omg i know i just rb’d your post but i thought of something else. imagine how much money rui and his family has to have to fund all of his projects??? he’s buying and using robots and fireworks like it’s nothing???? or just crafting them with extremely expensive materials????? his insanity (/aff) has to come at some extreme monetary cost one way or another bc i dont think he’d have enough time in his day to look for scraps on the side of the road and then put them all together for the low low cost of free

Both of the Kamishiros work in STEM so they absolutely know how necessary and equally expensive hyperfixations can be. We make fun of Rui for living in a garage but that's genuinely just because he ran out of fucks to give about where he's going to sleep tonight or if he's going to sleep at all. My boy would be happy sleeping on a rug like dog if it meant he could finish his robot worth 300000000¥ he will use for a silly stage effect and causing Tsukasa to have another crushing near death experience the next day.

He does work with scraps a lot though! He builds random stuff out of Kamiyama junk, even if it malfunctions sometimes.
