Hello! You can call me Robyn if you want, and for my first actual post I wanted to give an explanation for the… interesting, site that Tumblr becomes today. At least with the Danny Phantom fandom (the Phandom if you will). So welcome to Dannypocalyse!
Dannypocalypse is a yearly event celebrating the Danny Phantom! And more so the Phandom in my opinion, as it is essentially a separate entity by now. And in true Phandom fashion, it’s weird (affectionate, with me it’s always the affectionate kind of weird). Not even gonna sugarcoat it. So I am going to do my best to help some wayward new fans or people unfortunate enough to stumble on this event without proper context.
When I was newer to the fandom, I was also missing quite a bit of context for everything. But lucky for me, I am very good at rolling with whatever, so I just accepted weirdness and moved on (seriously, I accepted that Wes Weston was an actual preexisting character for way too long before I really understood).
Essentially Dannypocalyse is just flooding Tumblr especially, with photoshopped photos of the titular character Danny Phantom, and if your wondering where you would find them I’ve got nothing, this is my contribution to Dannypocalyse, (sorry, not my thing), but I am hoping someone more experienced will help.
This event also takes place on the original airing of Danny Phantom, April 3rd!
So no, Tumblr has not been taken over by whatever you thought it was, and yes, it’s essentially an inside joke within a fandom. Fun!
And here are my sources because never let it be said that you shouldn’t cite your sources. (also respect to @narwhalsarefalling, creating an insane annual event out of a joke is peak chaos and power and I have ridiculous levels of respect).
Anyways, that’s all from me folks! Hope this helps make things make a bit more sense! See you next time I feel the need to ramble about my hyper fixations! Bye!

Chapter 3: Targeted
The class was already over. Danny stayed back late to patch a few things up at his desk. His fingers ran through a pile of documents before he shuffled them back in order. He picked up a randomly scattered pen on his desk and began tapping it on the papers as he intended to fill a report of the recent incident on his students who got involved in a fight and a bucket of water that fell on him. No student came in as a witness to the water bucket incident. So, he would have to let go of this case unless he could figure out who the culprit was. As for his two students, Denver and Scott, their parents dropped by to meet the principal. They eventually got sent back home after getting a long lecture. He hoped the two boys had their lessons learned.
He sighed disappointingly, thinking about how kids these days could be so disrespectful to their teachers. Then he recalled his former teacher, Mr. Lancer, and wondered how he managed to put up so much crap from him in his previous high school days. Danny snickered yet felt sorry for his former teacher. He understood that he was once just a reckless teen, trying his best to avoid getting caught while helping others. He had received plenty of pelting back then, yet he had come out victorious each time. Many in Amity Park looked up to him. Some even worshipped him as a pop star idol. Alas, those glorious days were long gone now. He's just a regular teacher, sitting alone in a vacant teachers' room, with dusky light penetrating from a small window near him.
He put down his pen. A curious thought came to his mind. He stretched over to pull out a tablet in his bag, launched the browser, and began searching for recent happenings in this school. The result showed some old videos of school performances and student pranks, a news article about a school break-in from last year, a few students' chat groups, a school discussion board, plenty of social sites, photos of school buildings, and so on.
He briefly clicked a few links, and something caught his eye. It was an eyewitness account of a student who had gotten violently attacked by an unseen force. The article never mentioned anything paranormal but dismissed it as a freak accident. The student was said to have been hospitalized and never returned to school after that. There was no mention of the name of any eyewitness either.
He continued to search for more clues about it online, but the only clue he could find was an anonymous user who had posted a question about the incident a month ago. No one was able to provide a satisfactory answer. Only one user mentioned her uneasy feeling in her gut when loitering in certain areas of the school compound at certain hours.
What triggered the attack, and would it happen again? These were some of the questions that kept Danny in speculative thought.
I wonder if I should investigate..., he hummed to himself and felt the situation described intriguingly familiar. Perhaps I'll stroll around the school compound during my break between classes tomorrow.
He glanced at the time on his tablet. It was time for dinner. He shoved the paper in one of his desk drawers and packed his stuff, ready to leave. As of now, the report could wait for another day.
***
Scott smashed his fist on the bedroom table. His other hand clenched a phone with anger, and he felt as if he was ready to pounce on someone.
"No damn shit! I got grounded for telling them the truth! You and I saw what Denver did!!" Scott yelled through the phone. "Now I can't go out for a whole week!"
"Yeah, we saw it. He's the one who carried a bucket of water up the stairs, " Fred replied. "I wished we could prove to them that he did it, but you know... We don't have any proof."
"Damn it! His teacher even defended him and accused me of provoking the fight!"
"What?... Why? He started the fight first!"
"He did! I don't get why I'm the one getting blamed instead!! I hate Mr. Fenton! I hate the principal!"
"Wait, Mr. Fenton?..." There was a short pause before Fred continued, "Isn't he the freak teacher who recently came to our school to teach about ghosts?"
"What?"
"Haven't you heard? Mr. Fenton's a freak. Everyone in school has been talking about him."
"What do you mean? I only heard that he's the new homeroom teacher in Denver's class. Other than that, I know nothing about him."
"Go check out the school's private online discord, man. It blew up yesterday."
Scott quickly launched his app to view what was happening. Over a thousand chat messages flooded a particular topic about the new teacher.
"What the...?" Scott was surprised as he scrolled up the messages to the top to read.
It all started with the user "redhead boy" who questioned the validity of Danny as a licensed teacher. The chat was about this teacher who taught paranormal subjects. Creepy, disturbing, and lunatic were the words used to describe him. He got painted rather negatively in the chat. The more Scott read, the more absurd the mysteries got that surrounded Danny.
"Is this... actually who Mr. Fenton is?" asked Scott, still feeling gobsmacked from reading the messages.
"Yeah, you saw it, right?"
"This is so freaky, Fred. Why is he allowed in our school?" Scott's frown deepened as he recalled the moment he got lectured alone in the detention room with the teacher. It made him hate Danny even more.
"Money, influence... I don't know. It could be anything."
Scott stared at the phone screen again. It landed on a chat section where some students wanted Danny to quit his job. His resentful mind agreed with them and muttered, "I want him to get reported and get kicked out."
"You serious? There's no way he'll get kicked out. He's authorized to teach here, even if we don't like him. You remember what happened the last time a group of students protested against a teacher who caused a political stir in class?"
"Yeah."
"It's all futile no matter how much they protested. That teacher is still teaching in our school."
"What can we do now? Do we just let the freaks do whatever they want?"
"I got an idea. I'll get the bitches to help you."
"Fred, you know damn well not to get involved with those girls." Scott panicked, "These seniors are not to mess with."
"Yes, but few of them are fans of you, Scott. One of their younger siblings even has a crush on you."
"I'm scared, man."
"Don't you want justice?"
"I do, but..."
"No buts. If you want Mr. Fenton to get kicked out, I'll support you in any way you need. So, man up and trust me!"
"Alright... thanks."
"I'll call you back later after I contact their leader."
The phone hung up. Scott felt very nervous. He wasn't sure if he should allow a group of female gangs in school to get involved in his situation.
***
A small group of female students from the senior class gathered near the school gate to observe the teachers arriving at school. The girls turned their heads to look at Danny. He just happened to walk past the gate.
"That him, alright," whispered one of the girls.
"I can't believe this bastard did our Scotty dirty!" said another.
"How should we get him?"
"Fred wanted him to get kicked out of the school. So now that we know he's the one we should get, let's report him back to our leader."
"Right."
The girls snapped a picture of him and walked back to their class.
