MERTHUR - December Rush

Three years ago, Arthur Pendragon was a forensic scientist specializing in facial reconstruction for the FBI until a vicious serial killer kidnapped and nearly killed him. He never fully recovers and has to give up his job. Meanwhile, his wife, Gwen, files for divorce. Then, his sister Emilia dies in a car accident along with her husband, and he becomes the legal guardian of their young son Isaac. To escape the nightmare his life has become, he and Isaac move to a small town near Whistler, where Arthur earns a living doing odd jobs.

Just before Christmas, Morgause, a good friend of Arthur's, asks him to house-sit. She expects a visitor but forgets to mention that Merlin Emrys is handsome, charming, and extraordinary because he is blind. Arthur has no idea what he gets into as he and Merlin lock onto one another from their first meeting like heat-seeking missiles. However, Arthur senses Merlin is hiding something. And Merlin isn't sure how long he can keep up the charade, as falling in love was never part of the plan.

sobrang nakakapagod. ngayon na lang ako ulit nakapunta ng manila. namili kami ng mga pangregalo for christmas. aalis kasi kami sa sabado with fam and doon kami magcecelebrate ng christmas. di ko pa nakumpleto yung list ko haha! ang hirap naman kasi hanapan ng regalo ni mama. laging napupuna yung napipili kong tingin ko maganda na pero para sa kanya hindi. hahaha hay nako mama, sana ma-appreciate mo na lang kung ano man ang mabibigay ko sa'yo wahahaha! sana wag mo akong i-judge ha! well, wala ka namang choice. 😛

grabe, yun lang talaga yung gusto ko sa pasko and birthday ko, im praying sana maibigay ni lord pero kung hindi man, i know my reason Siya.

gusto ko lang namang mafeel yung christmas vibes this year after ng lahat ng stress ko sa mga nangyari. gusto ko lang maging masaya. sana naman. :(

Excerpt: ... Arthur was stunned when he walked into the anteroom and found himself face to face with two fully clothed boys, ready to go to the playground.

"Wow, Isaac, you did a great job," Arthur praised him. The little one grinned and tugged on Merlin's pants.

Merlin put his finger to his mouth and said, "Shh, don't tell."

Isaac mimicked him, making Arthur laugh, who took his winter jacket off the hook, and they left.

It was a beautiful winter day; the sun was shining, albeit cold, and the fallen snow sparkled like someone had sprinkled diamonds on it. Curious glances followed them as they walked down the street. Arthur was the eye-catcher in his red winter jacket. Together with Merlin, who wore a dark turtleneck and a beige winter jacket with faded blue jeans stretching over his muscular thighs down his long legs and black boots that completed the look, they caught even more attention. Arthur wondered what color Merlin's eyes were since he hadn't taken off his sunglasses the whole time. If it hadn't been for his white cane, no one would have guessed he was blind.

"Arthur, would you describe to me what you see?" asked Merlin.

At first, Arthur hardly knew what to say, but then the words just started to flow, "To your right, across the street, is Miss Bishop's grocery store, a real institution. It's as old as she is. We've got 1950 over there, and I love its flair."

we dropped off orders earlier today. i guess we're already past the peak season as there are fewer orders than the last week. the weather was gloomy and i just learned few hours ago that there's going to be a local thunderstorm this weekend. i just hate the wet pavements of the road, but i always liked rainy weather (mostly when im at home) - i also love how damp air smells like after the rain.

we just bought snacks on the way home. i am currently listening to wake up with jim and saab while resting after a long day. i just don't feel like listening to music nowadays even though i had tons of playlists, i mostly want to consume recent podcast episodes that's uploaded every week.

oh and by the way, i can't believe it was almost christmas, as well as my birthday. i am excited next week for the chrismas rush buying gifts because we just had too little time left for it. well to be honest, i usually dreaded this time of the year because there are a lot of people wherever you go, but you know, i cannot deny that it is also my most awaited time of the year.

this year, i just felt too exhausted that i feel like sleeping all the time. i just hope i'd regain some of my energy to spend this christmas with our relatives.

"AND finally, at last, the story of Ross Halfin, the plate and the message 'Barton You Lose'. Remember the October 16 Sounds front cover? Well, the outrageously belated story behind it it as follows...

As you may know, Rush have a total phobia of cameras and do not allow pictures of themselves to be taken anywhere but onstage. Ross Halfin, however, was determined to hustle an offstage session, and this is how he did it...

Halfin being the persistent (and highly ingenious) bastard that he is, decided to accomplish this feat by telling Geddy the following pack of lies:

Halfin claimed that Sounds Editor Geoff Barton had bet him the princely sum of 50 pounds that he would be unable to snap any offstage pictures of Rush. Consequently Geddy, anxious to see Barton out of pocket, relaxed the 'no pix' rule for a moment and posed for around half a dozen photos, holding a plate emblazoned with the words 'Barton You Lose' (the bet, geddit?).

All this for a wager that never really existed. Halfin got his way, and no money ever exchanged hands. Didn't I say he was an ingenious bastard?"

UNEXPECTED HIATUS ! i'm not going anywhere, i swear !!!! but work ended up PILING UP so much for the month of may that i don't think i could feasibly be online until hopefully ( i'm desperately praying ) june 😭 i'm a bit sad because i really miss writing here but i'm also a bit excited because my confidence in my career has really gone up ! i understand if there are partners who wish to break mutuals for the flakiness state of this blog as of late, like, fr no offence will be taken ! although i am sooo determined to try and survive thru may and have a more peaceful month afterwards. for now, the date is undetermined BUT I WANT TO BE BACK BY JUNE. thank u so much for those who have extended their patience; i haven't forgotten any of you, i'm just way too tired by the weekends to crawl to my laptop and be online. pls forgive me 🧎
