i've been wondering about that big board ontop of their mirror for who knows how long now and they finally blessed me with a readable frame, i have the first piece of the puzzle. the big text reads "HOLOGRAMS CAN HAVE HEART ATTACKS TOO!" of course he would put up something like that. i'm assuming the pictures on top are some examples of preventative measures one can take, or maybe they're what to do in the event of an emergency. i'd know if only i'd get a better close-up.
then there are those pink slips Arnie puts up, there are multiple, but the one in his bunk reads, and i'm filling in everything i can't see here "YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A DRY SENSE OF HUMOUR TO LIVE HERE BUT IT CERTANLY HELPS!" Rimmer and his weid positive reminders, they must keep him going on some level.
also the letters, are they from his mother? from someone else? doesn't matter much, because the difference between Lister's bunk having a bunch of colourful photographs of a bunch of people with him and Rimmer's bunk only having two worn letters from an unknown sender really shows well the differences in their characters and their approach to other people (i love that kindof set dressing)
btw they did not change any of Rimmer's stuff for Paraller Universe. all of her certificates and 'achievements' (those newspaper clipping on the wall) still read Arnold for some reason. oh what could be the canon explanation for this? this changes the Arlene lore for sure
bet they didn't count on someone obsessing over the set 30 years after this aired did they!?!? could they own up and tell me why Arlene has the swimming certificate of some rando named Arnold

seriously, Marvel. please consider a little series of comics that focus solely on the mundane side of Spider-Man's rogues' lives. like focusing solely on those who were and are a part of the Sinister Six cuz those are popular favorites.
let us see more about them beyond being villains and plotting and scheming to rob banks/tech facilities or take down Spider-Man. let's see more of their more mundane side.
I'd do ANYTHING for a comic about Mysterio and his every day life outside the villain persona. I already know a Doc Ock focused one would do MAD Numbers from his fanbase.
no lie, Electro fans would go haywire if there was a comic focused on Max Dillon and his less energetic lifestyle.
I ADORE world building and I think we could use some more for the villains. their environments can tell a lot more about them as a character and I think we really could use more of that in general within Marvel as a whole. there's a lot of focus on the characters and their relationships, but it's limited to purely dialogue. a telling and never really showing. and what it tells doesn't do too much.
slap some more DEPTH and INTRIGUE into these characters!!
What are their daily morning routines?? When they're NOT plotting and scheming and having to secretly meet up with other bad guys to make top secret exchanges to further their devious plans. Like.. HOW do they prefer to live and decorate their living spaces?? Show and tell us more about their likes and dislikes!!! DO they have other talents? Did they have any other career ideas they would have enjoyed besides the ones they ended up with? ANYTHING more would be nice!!
I'm just a sucker for world building and character developments beyond the base narrative limitations.

i know that everyone enjoyed otto laying it on aegon, and i may i be struck down right the fuck now for giving criston cole even one single inch of benefit of the doubt, because he deserves none and i cannot fucking stand him and his hypocrisy, BUT
i genuinely do wonder how different Criston's orders for Arryk are to Otto's own suggestion in season one [ep 9], to the lord commander. Otto said it himself, didnt he: 'go to dragonstone, be quick and be clean'. [the idea of a clean assassination is even possible when the poeple you'd have to kill are rhaenyra, jace, luke, joffrey, baby aegon and viserys - and probably and most importantly daemon - the oxymoron of that. the utter silence on that in that council ANYWAY]. How would that have gone? how is that different from what Criston told Arryk?
Is it because the tension is so much higher now, therefore the job harder? because honestly, having the lord commander go to dragonstone, be welcomed there by the woman he has guarded all his life since she was a girl, and then kill her and her entire family - idk man, that feels like a bigger betrayal than Arryk assassinating Rhaenyra, when Arryk has clearly declared his loyalty to Aegon and everyone knows where he stands. I mean, both are horrid, im not arguing for either having any merit. But why is Otto so adamant that the plan is stupid when not even a week ago it was HIS OWN PLAN? I mean, it IS a stupid plan, lets be real; because AT BEST it would only be Rhaenyra that Arryk would be able to kill and the war doesn't end with her and everyone knows it - is This the reason Otto calls it stupid?
Because i kinda do think that [even if he were 100% sincere in his displeasure and disappointment with the plan] he was kinda using the occasion to lay into Aegon and just, push his buttons to soften him up for guidance and manipulation. like, you did this stupid thing without consulting me, you need me, how dare you exclude me cant you see how much you need me. Making him feel small - disrespecting him as he always has - to make then Aegon want his approval? idk man
im not even gonna touch on the audacious audacity of this old man to go around and slander his grandson, who he has plotting to put on the throne ALL HIS LIFE, yet not once has he ever bothered to educate him to rule. suddenly not knowing how to rule is soly aegon's fault. hilarious. Anyway-

If you don’t mind, I’d love to hear your headcanons for the Ice Queen X Tyrant King AU as well🥹🫶💕 thank youuu <3
More Ice Queen/Tyrant King headcanons! Let's go!!!
Little Heiress lives in Korea again. She will hate Gil and Thena both until the day she dies. But she has resigned herself to the fact that going after either of them again will result in her death.
Druig is a hacker, like one of the crazy impossible ones in the movies. He taps into surveillance like it's nothing, owns a bunch of networks and servers. He doesn't show up to many meetings in person, but he and Makkari get together when they can.
Speaking of the Lightning Thief herself, she has many talents, but she chooses to stay contracted as a petty thief. She thinks it's more fun and it offers her more variety and the freedom to travel. She has no permanent place, usually renting in small slots of time. When she's in town, she stays with Druig.
Makkari loves hanging out with Thena and Sersi. None of them had all that normal a childhood, so she likes having girl friends to hang out with. Sometimes she breaks into their homes when she wants to have a sleepover. She doesn't do it to Thena anymore, ever since she broke in and they were getting busy in the elevator again.
Kingo really played it down at the time, but he was the one to give Gil Thena's building passcode. He told him that she was miserable, moping around like she'd gotten her heart broken. His instruction to Gil was "fix it".
Imo comes to America a lot more often now, entirely to visit them. And by them, it's mostly Thena. She'll show up and Thena will drop all her business for the day to visit with her. Imo says she's a good daughter. Then Gil will get home, find out they've spent all day together, having tea or chilling or shopping, and he pouts about being left out.
Gil once asks Thena if he's losing his edge. When she asks what he means he pats his belly and says maybe he should quit drinking beer or something. She says she doesn't mind any shape he's in, so long as that shape is alive (and she says she's not romantic).
He does go to the gym though, that is on days when he's not beating people up and disposing of bodies, since rest days are important. It's mostly because, ever since that French guy, he's been even more aware than usual just how beautiful and desired his fiance is.
He's asked Thena once or twice what she wants to do for the wedding. She says that she thought he would have an idea. They haven't gotten very far past that, since they're already quite married in spirit anyway.
They both have their ring tattoos on the left hand, while the physical rings are on the right. Thena takes hers off frequently, whether it's because she doesn't want to get blood on it or because she doesn't want whomever she's meeting with to know she has a weakness like that. Gil never takes his off.
Thena's favourite foods are tteokbokki, carbonara and traditional Russian solyanka, all of which Gil knows how to make deliciously. She grew up with a lot of Russian and European cuisine of course, and even some central Asian dishes thanks to her various nannies and caretakers. But once Gil started cooking Korean food for her, she hasn't looked back.
Imo shows her some things when she visits, but Thena has confessed multiple times with embarrassment that she's a terrible cook. Imo says that's fine so long as she has other things she's good at, like running the business.
Imo is surprisingly violent. She's run the family business for a long time--the business Gil's father married into, she likes to remind him. Imo has enforced so much in her day that she used to get called the Red Queen. Thena only idolizes her even more for it.
Although it's rare, if Thena and Gil argue over the course of a few days, she'll threaten to call Imo. Things resolve themselves quickly.
Gil likes bringing home little treats. Thena always says she doesn't need them or she's not hungry after dinner or something. They're always gone by the next time he looks in the fridge.
Gil loves calling Thena little petnames like Ice, and Sweetness, and Princess, and she even lets him call her baby here and there. But he makes sure to take time to lean in close and whisper Thena at just the right times.
They still haven't discussed the wedding plans, but if Gil were to ask her to go through with a Korean wedding, she would still say yes.
Imo calls the office sometimes and Thena isn't in, but she likes talking to Kingo--thinks he's funny. Thena tells her not to taunt her personal assistant, but Imo is like an orca who enjoys playing with her food before the kill.
