ok so i was in the shower one time and my brain trailed off and i just started imagining what if the Enterprise got a distress signal that has been sent from the 21st century and when they look at it it's just stupid ancient meme shitpostery. like they think they've come across a really weird time-travelling anomaly and they put it on main viewer and they just get colossally rickrolled from 300 years in the past. it hasn't left my head for the past few days so now you must witness my vision

#a LOT of stuff bugged out when i loaded it in btw #theres a lot of stuff missing cuz it couldnt find an album cover and some duplicates #but this is all cuz the metadata on my files is weird. i went through a phase of tweaking it to avoid dealing with other pressing things #which varied from 'changing the artist from Homestuck to whoever actually made the song' to 'splitting the songs from HS vol 1-4 into the O #individual volumes' and so on. and some of them just have wrong data. i gotta go through and fix it soon <- not normal #wait hold on. that means that each time coloUrs and mayhem appears its a SINGLE track. i just KNOW one of them's iron infidel.#theres no hope for me...#dreamlit rambling

Track 4 from the US Promo-only Cave EP that was sent to press and radio in the US and Canada in 1999/early 2000. Coma is listed on the track listing as a "previously unreleased B-side" at this point in time.

#Muse band #so I decided to do this the old fashioned way and 'record' through the radio mixing desk #I don't have a CD slot so a simple drag and drop wouldn't work unfortunately #so I played it from the radio station CD player stacks into the control room mixing board #and just recorded the audio off of that treating at as I would a normal pre-record #but the source's volume fader was too high when Coma kicked in first and so I hurriedly had to fade it down — that recording wasn't great #so in the end I just did it again. When you're recording that way you can't just click play and have it done instantaneously:#it's a record not a plain data transfer... so you play the whole thing and hope there are no disturbances when you're doing so #and if your CD skips? So help you; it's back to the beginning (which happened on Muscle Museum)#muse #but we got it so it's all good!#(Actually the last recording is fucking troubling me; tumblr just doesn't like it. I swear i'm not weirdly fixated with numbers it's just that i need to remind myself how much time it took to some informations to become relevant to the plot and to keep in mind how much i have already read... and it's a thing that annoys me to no end because this story has no need to be this long! Like ace gets introduced in volume 18 (i know because he's on the cover) and he's there for a great total of 2 chapters in which he spend most of his screen time naming people that the reader doesn't know and will not know for at least 8 volumes more (which is equivalent to roughly 80 chapters). After this oda forgets about him for 27 volumes (around 300 chapters) and then he reappears for 2 more chapters and then he disappear again... and the plot related to him is literally the main plot of the manga!!! Can you see why i keep pointing out the volumes number and how many volumes it takes to go from the set up to the pay off

#the length of op makes me angry every time i thin about it #it's been almost a year since i began to read it and i'm not even halfway through even if i read more than 50 volumes and 500 chapters #and most of what i read is completely usless and it could have been put in a data book or just cut out of the story entirely #iris reads un pezzo
