calling all desi folks !

hello there ! i have been in the rp community for over a decade now on various platforms but it has always been hard to come across fellow desis to write with .

do you want to scream over your favorite ships like rahul - anjali from k3g or build up an alternate world to accomodate the chemistry that was between abhimanyu - rohan in soty ? do you want to talk about latest movies and old nostalgic ones ? across most major indian languages film industries ( telugu · tamil · hindi · kannada · malayalam ) movies , faceclaims and ship dynamics , look no further !

if you're a desi reading this and if you roleplay over at discord or are interested in doing so , like this post or send me a dm !! i would love nothing more than to connect with my fellow desi rp partners !!

full disclosure : admin is 23 and looking to write mostly queer desi ships with folks who are 20+ and desi ! minors do NOT interact .

i don't write as real persons or celebrities , i use faceclaims for original characters instead . a new character will be created for each rp plot / partner . plotting and headcanons are something i really enjoy so that would be fun to focus on as well !

smut can be written but it's a case - by - case basis on who and what i am comfortable with , but otherwise , fade - to - black is the norm . limits and triggers are respected so i request the same of you .

though , if you're simply looking to write females / sub characters only or wanting to use my male characters , then i am not the rp partner for you .

Hello people of the tags

My name is Pari, and I have decided to come back here to RPing.

This blog is currently a mess, and hence I request you to please ignore the aesthetic. It is my endeavour to fix it on my laptop soon.

In the meantime, I am looking to get back into writing. Since I am a little rough around the edges, I'd like to first begin with old OCs.

They're re all female, and am seeking any sort of plots. This can be brother-sister, sisters, friendship, frenemies, even mother daughter, or romantic. I'm not very picky. I just want to write.

I do have a variety of characters including but not limited to: Disney, GoT OC, historical OC, a princess, an actress, you name it.

Point being, I'm very flexible. So yeah, hit me up or like this.

Also, I definitely am into Desi RPs. Definitely not doing smut anymore. We will fade to black for those due to personal reasons.

My Personal Ideology:

By this I try to live everyday rather easily because it’s not that hard. You’re not focusing on breaking friendships and existing relationships but rather focusing upon enjoying your company more and learning more about yourself.

If you have friends, it’s okay to spend some time and catch up with them as long as they provide a safe space for your individuality.

Life is a tragically beautiful thing and I’m learning and finding my own ways to live it and I choose to embrace being on my own and depending upon myself and trying to make it as easy as I can.

You are a unique Pokémon, my friend once reminded me, be grateful for your quirks and work upon your personality as long as you’re pleased to spend time with yourself.

The Aesthetics:

So I was rereading pjo (i needed the comfort read coz my boards, kinda like the SATs are going on😭) and I noticed that there are waaaayyy too many similarities between greek mythology and Hindu mythology. So I've decided to write about that instead of studying. Here it goes...

Zeus/Indra : ok they are literally the same deity. Both are the kings of gods, are gods of the sky, use a lightning bolt as a weapon and have giant egos which are set off by the tiniest of things.

Athena/Saraswati : Both are the godesses of wisdom and knowledge, but the more interesting thing is that both had very unusual births (Saraswati was born when Brahma split his body into two) and both were "birthed" by their fathers.

Hades/ Yamraj : Yamraj also coincides with Thanatos coz he's both the god of death and the king of the dead. Just like Hades, he's actually considered to be a really good god despite being associated with death.

Styx/Vaitarani : This river is said to separate the realm of the living from that of the dead. Here too, a fee is required to be given to the ferryman to cross the river.

Icarus/Sampati : now these two are very similar but also very different at the same time. Now the myth goes like this. Jatayu and Sampati are brothers (both are human-vulture hybrids) and were flying in the sky. But Jatayu became reckless and started flying too close to the Sun. Sampati tried to save him and in the process, his wings got burnt off and he fell to the ground. So Jatayu was flying too high like Icarus, but it's Sampati who actually pays the price for his little brother and falls. In a way, they both come together to make up Icarus. Also, Sampati doesn't die, although he's never able to fly again.

Hermes/Narada : Both are the messengers of the gods and are extremely cunning and are tricksters and love drama just a liiiiiittle too much.

Orpheus/Savitri : Both are people who's lovers died, both were unable to deal with this, both went to the underworld and pleaded with the god of dead to return their lovers. Only difference is that Savitri was actually successful in getting her husband back.

The trinity/ the trimurti : Both of these are the three "main" or most powerful of the gods. In Hinduism this concept goes even further by saying that the trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are even above the gods.

There are also Hindu counterparts for literally every single Greek god and I can't list them all here. But I really love that in both these mythos, the gods are treated as very flawed and with very human qualities, rather than being absolutely perfect. This just really makes them very accessible according to me. All in all, maybe all polythestic religions just have the same gods in different guises, who knows🤷‍♀️
