I wonder if there is any chance Ryan will turn up now that Albert's Bookshelf is having guest readers?

When those pics were posted last April of them meeting and mentioning their next chapter and a new project, I did think early on that Albert's Bookshelf might have been it, because Danny started it soon after. That didn't happen obviously, but Ryan would be an awesome guest!

I mean personally this doesn’t confirm or deny that Ryan’s never coming back for me. If they want his return to be a surprise they won’t talk about it. I still think with Iain coming back we have a better than average chance of Ryan coming back too.

In some ways I think it’s better that Rob isn’t back yet. I mean I miss him so much and hate that he even left to begin with but I think it makes sense for Aaron to have some time to sort things out before we move onto to things with Rob and Robron again. Like Aaron has been in a bad place and even if Rob had showed up last year I’m not sure if Aaron would have wanted or been ready to deal with that. Of course he still loves and misses him but he’s also angry and hurt by Rob shutting him out too.

For me I think the better way to write Aaron’s story right now would see him repairing his relationships with the Dingles and Chas (not saying any of them are blameless btw). Supporting Chas with her cancer stuff. Then working on getting himself into a better place mentally. Maybe have him go on a date with someone. Then I would have Rob come back. Because in true soap fashion just when Aaron feels like he’s got his feet on solid ground the rug gets pulled from under him. Then he’d have to deal with all the feelings Rob coming home means for him. Or maybe Rob doesn’t come back to the village yet but Aaron finds out he’s out and has to decide if he wants to see him.

I definitely think Ryan will come back to the show at some point in the near future. He knows how big Robron was and how beloved they still are. Plus he loved working with Danny. We just have to be patient.
