On conflict theory

Basically, the first serious attempt at creating a scientific field of archaeology was done by 19th century Germans, and they looked around and dug some stuff up and concluded that the prehistoric world looked like the world of Conan the Barbarian: lots of “population replacement,” which is a euphemism for genocide and/or systematic slavery and mass rape. This 19th century German theory then became popular with some 20th century Germans who... uh... made the whole thing fall out of fashion by trying to put it into practice. After those 20th century Germans were squashed, any ideas they were even tangentially associated with them became very unfashionable, and so there was a scientific revolution in archaeology! I'm sure this was just crazy timing, and actually everybody rationally sat down and reexamined the evidence and came to the conclusion that the disgraced theory was wrong (lol, lmao). Whatever the case, the new view was that the prehistoric world was incredibly peaceful, and everybody was peacefully trading with one another, and this thing where sometimes in a geological stratum one kind of house totally disappears and is replaced by a different kind of house is just that everybody decided at once that the other kind of house was cooler. The high-water mark of this revisionist paradigm even had people saying that the Vikings were mostly peaceful traders who sailed around respecting the non-aggression principle. And then people started sequencing ancient DNA and...it turns out the bad old 19th century Germans were correct about pretty much everything. The genetic record is one of whole peoples frequently disappearing or, even more commonly, all of the men disappearing and other men carrying off the dead men's female relatives. There are some exceptions to this, but by and large the old theory wins.

Julianna Margulies, David Schwimmer and Debra Messing are among over 260 actors and other industry figures to sign an open letter demanding the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences include Jews in its representation and inclusion standards.

The letter, published Tuesday by the JITC Hollywood Bureau for Jewish Representation and shared exclusively by TheWrap, said that “an inclusion effort that excludes Jews is steeped in antisemitism and misunderstands it.”

HOW FUCKING DARE THEY?! These actors are ALL where they are, because of their heritage and connections. Make no mistake. Anyone with a brain can look at Hollywood and see who is on top.

Most if not all of the Academy board are Jewish.

The Writers Guild aka WGA apparently has so many Jewish members, they were able to bully SAGAFTRA into publicly announced support for Israel.

Not ONLY are many, many actors today, Jewish, we have seen some performers (Think Argentina President and Whoopi Goldberg etc) convert, as though there were some hidden rule that you have to do so. Or, like Emma Stone, hide their Jewish heritage. This doesn't even count the different mob outfits at work.

In addition, this year's Oscars had a definite Jewish theme. Just to give you a taste:

1. Oppenheimer, Jewish guy blows up 1000s of innocents. pre-WWII

2. Killers of The Flower Moon, felt gratuitous as hell. pre-WWII (Read the Talmud)

3. Another Holocaust film, Zone of Interest

4. The Gender Ideology Cult, based on Hebrew Paganism; current state of Hollywood. Weimer, pre-WWII

5. Barbie, based on the Bild 'Lilli' doll from a German magazine. LILITH is the name of a demon from the Hebrew Bible. This also explains the Sam Smith publicity stunt, where he claimed HIS song, represented Barbie. All of the Pink, the color assigned Gay men in WWII. Neat little sneak in.

6. Yorgos Lanthimos, known for Incest and underage Sex films, did Frankenstein. If you're a follower, you'll recall why that's important.

Finally, Mizz Margulies pulled an Antisemitic stunt, to help Israel, just recently AND I found out she did the voice of the alien on that horrible Doctor Who 60th Anniversay which pushed Transgenderism at kids and was Anti-Male. These people dangerous. Something is very wrong, right now.

Hell no we are not letting this OFMD finale distract from that THIS LETTER.

Had a signature from Taika Waititi. I understand the sensitivity here this issue with Taika being Jewish(and that’s not my place as someone that’s Not Jewish or in those regions to condemn him on that perspective’s behalf) but this letter is directly bastardizing the situation.

Now, when there is a major production from a major figure in this platform that did this, is when we can make the most impact. Remember our values, even when those values involve a show that is strengthening the LGBTQ community.

Because this letter tore down the strength of the movement in support of Gaza. There are going to be so many people that saw this letter and take it completely uncritically, unchallenged.

Standing up for our values means sacrificing our interests, holding accountable the things we enjoy.

And also. I don’t want to see ANYONE. Being fucking antisemitic or racist towards Taika here. That is never appropriate and absolutely inexcusable behavior. You should he ashamed if you think that’s okay even after Taika’s actions.

Dear President Biden, We are heartened by Friday's release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today's release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and

Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity. But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people,

including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death.

They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400

Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded. Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group's founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized

by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza. We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this

moment, freedom for the hostages. We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Critical response Entertainment Weekly placed "Whitecaps" #3 on their list of the 10 greatest The Sopranos episodes;[2] TIME placed it at #4.[3] Awards James Gandolfini won his third Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in this episode. Gandolfini also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his work in the fourth season as well. Edie Falco won her third Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in this episode. For her role as Carmela, she also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series: Drama, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, and was the first female winner of the TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Drama, a feat that would later be accomplished by Julianna Margulies as well for The Good Wife in 2010. Mitchell Burgess, David Chase, and Robin Green won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for their work on this episode. i would recommend historians like jeanine basinger and kevin brownlow for silent cinema and early hollywood. i personally liked jeanine's silent stars, and she actually just put out an oral history on hollywood co-written with sam wasson. the last great american picture show is a good resource for new hollywood... i haven't read it yet but hear the same thing about easy riders, raging bulls. david thomson's film dictionary is a BRICK but it's a good resource. like honestly, read basinger and brownlow and cari beauchamp, read donald bogle and jacqueline stewart's scholarship on black cinema, read from reverance to rape by molly haskell, read ivone margulies's book on chantal akerman.... READ BURT LANCASTER: AN AMERICAN LIFE. but also like. read books on your favorite actors and filmmakers, then read more. but also keep in mind that some older biographies are very poorly researched and not really factually accurate (the norman mailer biography on marilyn monroe comes to mind lol)
