful. Rhaenyra batted away any maesters, insisting she was fine, and once she was clean and they could clearly tell the blood wasn’t hers, they believed her. The two Princesses had no time alone together until late into the evening.
Viserea had, once again, snuck into Rhaenyra’s chamber as soon as Ser Ryden had told Viserea the hallways were clear. She threw herself onto the bed next to Rhaenyra and the two cuddled closer to each other without thought.
“I take it you now feel much less insecure about your claim to the throne?” Viserea questioned.
A smile broke onto Rhaenyra’s face after a look of confusion faded away.
“And I can assume that you had another dream?” Rhaenyra returned.
“I did. I saw you on the top of that cliff when it approached.”
“A sign from the gods that I am the rightful heir.”
“Two signs if you include my dream of it.”
Rhaenyra leaned forward, pressing their lips together in an innocent yet emotional kiss.
“Thank you, my future hand. You always held faith and confidence in me, even when I couldn’t do it myself.” Rhaenyra told Viserea with a voice full of sincerity and emotion.
Viserea felt a flush rise the her cheeks at the look Rhaenyra gave her. It would have been obvious to anyone who spared a glance to the two in that moment the love the two felt for each other.
“You are my cousin, my future Queen, and my heart. You have given me no reason to lack either faith or confidence in you. My loyalty and love is something you will always have,” Viserea told Rhaenyra with the same amount of emotion in her voice, “I also believe there is a third sign the gods have given us that we are on the right path.”
“What is it?” Rhaenyra questioned, her eyebrows furrowing together.
“A proposal from Harwin Strong along with a promise that he understands how strong my loyalty to you is and does not wish to interfere with it.”
Viserea explained everything that had happened after she had left while Rhaenyra listened intently. This proposal was the very thing they needed in order to keep their relationship. All that would be left would be Rhaenyra’s marriage.
The next morning, they were summoned again by the King to the Small Council chambers. When they entered, the room was tense and Ser Addam was accepting a roll of parchment from Viserys who had told him to make sure he delivered it to Daemon himself in Dwarfstone.
Rhaenyra and Viserea looked to each other, though neither of them let the confusion they felt show on their faces. Only once the room had emptied did Rhaenyra voice her confusion,
“Dwarfstone?”
“I’m sending word to Daemon. Aid is sailing to the Stepstones.” Viserys answered, looking at Rhaenyra and Viserea as they approached the chairs next to his own.
“Did he make call for help?” Rhaenyra questioned.
“He would sooner die. But his king does not mean to allow that.”
Viserea sat beside Rhaenyra, both of them quiet now. It was a habit built over the last couple years. Neither of them voiced their opinions much anymore, except to each other after the meetings. Not after the dismissal they faced last time they tried voicing their opinions, ones that, ironically enough, were about the current topic of affairs.
“Do you not think my decision correct?” Viserys asked, his hands resting on the table as he looked between the two women.
“It is no consequence to what we think… as we are often reminded.” Rhaenyra replied, causing Viserys to give an exasperated look to Rhaenyra that he soon gave to Viserea when she, too, remained silent.
“Daemon is thorn enough in my flesh. Will you two insist on taking after him? Must everything be a battle?” Viserys asked, still looking between the two.
Rhaenyra had an ironic smirk on her face as she and Viserea exchanged glances. Viserea kept her face blank.
“If you refer to your attempt to marry me off to Casterly Rock.” Rhaenyra replied bitterly.
The briefest flash of anger crossed Viserea’s features at the mention of the Lannister’s failed marriage proposal, but it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.
Viserys sighed, “I am sorry, Rhaenyra. I was trying to help you. Will you not be helped? Why must every effort on your behalf be resisted, as if to the death?” His voice grew frustrated as he looked down at his daughter.
“Because you mean to replace me, with Alicent Hightower’s son, the boy you always wanted.” Rhaenyra said with a voice full of her own frustration mixed with desperation, “You have him in hands now. Y-You have no further use for me. You might as well peddle me for what you can. A mountain stronghold or a fleet of ships.”
Viserea could hear the way her words shook and the pain that laced through them. The confidence she held after seeing the White Hart could not replace what she so desperately craved, a craving that Viserea knew as well. A father’s love and approval.
Viserys looked confused at Rhaenyra’s words, as if none of this had ever crossed his mind. He looked to Viserea,
“Do you feel the same? Do you feel as though your position as Hand of the Queen is no longer, and that I will peddle you away for political gain, also?”
The sudden attention on her with such a vulnerable question took Viserea by surprise and it took a moment for her to respond,
“Yes, I do.” Viserea said, in a rare moment of vulnerability that she usually kept between her and Rhaenyra.
A part of her wanted to elaborate and say more. To tell Viserys about how having a Lannister propose to Rhaenyra, while she knew that Harwin’s proposal had not been brought to the King first, and that meant he had set no one up for her, had felt like a slap in the face. The moment it had happened, her anger had been due to her possessiveness over Rhaenyra. She knew that Harwin’s proposal was not one Viserys had arranged, and later that night, she had felt as if she wasn’t as important as Rhaenyra. She knew she wasn’t in some ways; she wasn’t the heir, she wasn’t his true daughter, and she was now third in line to inherit the throne and would be fourth once Alicent’s second child was delivered. Still, to arrange a proposal between Rhaenyra and nothing for Viserea only firmly reinstated the belief she held that Viserys never viewed her as his daughter like he said, and that she became an orphan the day Aemma died.
She said none of this as Viserys continued to stare at her, his confusion changing to a look of apology.
“The two of you have misjudged me.” He said, his focus now flitting between the two.
“All know it. Jason Lannister knows it. You said it yourself, the lords of the realm gather like vultures to a carcass, hoping to feast on my bones,” Rhaenyra argued with him.
Her maturity she had gained over the years shown through, as she would have turned this into a screaming match three years prior. Now, she kept her voice calm and spoke firmly.
Viserys sighed again,
“It is true that as royalty we must marry for advantage, to forge alliances and bolster our strength. You have always understood this. I myself was promised to your mother when I was-“
“Ten-and-seven years of age.” Viserea and Rhaenyra said as one.
“We’ve heard that story since we’ve had ears to.” Viserea said, both her and Rhaenyra looking up at Viserys with challenge in their eyes.
“I loved her. She made a man of me. I do not seek to replace you, or you, children. You’ve been much alone these last few years. Alone and angry with only each other’s loneliness and anger to company each other. I will not live forever. I wish to see the both of you contented, happy even.” Viserys’ voice grew in anger and frustration as he spoke to them, but it never rose to a yell, a true sign of the effort he was putting into keeping the conversation from becoming an argument.
“And you think a man will do it?” Rhaenyra challenged.
“A family.”
“I had a family.”
“What would you have me do?!” Viserys asked, his voice continuing to grow in volume and desperation.
“If it was for advantage you would’ve wed Laena Velaryon and Aegon would have never married Adlyn Stark!” Rhaenyra pointed out, knowing that her father could not refute either point.
Viserys’ marriage to Aemma started as a political gain. The North had an army and the Vale was the only army large enough to rival it if the North ever decided to rise against the Crown and become an independent kingdom again. Aegon’s marriage to Adlyn Stark was seen as a slight to the Vale that took months to resolve. They questioned if the Crown didn’t truly see their army as strong enough to stand against the North and if that was why Aegon had married Viserea’s mother, to provide an even better alliance. It took months of fighting, though no bloodshed, for the Vale to believe that Aegon’s marriage to Adlyn hadn’t been a slight. It wasn’t until Adlyn’s body was returned to the North and the Vale saw Aegon honoring Adlyn’s wishes that they believed the marriage had been of love.
Viserys nodded, conceding and admitting Rhaenyra was right,
“That is true enough. You two must marry, strengthen your own claim, shore up your succession, multiply.”
Viserys stepped around the corner of the table as Rhaenyra’s head hung in dread.
“As to your matches, make them yourself. Search him out. Find ones that please the two of you, as I did.”
Both of the girls looked to Viserys with shock written clearly on their faces and then exchanged glances with each other. If they were allowed to choose their own suitors, Viserea would be allowed to marry Harwin. Finding someone to feel the same way Harwin felt would be a challenge for Rhaenyra, but it could be done.
The two agreed that they should tell Viserys of Harwin’s proposal in a couple days. Viserea and Harwin would be seen together throughout the castle multiple times and then they would tell him of Harwin’s proposal. They feared Viserys would become suspicious if Viserea, who had just expressed her distaste and disinterest in marriage, was suddenly agreeing to one with a man that she held no romantic interest in. However, given that Viserys had just stated they could make their own matches, Viserea spoke quickly and abandoned the previous plan,
“I wish to marry Ser Harwin Strong.” Viserea said, looking back to Viserys, “He offered during Aegon’s nameday celebrations, and I wish to accept his proposal.”
Viserys’ face was overcome with shock now at the news. Before he could speak, Viserea continued on, trying to plead her case before it could be rejected,
“He is the heir to Harrenhal, a place that could withstand thousands of men trying to attack it and has the most fertile lands in the Seven Kingdoms, and his father has always been a loyal Master of Laws that the Crown has trusted for years. To unite the Targaryen and Strong houses would make it impossible for us to ever be conquered. Dragons to rule the sky, a castle that a thousand men could never pass, and farmlands to ensure hunger would never be known.”
The silence that stretched after Viserea’s speech seemed to last a lifetime as Viserys took in Viserea’s words.
“I shall think about it. I wish to speak with Lyonel Strong about this before accepting.” Viserys finally answered.
Viserea nodded, just grateful at the moment that she had not been denied.
Rhaenyra and Viserea both stood, beginning to leave the room when Viserys called for them again,
“I did waver, at one time. But I swear to you now, on both of your mothers’ and your father’s memory, neither of you will be supplanted.”
Rhaenyra and Viserea gave him a small nod, looked to each other, and then exited the room.
Waiting on Viserys’ answer over the next few days had both the Princesses on edge.
Harwin had begun treating Viserea as though he was truly courting her and that he had not already proposed to her. Viserea had told him everything on one of their afternoon walks in the gardens. He seemed to believe that Viserys would accept the proposal, while every passing hour without an answer left Viserea believing the opposite.
Rhaenyra was unsure what to think. She wanted to believe that her father had meant his words about allowing them to choose their own suitor, but the lack of response made her just as uneasy as Viserea.
Three days after Viserea had told Viserys she wished to marry Harwin, she and Rhaenyra were just returning from their morning flight when they were greeted by not only Harwin, but a member of the Kingsgaurd who said that Viserys had summoned Viserea and wished for her to be the only one present. Anxiety washed away the good feelings that flying had brought her and she parted ways with Rhaenyra and Harwin.
When she stepped into the council room, she already knew his answer by the look he gave her.
“I will not allow the marriage,” Viserys said.
Viserea was as shocked as she was not. She didn’t get the chance to ask why before Viserys was explaining,
“The loyalty of Harenhaal to the Crown is already guaranteed by our own Master of Laws. Other houses would see it as a slight if father was the Master of Laws and son was betrothed to a Princess and future Hand. We must expand our allies.”
Viserea stayed silent for a couple minutes, allowing the silence to become unsettling and Viserys to grow impatient at her lack of an answer. Shock was replaced by anger and betrayal as she tried thinking of a response that wouldn’t sound childish.
When she did finally speak, the volume of her voice was calm, but her tone was venomous,
“The only true allies I have in this court are Rhaenyra and Tessarion. You claim to see me as a daughter the same as Rhaenyra, yet you plan a proposal for her and reject the proposal I bring forward after claiming the suitor would be my choice. I may hold the title of Princess, but I will always be cast aside and used as a pawn, the same as my uncle. I will be forced into a loveless marriage with someone whom I do not wish to marry and my only hope will be that, once Rhaenyra is Queen, she annuls the marriage as I will never consummate it.”
Viserys opened his mouth to speak, but Viserea continued one, unable to hold back the hurt and anger she had kept bottled up any longer,
“I will not be married off to a man who does not wish to be married to Viserea Targaryen and only wishes to be married to the future Hand of the Queen. I will not become a broodmare whose fate is to wind up slaughtered the way Queen Aemma was because my husband values an heir over his wife,” Viserys’ face turned to one of shock as Viserea revealed she knew the truth of how Aemma passed, but Viserea did not pause to allow him to respond, “I will marry and produce heirs with Harwin Strong or Daemon Targaryen, or I will have my hand forced into marriage and do everything I can to ensure that I never produce an heir so that Rhaenyra will annul my marriage the moment she is crowned Queen.”
As soon as she was done speaking, Viserea turned her back to Viserys and, ignoring his calls for her to stop, left the council room. The look on her face must have been enough to scare people away, because none of the Kingsgaurd or handmaidens around the castle said anything more than a greeting of “Princess” as she made her way to her chambers.
She was not surprised to see Rhaenyra, now out of her riding gear and in one of her dresses, sitting on her bed, and Rhaenyra didn’t seem to be surprised by the news of Viserys’ rejection of the proposal.
Viserea angrily told her everything that had been said, not even realizing that she was now speaking in High Valyrian, a true testament to her anger.
“What do you wish to do, my love?” Rhaenyra asked her after she had finished reciting her conversation.
“I am unsure. I am unsure about what I wish to do or how I feel about everything happening around me. I was not even aware I still viewed Daemon as an option for marriage until I said his name. You are the only thing I am sure of and I refuse to be married off to someone who will not allow us to be together,” Viserea answered, still pacing in front of Rhaenyra.
“I know it is you who is supposed to offer me advice, but might I suggest something?” Rhaenyra asked.
Viserea stopped her pacing and nodded, “Of course, my heart. I always value your advice.”
Rhaenyra stood up and closed the small gap between them, taking both of Viserea’s hands in hers and leaning her forehead against Viserea’s,
“Leave King’s Landing, not forever, but for a while. Show him that you mean your words. You said you would take our uncle’s hand in marriage, perhaps you should pay him a visit. I doubt he will take the aid offered by the King in the war, and I believe my father has underestimated the two of you both. Fly to the Stepstones and show father that you are not a young girl that can be walked all over.”
“That would mean leaving you,” Viserea said, shaking her head to dismiss the idea and Rhaenyra smiled at the small argument.
“I can handle myself for a few weeks. I’ll tell father I wish to tour Westeros to look for a husband and you can stay with Daemon or on Dragonstone or even visit our cousins in Driftmark. We can write to each other and, whenever we are ready, we can return. Perhaps leaving King’s Landing will bring us new opportunities… perhaps it will bring us a way to have the marriage we dream of.”
Viserea’s eyes snapped to Rhaenyra’s, studying her closely to see if she meant her words.
“You believe now to be the time?”
“Yes.”
Viserea studied Rhaenyra’s face and, once seeing that Rhaenyra truly believed now was the time, she nodded.
They both knew they didn’t have much time and that it would only be a matter of minutes before someone came looking for one of them, so they worked quickly. Rhaenyra quickly placed multiple changes of riding gear into a bag while Viserea put on her armor. Armor was made for both of the Princesses in case someone ever managed to attack the castle or they ever had to quickly leave, and Viserea never thought she would be wearing it out of her own free will.
Before Rhaenyra exited Viserea’s chambers to distract anyone in the halls, Viserea pulled her in for an emotional kiss. She removed the earrings from her ears that Daemon had gifted her years ago, leaving the ring still on her hand, and gently placed them in Rhaenyra’s hand. She didn’t know how to explain it, but it felt like giving her the earrings was a way to symbolize the three of them together.
Rhaenyra looked down at the earrings in her hand, then back to Viserea and nodded. She knew what Viserea meant by them and she kissed Viserea once more before turning and slipping out of her chamber doors.
Viserea heard Rhaenyra’s false frightened scream and then the running of people past her door and made a break for it. She left her room with her bag over her shoulder and her helmet tucked under her arm and quickly began wandering through the hidden passages in the castle.
She was helped into a carriage and gave the word to bring her to the dragonpit. Once there, she ignored the questions of any of the guards about why she was in armor and mounted Tessarion. Viserys wouldn’t be surprised that Viserea left on Tessarion, but it would only be minutes before someone alerted him that she was wearing armor.
Tessarion took to the skies the moment she was given the command and Viserea began making her way towards the Stepstones.
Tessarion listened to every command and pull of the harness that Viserea gave as they flew. Being away from King’s Landing brought Viserea a sense of clarity and a new sense of determination. She would do anything she needed to in order to make it so that she and Rhaenyra could be together and prevent either of them from ending up married to someone who would oppose their relationship.

Also team Black actors share the same misconception and misunderstanding that many team black fans do that there is no love or loyalty within Team Green, when most of Rhaenyra’s team abandoned her in the end and they don’t even like and trust one another as it is currently. They aren’t supporting Rhaenyra because they believe in her. Theyre all supporting her because the position they’re in, there is no other choice or they personally want something- Daemon to be King, for his blood to eventually sit the Iron throne. Corlys, very much the same reason. He wants his name attached to a King. Rhaenys while throwing this accusation at Alicent, follows her husband’s lead far more than Alicent followed Viserys. Plus their Granddaughters are Daemon’s daughters and are now betrothed to Rhaenyra’s sons. They weren’t even betrothed because Rhaenyra considered them great candidates for her sons, but because she needs to use their legitimacy to bolster her own sons. She tried it with Helaena. Not to mention, Rhaena has lost her claim to Driftmark with the death of Luke, the deal with Rhaenys/Corlys was so weak and fickle that it broke within 3-4 days. Corlys distrusts and resents Rhaenyra more after Rhaenys dies fighting for her. Rhaenyra eventually calls for the heads of her most innocent and loyal supporters and one by one they abandon her too.
While team Green, despite their dysfunction were loyal to each other to the very end. Everything that Alicent has done since she was a teenager has been out of fear for and for the safety of her children. She is their only parent, their only source of attention, affection and discipline. She tells Aegon that he’s no son of hers, then 48 hours later- as futile as it is, she stands in front of a Dragon to protect him, he tries to pull her back with him and she removes his hand to push him further behind her but then there’s an understanding that they’re going to die together. Aegon doesn’t want it but he takes the throne anyway because he understands that his rulership will be the only thing that protects the people he loves. In the trailer you can see that the murder of Jaehaerys not only destroys Helaena but Alicent too. It also forces Aegon to mature, take more of a leadership role and actually fight to show that he’s “as fearsome as any of them”. Aemond talks shit about Aemond and wishes he was the firstborn son but ultimately he fights for Aegon until his dying day. Alicole are meant to contrast Daemyra with many seeing Daemyra as superior but Daemon has put his hands on Rhaenyra. Grows angry and resentful of her, takes a new little girl as lover, abandons Rhaenyra and doesn’t answer her call to be beside her when she needs him the most. While Criston is killed trying to make his way back to Kingslanding to save Alicent and Helaena. Daeron also dies trying to make his way back to KL to liberate his mother and sister. Otto isn’t shit, but even after being removed as hand, he stays loyal to Aegon. Aegon wanted to build giant statues of his brothers in their memory. He has it written into Law that Alicent and Helaena were the only Queens during the dance era, a law that still stands in Westeros and one Rhaenyra’s sons and other direct descendants didn’t bother to change. He marries his daughter to Aegon III to ensure that she’s Queen after he dies and she is known to history as Queen Jaehaera Targaryen even if it was brief.
If this isn’t love and loyalty, then I don’t know what is. There were no defectors on Team Green.
Even the commoners stayed loyal. Part of the reason they revolt against Rhaenyra and storm the Dragonpit is because of what happened to Helaena’s boys and Helaena herself and because of Brothel Queens even if it’s not clear whether it was a rumor or true. The people still loved Helaena and Alicent. While on Dragonstone, where Rhaenyra ruled for years. A broken and Dragonless (at first) Aegon goes and turns these people against Rhaenyra.
The phrase said by actress Raena about the fact that there is no love in the green family sounds quite comical. Because the character she plays received absolutely no love from, for example, Daemon. Yes, there were some scenes in the cut script where Daemon hugged his daughters after Laena died, but we're looking at the final script and that wasn't there. In the same episode, Raena complains to her mom that Daemon doesn't pay attention to her because she doesn't have a dragon, and in the next episode, Daemon marries Rhaenyra shortly after Laena's funeral. And the children were clearly not happy (and tb stans, please don’t make me think that they were simply frozen then. Their faces really showed a lack of understanding of what was happening). And the actress calls it love? Seriously? Is there love in the black family? Show it to me.
Now I'll be interested to see how Corlys reacts to his wife's death and whether he will tell Rhaenyra that it was her fault. Just wondering. Or will he stick his tongue up his ass again and say nothing? Will support the black team for no reason simply BECAUSE?
(no hate towards the actors) but most of them say real nonsense, their arguments are like “tb are good, tg are evil, there’s no need to choose, our family loves each other and hates them.” This is so funny. Okay, let the tbs kiss their ass, this video was edited for them.

We’re supposed to see Rhaenyra making Laenor leave as an act of love Rhaenyra did to free Laenor from the stifling expectations of the crown but it really is such a cold thing to do and an objectification of Laenor.
He isn’t leaving with Qarl of his own will, he’s forcefully exiled. Also, people act like Qarl was the love of his life. Their relationship is so badly written IMO, Qarl gives Laenor, Rhaenyra and their family these looks that could be seen as jealousy. Theres no indication that he truly cares for Laenor, he looks like he just enjoys being the future consorts lover. The viewers (or at least I did) wonder if he’ll betray them… but the writers just don’t go anywhere with that. It was pointless to even film and let these parts stay in the Final Cut. They are pointless when they sail away together never to be heard from again in the next episode. Maybe they filmed different versions and in one Qarl kills Laenor put of jealousy like in the book- the looks he was giving Laenor and family would go with that version. Otherwise they seem like a storyline that was dropped from the episode.
Furthermore there is no indication that Laenor even loves Qarl. Rhaenyra says she’s allowed Laenor to flaunt around with his loverS in plain sight and Alicent says he’s probably entertaining his squireS. They were an open situationship.
Also If Baby Joffrey’s name is any indication, he’s not even remotely over Joffrey.
Rhaenyra didn’t show Laenor any respect at all. We see it first when she calls Joffrey HER son- that is indication that Laenor probably had no real rights as the Strong boys father. She’s uses Laenor’s name, his position, his family’s navy, his inheritance but she has more of a partnership with Harwin than she does with Laenor. She scolds Laenor constantly while carrying on an open relationship with and close proximity to Harwin in plain sight.
She disrespects Laenor even after he is dead. Once Laenor is dead she has her sons stop wearing his house colors and insignia but she wants the protection of his family name and she wants her non Velaryon son to inherit something that’s not his. TB always point to Alicent’s children wearing Green (- which isn’t even her family’s colors, it’s a color that she claimed for herself) and should be wearing the Targaryen colors because that’s their house but they never talk about how from Daemyra’s wedding on forward none of Rhaenyra’s sons wear Velaryon colors anymore. They’re always dressed in red and black, but their house is supposed to be Velaryon?
An argument can be made for Jace as the heir who will someday take the Targaryen name but Joff and Luke especially should be wearing blue. Luke is meant to become the head of house Velaryon in the future, but he wears house Targaryen colors exclusively. Rhaenyra wants the realm to see the Strong boys as Velaryon, she wants the Velaryons to let her son take their ancestral seat with no protests while she shuns the Velaryons and their symbolism from the moment when Laenor dies.
And is a petty personal opinion lol, but I don’t believe a baby Joffrey named his hatchling “Tyraxes”. She could’ve given him a name to honor his dead father and his Dragon, which Laenore named as a nod to his Velaryon heritage, but as with all of her children’s Dragons and even her own Dragons name, it goes along the lines of Rhaenyra’s lifelong Daemon obsession. Caraxes, Syrax, Vermax, Arax and Tyraxes. Vermax for her heir because I she wanted to link Jacaerys to the image Ang legacy of the greatest Targaryen King, Jaehaerys and his Dragon Vermithor along with the ever present link to hers and Daemon’s dragons. Arrax and Tyraxes are in line with that. Tyraxes is basically Syrax and Caraxes if they had a couple name, with the T substituting the S.
Laenor was always just a tool for Rhaenyra to protect her own self and self interests. She wanted him murdered when Laena’s death freed up Daemon and she- a person who has experienced the grief of losing a close family member- condemned him as “useless” to her and the tool she has used to her benefit for a decade becomes an obstacle to get rid of. Not a friend. Not a husband. Not even a beloved cousin. Not her children’s father. Their relationship was never that understanding, fluffy friendship and partnership that people write it as in their fics, tumblr posts and tweets about how much of a perfect family team black is compared to team Green. Laenor- while having privilege as a man was still in a marriage with a big, big power imbalance. People just turn their blinders on to this because it shatters their view of Team Black as flawless.
thank you so much for the thoughtful ask anon! you've made some interesting points!
i do have to point out that rhaenyra said that she and laenor tried to have children, and laenor apologized to her for not loving the boys enough & said that it's his fault. seems like laenor also didn't really want to be involved with rhaenyra & the kids. so it was def mutual lol
and yeah, while corlys is at fault for insisting on keeping luke as his heir, rhaenyra choosing to dress luke in targ red & black for the petition was ... an interesting choice (as opposed to baela wearing blue <3 )
