I can't get the process videos of this to upload, but I'm reasonably happy with how this turned out! It's bound in deerhide leather that my grandfather hunted before I was born, which says something about how quickly I work through my leather stash.

and today I'm here to be a bit of a shill because the program I use (Rebelle, the niche art program that mimics real life pigments in a digital workspace) is getting a HUGE UPGRADE this month. Rebelle 7 features such incredibly hype new features as:

-> Actually including a gradient tool (lmao yeah I know right? but no more manual watercolor gradient smearing for me) -> METALLIC COLORS????? WITH SHINE AND EVERYTHING??? -> Vector support! Money things!!!

The dollars are called stags and are made of deerhide marked with special ink. They come in a lot of denominations up to 100. The coins are little triangles that only come in 1 stag denominations. These are used for small purchases or giving your kids spending money.

Deerhide is used because Optera is a country that has. A lot. Of deer and its a very stable food source. They only farm a few animals and lots of hearty grains and veggies. They use deer leather for food and for money!
