My nightstand altar to Lady Artemis. Today I offered Her moon cookies that I baked with my femme to honour Her for the Delphinia.

Delphinia

Celebrating Apollon and Aretmis, Delphinia kicked off with unmarried girls proceeding to their shrine/temple on the bank of the Ilissos River.

Girls carried branches of olive wrapped in white wool in honor to Apollon. Delphinia is thought to be in dedication to Apollon as a god who controlled the sea and fair travel as Theseus had prayed to him for his fallen companions before he set sail.

While in mythos Theseus is connected to Apollon it is more likely that this day was in celebration to his twin, Artemis, as it falls on her holy day. In this sense, the women asked for Artemis' protection and favor. Similarly, maidens were associated with Artemis, not Apollon.

Modern Hellenist can observe this day by celebrating both the Twins, though I recommend separate. An unmarried women might wish to offer to Artemis for protection and Apollon for fair travels. Men and non-binary people might wish to offer to Artemis for thanks for the protection of women, good hunting, travel at night, or anything else and Apollon for fair travel. You may also wish to thank the Twins for anything they might have done recently for you, or simply offering in thanks to build Kharis.

Symbols of Apollon (the sun, chariots, bows, arrows, lyre, poetry)

The Delphinia was held on 6 Mounikhion (April 4 in 2025) in honor of Artemis, likely asking for protection for young women. It involved a procession of unmarried girls carrying olive branches wrapped with white wool. (Parke 137)

(For the title thing) The ghost!

Many rumors and stories surround the death of Lady Delphinia Heather. Some say she was killed by her husband. Others by some monster or stranger who crept into their manor. Others still say she was finally successful in her attempts to leap from the manor's roof. Whatever the reason, it left Lady Heather in a state of undeath, doomed to haunt as a ghost.

Dearest Gentle Readers,

The world is either kind or cruel. And so far I have seen many things happen in my time alive. As well as many things coming together. Whether it may be good or bad. We may never know. However, given such circumstances mean a little to no end. And our greatest fears become our greatest obsessions. In the world of magic I shall say. I say, I have never seen so many lovely witches and wizards coming together in harmony for the mere existence of this game of “Hogwarts Legacy” and dare I say how lovely the art is in this community. The creativity it brings can bring the most out of a person. From the people who enjoy the life of a potions master, or a potions Professor. Who captures our hearts in the most particular way. Or for a man who gets little to no time on the platform, who has the same voice of a blind Slytherin. And then we have a certain man who took its time to weigh in the community, by just being a soft hearted Prewett. And to me, we need more. And what of our ghastly friend, Richard Jackdaw. Whom was a ghost who captured our hearts from the very beginning of the game.

Now I said my share from the game itself. Just know dear readers that I may have been here for a short time, however I do intend to stay here. For as long as you have me. And make a name for myself. In regards to being left unattended elsewhere. Well.. that’s for a later date.

NOBLE BOY It's been a while since I saw you at one of these, your highness. LAURIE ALAIRE I do try to keep away. All this access is disgusting. NOBLE BOY There are many other reasons to come. NOBLE BOY Jean, Lady de Chabannes has been staring at you since you've arrived. NOBLE BOY (annoyed) ignore her, she'll tell you I broke her heart, or whatever. NOBLE BOY (Laughs) That's cruel even for you, Lord Levis… Giselle walks in, eyes turn to her as she does. One of the boys walks up to Laurie, whispering in his ear. NOBLE BOY Didn't you have something going on with, Lady De La Valliere? LAURIE ALAIRE Shut it, mathieu. It's quite literally ancient history. NOBLE BOY Well then you won't mind if I take a shot at it. LAURIE ALAIRE … Laurie excuses himself, Giselle has long since spotted laurie as well. But she has disappeared. He finds her at a balcony, she's overlooking the edge. He walks up to her, lights his cigarette. She looks over at him. GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE Are you supposed to be doing that? LAURIE ALAIRE How can I be sure? They look at eachother for a moment 8p (luc has cig GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE Let me. She takes a puff, and coughs a bit. 9(elle has cig LAURIE ALAIRE (laughs) You still can't handle it. GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE Who says I can't. You don't know what I can handle… (suggestive) LAURIE ALAIRE … Well maybe I have to figure you out all over again. 10 lau cig GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE … You should go. LAURIE ALAIRE I'd like to stay. GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE Not many people would willingly choose my company. LAURIE ALAIRE It's not nice to lie, Giselle. As soon as you arrived, all eyes were on you. 11 elle cig GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE They just want a piece of me. They're like dogs, and I'm some sort of new prey. LAURIE ALAIRE You could hardly be prey. I remember- 12 laurir cig GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE Memories are fickle, they can change like the tide. And I'm no memory. Giselle has been leaning against the banister. Laurie looking at her. LAURIE ALAIRE What happened to you? GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE … SOME GUY (calls out to them, lookinng for laurie) Giselle stamps out the cigarette with her heel. GISELLE DE LA VALLIERE You're better off never knowing. Walks away, laurie staring after her.

SPACE DRAGON. This is Delphinia, space serpent that forever swims the cosmos~ been revisiting this design every couple of years for awhile, since I first drew them back in 2018.

And once her service has ended, a general may be willing to grant her a favor of her own.

NOTES:  This series is upcoming. (DON'T GET TOO EXCITED, IT WILL BE A HOT SECOND. I had some free time and decided to use my dreaming period to throw together an inspirational image, so here we are. We're still in the dreaming/research phase. But. Dreaming is happening and notes are adding up. Also I blame @insomniamamma for being very encouraging and thinking through a tough decision with me.)

A Ravenclaw prefect passes you in the corridor with a variety of cupcakes floating behind him in the air. The differences in their colouring, decorations, and even smells give away different flavours. Not a single one repeats.

As the prefect disappears behind the corner, the very last cupcake in line with pastel-green icing and a single pistachio on top separates from the rest: the hold of the prefect's magic on it started to lessen. The pastry visibly begins floating lower and lower right beside you.

What do you do?

Delphinia kept a brisk pace as she made her way down the corridor in Ravenclaw Tower. Her thoughts raced in a similar manner, trying to keep hold of the task list she’d made…and forgotten to jot down. One said task was to grab the Arithmancy notes she’d left on her bed. She frowned.

There was something else she was supposed to retrieve from her room, as well, wasn’t there?

A pop of color, accompanied by a plethora of wonderful aromas, came into Delphinia’s vicinity and lured her from her inner turmoil momentarily. She slowed as a Ravenclaw prefect passed her, a variety of beautifully crafted cupcakes trailing behind them. Each appeared to be a different flavor. Not just the icing and decoration, but the cake as well! What an adorable assortment of treats.

The prefect rounded the corner, and a faint smile painted Delphinia’s face as she watched each cupcake dance around the corner behind them, one by one. The last in line was certainly unmistakable—pistachio. Golden cake, tinged a pale, earthy green and a pastel green icing spiraled spectacularly. A single shelled pistachio topped it off in a perfect, simple decoration.

Delphinia couldn’t help the way her mouth watered, and she found herself wondering if she should make a trip to purchase a half dozen of the green goddess treat for herself—

It was sitting a bit too low, wasn’t it?

It hadn’t followed.

Her head snapped back toward the end of the corridor to find the prefect—and their sweet treat companions—were entirely out of sight now. Eyes wide in a sudden panic, she looked to the rogue pastry and sputtered. 

Merlin, what was that student’s name again?

Once she’d summoned the lingering cupcake to her person, Delphinia scurried down the corridor and around the corner. She wanted to curse how quickly the prefect moved, but truly she blamed herself. If she hadn’t been drooling over the thing, perhaps she’d have noticed—

“Er—Excuse me!” she called out as she caught sight of the prefect. “You have a runaway!”
