BRICS SIGNS DEVELOPMENT DEAL BETWEEN EGYPT AND THE UNITED ARAB EMERATES

A new development deal has been signed between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in a partnership which will see Egypt inject $35 Billion for the UAE to develop the Egyptian town of Ras el-Hekma on the country's northern Mediterranean coast.

BRICS countries have been forging several new partnerships, with the latest deal expected to see Egypt shelling out $15 Billion in next week, and another $20 Billion over the next two months, to see the UAE develop the Egyptian town of Ras el-Hekma to International standards equivalent to what the UAE has used to develop several cities in its own territory.

BRICS supporters are hailing the new deal as a sea-change, expected to usher in a new era of bilateral trade and development projects using local currencies, which they say could see the US Dollar's trade dominance and status as the world's reserve currency to diminish in the coming years.

The new development project will see the UAE develop Egypt's coastal town of Ras el-Hekma to the same standards the UAE has used on its own cities, which is expected to change the way the town looks and operates under over the coming years.

DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS STEP 3 .

This week was all about learning and finding resources. After several attempts to design something on my own and failing, I became discouraged. However, I quickly had to decide which scene from the storyboard I wanted to model and illustrate.

I chose to design the robot from the story, whose original concept was inspired by the transformation of music into gramophone records. Through the twists and turns in the story, this robot evolves into a well-known musician.

For my other project, which was set in a science fiction environment, I decided to design a spaceship and spend the rest of my time focusing on sculpting.

Development Projects - Final Thoughts and Reflection

Over this semester, I feel that I have progressed so much in not only my 3D art but my confidence in my own work and justifying my decisions to a group of people. Before starting this course, I was very set on certain art styles and wouldn’t branch out past that. I have since experimented with as many art styles as I could over the semester period and have even found a new style that I enjoy working with so much more. My knowledge of different software has expanded and I picked up new tools I never worked with previously and probably wouldn’t have considered using on my own, like switching from Maya to Blender for character sculpting. While I still have a long way to go with learning all of the tools and how to apply them to my work, I am confident with the basics and know that this will continue to grow with my practice over the upcoming semesters.

When looking at my finished development pieces, I can see so much progression from my weekly tasks to the finished development pieces. Although I had some time problems from a nasty illness, I was still able to work around the problems this caused and continued to make a piece that I feel reflects my practice as a whole even if it wasn’t my original plan. I think my use of different software for rendering options is a huge improvement to the overall quality of my renders, and I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from my turntable videos. As for my experience with texturing, I think my overall workflow has significantly improved and I have a stronger knowledge of what I’m doing.

For future improvements, I do have a few things I want to address in my next semester to see how this further improves my practice. I would like tom focus on proper optimisation techniques and the best ways to use retopology and baking to make high poly meshes low poly. I think this is my next big step in the progression of my practice now that I feel overall more confident in my modelling skills. I would also like to spend some extra time researching ideal UV unwrapping techniques to push these skills further, because I don’t know the best ways to optimise and create a clean UV map. Obviously a major downfall for my work was time management, so this is something I will be consistently keeping up with to try and avoid any significant losses from unexpected life events.

Even though I had planned many more assets and detailed textures, I regret I could not finish everything in the timeframe of the assignments. I have rendered my progress so far for the submission but I'll complete this project for the portfolio presentation.

Reflecting back on my process, I believe I could have managed time more efficiently. I should have optimized my workflow by not spending more than the allotted time for every stage of the process. I will take these learnings and work on them for the next semester and my upcoming projects.

This semester has been an incredible learning experience for me. I gained a wealth of knowledge about the AAA pipelines in the game industry. I became familiar with Unreal Engine 5 and was able to utilize its real-time lighting features, something I had never done before. Throughout my journey, I learned to use several new software programs, including Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, and some aspects of Unreal Engine 5. There's still much more to learn, and I believe there’s always room for improvement. I will carry this inspiration with me into the next semester.

DEVELOPMENT PRROJECTS STEP 2

I wasn’t sure where to start with my project. The mindset of creating everything from scratch, with my own concepts and designs, is something that architecture has instilled in me. I can’t just find a resource online and model it; it has to be my own design, though I know that’s not always the best approach, and I’m trying to change that. I felt that for my project, I needed to write a scenario that would involve both a character and a space, covering both of my projects. So, I picked up my pen and wrote a short story.

The story takes place in 1970, in one of the states of America. A married couple lives together in a house and they are deeply in love. The man is a young and motivated inventor, spending most of his time at work. The woman, on the other hand, is often alone at home, and their emotional connection has started to fade due to their distance.

In an attempt to rekindle their love, the man decides to surprise his wife for their wedding anniversary by giving her a special gift. He spends a great deal of time at his workplace building a robot that, whenever it hears music, will move towards it, listen to it, and transform it into gramophone CDs. This way, his wife could enjoy her favorite music while he was away. He brings the robot home and presents it as a gift to his wife. The robot can create gramophone CDs from the music playing on the television or from the loud music of the neighbors.

When the wife receives the gift, their life begins to regain color and warmth. She becomes more cheerful and lively. After a while, the wife asks her husband to improve the robot and add the capability for it to play the music it hears. Gradually, the robot becomes more intelligent, evolving into a skilled musician and composer. When the wife is alone at home, the robot plays and creates music for her, helping her fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a singer. She had lacked the confidence to pursue this dream, but with the robot’s support, she begins to prepare for it.

The husband, who has become even more absorbed in his work, and is now more distant than ever, grows colder in his relationship with his wife. He, a passionate nerd, falls in love with a male coworker who is also a brilliant inventor. He leaves his wife. Devastated and lonely, the wife is helped by the robot to heal. The robot assists her in releasing her anger and sadness by singing and yelling, helping her to bloom as a singer. Over time, the robot falls in love with her.

The robot becomes an extraordinary musician, and the wife becomes an incredible singer. Together, they hold concerts, and they grow increasingly famous. The robot, filled with love, composes romantic music, and the woman sings it with passion. However, something strange happens: the music created by the robot carries an extraordinary emotional intensity. These romantic songs cause the most handsome and famous Hollywood actor to fall in love with the woman, and he proposes to her. The woman, in turn, falls in love with him, and they marry.

The robot, witnessing this, becomes depressed and no longer creates music as it once did. The woman and her new husband decide to move to Hollywood. They pack up their house, put everything up for sale, and place the robot in a box. The robot spends a long time in the box, sinking deeper into depression and anger.

One day, when the woman and her husband come to sell the house, the robot emerges from the box, sits behind the piano, and creates the saddest music it can. Hearing this music, the man and the woman feel as though their hearts stop. They are overcome with a deep sadness, and the man shoots himself, while the woman jumps from the window. It seems as though anyone who listens to this music is compelled to end their life. The robot records the music and burns it onto gramophone CDs, sending it out to the world to exact its revenge on everyone.
