Since time immemorial, the Rito have been deeply connected to the winds and all they have to offer — in a way that surpasses bare, profound appreciation. For them, it goes beyond physical attachment ( of which is still greatly significant! ) and is indelibly tied to their spiritual and cultural identities.
Seen more as a relationship — where the winds are the source of all nourishments and fulfilments, and they are simply partakers of those boons — this concept is rooted and condensed in a word that doesn't have a concrete, established meaning so much as a contextual one that defines many things all at once: Windlines.
When speaking of the Windlines, one could be referring to the material winds and their boundless touch; or the nebulous "voice" of the winds as perceived by those especially responsive to their movements and paths; or the closely related but separate consciousness of the winds that carries, blesses, curses, or otherwise meaningfully interacts with all beings; and so on. Not quite an entity, almost bordering on a kind of philosophy with how hugely it shapes their way of thought — but believed in all the same!
Knowledge of the Windlines, and hence, this layered relationship with the winds, has been reliably passed down through generations with little to no external nor internal distortion. How an individual develops that knowledge — as well as with it — may differ ( e.g. very few may take it to unprecedented heights, bending the Windlines to their will and becoming masters among patrons, whilst others may be content with simple, competent flight ), but the core foundation is pretty much universal.
Being estranged from the Windlines in any capacity can be unbearable for any Rito. Peaks Among the Ripples saw the worst of this impact during the upheaval detailed in their Songs of the Stormwind Ark: with the Windlines so absent, population health and wellbeing waned, even if nothing was bodily amiss. Essentially, Windlines and what they embody are incredibly important! An integral part of a Rito individual and whole collective!

IWTV S2 Musings - Tentative Timeline (Pt3a: 1945 - 1950) - ❗REVISIONS❗
These revisions took a minute, y'all, apologies.
HUGE thanks to @usuallydeepalpaca-blog and @alleyskywalker for working with me to make a (hopefully) more precise tentative timeline for S2 -- Pt 1 (1940 - 1948ish: x x) and Pt2 (1949: x x). There's so much unreliable narration from ALL these MCs, so things are very much STILL up in the air wrt chronology, that will likely only be resolved in S3 🙏 (AMC y'all got some explaining to do, cuz this ish REALLY don't make sense!!! 😩). So until then, this is still just a rough guestimate of when events took place in S2, cuz IDFK. 🤦
1945
Mostly I brightened up the dark AF pics I used on all the nodes
Added the rest of the quote from Lou & Claudia's convo to "follow the blackouts," cuz I hate when people complain that S2 wasn't as "glamorous" as S1; when IRL post-war Paris was broke as a joke--the lights flickering on & off in Claudeleine & Loumand's scenes in Ep2 were cuz of continent-wide blackouts during & post-WWII. You can't demand that AMC be historically accurate, then complain about the grim reality of IRL history during & after THE biggest war in Europe.
Adjusted the date range of Lou & Claudia meeting the coven from Nov, to a grace period of Nov/Dec 1945 (IF they arrived 5 months earlier in July, not June)
Adjusted the date range of the Chateau hunt with the coven from mid-Dec, to a grace period of Dec 1945/Jan 1946 (IF they arrived 5 months earlier in July, not June; plus 1 month of Claudia watching their performances)
[EDIT 4/17/2025] I realized I never mentioned this 2x2 quote confirming Louis was in Paris in 1945:
"A theater called Theatre Des Vampires. A company that had been in existence for 150 years! 77 years and it still feels like a slight."
1795 + 150 = 1945; 2022 - 77 = 1945. Just noticed I never put that in.
1946
Small but significant changes:
Added a node of Claudia confirming her hazing period took "weeks"
Bumped Satre up to Spring 1946, before Claudia's initiation--the grace period I gave that scene was too vague/generous
June 29, 1949 - the night Claudia invites Lou to her initiation ceremony
July 6, 1949 - I reckon Claudia's coven initiation was July 6, cuz "at the end of this week" would be Sunday, June 30, so Claudia could've just said "tomorrow" if that's what she meant. So the only other night she could be referring to was July 6th.
Thus, Baby LouLou definitely started performing in the summer (approx. July), not the spring
1947
I split up 1947 - 1949, to isolate everything that happened pre-Roget's interrogation.
I can't count, and miscalculated 500 nights = 16 months instead of 18 months, which effed up the whole thing, omfg I'm stupid! 🤦
So Claudia's 500th performance is December 1947, rather than Fall; sorry y'all.
Added a node for Lou vs art dealer Alois (as in Alois Meidl????)
Added nodes for Lou's convo w/ Dreamstat & Claudeleine's convo, that confirm it's been "two years" that they've been in Paris--so this is definitely 1945 → 1947; esp. if they only met the coven & Madz around Nov/Dec 1945.
Added a node specifically for Santiago's coup, splitting it from Loumand's park bench convo, just for clarity's sake.
1948
Everything from Roget down to Sam's Guido/Godot script has been moved to 1948.
Added a node where Roget mentions the Theatre being closed "a fortnight ago"
Added a node with the coven reading Claudia's diaries b/t the pages of Sam's Guido/Godot script
Added a node for the "God's Light" quote, which is part of the Guido/Godot script
Added a node screenapping Sam's Guido script
Added a node of Madz's SA. I have no idea where in the year this happens, even going by the clothes--that could be anywhere from Spring - Fall. 🤷
Added a node of Armand mentioning Sam's "new pages" for Guido/Godot
1949 - 1950
THIS is where ish gets hella messy
A bunch of Roland-Garros nodes, cuz those are muy importante
July: more of Armand's quote about Loumand's library date
Sept: Armand's quote where he says/lies(?) that the same night Madz was Turned, the coven gave him a "rewrite" of the Trial script
Changed the dates of Louis in the vault from Nov/Dec to Oct/Nov, bumping it up a month, esp. since the Trial HAS to take place in September (IF the Roland-Garros match was Sept 17-18)
Added Lou's Rage & Madness planning (approx 2-3 nights long)
Added the Great Fire of 1949 frame from the Talamasca files
Added the Jan 9, 1950 article about the Theatre burned down
@usuallydeepalpaca-blog pointed out that Lestat probably wasn't referring to THE French Championships, but a different France vs Australia match at Roland-Garros on September 17-18, 1949.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(DANG, I hope the Australians watched their necks in 1949! 💀 They effing won the mens' doubles in that match! 😅)
Jokes aside though, AMC has A LOT of explaining to do here. I'd assumed Les was referring to the 1950 French Championships:
Tumblr media
But IF the September 17-18th 1949 games are what Les was talking about, that means he arrived around Sept 5th, and the Trial happened barely two weeks later!? 😰
Tumblr media
Which means the rehearsal took barely no time at all; and most importantly: Claudeleine got ZERO TIME to wander. 😩💔
1950
This is a BIG problem, AMC:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does anyone know what interview this was, where Jacob(?) said Claudeleine were together for months+?
I couldn't find it, but I DID find an interview with Roxane that said basically the same thing, which WORRIES ME.
Tumblr media
Cuz "quite a time stretch" just DOES NOT WORK, if September 5, 1949 - January 9, 1950 is THE LIMIT for everything that happens from Madeleine's turning to Madeleine's death.
Which tells me that if anything, AMC's props department effed up not once, but TWICE, and actually had no effing idea when the Theatre burned down. 😅
Regardless, I added the nodes to account for al these shenanigans.
TL;DR: I no longer have any frikkin idea what's going on with the S2 timeline, esp. after Ep6. 😔
I love this show, it's excellent, 100/10. But laaaaawwwwwwd, I'm confused; and TIRED.

Hey there, check out this pinned post first!
Thanks for visiting Roleplay Better, where I believe that you can fucking do better! That kind of language, however, is why it is important for you to read this post before proceeding.
This blog and its posts are meant for an adult RPing audience; be over legal, adult age in the USA, 18+. Do not interact by submitting, asking, reblogging, commenting, or liking unless you are over eighteen years of age. By interacting with RPB or me, Vespertine, you are assumed to be following this rule. If you are breaking this rule, you will be blocked.
I have that rule because this blog can/will/does address topics inappropriate for a younger audience. Those can include, but are not limited to:
not safe for work - violence, injury, sexual language, smut, substance use
“dark topics” and themes like violence, unhealthy relationships, mental illness, trauma, graphic injury, dubious consent, substance use, and so forth addressed realistically
foul, sexual, and otherwise “Adult” language
unpopular opinions and approaches about writing, RP, fandoms
“negativity” since literally anything can be, and my whole point here isn’t about holding back; it is likely that, at some point, in some post or another, a shoe will fit you-you need to be mature enough to handle that without taking it as a personal attack on you
images and links that may contain things inappropriate for a younger audience
this blog is founded upon the idea that fiction has reflections in reality, but that fiction does not utterly equate to reality. You should write with realism, your characters should be people in their own right, and you should absolutely be addressing many popular topics responsibly, which is to say realistically. I do not support or otherwise condone purity culture, so while realism is a big deal here, fiction = reality arguments are a no
seriously, you have no idea how fucking salty I am! I try to be fair, reasonable, and mellow with everyone, but it can and does come out.
This blog tags for common, major triggers, but it is not for those easily triggered or particularly sensitive. By proceeding, you take responsibility for yourself...like a mature adult. I expect you to utilize blacklist, unfollow, and block. Tag format is simple, it is literally just the word in most cases, with “cw” and “tw” added to particularly common things. Example, a post containing a breakdown of forms of dubcon will be tagged #dubcon #dubious consent. If that was specifically of a sexual nature, since tumblr is unfriendly to using Not Safe For Work now, I will be using #notsafe for sexual topics. In the event that this needs to change, it will be posted about, the previous tag left intact, so that you may update your blacklist.
You are always welcome to send me an ask or private message requesting a particular trigger be tagged for you. I try to check blogs I see following, especially if I follow back, so that I can tag what you require. However, I’m a person, I’m an ND, ill, busy person though, I do make mistakes!
If you find yourself desirous of telling me to tag in a hateful way, don’t. You will not be responded to with an apology and kindness. Do not be rude, it’s uncalled for when informing someone of a problem or making a request.
I will run the blog largely on a queue, and will not be following many people back. This is not personal! I just like to try to provide content at many different times, have a life elsewhere, and I am so happy that you love your fandom, but it might not be something I’ve enough interest in to have on my dash.
Don’t tumblr message me. Use the inbox or submit.
Due to recent events, I am changing this rule. It’s hard for me to receive messages unexpectedly, and I hate to imply that I’ll be able to get to these quicker because it isn’t the truth. Quicker, better responses come from the inbox. However, there have been too many incidents lately in which people needed to speak privately and had to make that a request. If you’re having a problem and need to vent, request sensitive advice, etc.? It’s alright, go ahead and drop me a PM, y’all. I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able. Please, do not be angry with me if I respond to inbox things or my queue is running! You’re important to me, I just might not have the requisite social cognition and energy you deserve at that time.
Aggressive inbox messages will be responded to in kind. I don’t care if you are on anon or not, if you haven’t an ounce of polite communication skills, I won’t have them either. This is not a “we don’t publish anon hate” blog.
I highly encourage asks and submissions on any and all RP topics, and it’s perfectly alright to be salty as fuck in them, you can totally vent here, but don’t take out your frustration on me or be demanding of me. I am always happy to help with information, advice, or just a response to your venting-it’s important to know someone is listening. However, it may take me a few days to a week to get to you, be patient.
If you are going to vent, leave out usernames. This isn’t a callout or burnbook blog. It’s fine to state characters and fandoms, but if this becomes a problem, it’ll have to change. I don’t want this becoming a salt blog for one or two fandoms I very likely can’t even stand. Practice the fine art of alluding to things, its good experience for your writing! Besides, RPC problems are RPC problems, I promise. It might feel like it’s just your fandom, but there is something relatable in all corners.
I will not overly police comments. Keep the slurs and shit out of it, though. If there is an issue going on pertaining to a serious instance of hate speech, or behavior I, personally, deem as too inappropriate and/or immature to be taking place on my post, I will step in. Otherwise, I expect everyone to be adults in the comments and reblogs too. If you want to argue with each other, that’s your business. If you want to argue with me, I’m not sorry in advance.
Addition to the above: this is not a blog in which it will be tolerated that commentators or those submitting with the URLS are targeted for callouts, shaming, or other instances of bullying. No, I cannot make those people stop bothering you by blocking them, but the least I can do is address that by shutting down their access to this blog and it’s posts by blocking on the URLs I have for them. And I will. Fuck that “we can’t be responsible for” shit. It’s my blog, it’s my content I’m putting out there, I’m not going to just ignore shit like what went down over on COAR, thanks. Not. Cool.
This is definitely not a place for:
people who think giving muses labels, including top/bottom “dynamics,” is a good substitute for character traits, personality, and development
those with no reading comprehension skills
folks dependent upon aesthetics and aesthetics-based purple prose as filler for actual writing
anti-original character/just wants to fuck a FC or canon character club, get the fuck out immediately
y’all who see writing as an obstacle to getting down to action, be that smut, drama, or fight scenes...it’s literally a writing hobby
politics, any manner of phobe or ism, violent/non-inclusive feminists, purity/rpc/fandom/content police of any manner, and exactly any manner of racism, sexism, or religious intolerance - I give not a shit if it’s popular to hate the straights, for example, I neither believe in nor tolerate reactionary classifying of any group as blanket-statement evil
people who are going to tack onto my posts shit like, “it’s okay, OP, you can say x character.” Trust me, if I were talking about one character, I fucking would name drop them, don’t bring me into your fandom drama, I doubt I know or want to know who that anime guy is who looks like 12 other anime guys to me.
About Vespertine
You can call me that, Vespertine. I’d rather you didn’t go with Vesper, but as it is unfortunately so likely to happen, I won’t feed you to the dogs over it either. RPB Mun is also acceptable.
I’m alright with either she/her or he/him, they/them is also fine. Apparently, that was big enough clue-in for the poor reading comp crowd, so while I feel it is not of importance, I’m nonbinary, yes.
Late 30′s, chronically ill but still working adult with neurodivergence. I’m both busy and Busy, and always sick. This limits my brain power and ability to be here. I have an active RP blog that I won’t be sharing to keep responsible distance. That is always going to be my priority, it is my primary hobby.
Please, don’t tumblr message me totally random things if we don’t have that kind of relationship! I’m too ill and busy, and it really fucks my nerves to have a bunch of messages/have to suddenly interact socially with people. Don’t do it. Use my inbox, use the submit, comment on posts. I cannot do random messages of “hey” and so forth.
I only do written RP, don’t expect me to understand much of anything from tabletop. I’ve RPed for the last 23 years consistently, on every platform from AOL chats to forums to messengers and here. I also don’t do RP in discord, so I’m sorry, but I can’t advise you much on anything with a word count, except to stop it for serious RP. Other than that, I promise you that I’ve seen the trends, the drama, the fandoms. I can give a lot of advice and perspective on a wide range of topics, situations, and characters! When I don’t have a clue at all, I’ll try to do enough research to give you an answer.
Do I come off as a horrible, strict asshole? I do! I’m not going to say that I am just a shy bean who is more scared of you than you are me. I’m not. I’m honestly feral, but have common decency, compassion, and sense. All of which are lacking in the general RPC. So, if you can inbox/common/otherwise interact with anyone else on this site, you can totally handle me!
Honesty and openness are policies.
And in the spirit of that, I repeat; you can fucking do better, tumblr RPC!

education headcanons: a guide*
a lot of these headcanons aren’t set in stone due to the fact i’m just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about some muse’s specific education path, but i thought it’d be helpful to lay out some basics i’ve never explicitly expressed on this blog for the sake of reference and access!
Tumblr media
after completing high school, alison enrolled in an arts program at a local university but only completed one full semester before withdrawing due to unforeseen financial difficulties. ever since, alison has not returned to school formally, though she continues to hone in her sewing, artistic, and designing skills via workshops offered to the public taught by some professionals in the fields she’s interested in. as such, her learning is a bit unstructured and scattered, but it’s more manageable for her and her current position in her career. likewise, the veterans of her workplace take alison under their wing and show her a lot about the fashion industry, and alison’s aunt teaches alison about some of the business aspects of running a company. you could say, then, that alison’s schooling is very immersive. if asked whether she’ll ever return to school in the future, assuming she can afford it, alison is very ambivalent. she’s more likely to pursue an official degree if she sees a real need to, though with how things are going, she doesn’t seem to have that need.
Tumblr media
leah graduated high school with high honors and ranked within the top ten of her class. she currently attends a large university and is pursing a bachelor’s of science in psychology. because of the type of degree she is pursing, leah has to take a wide range of required general education classes, even if they seem to not quite align with her psychology major. she’s canonically only in her second year of school, and after graduation, she intends to go on to get a master’s in educational psychology ( which is different from school psychology btw! ) so that she can work with children in the school system in the future.
in some timelines i’ve plotted with mutuals, leah actually continues with her psychology studies and goes on to get a phd and also remains very involved in academia such that she actually is a university professor, so this is an alternate route for leah’s future too!! it’s more likely that leah would be heavily involved in research rather than providing services to the public if she takes on this route, but a person’s path is rarely straightforward so it’s possible she does a bit of everything tbh.
Tumblr media
emile knew from the get-go that he’d stick with community college right after high school. he told a lot of people that he was going to follow his father’s footsteps and be a lawyer, but deep down, he wasn’t really sure if that was something he’d actually enjoy. still, emile remains on that path for a bit, completing the necessary associate’s degree that will allow him to grasp the basics to be a legal assistant, and that’s kind of where he’s at right now in terms of career and education. he knows he wants to go back to school, and his he’s learning towards a history degree, but the question is always what do i even do with that, so you can imagine his reservation. also — money.
Tumblr media
grace is still very young, so her path is very flexible, but i definitely headcanon that she completes high school as either valedictorian or salutatorian ( assuming everything goes well for her because, you know, colleges don’t like academic dishonesty ), gets into a really prestigious university, and just knocks it out of the ball park with her time in university both academic and extra-curricular wise. i’m not really sure what sort of degree grace would pursue, but i could see her studying music and trying her hand at composing. it’s also likely that grace studies economics or business since i like to imagine that after university, or maybe even during it, she gets involved in a start up company of some sort or just really involved in business in general. grace is out to be a ceo so watch out!
Tumblr media
i dont talk about cedric’s education a lot, but i actually do have a solid headcanon that he’s a business major. his university days were like kind of what you’d imagine for a rich white boy — he sailed through his classes and partied a lot along he way, and of course, because of who he was, he was practically untouchable, unfalliable, even though we all know that’s not true. but yeah, in canon, i guess you could say cedric has been out of school for a few years now and is definitely doing a lot of business owning seeing as how, while a bartender, he still co-owns the bar he works in and is trying to start his own business as well.
Tumblr media
idk what the fuck nate does honestly, but i imagine it’s not a lot of schooling. if he did go to university, it’s because cedric was paying for it, or, it’s that the two boys lived together while cedric was in university, so nate got access to the social side of uni without actually doing the uni work. i kind of doubt that nate formally attended university after high school, and it’s probably more likely that he went to community college for a few classes to get by, but seeing as how he has terrible work ethic, it’s likely he doesn’t complete a formal degree. still, i imagine nate can really focus in non-traditional classroom setting, and by that, i mean like, online classes. so you can imagine how much he actually thrives when taking online classes for subjects he’s actually interested in, so i feel like he’d be a fan of skillshare and sites like that that make knowledge more accessible even if it is a subscription. that’s probably how nate manages to develop his craft despite being a lazy bum at home honestly.
Tumblr media
my boi aito actually hated school when he was in high school surprisingly enough. it was during high school did he develop a big “fuck you” attitude to figures of authority in his school, but he mellowed out a lot in university once he got to experience a bit more freedom in classes and pathways. aito did well in high school though, following a similar path as leah and graduating at the top of his class, which confused a lot of people because he wasn’t even in class for the most part. but anyway, in university, aito is an engineering student, but he also took a lot of classes in computer science and astronomy for the fun of it.
he does go on to get a master’s, and similar to leah, he does have a potential route where he gets really involved in academia and becomes a professor who teaches physics and astronomy classes while conduction his own research. dare i say aito would ever combine these two subjects and deepen his study in astrophysics instead of engineering if he ever had the chance to??? potentially!! honestly, aito is such a flexible muse when it comes to academics because i swear, he just wants to learn everything. the sky’s the limit with him, tbh.

Hiiiii! Love the content on here. It’s one of my favorite BNHA blogs! If you have time, could you please write about Overhaul taking his SO on a date for the first time? Maybe Kai over does it and takes them to a really high end restaurant but his SO is barely middle class, under dresses, and very intimidated by how expensive and fancy everything is. Feeling like they don’t belong there.
Tumblr media
You nervously patted your clothing just to prevent any possible dust to have sticked on it, Overhaul would probably be really angry if he found that, especially on something he gave it to you specific for this occasion...
It took you longer than expected to realize the young leader of the Shie Hassaikai had founf some interesting on you; actually it was rather understandable since he doesn't express anything with that face of nothing more than boreddom or irritation.
But in the other hand, bunch of people had noticed how the man looked at you with complete different eyes than normal... a certain admiration or even care expressed on the usual cold golden eyes of his.
Although... there was sometimes he was a bit... exaggerate on his way of expressing his "care".
But you couldn't help but slowly fall for this gorgeous man.
Now, you were here waiting for Overhaul to make his appearance, but when you saw him your jaw almost hitted the floor.
You knew that he wasn't a simple man at all, but you definitely didn't expect Overhaul to appear in a freaking expensive as hell black car, driven by someone else, getting out from the passenger seat.
We started well...
You already knew how he was gorgeous and magnificent but... holy shit.
Overhaul was wearing instead of his usual social black dress shirt for a white one with a black tie and to finish his open black tuxedo. His hair perfectly combed whith the usual black mask of his; it keeps away the filth don't judge him.
He was beautiful and all, but was he going to a weeding or some kind of social event instead of you guys date?
"I see that you followed my instructions." He aproached you, looking up and down at your figurine, surprisingly seeming pleased at your sign.
"Uh.. yeah. Although it isn't a bit too much for a date?" You asked with a nervous smile as he furrowed slightly his eyebrows.
"Nonsense. It's not only a perfect combination with your body and appearance in general but it's sociable acceptable. Not much, but not less either."
Was... was the first commentary a compliment?
You giggled at his actions in both disbelief and adoration at the man in front of you, while he only scoffed in irritation; hidding a certain warmth feeling in his chest and both of his cheeks at hearing that angelic laugh of yours.
"Are you going to just stand there and keeps laughing like a idiot? I will have you know I made reservations and I certainly despise being late for something." He said monotonously while walking towards the car.
"W-Wait what was that part again?" You stopped giggling at hearing that word, but your oh so sweet partner just ignored you as he oppened the door of the car.
"Come." A simple comand, but you noticed the hint of softness on his voice and couldn't help but smile.
A rather peculiar gentleman was he, but you definitely wasn't complaining the slightest.
As soon as you entered the car he close it and got on the other side pretty quickly and comanded the driver to take you two to where he planned.
~
You should have know...
A high class restaurant... indicated with five stars just recently.
You mentally facepalmed and instantly your cheeks went a crinson red color the moment Overhaul opened the damn car's door for you to step out.
Your chest tighten as you felt that the air in your lungs weren't suddenly sufficient at seing the huge amoint of high class people entering on that... luxurious place.
"I hope you don't bother these sick people around us. I tried to make it secluded only for us but sadly the man didn't take my offer... seriously." He mumbled while walking besides you, maintaining a certain comfortable distance.
"Wait. You can't do that with a restaurant!" You whisper yelled with wide open eyes as your mouth opened in surprise at seing the hints of a smirk behind that black mask of his even if his eyes stayed the same as always.
"Try to stop someone from the yakusa dearest. But I decided to simply let it slide... this time. I didn't want it to miss this opportunity to take you on this place."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, so he was that serious about this, was he..?
You gulped that anxiety and nervousness down your throat in hopes it could go away... it was just a restaurant right? Just a place, nothing to worry abo-
Holy shit, how big is that chandelier on the ceiling? And there was a bunch of people playing the violin and piano on the other side of the room...
Why...?
You felt all your previous feelings coming back again, almost suffocating you at the point it was harf even to breath.
"Are you alright? You seem a little out of breath there..." Your companiom asked numbly while you yelped quietly.
"J-Just-! A little surprised at this place... it's... only high standards come in here apparently." You nervously pointed out before deadpanning at seing a couple of bunch of snobs passing by you guys front with their noses lifted up.
... gross.
He seemed to take that as a compliment as he simply hummed in agreement as he took a look at his front, where a bunch of people were sitting and eating on their neatly clean tables.
"The first time I came in here I was also shocked."
"Really? When was that, if you mind me asking?" He thought deeply for a second before he snapped his gloved fingers at remembering.
"When I was about 9 or 10 year old." You deadpanned at that.
He visited his place when he was a CHILD?! Why was he in here in the first place?! It was YOUR FIRST TIME coming to a place like this and you were already a young adult!
"Here. The waiter will lead us to our specific place." You gulped again, feeling even more nervous when walking through the bunch of rich snobs, who seemed to look you down... like they already knew.
You didn't belong in here. What the hell were you doing in here in the first place?
You need to get out... as much as it angered that you couldn't do one sacrifice for him, you needed to get out of there...
Before you could even turn away the voice of Overhaul invaded your ears again.
"Here. Just passing through this window." You eyed suspiciously before sighing in defeat... following him to the balcony of that place.
You gasped in surprise at seing a perfectly tidy table for two with even a candle holder on the middle.
Rather impressive.
The waiter dismissed himself after receiving a death glare from Overhaul, soon after the man himself pushed a chair and extended his palm at it, only looking at you expectantly.
"What a true gentleman you are!" You giggled quietly before taking a seat and waiting for him to take his as well, not missing the hearted scoff of his.
"I thought chivalry was dead now in these days." He shrugged before leaning his back a bit forward with a disinterested look but his voice was just as soft and sweet as honey.
"Well. I not a bragging man, but I certainly can say that I'm full of surprises."
You giggled again, feeling it more at ease but soon frowning slightest at seing both the menu of that place and the people on inside, who you swear were stealing glances.
"... something is wrong." The voice of his interrupted your thought before you yelped and looked at him.
"What on earth is bothering you?" For the first time you saw his expression turning into one of worry even if his words sounded a bit harsh "Didn't you found this place appealing?"
"I-Is not that!" You waved your hands in front of your body in exasperation "Is j-just..." you sighed, embarrassed of even mentioning this.
"Just..?" He lifted one of his eyebrows up.
"...Overhaul. This place is amazing and I am very grateful and honored that you invited me for a date in here." You montioned with your hand at the glorious room inside before lowering your palm with a frow on your face. "But... I am not... used to this. I'm a middle class ro low after all, so when I saw all of this I kinda panicked... and this must sound ridiculous even, but I swear I saw people inside sending judgments glares at me... like they already know that I don't belong in here, which is honestly true." You sadly mumbled the last part, catching his firm and serious gaze on you shortly after your rambling.
"It is ridiculous." He sighed while you deadpanned.
Well... at least he was honest. A bit bold and rude, but honest.
"First, its the most logical that they were looking at a man wearing a black surgeon face nask rather than yourself; second, they should keep their eyes to themselves and mind their own bussines at the first place." He sighed while closing his eyes, slightly annoyed.
You blinked at hearing his words, that actually made sense...
"Like myself." He opened his beautiful golden eyes, staring directly at yours "I keep my eyes on what only interests me or what is mine."
You blushed crinson red at his words, Overhaul wasn't a man that was good with words, but sometimes he did caught you off of guard... majority of the times.
He chuckled lowly as he looked at the color of your face changing by some words of his... fascinated.
"That blush of yours never gets old." He mused "Next time, just warn me instead of just staying in silent. Next date of ours a more simple then? I don't like crowded places anyway." He monotonously spoked, shortly half smilling at your relieved expression.
"Sounds wonderful. Although let's enjoy ourselves, since you mister, went a bit too far with your money with me... again." He scoffed at your laughing before you brought your hand to cover your mouth.
"Oh gosh did you think that they hear?" You whisper to him worriedly, receiving a eyebrow of his lifted up as response.
"If they did or not, it doesn't matter. Just focus on me for the night, just like what I'm doing."
"... you're going to leave me a mess in this place I swear." You whined while giggling as you covered your face.
He smirked at that. This was going to be way better than expected.
~
Bonus:
"Score for the boss!" Mimic exclaimed on the top of Chrono's head as he adjusted his binoculars.
"Be more quiet before he senses that we're here!" Whisper yelled Hari as he tried to steal a glance at the far balcony, failing miserably due to the distance.
Suddenly Mimic yelped and Chrono from the scare accidentally let both fall on the ground.
"What the fuck Irinaka?!"
"He saw us. We're fucked."
The ground started to tremble and both man cursed already knowing what was coming.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
Tumblr media
My muse is:   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO. ( Within the community my muse is? Fairly popular? But overall in the fandom a lot of people dislike him. )
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. ( Apart from giving two surviving characters scars, he has no real impact on the story ).
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
How strictly do you follow canon?  — I’d say pretty closely, in the sense that I don’t erase any parts of his canon, and I try to analyze and ‘ make sense ‘ of the different things he does in canon. There are some parts of his canon that have been re-written though. Like his relationship with Grimmjow, thanks to their chemistry. Oh, yeah, and Nnoitra is also alive in my canon. But other than that I try to keep him as canon as possible.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  Oh gosh where to start... Nnoitra is a very deep character. He is typically disliked by those who only see his exterior, but there is so much more to him. He is brave beyond compare. He is not the typical ‘ pretty-boy-sassy-villain ‘. He is harsh, rude, violent, sadistic and carries a heavy sadness inside him. He has strong believes and won’t back down from anything. Ever. He is someone who doesn’t hold back his true self and while he can be very challenging to interact with - isn’t that part of what’s fun with interactions? That they’re not all supposed to be easy. And, of course, one of my favorite parts about my Nnoitra is the big modern!au story that I have created for him, where he has a completely different life, while still maintaining what I hope is a legit translation of his canon personality into a human!au. Another thing that makes my Nnoitra interesting - in my opinion - is that I’m in it with him for the long run. I’m here to build long-lasting relationships of all types. I’m here to write stories for him with others.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  Nnoitra is very difficult to get along with for most muses. He’s rude and sexist and also a bigot. These things really put people off, but I’m not going to water down my muse for anyone or anything. In canon verse he is very set on killing more or less anyone who approaches him, which can mean that a lot of interactions turn into fight-threads which some people aren’t interested in writing. He is also rather anti-social so.. Yeah, not the easiest to interact with for sure.
What inspired you to rp your muse?  — I originally found my inspiration for him when I started drawing him way back in the days. I randomly drew him and got hooked on how inspiring he was to draw. I never experienced an art-block ever again. After over a year, after I had gotten into rping ( I was rping different characters ), I eventually wanted to try my hand at writing Nnoitra, and it’s been the best decision ever. Now I’m stuck with him forever ahahaha.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  Nnoitra IS my inspiration. He is my muse. Definition of ‘ muse ‘:  a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist. I can’t imagine not writing him. I never have a problem with inspiration when it comes to writing him, since writing him gives me inspiration.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO.
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO. ( The inner monologue that I always write is filled with headcanons, but I hardly ever post ‘ headcanon posts ‘, because I don’t like writing meta - and I don’t like speaking for Nnoitra. )
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO.
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO.
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO.
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO.
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  Yes and no. If I ASK for criticism, then I’m happy to receive any kind of criticism. However, if I’m not prepared for it, and get random criticism out of the blue, then eh, I’m not really into that.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  Oh yes! I love headcanon questions! I always answer them IC, unless the question is specifically aimed at me, like: “toby what do you think about...”. I feel really flattered when people show interest in Nnoitra!
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Not really. I don’t like discussing meta / headcanons about Nnoitra. If people disagree with my headcanons, they are free to make their own Nnoitra blog and do their thing.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  People have different opinions and that’s fine. I would prefer that if people who disagrees with my portrayal just unfollow me. I take my portrayal of Nnoitra very seriously and put a lot of effort into it. However, if I ASK for criticism, then I am completely open for it and would like to hear people’s disagreements on my portrayal. In general though, I don’t like discussing it. I don’t like discussing meta or anything like that, because I’m not open to changing my portrayal of him.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  If a mod hates Nnoitra, I don’t mind that at all. I don’t mind if they post hate-content about him either, as long as they tag it, so that I don’t have to see it. I don’t like seeing Nnoitra bashed in public. For example, I block blogs that post hate on him to the #nnoitra gilga tags on here. I just think it’s unnecessary and I don’t want to see it. My followers and mutuals are free to hate Nnoitra, and it can often be interesting to have your muse interact with someone who hates them / they hate, so I totally understand. Nnoitra is not a very likeable character after all, and people are free to hate him.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  Absolutely! I am not a native speaker, so I am sure I make a lot more grammatical errors than I’m aware of. If people want to point them out to me, I see that as a favor to me.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  Yes, I think so. I’m chill even if I am very slow at answering messages. I always try to be kind and understanding and I hope people don’t feel intimidated by me even if I play a very mean character.
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

MY MUSE IS.   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless
is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO.
is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.

were they relevant to the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
how’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?
I consider everything presented in the aligned canon as my Starscream’s canon backstory, but his current story diverges after the end of TFP and does not follow RiD. I made up stuff to fill in the gaps and tried to make it fit in well. Where there are contradictions in the Aligned canon (as happens frequently), I consider the novels Exodus and Exiles to be the most canon, followed by TFP, followed by the comics and video games. The Covenant of Primus or any other materials published after the beginning of season 3 of TFP are a secondary canon that I only pick and choose from, because they retconned and threw out the original story bible and setup, an action I didn’t care for.
SELL YOUR MUSE! (aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutual.)
Starscream is a walking roller coaster of emotions. His contradictions make him unpredictable, as he tries to navigate a world which would prefer to write him off as at best a cautionary tale, but whose future he still believes he has a right to shape. He craves relevance and recognition, but he’ll settle for infamy if pushed away too much. He misses the mech he was before he was broken, but seldom admits it to himself, and doesn’t want anyone else to know he’s struggling. Even though he’s trying to be on his best behavior, he still believes scheming and murder are perfectly viable solutions to most problems.
NOW THE OPPOSITE! (list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)
Starscream is a paranoid and self-centered individual, so it can be hard to find reasons he’d engage with other muses. He’s a stubborn old butthead, is what I’m saying.
The fandom (and show writers) often reduce him to a one-note, weak character who needs others to step in for him, or whose motivations are simply power grabs. I don’t think he’s like that at all. His power grabs are intricate and his relationship with the idea of power (and powerlessness) is as tragic as it is fascinating.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?
Never in the history of fiction has a great character been so screwed over and tossed aside as TFP Starscream. The end of Predacons Rising left wounds for me that fanfic couldn’t heal, so I decided to give him a future worthy of such an interesting character. I wanted to keep him around, basically, and see where he could go if given a chance.
WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?
I have a ton of ideas for him and endless “what if” scenarios to explore. He’s so much fun and never grows boring. I like that he can be serious or silly, sympathetic or a total asshole. He has boundless potential but he’s his own worst enemy. It kind of makes him hard to write at times, but there’s never any lack of ideas. Usually there’s too many and I take forever to settle on what he should do.
SOME MORE PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN.
do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO.
do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO.
do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO.
do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO.
are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO.
are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO.
are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO / DEPENDS
DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?
Yes but I prefer it to be relevant to my specific portrayal. Like there are times I know I’ve made him bend out of character to make a thread move along, so that would be something I’d take criticism on, so I could figure out ways to do that more smoothly. I don’t take criticism like “you’d get more interaction if you RPed ships”, which I thankfully haven’t seen in ages. People seem to have accepted my aro-ace birb and his eternal bachelorhood.
DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?
I crave them with every fiber of my being.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?
Not really. Everyone has different headcanons, so I’d be shocked if we all agreed. That’s kinda the point of headcanons. That being said, it is sometimes fun to discuss and debate different ones.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?
Like a champ. I don’t mind if someone disagrees, though I would wonder why they felt a need to bring it up. There’s a bunch of Starscream blogs out there, so hopefully they’d be able to find one that suits their fancy.
IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?
It’s funny, but I actually take hate of me and my writing waaaayyyy less personally than I take hate toward actual canon TFP Starscream. I hate the way people talk about him and dismiss him and tear him down. Like. It genuinely upsets me. Leave my bird son alone! When people direct hate towards me I kinda drink anon tears tbh. I don’t mind it, usually, and I can be as snarky as my muse.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?
I’d be fine with that. I’m good at grammar but not so good at typing, so if my brain goes faster than my fingers and I screw up, please let me know so I can fix it! In fact as I typed this very answer I skipped no fewer than three entire words, and it’s not that long of an answer!
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?
Most of the time. I know it probably doesn’t seem like it if you read my rather lengthy and specific rules, but I do give people the benefit of a doubt and I’m pretty friendly (but shy and terrible at remembering to return messages)

Tumblr media
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK (I think he’s considered cute rather than hot? Luffy is cute, he’s handsome but cute!)
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Are they underrated? YES / NO / IDK
Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL (depends on who you ask)
How strictly do you follow canon?
I’m trying my best to follow canon and Luffy’s way of thinking, sometimes lack of thereof. He’s got this nice bubbly energy about him that I really vibe with so coming up with silly things isn’t that hard. Though I must say I’m also a sucker for serious Luffy, which he can be when needed. He’s still a fresh muse so I do look forward to see how I’ll develop him further and see what might change!
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.
Do you need a ray of sunshine in your life? A friend who would never let you down and is willing to risk his life for you? A friend that keeps his promises and will always lend a hand? If you answered with ‘yes’ on one or all these questions, look no more! Monkey D. Luffy is your man! This beautiful, pure boy who will one day become the King of the Pirates is here to brighten up your day with his gigantic innocent smile and wonderful laugh! You’re up for a real adventure with Luffy! He will take you places, you’ll make many wonderful memories and meet lots of new people, explore lands you’ve never seen before and create everlasting bonds you’ve never imagined possible! Whether you want to or not, the moment he proclaims you as his nakama, your fate is sealed :)
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).
Tumblr media
Pardon? Luffy is interesting no matter how you look at it. He may be irritating to your muse with constant need to get into trouble, or perhaps to the mun his overpoweredness may come as irritating, which is valid. I will be the first to say that I call bullshit on many of Luffy’s victories but at the same time, what do we all expect from a shonen protagonist? So I don’t think he’s uninteresting, perhaps he might just come out as triggering. There are things about Luffy that trigger me, but I never found him uninteresting? Am I answering this wrong?
What inspired you to rp your muse?
Impulse. A few friends recommended taking a new muse to balance my mean bean Vergo. When thinking of who I should take, Luffy barged on doors of my humble home, broke them down and said “From today on, we’re nakama!” I never had a say in this, really.
What keeps your inspiration going?
People! I’ve met many wonderful people here on tumblr (I knew many from my Vergo blog) but met many new ones for the first time! I love throwing ideas and plotting, or just letting the muses drive, but honestly Luffy always has some ideas in his brain to make everything interesting.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you do your character justice? YES / NO
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO (on some later date I will!)
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO (again I will!)
Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO (Vergo doesn’t let me)
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO (always, no one can knock my confidence down)
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?
I do, but only when it’s genuine and given with good intentions. Obviously, I don’t know what mun and muse think of my portrayal unless they tell me: is there something that might trigger them, is there something they think is over the top? I am interested in such things and other opinions, but at the end of the day it’s my portrayal so I call the shots :P
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?
Absolutely! It’s always nice to explore questions I might not think of or just see what interests people in my portrayal. It’s fun and gives me chance to dive deeper into the character which is always good.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?
I mean yes and no? I won’t change my headcanon but I’m always interested to know why specifically they disagree. Discussing is fun if it’s done civilly, but at the end it’s my headcanon and we’re all allowed to have our own opinions.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?
I don’t pay mind to it? We all take muses to portray them how we want to, not how anyone else wants us to portray them. If someone is unhappy with my portrayal they’re free to unfollow, no hard feelings and no offence taken from my side.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?
It’s all cool. Not everyone is going to love every character, and while Luffy is popular, there are some things that make his character that may irritate someone. Sometimes we end up loving a specific character thanks to the mun rping them, so if someone dislikes or hates Luffy maybe I can change their view on him? Sounds kinda arrogant but it did happen with Vergo so yolo! If they still hate him that’s cool, we are all entitled to our opinions.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?
Naturally! English is not my first language, it’s my third as a matter of fact, so mistakes may happen! Even though most times I notice the mistake myself as well and end up cursing because I haven’t seen it in time XD
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?
I think I am! I’m really open to talking with people, plotting, joking, throwing some hcs and ideas around or just chatting about anything really! I’m an extrovert so I love meeting new folks and getting to know them and their characters. I’m a joker at heart and those who have talked to me or know me better can confirm that lol
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

YES / NO. in his own head maybe
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. lol what fandom does jo have a fandom here???
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. ???
Are they underrated?  YES / NO. / IDK. jo thinks he’s underrated does that count??
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
How strictly do you follow canon?  — Jo is the master of his own story so yeah. I’m following my own canon and whatever I come up with to a T ( unless some good suggestions in writer’s workshops or even here come up! ). He is the main character of my limited series pilot that I hope to write soon called The Insomnia Trap.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  Jonathan has many sides to him. The child of mixed Latinx parents and the youngest of three kids, he has had a relatively normal life ( save for early childhood, when he killed his mother by “accident” - should’ve mentioned that! ) and his very long goth phase in middle/high school, but always deemed himself to be on the outskirts of society. Because he was aware from a young age that he was simultaneously unwanted and unplanned, Jonathan came out of his upbringing with the idea that he never should have existed. This planted in him a very nihilistic, misandrist, and generally flippant view of the world despite pursuing his dream to work in comics and cartoons. Though he was hungry for recognition and dreamed of a world not on Earth, he often found himself to be a ghost wandering the streets of town, looking in on the people having fun in their homes without understanding why they were happy. His insomnia developed when he in his teens, though he still had trouble sleeping as a child after seeing his mother’s mangled corpse at the bottom of the stairs - his doing, of course. Whether he lives with the guilt or not is up to you to decide; it’s my personal feeling that there is a part of him, the human part of him, that feels horrible about what he did. He feels monstrous for it, in fact. This is part of the reason why, if he gets extremely close to someone, he warns them that he’s not a good person; the shred of good left in him. But he also feels his “metamorphosis” into the nihilist that he is today was inevitable, given that he was never supposed to exist in the first place. It should be mentioned, of course, that this nasty cocktail of things has not only stressed his insomnia, but he eventually was pushed into going to a sleep clinic to get to the bottom of his problems once and for all. He only encountered an extremely traumatic lucid dream that forced him to confront his past head-on. He was unable to save his rotting humanity ( D., a small girl that looked like his character Deirdre ), and was eaten alive by The Other, a creature that looked like a younger version of himself and eventually absorbed him into itself. He awoke, now in what can only be described as a constant lucid dream in waking life. He encounters monsters and hallucinations from his dreamspace frequently, and will sometimes see D.’s forest crop up in his backyard. To this day, he still believes D. is alive and well - and, of course, that the object of his obsession, the one person who ever understood him in his point of view, Annie Kaye, is going to one day return to him as he’s always dreamed. Sadly, she could want nothing less to do with his sorry ass.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —   Around the time that The Insomnia Trap was simply going to be a screenplay, I workshopped it every few weeks in my senior Screenwriting class in undergraduate school. The overwhelming response I got was that Jonathan was abhorrent, creepy, and the question a lot of people had was why we were following him versus Adri, his ex girlfriend who was documenting his struggles with insomnia. My only answer to this is that is the point - you aren’t supposed to necessarily like him, I instead invite you to understand why he does the things he does. I’m asking you to do something you don’t like, something that makes you uncomfortable, maybe. I don’t believe entertainment in any capacity should be forced to be all about how “great” a person someone is. He’s a horrible person you can observe at a safe distance, and pick apart - a real puzzle who has his nasty qualities and his strangely good qualities mixed into one. I’m not asking you to forgive him, either. I’m asking you to see him for what he is and judge him for yourself. Jonathan is a gigantic mess of things - he’s deeply traumatized, but has chosen to live a life where he’s given in to his narcissism and self-importance, and he’s deeply hurt many people in his life - the most obvious being Annie, whom he feels he “deserves” after suffering so much in his life ( sure... ). He is in many ways a deeply unlikable character, and I wrote him keeping this in mind. That said, he has his better qualities, though they’re few and far between, that I think can keep him human in the eyes of the audience ( his love of animals, guilt towards his mother’s death, his intense self hatred, his genuine love for his nieces and nephews and for children in general, etc. ). Since he’s the protagonist of The Insomnia Trap, I can only hope that he is a complex and interesting enough character to follow for audiences if/when the limited series gets picked up!
What inspired you to rp your muse?  — Jonathan is based off of a very long personal experience I had, and I’ve always been fascinated by intense psychological horror. The two things came together, at first, when I was 12 and simply evolved from there. Originally, the project was going to be an animated flash movie that was divided into parts - but that of course never happened, I was too young and too impatient to ever do that. Over time, I ended up focusing Jonathan’s character, and he first appeared in high school - sophomore year, actually, in a different context. He’s been in development for a very long time, in other words, and I grew fascinated with a variety of different concepts over the years that got incorporated into his story ( doppelgangers, lucid dreaming, revenge, obsession, tragic protagonists, etc. )! He is one of the most intimate characters I’ve ever created, and I love him to death.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  Music is a big one, there are specific songs I want to get the rights to use in the project if it ever gets made, and that really helps keep me focused on this blog and develop Jonathan further. Also, threading with my fellow muns and seeing how Jo evolves over time. What’s he capable of? Can he change? Is he capable of change, or is he afraid of it? These are questions that are asked with each character he interacts with, and I sincerely live for it. Also, drawing helps me out a lot too - maybe you’ll see The Insomnia Trap in webcomic form soon... just a thought!
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / no idea honestly lmao
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO / depends!
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES - I also draw them! / NO, I HATE DRABBLES.
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES! / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO / sorta
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / HAHA NO.
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. / though i can handle critique, film school definitely hardens you to that!
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  I do. I’ve been explicitly told Jonathan is disgusting and totally unlikable by people to my face, and I have made leaps and strides to prevent my portrayal from going completely in the “this person is deplorable” category that was tempting to head towards. It’s easy to explore someone’s bad side rather than explore their good side, which I can forget about with him. That said, critique really does help me develop my writing further, and I desperately need it even if it can be hard to hear sometimes!
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  I love questions. If people ask me questions, I do my best to answer no matter what they may be. They can be challenging sometimes, but that’s what makes it so fun!
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Sure, I’m happy to hear what people have to say. I may not agree with it, but hearing different perspectives is so important in my point of view.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  As well as I could. It can be frustrating, but everyone’s tastes are different, so I don’t really take it personally and move on. I’m really here to do what I want to do in the end, as the rest of us are, so I try to prioritize that over any negative feelings I might have.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  Again, I just let it be. I’m used to people not really understanding Jonathan or not caring for him while understanding him, and that’s fine! Everyone has their preferences for what they like in leading characters or just characters in general. He is a triggering character with very triggering themes, and I’m writing him from a very prolonged experience I had ( and it’s very cathartic ) so I can understand why people may not want to engage with him or with me. I’m perfectly fine with it and invite people to put themselves first, and I move on like I mentioned in the above question.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  Yes! Please go for it. I literally do not proof my replies before I post them half the time so feel free to let me know if I misuse words or put commas/colons/semicolons or whatever out of place.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   — I think so! I try to be open and inviting to everyone I speak to here, and always encourage people to come talk to me if they’d like to. No pressure though! Roleplay is for fun, and it shouldn’t be anxiety inducing or any kind of work - do things at your own pace here, that’s what I say ( though I’m trying to follow my own advice! ).
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme
Tumblr media
fill out & repost ♥  This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK (it depends bc generally ppl will definitely sexualize her--esp the 1953 version--but in the DF fanbase itself I feel like mostly ppl fawn over other characters rather than Tink herself)
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Are they underrated? YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL
How strictly do you follow canon?
I try to keep pretty true to canon when it comes to Tinker Bell’s characterization, though I’m also a big fan of AUs and exploring lots of different plots that might be unlikely for the original character, so I guess I don’t “strictly” follow canon.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.
Tink is a 5 inch tall fairy who can use pixie dust to make magic happen--including flight! If people don’t believe in her, she’ll die. She’s extremely emotionally volatile, but she’s a very loyal girl so if she likes someone she’ll absolutely sacrifice herself for their sake. (But if she doesn’t, she’ll be the one organizing their death.) Her name is Tinker Bell because she works with metal, repairing pots and pans, but also she just invents a bunch o’ crap like a tiny MacGyver. If there is ever a rule in her way, she will go out of her way to break it like stepping on dead leaves on the sidewalk.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).
She’s a basic bitch? IDC how 2D the fanbase thinks she is based on which one of the canon portrayals they’ve seen of her. With all the adaptations I’ve consumed and can combine inspiration from to form a fully fleshed out character, I like my interpretation.
What inspired you to rp your muse?
Well...TBH I started out in this fanbase with an indie blog for Prilla, and then Terence. I first started playing Tink as just one of the possible takers of questions (among the rest of all fairies in the kingdom) on an ask blog for the Disney Fairies, 6 years ago.
I think I might have started writing her there just enough, or got deep enough in my reading/viewing Peter Pan media at some point, to take some interest in having a separate blog just for role-playing her, which I made. The original one I actually deleted after a couple months as far as I remember, but then I ended up remaking and have been on this same account for the past 5 years!
So, for the fact that this is my longest-lasting role-play (and writing in general) experience I’ve had, the strength of my inspiration for this one character and every little detail about her life and every possibility for her in alternate universes and in various situations with random characters...she was really the one who snuck up on me!
She wasn’t my favorite character BEFORE I started writing her, but she grew and grew in my heart until she’s all I think about.
What keeps your inspiration going?
I love Tinker Bell. Even if I become less active when life flares up for periods of time, then I’ll just remember that I love Tinker Bell and I want to come back and write about her. If I loved her any less she’d end up like the rest of my abandoned blogs/characters I’ve once played. But she sticks!
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO (I feel like people aren’t really interested unless it’s something that comes up in a thread)
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO (Again, I feel like who cares unless I’m writing for their thread specifically?)
Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO (I would like to be better than I am)
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?
I don’t think I’ve ever really received criticism about my portrayal, and I don’t mean that like “everybody thinks I’m perfect” but just that I’ve never reblogged a meme asking for anonymous crit, and nobody has ever just given me criticism unprompted either, so I don’t know how well I’d receive it!
I can say how I’d probably feel. Honestly, depending on the criticism, I would try to to understand it from an objective point of view and see whether it’s something I want to change/adapt, but if it’s something I disagree with (because we’re talking about portrayal which I take to mean “my personal interpretation of Tinker Bell’s characterization” which is the one thing I’m content with here) I would point out why I feel like my portrayal is justifiable.
If it’s criticism on my actual writing, I’ll definitely be open to learning and developing more--it’s just portrayal of the muse is so personal and subjective anyway that if someone really has a problem with my Tink....I don’t really care? Just find a different one, then. My Tink is going to be my Tink regardless of whether others appreciate my vision of her or not.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?
Sure! I almost never get character-building asks (even when I reblog memes for them) but I definitely welcome them and would love to have more!
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?
Might as well. We can definitely discuss WHY we each have a different interpretation, but in the end I’m going to have my own headcanons and they can have theirs. If I change my mind, then I have a new perspective, but if not then nothing is lost either!
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?
I’m not gonna take it personally. If they prefer a different interpretation, it’s totally fine to not follow mine and look for another one! I’m just here to have fun with a few people I really like writing with, not to be the “best” or most popular version of my character out there.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?
Roll my eyes and move on. I understand why some people don’t like the character, so it’s not like I’m gonna waste any effort defending her from hate--it’s their prerogative. I’ll just ignore it and love her extra.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?
Yeah, if there’s anything I’m consistently doing wrong, please feel free to point it out! Some things are just typos and don’t get caught before being posted, but if there’s something you’ve noticed me doing multiple times so it’s obviously an error of my understanding rather than a mistype, I would love to be able to fix it and become a better writer.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?
More or less! I don’t bug anybody about replies, you can definitely take your time or drop things with me. I’m pretty chill to talk to OOC as well, if I do say so myself. I’m actually probably the one ppl need to be “easy going” with because I never reply to threads or texts soon enough, I’m horrible at keeping conversations going...But that’s what people have to put up with if they like writing with me, the saints <3
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

Worldbuilding
Inspired by Phanniemay 2018, Day 6
Prompt: Worldbuilding
Alternate Universe: Starts in 1983, skips to Danny age ~17
Pairing: Established Iambic Prose after time skip
Rating: G+
Author Notes: So I made this in response to the one my girlfriend made HERE, and all those snippets of Ghostwriter’s ‘stories’ are snippets of my own work in progress novels! I had a lot of fun writing them, so I hope you have a lot of fun enjoying them - I might post them separately on my writing blog later.
Summary: Andrew Riter, now going by the Ghostwriter, finds a curious keyboard when still getting used to his new state of life. He’s not quite sure what it does, but he might as well figure it out - it’s not like the dead had much time to lose.
Don’t forget I’m doing more cool things on my Patreon all the time! I also have a Ko-Fi so consider buying me a coffee if you can’t pledge!
Click here to see the other stories that were inspired by Phanniemay 2018.
::
“Hello… What’s this?” Pushing a few old papers aside that looked similar to aged newspaper, Andrew Riter blinked down at what looked like a sleek, white computer keyboard. “Strange.”
As usual, there was no one to answer his musings as he pulled the keyboard out - not that he was surprised. Andrew had only been a ghost for a few short months, but he knew he was alone. Even if there were other ghosts in this hell, he knew he wouldn’t want to meet them. He and his brother both had feared the dead too much- His brother… Randy.
Shaking his thoughts off quickly, Andrew swallowed as he sat back and inspected the keyboard more closely. It didn’t look anything like what he was used to and if it weren’t for the letters and numbers labelling the keys then he would have never guessed this was a keyboard. It looked like something from the future, not from the year 1983.
Turning it over in his hands, he noticed that there were no indents on the back or any places for wires to connect to or come out of. In fact, it almost looked like a toy - he would have passed it off as such if it wasn’t for the fact that the keyboard was… Not quite glowing, but there was something about the way it was made that gave him pause.
Sitting down on the floor where he had found it, Andrew set it across his lap, staring at it in contemplation. “It would be nice to use something beyond pen and paper to write, of course.” This library had not crossed over with the computers the college had and there was no trace of a typewriter in sight. He had been making due with the pencils and spare paper he had found, but he was getting low and desperate enough to contemplate using the empty pages on the back of the older books that had come with him to… wherever he was.
“Of course, you would only be useful with a screen, wouldn’t-” Something flashed in front of Andrew. He was up and on his feet with a knife pulled out in near a heartbeat, eyes wide as he saw… As he saw nothing. There was no one in front of him and no strange objects, but he had seen something. “He… Hello?” He wasn’t sure if he was grateful that there wasn’t an answer or not.
Swallowing and creeping forward, Andrew paused when he almost stepped on the keyboard. The keyboard. Sitting back down, Andrew dropped his knife and placed the keyboard back on his lap. Nothing. “Screen?” Purple light appeared and Andrew blinked as he stared at a screen. It wasn’t- It looked like a hologram. Or at least, it looked like how holograms had been described in the books he had read and the stories he had written.
“Right. Alright. Nothing to worry about. Nothing but a keyboard that can hear and respond to me. Right.” He had fallen into one of his novels and he wasn’t sure how to feel about that. Actually, if it was one of his novels then he was rather justly terrified. “Okay. Um…”
The screen was blank and purple and there seemed to be a trimming of green around it. There was nothing on it to indicate just what it was doing there. “Pull up new document?” The screen flickered and there was now a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen, Andrew staring with wide eyes and oh, wow. “Are- Are there any saved documents?” Nothing happened, Andrew frowning and okay, think like Ches- No. Bad. Ches was bad. Think like Peter.
“Pull up saved documents.” The screen flickered and a window was pulled up that was light green and had ‘EMPTY’ flashing across it. “Right. Great. Okay. Aha- Ha! Alright, then!” Was he panicking? Andrew was pretty sure he was panicking. Screw it, he deserved to panic. “Okay, okay, okay, um, new- New document.”
The window disappeared and he was back to staring at the blinking cursor. Swallowing, Andrew wracked his brain before lining his fingers up on the keyboard and typing out a simple line.
The oddity, fittingly enough, was found among scraps of old newspapers from long ago. Perhaps it was birthed from the past or perhaps it was left by someone who wished to return there, but the keyboard was sleek and shining and did not belong to the world it was in.
“Nothing happening so far.” Well, no, there were words appearing, but it wasn’t causing the world around him to self-destruct or any such nonsense, so this was already better than most things! Chewing on his lower lip, Andrew nervously tapped the keys lightly enough that none of them were pressed down. “Right. Um. Save?” ‘FILE SAVED’ flashed across the screen, Andrew blinking before frowning. “View saved documents.”
The window opened again, Andrew seeing that there was now a file in there labelled as ‘DOCUMENT 1’ and oh, no, he would not stand for that. “Close window.” Oh, hey, that worked! “Save file as New Beginnings.” ‘SAVED’. “Ha, easy as can be.” He’d have a breakdown later, but for now it was working. Right. What else could he do with this?
“New document.” The words he had typed disappeared and he was left with a fresh new page. Interesting. “Right. Right, a story.” Biting his lip, Andrew looked around the room for any inspiration before he sighed. “I suppose I can just rewrite what I’ve done before.”
“I lied, you know.” The words were softly spoken and Andrea half hoped that Peter wouldn’t have heard them. He did, of course. He always heard her.
“Oh? You might have to be a bit more specific. I have a feeling you’ve lied about a lot of things.” As reluctant as she was to admit it, that did get a laugh out of her.
“I… It wasn’t my dream to sign up for the Air Corps.” There was silence from Peter and Andrea knew he wouldn’t speak again until she was done. He was both kind and cruel like that. “I mean- I’ve always admired the Iron Admiral, you know? He’s the kind of hero you grow up hearing stories about! But I- I never wanted to join. It was- I was being chased.
“I’ve told you a bit of it by now, right? Foster brat bounced around different homes? I didn’t like the one I was in then so I left and I got into some trouble. It’s- When you’re on the streets you do what it takes. When you don’t have anything, you do whatever it takes to get something. Long story short, I took something from the wrong group. I don’t… I don’t know what they would have done to me if I hadn’t run into the Admiral. He wanted an excuse and I-”
“You told him you wanted to join the Corps,” Peter finished, Andrea nodding with a laugh that she knew didn’t sound anything like a laugh should. It was dark, and bitter, and drenched in the lie she had built around herself. “You don’t want to be here.”
“I didn’t.” Andrea looked out over the edge of the ship - her ship - and breathed in deeply. “I didn’t want anything to do with a kingdom that would throw their kids over the cliff just as soon as they would save one to look good. The royals, the system, the way it’s all done- It’s so stupid and I hate it all, but… I don’t know about the Corps, but this crew isn’t about just serving blindly, is it?”
“If it was, do you think I would still be here?” That managed to get another laugh out of her, Andrea looking down to her pocket watch and idly spinning the turner. It stayed silent as always. “We’re all here for one reason or another, Andy.”
“Yeah.” This was the ship full of those who were seen as the rejects. The lost and broken and damaged ones who had no use. This… This was the ship full of dreamers. “It’s funny, though, that I found a home in the last place I ever wanted to be in.”
“That’s typically how it works.” There was a warm silence, Andrea trying not to jump when she felt a hand cover hers. “I find that doesn’t have to be a bad thing, however.”
“No…” The ship that she had heard only stories of had become her home and she was finding she wanted her lie to become the truth. “No, I don’t think it is.”
A life of
Pausing to adjust his glasses, Andrew glanced back to the screen and promptly had the urge to throw it across the room because there was now an airship right in front of him. Taking a moment to stay utterly still and see if it was about to attack him, Andrew slowly let himself relax when he saw the airship was just… floating.
“Curiouser and curiouser, yes?” No one answered him, but Andrew couldn’t help but feel as if something agreed because that airship- It was The Singing Maelstrom. It was the ship Andrew had written about for years and it was the ship he had even dreamed about. If he squinted, he could almost make out two humanoid figures on the bow of the ship.
It didn’t seem to be real since nothing happened when Andrew threw the knife through it, but it was definitely there in front of him. A hologram made by the keyboard? Why? Shaking his head, Andrew took a breath and alright. Maybe it was The Soundless Clock that caused this to happen where he had put so much time and care into that book. Maybe one of his more recent ones would react differently?
“Fine! I’ll be in town cutting my hair, dying it black, getting a belly button piercing, and picking out a tattoo if you need me!” Slamming the door shut behind her as hard as she could, and displeased when it only made a muffled sort of noise, Sage near screamed as she stomped off into the woods. “You can’t keep me trapped here forever!”
Making a face at the people who were staring, because that’s apparently what people did in small towns, Sage headed into the woods as quickly as she could. She wasn’t stupid enough to step off the dirt path, but she quickened her pace so she didn’t have to be around that camp any longer than necessary.
“Stupid sheriff.” God, it wasn’t- Her mom had never once mentioned this Sheriff Greene and how, apparently, he was a childhood friend that she had grown up with- What even was that? That wasn’t- Sage and her mom didn’t have secrets. They didn’t… Hadn’t…
Picking up a rock and throwing it as hard as she could at one of the trees, Sage winced as she felt the strain in her shoulder which just made her even more irritated. “I hate you.” God, how had this all- She wasn’t even sure who she was talking to anymore. “I hate you.”
She didn’t stop walking no matter how much her body screamed for her to take a breath. She knew she was going to be screwed over later when it came to getting the strength up to go back, but she didn’t care. She didn’t care.
Sage wasn’t sure how long she walked until she started calming down, but when she finally did stop her legs were burning, her feet felt sore, and there was sweat everywhere on her. She didn’t let herself sit down on the ground, though, instead choosing to stand and look around the clearing she had ended up in.
It really was beautiful. She had always loved drawing and painting pictures of the woods that she had printed off from her computer, but now that she was here it just… A picture couldn’t compare. She kind of hated herself for how much she didn’t hate it, but, well. She was starting to get a little bit tired of hate. Maybe that meant she was getting better.
“Oh great and mighty woods!” Raising her arms out like she would when speaking to a god, Sage tried not to laugh as she pictured Stacy if she was here. She would be doing the same thing while calling her crazy, no doubt. “I ask you for your guidance!”
A breeze whipped around her, Sage laughing at the timing of it all. Closing her eyes, Sage took a deep breath and let the wind cool her down, some of the uncomfortable pain leaving for a few brief moments. It wasn’t fair that it was Sage standing in this beautiful clearing. Her mother was the one who had loved the forest. Stacy was the one who did strange little things that didn’t make sense and loved the ‘aesthetic’ of nature. Sage…
“Any advice would be great.” Sage was a city girl. She had lived in big cities and she knew her way around the dark streets and seedy transportation better than she would ever know her way around the woods. “This isn’t supposed to be my world.” It wasn’t. It wasn’t, so why was this starting to feel like home?
Sighing, Sage walked over to one of the trees, patting at it gently. “At least you don’t judge a girl for talking to herself.” Leaning against the tree for a moment, Sage looked up to the canopy of leaves that caused filtering sunbeams to flicker through. It was so beautiful and she kept feeling like she couldn’t even properly appreciate it.
Glancing around and seeing she was well and truly alone, Sage braced herself as she sucked in a deep breath. There was something she had always kind of wanted to do, but never had the courage to.
Cupping her hands around her mouth, Sage sucked in as much air as possible before she howled. She put everything she had into it. All of her frustration, all of her anger, all of glee, all of the wild abandon, and every scrap of courage that allowed her to finally do something so silly.
Her air ran out and the howl trailed off into silence, Sage breathing raggedly as laughter started bubbling out of her and-
A howl came from behind her.
Looking up cautiously, Andrew slowly grinned as he saw an image of towering trees and a wolf peeking out from behind them. The wolf blinked and disappeared. “Incredible.” Getting excited now, Andrew spaced down a few lines to start a new entry, wracking through his mind for his most recent novel. If it worked like the other two, then maybe…
“Nope, no, I changed my mind. Yeah, you know what, let’s just stay right here. Doesn’t that sound like fun?” Star didn’t even get to stand fully before Ches was pushing her back down into her seat and buckling the belt over her. “Hey- Hey, no, that’s not- Kidnapping!”
“Star,” Ches sighed, cupping her cheek and probably making her flush as red as the ship they were on. “At your age it’s called abduction.”
“You ass.” Kicking him hard in the chest, Star rolled her eyes when he went down laughing. “Okay, maybe I do still want to do this, but I’m starting to think that maybe we shouldn’t use this ship? Or any ship of yours?”
“Hey! My ship is the best ship in the galaxy, I’ll have you know!” Ha- Aha! He couldn’t be serious. There was no way he was serious. This rust bucket looked as if it had barely managed to land when she first saw it come in at the docks. “There’s more to her than you know.”
“Yeah. Okay. Right. Great. Can I leave, now?” Instead of becoming sane and agreeing this was too dangerous, Ches gave her cheek a pat and near bounced up to the control panel. “This is a very small ship for travelling the galaxy, you know.”
“Yeah, it is.” That was all she was going to get? Ches had rambled for weeks while fixing his ship about all there was out there and now was when he chose to get coy on her? Bastard. He knew it worked. “Right, we should be just about ready.”
“Just about? Why just about?” Blinking as Ches spun around in his seat - they could spin? - Sage swallowed when he looked her right in the eye. “Ches?”
“I need you to be honest with me right now, okay? Whatever I ask, you have to answer with complete honesty.” That… That didn’t sound like the goofy, hyper Ches she had come to know. She really should back out now. She shouldn’t leave her colony. There was no place for her out in the stars. She… “Do you have any living family in this colony?”
“Yes.” At Ches’ look, Star looked away. “Cora, at the diner? She’s my aunt on my mom’s side. She’s been helping to look after me since my family died.”
“Would she want you to come back if you left? Did you even tell her you were leaving?”
“Yes. I told her.” Star shut her eyes, trying not to think about the heartbreak in her aunt’s eyes when she had come down the stairs with a single bag and wearing the headband that had been her mother’s. “She won’t try to get me back.”
“That wasn’t my question.” No, it wasn’t, but Star wasn’t going to answer that one because she knew what the answer was. “Are you going to regret leaving more than you would regret staying-”
“Never.” The word escaped passed her lips before she could stop it, eyes cracking open to see Ches’ eyes looking back into hers. The swirling violet colors caught her attention just as they had when she had first seen them. “I’d regret staying for the rest of my life.”
“Do you want to come with me?” It was the same question that she had been asked over and over again before she had finally said yes with a voice full of hesitation and doubt. She didn’t hesitate this time.
“Yes.” The two were silent before Star gave a small, nervous smile. “Fly me away to the stars?” Ches stared at her before he grinned wild and free.
“To the moon and back, then?” Ches laughed, moving to flip a set of switches in an order that didn’t make sense, but that was okay.
“Beyond it. For as far as we can go.” Star had time to learn everything. She had time to see everything.
“Forever seems a long way.”
“Then we’d better get started.”
Star looked forward and felt the need for adventure stirring in her veins, her breath coming fast as she laughed and threw herself forward hands braced against the console and come on. Come on. The world is waiting and the stars are right there and-
“Let’s go.”
Much more eager when looking up this time, Andrew beamed and laughed in delight when he saw the ship from the story ready to take off towards the moon that was above it. He had figured he was a ghost and he knew he could do basic ghost things - flying and phasing through objects and becoming invisible - but this? This was something else entirely.
“Save as Old Ideas. Open new document.” The screen cleared and the images disappeared like fog on a summer morning, Andrew grinning as he tapped his fingers against the keys for a moment.
They say dead men tell no tales. Joseph Whitley would like to punch the person who had said that and then introduce him to the dead men who wouldn’t shut up.
::
Pausing halfway into the study, Andrew leaned against the doorway and grinned at seeing Danny curled up on the couch and, yet again, reading Andrew’s books. When he had agreed to tutor Danny Phantom he hadn’t expected the boy to know about his writing and he certainly hadn’t expected to learn how much he adored it.
“Hey, Andy.” Laughing to himself, Andrew walked over and pressed a kiss to Danny’s temple, peeking at where he was in the book and, ah. Dirty Paws, today. “So, be honest, how much did you base this dude off of Randy?”
I believe the character’s name was Randy until I changed it in the final edit.” Grinning at the laughter, Andrew waved it off. “I don’t always base the characters off people I know.” Just the main characters.
“Alright, I’ll pretend to believe that lie.” Danny looked like he had more to say before he glanced down at the book and promptly got distracted, Andrew laughing himself this time.
“You act as if those books are your entire world.” He had never met someone as devoted to those books as Danny - especially Soundless Clock.
“They are.” Danny sighed, looking back up at him. “I know you don’t get it when I tell you this, but these books are- They were everything at one point for me. I mean- Jeez, Andy, when I first learned you wrote these I thought you were like J. K. Rowling or something!”
“I have more diversity.” It seemed Danny didn’t know whether to be amused or offended, but Andrew personally found his humor wonderful. “Thank you, Danny.”
“Yeah. Of course.” And now… “For what?” Adorable.
“Mm, everything, I suppose.” Twenty years of being alone and forcing others away and then a silly little half ghost had crashed in, destroyed a novel, and changed everything.
“That’s not fair.” Danny blushed far too easily, really, but Andrew supposed it was adorable. “That’s not fair, Andy.”
“Whoever said a writer was fair?” Laughing as Danny huffed and grumbled to himself, Andrew continued on to his desk, pausing as he caught sight of some yellowed old papers out of the corner of his eyes. “Vidya, what are those?”
A strain of tumbled notes flew through his head, his lair just as confused over the sight as he was. Frowning, Andrew walked over and brushed the paper aside, curious when he saw a flash of white and then… Oh. “I remember you.”
“Andy? What’d you find?” As Danny sat up on the couch, Andrew sat down on the floor and pulled out a sleek, white keyboard that wouldn’t be out of place among today’s computers. It looked the same as it had the day it was destroyed. “Is that your keyboard thing? Cool! I always felt kind of bad I busted it up.”
“You did,” Andrew said quietly, fingers brushing against the keys. He… He had stopped using it for writing only a few years after he found it and instead used the typewriter. A part of him, he supposed, liked to pretend he was still normal. Now, though? Andrew Riter had grown just as much as the Ghostwriter. “Screen.”
A purple and green edged screen flickered out in front of him, Andrew laughing as Danny near fell off the couch to fly over to him. “I didn’t know your keyboard could do that!”
“It could do a lot,” Andrew smiled, the smile getting wide as Danny sat down and leaned against his side. “View saved documents.” The window flicked up and Andrew paused at seeing there was only one file. “Well that can’t be right.”
“What? Is there supposed to be more?” Quite a few. Andrew had made hundreds before he put the keyboard away, so why was there only one?
“Yes, there is.” There was only one file, though, and it was one Andrew didn’t remember. “From the Beginning.” How strange a name. Still, though.
It couldn’t hurt to take a peek.

Five Disadvantages Of Black Fedora Hat Womens And How You Can Workaround It | Black Fedora Hat Womens
Hot-pink angular cardi, atramentous covering skirt, noir applique stockings, flamenco shoes in jet black, and jet lag–Edie Orenstein, aloof aback from Spain, wears them all actual well. Oddly, her arch is bare– abnormally , because for the accomplished 17 years, Edie’s Hats, her boutique in the Net Loft on Granville Island, has been Vancouver’s epicentre of air-conditioned headgear. Transitioning from the sunshine alfresco to the beyond abundance she confused into three years ago is like jump-cutting from a beer bartering to a arena from a atypical by Colette. Antique lamps adhere from a beam draped and swagged with fabric. Crystals twinkle. A huge amber covering armchair and Persian rugs arm-twist a gentlemen’s club atmosphere (in the gentlemen’s hat section), while the ambiance against the rear of the store, breadth headwear becomes progressively beneath practical, is undiluted glamour.
In her mind, Orenstein, who is additionally a flamenco dancer, is still in Spain. Hundreds of photos from her cruise will anon go up on Flickr, forth with belief in her abutting newsletter. (You can assurance up for it at www.edieshats.com/ ) What’s interesting, she affairs to write, is the improvement of dress hats in added acceptable Seville and of artery hats in Madrid and Barcelona. She’s additionally beginning abundant off the even to be able to animadversion on the sartorial differences amid Western Canada and Spain. “Here, women are timid,” she says. “The Europeans dress . It isn’t a aberrant affair or a appropriate thing; it’s life. They don’t accede it frivolous. The afternoon comes. They go home, accept a siesta, but in the aboriginal atramentous they get dressed, absolutely nicely, and they all go out walking.”
The fizz is that this is a division for the acknowledgment of the hat. (Cloches and turbans are on the border for fall.) What’s walking out of her abundance appropriate now, says Orenstein, are fedoras, accurately the simple atramentous fedora that apparel “all ages, both es, and all demographics. It’s angled into artery fashion.” She indicates a hat angle bristling with the archetypal hat interpreted, to aces two at random, in stripes or a retro-looking checkerboard in brown, red, and cream. Big, too, are caps of all sorts, admitting not beyond the added class-conscious Atlantic, breadth the cap is advised the workingman’s hat. Here, the driver’s cap connotes funkiness rather than a career as a chauffeur, abnormally back it’s seamed from two fabrics, such as, for instance, one amber with white embroidery, the added a metallic-threaded check.
So why don’t added bodies abrasion hats? Fear, for the best part. “We [at Edie’s Hats] absorb a lot of time walking bodies through their affecting barriers. We advice bodies accretion self-confidence,” says Orenstein. She and her colleagues additionally act as examples. Agents affiliate Sarah Evans

So httyd came from the imagination of a person, so , everything comes from imagination planet, if there is something someone doesnt like about the shows and movies, change it in your imagination and it shall still be cannon, (cause its definitley not REAL with everything that reality comes with again NOTREAL) there, problems solved for everyone, even though i dont own the properties of httyd (though maybe anyone could buy them) since it has been shared with the world im sticking with this :D
For my perspective on why canon is canon regardless of inconsistencies or fandom preference, see here. Essentially, if an official source publishes the material, it is canon. Canon =/= consistency; canon = source (ALL stories have inconsistencies). It doesn’t matter if there are plot inconsistencies or different writers because it has been given the stamp of being official and being produced and distributed by an official source with official permission. Whatever we like or don’t like about it, it’s still official and we can’t take that away even if we’re not fans of it. It’s still official. It’s still canon.
I believe, friend, that you’ve already submitted this to other blogs to speak your thoughts. You might not need to broadcast to everyone by submitting to multiple blogs. ;) You have been heard already. I would please respectively ask that you don’t use my own blog as a bulletin board or loudspeaker. Take care and thanks!
I appreciate your attempt to placate yourself and other people who may not be fans of everything that appears in canon for the shows/movies/comics/books/etc. In a way, you have a very valid point: stories are stories, they’re imagination, and we as creative audience members can imagine new things to the story as we like. That is the power of fanfiction and fanart: we can rework something into new ways and experience the power of the story in a new, altered, or perhaps even improved form. We have the power of our own imagination to go new directions with the source material.
And it is a good thing not to get too worked up about some small nuance in a story that we’re not fans of. Fiction is fiction; if something doesn’t happen exactly the way we like it in a story, it doesn’t have to be a monumental deal because the story is not exactly “concrete” reality. There are some things we might not prefer in fiction that really aren’t worth having a row over, and it’s good to be mature, get past that, and imagine things as we would prefer them happen without getting into conflict or complaint.
However, there are several things to consider with this sort of argumentation. Since you did send your perspective to me, I hope it’s okay if I return to you why I personally wouldn’t use this as an optimal solution. Please, of course, continue to have fun celebrating what you love about the story! I just fear that this sort of phraseology can glaze over some very important things: namely, that the creators do have the right and power over their own stories, unlike audience members; that canon materials are the common ground in fandom and not our headcanons; and that sometimes it is important for fandom to be able to discuss the pros and cons of the material that legitimately exists without trying to erase it away in bliss.
There is a difference between the official creator’s imagination and the audiences’ imaginations
While it is true that a fictional work comes from one person’s imagination, and we also have the rights to imagination, they’re not on “equal planes” when it comes to one specific fictional work. The creator of the fiction is the person who has the authority to broadcast and provide the official story. The audience does not have this authority. One person creates canon. The other person does not and that is a concrete fact. That is reality in our real world.
Who does or does not create something is concrete reality; fiction might be made-up stories, but it doesn’t erase the concrete reality of who created what.
The point is that anyone who creates an official story directly through DreamWorks creates canon for the How to Train Your Dragon world. We as fans do not have official status and cannot create canon for the How to Train Your Dragon world. The most that we as unofficial fans can do is create fanwork and headcanons on the topic.
Consider if you were the author of a story that you put your heart and soul into. You know exactly how the characters operate, what happens, how the world works, how the story unfolds. Then one of your readers approached you and said, “No, you wrote that wrong. That can’t be canon.” That is, unfortunately, very disrespectful, and not very legitimate. You as the author have a right to what you have done. You’re the expert, you’re the creator, not them! The point is that the reader doesn’t have the right to tell you what is and isn’t canon in your own story. The author is the one and only maker of canon. Anyone telling you otherwise is wrong.
Now the consumer can go and imagine how the story goes however they like it. They’re free to do that and that’s cool. But there’s definitely a distinction between what the audience wants and what is concrete canon. No matter how much we say “I reject X from canon,” X is still canon. We can’t erase that away with words.
Where we can all be on the same plane is with the official material
Fans know official canon together. It’s widely accessed and it’s the thing that got us into the fandom in the first place. We’ll all be on the same plane and level of knowledge and understanding about the official material. We won’t, by contrast, have the same widespread level of shared familiarity or knowledge with headcanoned musings. Canon supersedes headcanon, even if the headcanon has things we would prefer! As you say, you don’t own the properties of HTTYD. The people who own the properties of HTTYD do, however, spread their material officially, and it’s something we all fans can acknowledge as something that exists within the fandom body. This is where we do have our legitimate, real, common ground.
Fiction has impact and we need to acknowledge what it is head on
Acknowledging canon is important because fiction does have impact. Fiction changes lives. Fiction imparts messages, morals, and more to us. Fiction can get in our heads what is the “norm” and what is “unusual,” what is preferable and what is socially scorned, what is cool and what is stupid, what is admirable and what is deplorable. Fiction might be stories with imagination, but it has very real impact.
The perpetuation of certain types of representations or stereotypes of people groups in fiction has consequence. It legitimately does affect how people perceive the concrete world around them. The telling of morals, of heroicism, has huge consequence, too.
If an official story has a really good message, or if an official story has some problems with representation or morals or meaning, then it’s important that we acknowledge it as it is - flaws and all. Ignoring what we don’t want and pretending it’s not in existence does not tackle the important issues of fiction. We don’t solve fandom and consumer concerns through drifting into headcanon. Any time we avoid issues, we fail to understand them to their fullest, and we certainly fail to solve them. Only by acknowledging the good and the bad as it actually stands can we legitimately get somewhere.
This dialogue is important.
I believe that constructive criticism is extraordinarily important. We should be able to analyze something with acuity and say, “Maybe how this story represents women isn’t ideal. Here are the things that are wrong with it.” In that way, we can all be edified with our dialogue and understand together what is going on, rather than ignoring it and saying, “I reject your reality and substitute it with my own.” We can’t disappear into our own imagination planet where everything is glib and happy. If we do that, and completely ignore what canon actually gives us, hoping to get a happy solution that way, then we might fail to engage in dialogue that is important to our understanding of what is good and what is bad in fiction, and how it impacts all the consumers who have experienced this shared canon fiction.
Respecting canon is respecting what started your fandom
I believe in level-headed constructive criticism in the right contexts, but I definitely don’t believe in whining. Complaining and trashing a story and being rude about something doesn’t reflect well on our character. It also doesn’t do good things for the fandom community. I hope that people who have been on my blog notice that I intentionally prefer to focus on the positive and celebrate the great aspects of the fandom. I don’t ignore or wave away serious problems, but I do show myself to be a respectful fan who shows what I love about my fandom and fandom materials.
I do believe that we can legitimately enjoy a story even if it has flaws. All stories have flaws. We as adults can respectfully acknowledge what isn’t perfect and at the same time celebrate what is legitimately good about the fiction. That does not mean endorsing what is bad or trying to justify things that are legitimately morally wrong. But in cases where a fandom canon has something benign that I wouldn’t prefer - say, who ends up hooking up with who - I can still respectfully acknowledge that event as canon reality because I respect the creators who gave the fandom to me. I’m not going to say, “That didn’t happen.” It did happen, and I am going to respect the fact that the creators are the ones who gave me the story I love in the first place. I’m not going to trash the creators for not writing my optimal story; I’m going to thank them for giving me their story, and acknowledge the fact that they wrote the story that they did.
I believe that we should give the creators the credit they are due: they made it, and their story isn’t “rejectable” or “not canon” in our own minds just because it’s not the story we would have told.
If we are fans of a material, we got drawn into the canon at some point and love it to some level. The canon material is what got us into the fandom in the first place. That’s why it’s called a fandom: we’re fans of that fiction. By then going in and hating on canon is counter to why we are in the fandom in the first place: to have fun with the canon we have been impacted by and enjoy. Trashing on the creators of the fiction material we’re fans for is a little… disconcerting.
So in summary…
1. As much as you can say everything comes from imagination planet, stories come from different imaginations. Who created the story is a real fact that isn’t imagination land. The creator(s) of the story is/are the maker(s) of the story. They are the legitimate authority over the story and only they create canon. People who provide official canon are canon. No matter how much we go into our own imagination lands, it doesn’t take away from the concrete reality that someone else created this story and characters and world.
2. The common ground of fans is the official source material. Not headcanons. We don’t all share the same headcanons, but we can all talk about the canon material with objectivity because it has been given to us officially.
3. In some areas that people have problems with canon, the issue is serious because it’s about something that impacts society. Going into imagination land and changing it there without confronting the issue means we don’t understand the issue in full and means we don’t solve the issue.
4. In the areas of canon that we just don’t prefer because they’re not our ideal story, we can imagine alternates, but we still have to acknowledge canon is canon. To whine and say “I reject your reality and substitute it with my own” just because the story doesn’t go as we want it comes at the cost of being disrespectful to the creators of the story we consume. We should be able to be respectful to the creators for giving us what they gave us rather than saying, “You didn’t write this right.”
I hope that we can all come together as fans and celebrate and enjoy the story for what it is rather than rejecting it simply because we don’t prefer some elements of it. The story is story. Canon is canon. The official sources are the official sources. We cannot change that.
But we can create headcanons.
We can create fanfictions and fanart and fan comics.
We can always go into our own imaginations, as you say, to a fun world of headcanons. Swim in your headcanons, have fun in them! They shall never be canon, but they can have the fun merits of imagination. <3
Take care, stay awesome, and have a wonderful day, friend.

Winter in the Netherlands
Just over a year ago, I decided to take part in an early 'Brexit' and move away from my motherland, the UK and begin a new life in the Netherlands. Since then, I have settled into my new life, job and feel very happy within my new surroundings.
My move was relatively straightforward. Firstly, as the distance isn't too far, so I can visit friends and family, when I wish and it is actually very similar to the UK in many ways. I like the language, humour and weather to name just a few, so the transition has been relatively smooth.
Also, my partner is a 'Dutchie' and to build a better future together and establish our family life, it was only right that we were situated in one place. As a result we now reside in the land of cheese and clogs.
Since moving I have feel I have become a little bit more like myself again, more like the person I want to be, perhaps just fully enjoying life and making the of things that come my way. Now I cycle a lot, run a lot and probably rediscovered a part of me that was lost for a while.
I have been really pleased with my new home and surroundings. The Netherlands is a lovely place to live and I feel lucky to be part of the country and the many wonderful things that are on offer. The scenery, the culture and the customs, it is all good.
Moving here is a little bit of a contrast to where I'm originally from. Fair enough, there is no mountains here and a ruggedness I'm so used too. It hasn't really bothered me though, as I now live close to the sea and as the country is relatively small, you can reach almost everywhere within a few hours.
Besides being slightly obsessed with the outdoors, being outdoors and doing outdoors, I'm also slightly disturbed by my fascination with the weather. I think I do have some answers. I'm a Geographer at heart and feel happiest being in the outdoors seeing and experiencing this that working hand in hand with nature.
The Winter is a season I love. I really like the cold, snow, frost, low light and effect this has on the landscape. To have a proper winter is something I really look forward to and when it happens, I like nothing more than putting the appropriate gear and just getting out there an experiencing our beautiful world.
Sadly, in recent years, it has been well documented that global warming is playing its part and with the ever changing jet streams, it means that what was once a pretty much guaranteed cold and snowy winter, now becomes mild, grey and a little uninspiring.
Thankfully, winter here, has not been like last years and it has certainly been a great delight to see some cold, frost days. Recently, the weather has been cold and clear for a long period, which has lead to some brilliant opportunities to not only discover my surroundings a little more, but also capture some potentially great photographs.
As I continually highlight, I'm not a photographer and everything I do is either through learning from others, being inspired by others, or simply learning from my mistakes. I have a good camera, but predominately take images (out and about) on my smartphone. This winter has given me another chance to experiment with those potential opportunities and where possible I have tried to do that while either being out on my bike or out on a run. It might sound bizarre, but it is good to multi task and due to the fact I'm slightly obsessed with both cycling and running, it seems only natural that I take a few images along the way.
After taking a shot, I generally have to look at the editing process. I'm really not the best at editing a photo, but it is something I have learnt to improve overtime and with the use of many popular apps and computer based software, I come up with something I'm happy with. To bore you with the overall editing process is a pain I wish not to put you through. I personally find it so boring listening to others telling, writing or vlogging 'how they edit a photo' and if that 'floats your boat' then I will leave that upto the 'so called' experts. For me, life all about finding things out for yourself and learning from your mistakes? My job is to teach and develop young minds, by taking control and influencing too much, can diminish creativity and as a result everything just turns out the same.
Maybe it's really just me, but I prefer to be different and I like it to remain that way. I'm not one to follow the crowd or make out to be something I'm not, there is no point, as you only get found out in the end. Go figure!
Being armed with a bike and camera is a pretty lethal combination, as sometimes the opportunity or moment arises where the perfect shot is just being laid out in front of you. With that in mind, I don't particularly go looking to shoot, basically I don't have the time. I just take the chance while cycling to work or completing a training session at the weekend, and to be perfectly quite honest, I like it that way. I work hard in the week (educating and inspiring others) and I really look forward to good family time at the weekend. It is so very valuable, as we're always so aware that life is so short. Therefore, I actively seek every chance / opportunity to utilise my time management wisely.
I also like the feeling of just living my life, in the moment or I guess, in the context of photography, just capturing the moment. In my opinion, for what its worth, capturing the moment means that if I see something spontaneous that appeals, I will try my very best to capture it, as opposed to purposely going out, setting up and taking some specific. I would be good if I could work that way, but I'm personally someone who doesn't live there life by a plan. Of course, I have some routines, but I feel when you do go out looking, you don't always end up finding what you are looking for. Of course... others might see things differently than me and of course have their opinion, but... that is just me, using the time I have.
The landscapes here in the Netherlands always offer some great opportunities to take an abundance of water shots, with the many inland waterways and lakes scattered all around the country. Lonely trees, sitting in the wide expanse of an open flat polder and many long, straight cycle paths, that help to give a wonderful sense of perspective and point of view, of the wider surroundings. I live in the South of Holland, so it is predominately flat and exposed to what nature throws at it. Further to the East there is fantastic array of woodland that stretches to the German border. Here too some wonderful images are also be captured and on a regular basis, by talented photographers, who maximize the natural elements of light and shadow, within their beautiful surroundings.
Since moving here I have realised that the winters in the Netherlands can be rather spectacular, as (high above) when the air masses naturally collide, there can be many days where there is an abundance of lingering fog, ice encrusted landscapes, fields, trees and bushes covered in thick frost and snowfalls that can create a wondrous scene, especially in the woodland areas.
Last year, the weather just seemed to be typically the same. With prevailing winds from the south west establishing a gloomy, grey facade that pretty much lasted all season long. As a result the weather was windy and raining, pretty much all of the time. So much so, that it was nasty at times and annoying when I was out and about cycling. Thankfully, so far this year, we have been really lucky and had a varied conditions, that have generally been a great mix of almost everything.
Images of Winter
The above images are some of the many images that I have managed to capture, while out and about on my travels, during the winter months. So far, it has all been pretty good, with a range of weather types, over the past few months. With that in mind, it has simply been wonderful to just experience some days of lingering thick fog, around Christmas and more recently, a long week of hard frost and beautifully clear skies.
For me, that has been really great to see and something I'm sure everyone visiting here, would love to see too, once the ice arrives and the canals begin to freeze over. The popular winter pastime of skating takes hold. I think the the depth of the ice has to be measured and once the all clear is given, everyone takes to the ice, even pretenders like me.
As previously highlighted (further up) it is definitely something I have never witnessed before and actually seeing it take place in small provincial villages on the route home from work and also in some random places is perhaps what you wouldn't expect to see someone on a cold winters day. In fact the other day I was cycling along, next to a narrow canal, when a man passed me on his skates. He was probably going home from work or doing the shopping, but it was out in the middle of nowhere and just seemed so strange to me.
Whatever the reason, it is a fabulous sight to see and seeing people come together and enjoy something collectively, as a community or club is a pretty good vibe. Unfortunately, what snow we have had this winter has been relatively sparse. I live in the city of Rotterdam and also we are closely located near the sea. Here the winds maintain a warmer feel to things and if I want to see some substantial snowfalls, I would probably have to head to the higher ground near Limburg or even across the border into Germany. Hopefully before the winter is out, I can get to see something of these areas, as I have only visited once in the summer months.
Thank You
I would like to extend a big thank you for taking the time to read my musings. I don't have all the answers and certainly don't profess to be an expert at anything I do. I again just live my life to the full and want to experience, as much as possible.
For me, writing a blog is a way of not only sharing thoughts and topics with my friends and family, but also perhaps appeal to a wider audience, that may choose to read, listen and comment, sharing there views.
With that I fully appreciate any comments, support or criticism. I look at it all with an open mind and of course use it as a vehicle of not  trying to improve my work, but also a source of inspiring me to attempt something new.
I will not only 'forge my own path', but I'm significantly inspired by others and the things they do, achieve or their own unique view on things. With that in mind I would like to share some others in the Netherlands, who consistently produce work that not only inspires me to greater things, but also captures the wonderful Netherlands in their own personal way.
@claireonline
@vincentcroce
@rjansen1967
@erikhageman
Of course there are many others out there and many I also admire, but in particular these are the people that have significantly influenced me when living in the UK and also now that I live in the Netherlands.
For more of their inspiring work, please click on the links above.
Next month, I travel back to the UK and hope to document something new then. Please look out for some future posts.
