so Daisy has this one specific toy mouse that she’s had since we got her and Gus from the shelter and this thing looks like absolute SHIT, it’s lost all its feather bits and the rattly stuff inside has fallen out and it’s basically just a plastic chunk covered with threadbare fabric
and she LOVES it. she carries this nasty hunk of plastic and cloth everywhere. it’s her favorite toy among dozens, no contest. and she keeps losing it under furniture and it breaks her teeny tiny kitten heart and she’ll just sit by it and cry her lungs out until someone (me) comes and finds it for her. anyway i love stupid orange cats
I'm going to have to take my old girl to the vet. I want them to remove her tumour, but she's 2 years and 9 months old, so we'll have to see if they will.
The tumour is huge, it grew so fast. It's not malignant, but it is hurting her. It gets in the way of her movement, and she spends most of her days in her little nest.
Daisy is the last remaining girl from my first ever mischief. She's so special.
The size of the tumour may mean surgery bankrupts me, but I need to help her.
Relatively speaking, rats live short lives and their owner - me - is their entire world. I have to care for her; protect her.
She needs me, and I'll find however many hundreds I'll need for her surgery.
ziggy got 3 vaccinations today & it pains me that i cant hold him w/o hurting him but anyway here are some shots of his perfect face from the car ride to the vet
Miss Daisy was very concerned about where she was. Having surgery in the morning to remove another salivary stone and also do a bit of an explore to see if there is something causing her to continually make them. Vet suspects trauma to the salivary gland as the gland is very dilated so we'll see.
Also starting next step of figuring out wtf is wrong with Daisy. I've not really spoken about it much here but she really drags her hind hooves. To the point where she completely flattens out her toes. She also trips, a lot. As well as this she just does not gain muscle across her back/bum, doesn't matter how much hill work or pole work I do, she has no booty gains.
At the start of her rescue we thought "well her body has no muscle so that's why." Then it was "well shes having such big body changes, that's why." Then (under saddle) it was "well shes still weak and green so that's why." Then it was "well she has ulcers so that's why." Then it was "well her saddle isnt perfect so that's why." Then it was "well try a different farrier maybe that's why." Then it was "well she just isnt respecting your leg and shes lazy! that's why." BUT she does it when she isnt being ridden and is just walking around the paddock. It just feels off to me and I'd rather cross anything physical out before we decide it's just behaviour. I've been trying to work through it since I got her and have slowly been crossing off things one by one. Finally reached the point where all the "easy" things can be crossed off (saddle fit, ulcers, education etc) so time to look at more serious things.
Was waiting to post until it was absolutely certain but Dolly, the dog, is pregernart! Gonna have the puppies possibly around July 4th??? She's gaining weight more and more unlike last time.
red: i would nod to u if i ever encountered u in real life. respect
gray: psspsspss
you know, my mum always used to say that i’m a bit like a cat she used to have. which kinda explains why i’m not immune to the pspspspsps. anyways, thank you!
I know it's not obscure but I really like the idea of Jaskier having a cat named Ophelia
ahh yes i was looking through shakespeare names and that one totally stood out!! he’d probably give her a middle name too so she could have a full name (something like madam ophelia stokrotka pankratz)
Daisy has to go to the vet today and she doesn’t know yet, poor pup. She’s got to go to the puppy dentist, she broke one of her canines somehow. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, but it looks infected so we gotta make sure our pup is healthy and safe.
