Hi, DGM fandom! I'm jeidafei. You may have seen me in Kougeki-scans' scanlation of D.Gray-Man.
I know Kougeki releases have been delayed for these past few chapters. And people have taken to releasing their own translations on Reddit and MangaDex as early as a few days after the Japanese release. We at Kougeki have asked people to wait if they could. People have told us to, basically, go d*e.
And of course, you are perfectly entitled to say so. You are perfectly entitled to release your own translations and not wait. After all, we at Kougeki are just fans of D.Gray-Man, similar to you. We have zero claim over the series.
I normally stay out of the fray when it comes to quarrels with these 'snipers' until now. When I saw the quality of the translations some of these people are putting out.
(Specifically, Chapter 250 on MangaDex)
Japanese is a difficult language. D.Gray-Man is a difficult manga to translate due to its ongoing status, complex nature and plot twists. I have made mistakes myself that others have pointed out. I have my own interpretations that might be different. I readily forgive mistakes I understand are due to the complex Japanese grammar, and the confusing mysteries of the D.Gray characters.
But these are not it. These are just blatant laziness and lack of basic knowledge of even the most recent developments in D.Gray-Man. Or even simple logic. These are the results of people dishing out sub-par work quickly just to get the most exposure possible.
So while we wait for Kougeki's version, I am going to point out these egregious mistakes. We need transparency so that going forward, you can make your own decisions on whether it is speed or accuracy you are looking for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original Japanese text says "7,000 years ago" (七千), not "17 years"(十七). A difference any beginner Japanese learner would notice. Even most D.Gray-Man fans without Japanese knowledge would probably realize something is off based on what we know of the story so far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original text says "Do(es) the passion/sentiments run so deep, you must reincarnate into a human who resembles Nea?" (the word 'regret' is simply not there). I think 'passion' or 'sentiments' are more compatible here, considering earlier theories about Tyki, the Noah of Pleasure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jasdevi is saying they were at their limits anyway and wouldn't be able to keep restraining Apocryphos for long. When Wisely orders them to dispose of Apo, they scream "Oni!" (Demon) which is quite similar to "Onii-san" (Elder brother), but most people would probably know which one is more fitting in this scenario, even without Japanese knowledge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Desires asks Wisely if he is just going to set Apo free like that, Wisely explains that this way, Apocryphos (not Desires or Wisely as in the translation), can keep searching for the Heart for them. Again, basic story knowledge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wisely didn't say "Fine, enough already"; this bubble is a continuation of the earlier bubble, spoken by Desires. Together, he is saying "Wouldn't you just spit it out already!?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Japanese, many words sound the same and the meaning can only be determined by context or the Chinese characters (kanji) used. In this case, "kikai" can mean either "machine" (機械) or "opportunity" (機会) or "strange" (奇怪), among a dozen others.
Yes, it's difficult, I know. But, you see the kanji. You know the context. I'm sure you can take a guess.
There are a couple more minor mistakes (ones that don't impact your understanding of the story too much). But I'm just going to leave you with one more, the most conspicuous mistake:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The chapter is named "Curse's End" by this translator. Actually, it's the opposite in Japanese. "Owaranu" is a form of "Owaranai" which means "not ending", which fits the revelation of this chapter by Wisely that their 35-year curse has yet to come to an end.
So, there you have it.
As you can see, I'm not shaming people for not being as fluent in Japanese. Not everyone can dedicate almost two decades to learn a language. As I have pointed out, most of these mistakes are rookie-level, and should have been picked up in double-check if that someone is familiar with D. Gray-Man at all. With these nigh unforgivable mistakes, even Deepl and Google Translate are more accurate.
This is a matter of someone not giving enough of a sh*t, plain and simple.
I'm also not gatekeeping scanlation whatsoever. I'm just pointing out the mistakes and actual text because the fandom deserves to know. With the localization drama going on, it proves faithfulness to the actual text and accuracy matters.
Of course, anyone has the right to put out their translation. And I have the right to point out whether they can be trusted. I'm not passing judgment. I'm just providing evidence so the bystanders can decide for themselves.
Lastly, from the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who has supported the work of Kougeki Scans and waited for our release. I apologize for the delays. We're working on the latest chapter and will release 249 and 250 very, very soon.

Strange house - DGM doujin fangame guide book scans
so in January I found a physical copy of a 2010 d.gray-man doujin visual novel called Strange house by the doujin group MOONLIGHT CAFE. the game is a romance visual novel where you play as Lavi and can date Kanda while out on a mission with him to, you guessed it, a strange house.
the game is completely in Japanese and almost all mention of it online has gone away as it's a 14 year old game, so suffice to say finding anything about this game has been difficult. it won't be a complete mystery now though as I have the game and the guide book!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so... let's look inside this guide book!
before we crack it open, here's the scans of the DVD cover slip. the outside is similar to the guide book (see above) but the inside is an adorable collection of chibis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now let's look at the guide book! all of these scans are at a high dpi so open them up in a new tab if you'd like to see them up close. also, most of this is in Japanese and I won't be able to translate a majority of it. if you'd like to translate it, please feel free to and add it to the post!
Tumblr media
D.Gray-man LaviYu Only
Windows only sound novel type adventure game
(side note- visual novels are usually called adventure games in Japan. sound novel is another term for them that was more popular to use years ago)
Tumblr media
The next two pages go over the system menus- the main menu, the CG gallery (where you can view cut scene artwork), in game menu, save & load, and the options menus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that we've gone over the system, it's on to the character bios! Lavi is up first as he's the player character followed by Kanda and the finder Doma.
Tumblr media
(somehow Kanda ends up in a bridal gown in this game)
Tumblr media
(she has doll arms and legs? it says she's the other guy's sister)
Tumblr media
(I have no clue what her name is suppose to be. Yuno Moreta? Yunoo Moreeta?? I'm guessing it's trying to be like Yu Kanda??? Allen's bio here mentions him being the 14th and that he doesn't appear much as he wasn't assigned to this mission)
Tumblr media
(Lenalee's basically says that she's an exorcist and Komui's younger sister, but mentions that she might be seen on the mission in front of Lavi? the guy on the right was apparently meant to be something like a love rival in the MVP [think beta build] for the game)
Tumblr media
after the character bios is the route guides!
while not every visual novel has choices or multiple endings, visual novels that do have multiple endings refer to them as "routes" or "scenarios", i.e. the series of choices you make to reach each ending. this game has 4 routes, each with a different artist.
Tumblr media
scenario A is called Dolly and written by 響夜 and illustrated by Guriko.
Tumblr media
scenario B is called Coming Home and written by 響夜 and illustrated by Seiko and others.
Tumblr media
scenario C is.... something about a bracelet? it's written by 秋吉 and illustrated by Bonnu.
Tumblr media
scenario D is called lonely travels / loneliness while traveling and is written by 木花 and illustrated by ネコ科ノコ.
to be honest this is a lot more than I was expecting! we're already at 7 team members and haven't touched the programming or music aspects. I also have no clue how long this game is - there's only a few choices listed here to get each route so each ending could be 5k words (short) or over 50k words (long).
Tumblr media
now onto staff!
sadly, I won't be able to translate these as it's a majority kanji, but here they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that's it! there's a lot of cute art here that I hope will be saved on the internet now that the sites for MOONLIGHT CAFE's games are mostly defunct.
personally as a visual novel developer I find it amazing that they were able to not only make such a good looking fan visual novel in 2010 with multiple endings but to get so many people on board and make it all work out. and then to make a physical release of it! (side note- I'm still unsure what engine this was made in! I'm thinking kirikiri but I'm not sure)
I have the game set up and am able to play it, so at some point I'll share some footage of it on this tag on my blog. I'm hesitant to put the exe online as this was a paid game at one point and the doujin circle seems to be disbanded, but I might if there's interest (is this considered a no-no for doujins? I'm unfamiliar on etiquette for doujins, so some advice on that would be appreciated if you have any)

yohoo for the writing game!! how about Lavi (dgm) and 95?
have a good night:))
AAAA the way i screamed bcos lavi <3333333 i gotchu!
ur lucky prompt is this: “You came all the way here for me?” and its 872 words long! there're no warnings, it's a fluffy sort of confession thingy. there's the usual "lavi is bookman" angst tho!
it kinda ran from me ngl..... i wrote three different scenarios before i settled on this one, i really hope u like it <!!!!33333 and i hope you have a good night as well, im sending you smoochies and berries!
send me an ask with a random number between 1-210 and a character and i'll write you a little story!
Tumblr media
Lavi’s sitting on the edge of the roof, legs dangling hazardously, swinging like he isn’t too many floors up and could possibly plummet to his death at any given moment if gravity and wind worked together to will his untimely end.
It doesn’t seem to matter much to him, as his mind is busy with other things, head rested in his palm, emerald eye searching the wide landscape in front of him for answers.
His question has all the answers he needs – he just doesn’t like those answers. Maybe Mother Nature will provide him some new ones if he stares at her fleeting canvas for long enough. At least, that’s what he’s banking on.
He’s in love with you.
He didn’t realize until he’d returned alive from Noah’s Ark and finally seen your face again after what had felt like the longest mission of his life. Your radiant smile welcoming him home, helping him to the cod where he was to rest after Miranda finally released her Innocence.
He’d dreamt about you in the Infirmary. So much so that he was afraid he might’ve said your name out loud and someone might’ve heard. What if they had? He’s Bookman Junior, he can’t have attachments. Emotions.
There’s no future for the two of you.
That’s what he’s been telling himself non-stop, willing his heart into forgetting the way your eyes closed slightly when you laughed or the way you fidgeted with your hands when ordering your food from Jeryy.
He hears footsteps approaching but pays them little mind, assuming it’s Bookman who’s coming to chastise him for spending his time idly. In the back of his mind he does wonder who’d come all the way out here, to the tower at the southeast corner where nothing or no one really lingers of the Order.
When you clear your throat, he registers the uniform out of the corner of his eye and recognize it immediately to be yours, losing balance from the panic of you being so close without warning. He falls forward and you catch his left arm, laughing airily at him, “be careful.” You tut, as you dust off your thighs and sit down next to him.
“What brings ya here?” he asks, trying to bring a smooth and confident smile to his face but he’s not sure how well he succeeds. You smile and tilt your head in confusion, “to be with you, of course.”
“You came all the way here for me?” he asks, a mix of disbelief and astonishment in his voice. You laugh again and gently take his hand into yours. If you notice the way he flinches at the contact, you don’t say anything as you squeeze it, “obviously, Lavi.”
Silence settles between you, but it’s not uncomfortable. Your hand is still wrapped around his and he tries to will his heart to calm down. He knows the answer deep in his heart, even if he was out here seeking others.
You inhale sharply before you open your mouth, “I know you’re a Bookman in training,” there’s a pause before you turn to face him, “but I’m in love with you. I just wanted you to know that. You can do what you will with that information.”
If Lavi didn’t know you any better, he’d say you were incredibly calm about professing your love to someone but as you reminded him, he’s a Bookman. He’s memorized every tidbit information you’ve ever shown the world and he can see how tense you really are. The sharp line to your mouth, the slightly-but-not-completely furrowed brows, and the determination in your eyes, preparing yourself for rejection.
You’re not as good as Lavi at memorizing details on people, especially the small ones they can barely control themselves but you know that Lavi’s reaction isn’t one of his more controlled, proper ones. His cheeks are dyed red, going all the way down his throat and all the way to the tip of his ears. His mouth is stuck in a tight, wobbly line and his eye is as wide as it can go. You try to hold back a giggle at the man in front of you. You’ve just never seen him so caught off-guard.
He opens and closes his mouth a few times, seemingly trying to taste his words before letting them out. A single swear word ends up leaving instead, making you unable to hold back your laughter, leaning forward as you laugh. You abruptly stop when you suddenly feel his hand by your chin, lifting up your head and catching your eyes with his. He’s beautiful like this, you absentmindedly think as you can’t help staring at him like he hung the stars just for you. with a shaky breath he leans forward and you slowly close your eyes as he comes closer.
Your lips collide and he lets out a deep sigh, one that indicates that he’s been thinking about this for just as long and deeply as you have. You press closer to him, and the grip he’s gotten on your uniform jacket tightens, pulling you impossibly closer.
He’ll figure it out. He’ll find his own answers because this, this is what heaven feels like, he decides.

LOTO.
By Manoj Kumar([email protected]/+91–8252771261).
I was familiar with LOTO Procedure from my first company”Alstom Projects India Limited”. Lots of training literature, books and online and offline courses provided by Alstom. Second time I was once again selected for doing job as an EHS Officer from Noida,Sector-65 desk under construction manager Shri Ashutosh Garg sir ,Shri Yogish Ojha(EHS-DGM) & Shri Yogesh Srivastava Sir(Country Head-Alstom). Third time was selected from same desk from Shri Yogesh Srivastava Srivastava Sir(Country Head,EHS,Alstom),Shri Pradipta Kumar Nandi Sir(DGM-EHS,Alstom) for S1 Project. Our Principal Employer was Power Grid Corporation Limited. It was an extension project. I joined at Bhinmal(Rajasthan),Amritsar(Chabba),Kartarpur(Jalandhar),Jind(Haryana),Kaithal(Haryana).
Lets talk about a topic of LOTO.
Importance of LOTO:
Safety devices such as barrier guards or guarding devices are installed on systems to maintain worker safety while these systems are being operated. When activities such as maintenance, repair, or set-up; or the removal of jams, clogs or misaligned feeds are performed, these safety devices may be removed if there are other controls in place to reduce or eliminate the hazards.
Having a lockout/tag out program and procedures for these scenarios will reduce the risk of injury due to the unintended or inadvertent release of hazardous energy.
Purpose of LOTO:
Identify the types of:
Hazardous energy in the workplace
Energy-isolating devices
De-energizing devices
Guide the selection and maintenance of protective devices, hardware, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assign duties and responsibilities
Describe lockout procedures for all machines, equipment, and processes
Determine shutdown, de-energizing, energizing, and start-up sequences
Describe training requirements for authorized and affected workers
Be audited for effectiveness
An effective lockout/tag out program will help prevent:
Contact with a hazard while performing tasks that require the removal, by-passing, or deactivation of safeguarding devices.
The unintended release of hazardous energy (including stored energy).
The unintended start-up or motion of machinery, equipment, or processes.
Responsible for the lockout program.
Each party in the workplace has a responsibility in the lockout program. In general:
Management is responsible for:
Drafting, reviewing, and updating lockout procedures and program.
Identifying the employees, machines, equipment, and processes included in the program.
Providing the necessary protective equipment, hardware and appliances.
Monitoring and measuring conformance with the program.
Supervisors are responsible for:
Distributing protective equipment, hardware, and any appliance; and ensuring its proper use by employees.
Making sure that equipment-specific procedures are established for the machines, equipment and processes in their area.
Making sure that only properly trained employees perform service or maintenance that require lockout.
Making sure that employees under their supervision follow the established lockout procedures where required.
Authorized individuals are responsible for:
Following the procedures that have been developed.
Reporting any problems associated with those procedures, the equipment, or the process of locking and tagging out.
Lockout procedures and work instructions:
An organization will have one overall lockout program; however for each unique machine or equipment, there will be a detailed procedure or work instruction that describes the steps to control the hazardous energy.
The written lockout procedure should specify:
The specific machine, equipment, or process involved in the shutdown and isolation process.
The hazardous energy present and the type of energy-isolating or de-energizing devices required.
Where the lockout devices are required and how they are installed.
The steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking, securing, and relieving stored or residual energy.
The steps for placing and removing all lockout devices.
How the isolation can be verified.
How others in the area will be informed of the lockout and the return into service.
Basic steps of locking and tagging out:
Lockout and tag out processes involve more than putting a lock on a switch. They are comprehensive step-by-step processes that involve communication, coordination, and training.
General steps of a lockout/tag out procedure include:
1. Prepare for Shutdown
The authorized person will identify the machine, equipment, or process that requires lockout, which sources of energy are present and must be controlled, and what lockout device will be used. This step involves gathering all required equipment (e.g., lockout devices, tags, etc.).
2. Notify all Affected Personnel
The authorized person will communicate the following information to notify affected persons:
What is going to be locked/tagged out.
Why it is going to be locked/tagged out.
For approximately how long the system be unavailable.
Who is responsible for the lockout/tag out, if not themselves.
Who to contact for more information.
This information should also be present on the tag required for the lockout.
3. Equipment Shutdown
Follow shutdown procedures (either established by the manufacturer or employer). Equipment shutdown involves ensuring controls are in the off position, and verifying that all moving parts such as flywheels, gears, and spindles have come to a complete stop.
4. Isolation of System (De-energization)
Follow the lockout procedure for the identified machine, equipment, or process. Review the following isolation practices for various forms of hazardous energy:
Electrical energy — Switch electrical disconnects to the off position. Visually verify that the breaker connections are in the off position. Lock the disconnects into the off position. NOTE: Only disconnect switches or breakers that you are trained or authorized to do so, especially at high voltages.
Hydraulic and pneumatic potential energy — Set the valves in the closed position and lock them into place. Bleed off the energy by slowly opening the pressure relief valves. Some procedures for pneumatic energy control may require that pressure relief valves be locked in the open position. Some procedures for hydraulic energy, for example in lifting devices, may require blocking.
Figure 2: Hydraulic and pneumatic lockout
Mechanical potential energy — Carefully release energy from springs that may still be compressed. If this is not feasible, block the parts that may move if there is a possibility that the spring can transfer energy to it.
Gravitational potential energy — Use a safety block or pin to prevent the part of the system that may fall or move.
Chemical energy — Locate chemical supply lines to the system and close and lockout the valves. Where possible, bleed lines and/or cap ends to remove chemicals from the system.
5. Dissipation (Removal) of Residual or Stored Energy
In general, examples include:
Electrical energy — To find a specific method to discharge a capacitor for the system, contact the manufacturer for guidance. Many systems with electrical components, motors, or switch gears contain capacitors. Capacitors store electrical energy. In some cases, capacitors hold a charge and may release energy very rapidly. In other cases, capacitors are used to remove spikes and surges to protect other electrical components. Capacitors must be discharged in the lockout process in order to protect workers from electrical shock.
Hydraulic and pneumatic potential energy — Setting the valves in the closed position and locking them into place only isolates the lines from more energy entering the system. In most cases, there will still be residual energy left in the lines as pressurized air or fluid. This residual energy can be removed by bleeding the lines through pressure relief valves. Verify depressurization or use flange-breaking techniques. Contact the manufacturer for more specific details, or if no pressure relief valves are available, what other methods are available.
Gravitational potential energy — If possible, bring the equipment or machine to ground level.
Chemical energy — If available, bleed lines and/or cap ends to remove chemicals from the system.
6. Lockout/Tag Out
When the system’s energy sources are locked out, there are specific guidelines that must be followed to make sure that the lock cannot be removed, and the system cannot be inadvertently operated. These guidelines include:
Each lock should only have one key (no master keys are allowed).
All keys must be removed from locks and kept with the person who applied the lock.
There should be as many locks on the system as there are people working on it. For example, if a maintenance job requires 3 workers, then 3 locks should be present — each of the individuals must place their OWN lock on the system. Locks can only be removed by those who installed them and should only be removed using a specific process (See № 09 Points).
7. Verify Isolation
Verify that the system is properly locked out before beginning any work. Verification can take place in several ways:
The machine, equipment, or process controls (push buttons, switches, etc.) are engaged or activated and the result is observed. No response means isolation is verified. Return controls to the safe position (off).
Visual inspection of:
Electrical connections to make sure they are open.
Suspended parts are lowered to a resting position or blocked to prevent movement.
Other devices that restrain machine or process movement.
Valve positioning for double block and bleed (for pipes or ducts) — closing two valves of a section of a line, and then bleeding (or venting) the section of the line between the two closed valves.
Presence of solid plate used to absolutely close a line — called line blanking (for pipes or ducts).
Any other acceptable method of energy isolation.
Testing of the equipment:
Test circuitry (should be done by a certified electrician) — Note: equipment with capacitors needs to be cycled until all energy is drained.
Check pressure gauges to make sure hydraulic and pneumatic potential energy has been removed.
Check temperature gauges to make sure thermal energy has been discharged.
Choose the method that will make sure that the energy to the system has been isolated without creating other hazards during the verification.
8. Perform Maintenance or Service Activity
Complete the activity that required the system to be locked out.
9. Remove Lockout/Tag out devices
To remove locks and tags from a system that is now ready to be put back into service, the following general procedure can be used:
Inspect the work area to make sure all tools and items have been removed.
Confirm that all employees and persons are safely located away from hazardous areas.
Verify that controls are in a neutral position.
Remove devices in the opposite order in which they were installed and re-energize the system.
Notify affected employees that servicing is completed.
#N.B.: It is good practice to make sure any individual who placed a lock on the system should also be present when the system is re-started. This practice helps make sure those employees working on the system are not in a hazardous area when the machine is restarted.

Hello Ross, I absolutely love your writing 😭 FHMTH and your bonten universe fics have been my main source of serotonin the past few months. Absolutely no rush at all- but do you think chapter 10 will still come out this week? Thank you for everything you do 😭 Also side note- who would win in a fight? DOTGITM Rindou? Or FHMTH Shuji? 😂
that is such an incredible compliment thank you so much!! wishing you all the serotonin because we deserve it!
and...i failed. i'm so sorry 😢 basically, i still have 9k to edit and got sick, which threw me off. i'm also applying for jobs, which is keeping me away from writing as much. i'll get this chapter out next week for sure but this sickness really pushed my timeline. Again.
now, who would win between those two versions of rindou and hanma?!?!? that is a fascinating question. i think DGM Rindou is probably a better fighter. he's big into mma, trains constantly. but hanma fights SO DIRTY.
the only two scenarios where these two would fight is a) an informal sparring session at the gym, where hanma would probably do something completely illegal and lose on default but also technically beat rindou's ass or b) a serious, we're trying to kill each other fight, where rindou would just shoot hanma dead so...🤷 i guess it depends.

For the writing asks: 2, 22 for your Bridal Shop AU (because I was thinking of it last night aaa 💖), and 26? 👀
Ooo! Thanks for sending this one in!
2 - Has your writing changed over time?
Definitely. If you read my earlier works, you can see how my writing evolved. I'm not 100% how to describe it. All I know is that it's gotten much better the more I've written.
22 - If you had to assign a theme song to the Three's a Crowd series, what would it be?
Good question! I think I'm gonna be sappy and say Sheryl Crow's Light In Your Eyes.
26 - Is there a specific scene or scenario you’re looking forward to most? (No, you don’t have to give away spoilers!)
Oh hell yes. XD I've been working on my DGM Omegaverse Sexting fic (tentatively titled The Chemicals Between Us). The main ship is Lavi x Tyki and I'm just dying to write more spicy scenes between them (especially when Lavi goes into heat).

Moments: You look great
Tyki Mikk x Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
[Name] stormed into the room. Her cheeks and nose red, the tears had left their mark on her face.
"[Name]" Eez rushed to her, "what happened?"
"Not now." Without even looking at him, the teen headed out to the bathroom. She slammed the door so hard, it shook the windows, and just stood there.
The three adults looked at each other, ecstatic. They lowered the cards, not sure what to do until at last, all eyes were on Tyki.
“Me?”
Three heads nodded in sync.
He sighed in uncertainty and got up.
Knocked on the door five times, repeating a special rhythm that only the two of them used.
“I'm sorry, I promise I'll be out soon,” [Name] said quietly.
“Are you okay?” Tyki leaned against the corridor wall. "They reject you?"
A dry, short, sarcastic laugh came from the other side of the door. “They laughed in my face, they wouldn't even let me try.”
"I'm very sorry to hear that."
“Not true.” [Name] opened the door. “You never agreed to this in the first place,” she accused.
“You know? That doesn’t mean I enjoy your public humiliation.”
With a clean face and her anger appeased, she went to her room with the idea of shutting herself in there, without moving for the rest of the day, but before she could slam another door, Tyki stopped her.
“May I?”
“What for?”
“Be with you,” he replied. “I don't want to leave you alone, that's all.”
“No,” she said expressionless and started to close the door again.
“Okay, but can I know why?”
[Name] 's face distorted a bit. “It's just… I” She rubbed her face trying to shake the irritation away. “I’m upset. I want to be upset, even a little more... And you just… “She moved her hand trying to find the right words, “you make it hard.”
Tyki crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe. With a raised eyebrow he asked, “Do I make it hard?"
“Yes! You do. It's very hard for me to be in a bad mood if you’re around, okay?” She said feeling suddenly small. “Being with you always makes me feel better and right now I just want to be upset.”
Tyki saw touched how a light pink painted her cheeks.
“Okay, if you want to be an emo teen, there’s nothing I can do about it.” He rubbed her head fondly.
Before she closed the door, Tyki managed to catch a flash of a smile on her lips. Inevitably a sense of triumph fulfilled his chest.
He didn't want to admit it but he liked the power he had over her. He was proud to make her smile when no one else could, that he was the one with whom she decided to be vulnerable and that she preferred his company over anyone else - without counting Eez, he never wanted to count Eez-.
Needless to say, [Name] had the inconvenient gift of feeding his ego way too easily. She just had to open her mouth and he would feel like the best man on the planet. That was dangerous.
“So? How is she?”
Tyki shrugged. "Upset."
Momo sighed. "I thought so."
Eeez looked worriedly at [Name]’s door.
"Why didn't they accept her?" He asked sadly. He had seen her struggle for the entrance exam, he had a hard time believing that she could have had it wrong.
The three adults looked at each other uncomfortably.
"Well," Tyki rubbed the back of his neck. “Women aren’t allowed into college.”
“What? Why?”
“Honestly, I don't know.”
The child, not satisfied with the answer, got up and carefully approached her room.
"She said she wanted to be alone. You may want to wait for a little bit.”
He looked at Tyki, then at the door, once again at Tyki, and finally knocked.
“Who is it?” [Name] asked unwillingly.
"Me" Eez's innocent voice replied, “may I come in? Please?”
[Name] only let out a grunt that the child take as a yes.
Tyki lifted his eyebrows. "Hey…”
Eez rushed in and closed behind him.
He saw the teenager lying on the bed in a star position. "Can I sleep with you tonight?" [Name] nodded. “You know? Tyki doesn't think it's fair that you let me stay and not him.
“Really?”
He shook his blond hair. “Mhm. I think he hasn't realized that I'm your actual favorite.”
[Name] smiled. "Shh. Don’t tell. Let him dream.”
“How do you feel?” Eez snuggled against her.
[Name] sighed looking at the ceiling. "Frustrated, I guess. I think that despite knowing that they weren’t going to take me, I had a fraction of hope and that's what bothers me now.”
Not knowing what to say, Eez hugged closer to her. “I’m sorry.”
[Name] patted his arm affectionately. "Don't be, it's not your fault." She looked at him and ran her fingers through his hair in a reassuring gesture. “I don't even know why they have such a problem with it. I don't think they wouldn’t even-
[Name] interrupted herself, staring at the blonde kid, making him a bit uncomfortable.
“They wouldn’t even...?”
[Name] didn't answer, she just kept running her fingers through the short strands.
“They wouldn’t even notice.”
[Name] appreciated her long hair in the gnawed little mirror one last time. She could see Tyki's hand on her shoulder.
“You sure kiddo?” The Portuguese asked with a hint of concern.
“Yeah. I don't lose anything, right?”
“No, I guess you don’t.”
Tyki took a lock of her hair within his fingers and brought the scissors close slowly enough to give her time to stop him.
She didn't.
After a while, Momo was sweeping the floor and [Name] had finished taking a shower. She returned to the small mirror to appreciate the new cut and, once again, saw Tyki's hand on her shoulder.
"This brings back memories," he said, giving her his glasses.
"That’s true," [Name] acknowledged whit a smile as she put on the glasses. “So? What ya’ think?
Tyki put a hand on his chin and examined her. He watched from that t-shirt that she had long ago stolen from him to those pants with the undone knees, the new cut, and his glasses hiding her features.
He wasn't convinced at first, but seeing her like this, he thought that it might work. He wouldn't say that she looked like the most masculine man, but there were pretty boys, and among them, she would go unnoticed.
“You look great.”

May I request a scenario where Kanda does the little actions to show he cares about his s/o?
Tumblr media
Kanda was resting when he realized his soulmate was actually asleep. He adjusted ever so slowly to get his arm free. After pulling the blanket over their body, he felt his gaze fixated on the gentle expression that they had. With all the stress of the exorcist life, Kanda always loved to see his soulmate's face unburdened.
Distantly he noted his stomach was rumbling. Then he wondered if they too we're hungry? It became his new mission to get food. But how to get up without disturbing his peaceful angel? With the grace of a spider, he slowly stretched each limb out and over the edge of the bed. He felt silly, but all his concentration could manage was not disturbing his soulmate.
At last, after several minutes, he was off the bed and standing while they remained at peace. Faster than he managed such, he returned with food. The aroma instantly woke his soulmate and Kanda smiled at the adorable face peaking over the blanket at him.
"Hungry?" He spoke softly and held the food out. His soulmate sat up and wrapped the blanket around themselves.
"And cold," they murmured and gratefully took the food. Kanda took the chance to slide in under the blanket and cuddle his soulmate from behind, occasionally letting them feed him a few bites of food.

DGM Scenario
Sparring with Kanda
You walked the dark halls of the Order, trying to contemplate who would be the best to ask this question that had been swirling in your head. The last encounter with an Akuma had highlighted your faults to a painful degree, as you had nearly been killed because of them. Since your Innocence was an equipment-type, you found it difficult to control and your battle stance suffered. You wanted to get better, to train and to become less of a burden on the battlefield, but to do that you needed help. Someone to train you, or at least give you pointers and the names of different exorcists in the Order racked your brain. “Who could I ask?” you wondered, everyone seemed so busy that you worried you would be a annoyance.
You were lost in thought when you realized where you were. You looked around to see several members exercising and abusing dummy targets, but your eye was especially drawn to the swordsman furthest from the others. Kanda and Marie were sparring again and you stepped closer to observe, their fluid movements were difficult to follow but despite their graceful flow, each strike carried deadly precision. You remained rooted to the spot watching them and when they lowered their stances and parted, you found yourself running towards the swordsman, “Kanda!”
He whipped around with a indifferent expression that slowly soured into one of annoyance, “Hm? What do you want?” his tone was not exactly harsh but it was stern and to the point. You hesitated, Perhaps this is a bad idea, you thought. Kanda’s short-temper didn’t exactly give you the notion that he’d be a good teacher but you had already spoken so you squared your shoulders and straighten your back, “I’d like you to spar with me!”
His expression morphed into one of faint surprise, his eyes narrowing as he put a hand to his hip, “No. Go ask someone else. Go ask beansprout, after all he’ll go easy on your useless ass.” He turned on his heel and began to walk away, you had to steel you nerve, put your foot down. “I don’t want someone to go easy on me, I want to learn to be better, not have my hand held! Spar with me!”
At that he turned, an amused smirk tugging at his lips and he walked away without a word. “Dammit!” you cursed, angry that you had been denied and remained there trying to decide what to do when a movement from the corner of your eye drew your attention. You looked up in time to see a practice sword being thrown to you and you caught it by the handle, scanning the room to see Kanda wielding one similar.
“Fine! But don’t cry when I kick your ass and don’t think for a second this means I’m your friend.” He holds up the sword so you can see, “When we’re on this floor, I’m your enemy.” He doesn’t give you the chance to answer before he’s lunging forward, sword drawn into a swing. You barely managed to dodge the blow and you skid away out of reach, gripping the sword he gave you with determination. “Of course!.”
Hours later, you’re resting in the common room, sore and covered in bruises. You were utterly exhausted and it hurt to move as you lean forward to adjust yourself. The sound footsteps growing closer causes you to turn, which you immediately regret as the injuries from the match ache in protest. You see Kanda walking towards you with a small platter in his hands which he sets on the table in front of you. On it is a small tea kettle and cup, along with small folded packets which you assume is medicine.
He steps back, crossing his arms, “Drink it for the pain.” His expression was slightly amused, “I’ll have to say you’re not entirely worthless. My aim was to break a bone or two but you somehow managed to escape with only bruises.” He watched the surprised expression on your face before turning around to leave and you couldn’t help but snicker as he called from behind, “Be there at 8 am sharp tomorrow, wimp. Or I really will break your bones.”

Howard Link in a modern day workplace would definitely be the health and safety (induction) instructor. Giving presentations and scaring the new recruits into realising the importance of good PPE. (Uses a projector with pictures of frequent accidents and never blurs anything out) because, Yknow.....reality.
As the day wears on, the strict blonde eases into the perks of the job, that all food in the cafeteria is discounted and coffee is free on Wednesdays.
He gets you through your paper work and explains the loop holes in your contract. (He's a good guy and will always encourage a fair working environment) - also an ex employee of central agency so of course he knows about your rights.
He's the one you'll go to if you need help ....he's not who you're meant to go to, but you know that he's genuine. He knows the shifts that everyone is working and always has cookies in the draw of his desk.
You can't walk into his office without seeing all the inspirational quotes that he has framed on the wall and you can't forget about the baking Calender that he has on the back of his office door.
Howard link is, the health and safety officer.... And he's here to get you through induction.

Me: *at the grocery store with Allen on a child leash*
Allen: *trying to chew on the leash to free himself*
A random woman: Awwhhhh what a cute kid, how old is he?
Me: *slowly lifts up the leash with the dangling, growling Allen* About 102 months. He's a pure demon spawn from the pits of hell itself.
Allen: *looks at the woman, mid chew, while upside down, even a tiny fang hanging out* *blinks* *growls and continues to chew on his leash*

oHH I STUMBLED ACROSS THIS WONDERFUL BLOG. Could I get scenario of Allen cuddling, when he run away from the order. He is on his own with his girlfriend who join him. KILL ME WITH FLUFFINESS
Allen
“Your room is the last one down the hall,” The receptionist smiled, placing the key on the counter, “Please, enjoy your stay.”
“Thank you,” You watched from the corner of your eyes as Allen smiled, fingers reaching out to take the key, metal scrapping against wood grated at the background of your conscious.
He looked tired. You could tell by the dark circles staining the underside of his eyes. But even so, his hands refused to leave yours, leaving your fingers tangled together. And to be honest…you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You followed him as he led you to the room…a place of temporary solace before the two of you set off again.
When the door finally closed behind you, your tight muscles unraveled and you playfully collapsed on him, groaning with extreme relief. He gasped, back slamming against the door, arm quickly catching you before you fall.
“So tired…”
You could feel the rumbling of his chest as he chuckled, “_____________, the bed’s just over there.”
You peeked into the room. And there it was…the glorious place of comfort filled with clean sheets. Only one problem….it was across the room. You pouted and looked over your shoulder, “Carry me?”
He laughed. And you couldn’t help but to stare. You really like his smile. It seemed to even light up the darkest rooms.
He hauled you up in his arms, princess style. You gasped surprised and the you remembered that Allen was strong even though he had a small frame. You couldn’t help but to giggle at this cheesy gentleman.
He set you down gently on the bed and without hesitation, you grabbed the front of his shirt and playfully yanked him forward. “Wow!” Allen tumbled forward, rolling over you and onto the side of the bed, beside you. His face was one of priceless shock that send you into hysterical laughter and little by little, he joined in too.
“Ahahaha…You’re almost as bad as Lavi!” His eyes twinkled with mirth that you haven’t seen in a while and as the laughter died, your chests were lighter than ever.
You moved closer, fully intent to snuggle up with him and he respond in kind, curling his arms around you and tangling his legs into yours until the distance between the both of you was non-existant.
He exhaled with a sigh as his fingers played around with your hair, in long soothing motions. You could hear his heartbeat beating strongly in his chest, like a comforting lullaby, reminding you that he was still here, still alive, still existing.
The two of you lay there for the rest of the night, talking and whispering about anything and everything until your eyelids grew heavy with sleep and fluttered shut.
“Sweet dreams, ___________” You could feel his lips brushing your forehead before you slipped into the land of dreams.

I'm back with more dgrayman doujin fangame updates! after last time where I found Kanda x Lavi fangame that got a physical edition, I decided to keep digging to find the other games the developer made while waiting for it to come in. well, I've found another!
(if these interest you, I'm going to tag all of these posts as "#dgm fangames")
I was able to find & order a disc for their first dgm fangame, Infinite Melody (also called unendliche Melodie). like before, this game was so old (from 2007!!!) and only in JP that I basically haven't been able to find anything on it. and when I got the disc in...
Tumblr media
...it was a preorder bonus for the game that's just a strategy guide! a bit of a letdown haha, but still interesting nonetheless. (side note: the site I found it on had translated part of the kanji as "attack"- but if you add 本 to the end of it, it suddenly becomes... strategy guide!)
so I loaded it up and found a 16 page pdf by the creator that is a guide for how to play the game. and now I'll share it online for preservation/archival purposes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A bit of a shoddy translation-
Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Rindo, the owner of moonlight cafe. Thank you very much for choosing the sound novel type adventure game "Infinite Melody" produced by our circle!!
They then go on to say that this is their first (?) work for dgm and that they've published several works before (other games?) so they're more familiar with that than making manga. From their experience this game isn't that hard but they wanted to make a strategy guide just incase for the people who didn't want to keep retrying. After that they talk a bit more about the game structure itself- it sounds like Kanda is the main love interest and there are 2 scenarios, one for Allen and one for Lavi. It also sounds like there's a CG gallery in the game.
So, a bit of explanations for those not used to visual novels- in Japan (especially in the 2000s) they were referred to as sound novels or adventure games rather than visual novels (nowadays you'll see them called adventure games). A love interest is a character that's romanceable for you, the player character. A route is a set of choices that leads you down a particular story, usually just meant to signify a specific character- so if you have a game with multiple love interests, then saying "the Kanda route" would mean you're talking about the storyline that happens when you romance Kanda (but "route" is not specific to just romance).
Tumblr media
The next section is character bios! This game is set in modern times with Allen as some sort of apprentice working for a magazine company.
Tumblr media
a brief translation summary-
Allen is a newbie reporter for the music magazine "Asian Music". He heard Kanda's songs over the radio years ago which got him interested, but this turned into disgust the more he learned about Kanda. That doesn't stop him from buying Kanda's new CDs, though. He lives alone in a very cheap apartment.
Tumblr media
Lavi works for an entertainment production company (Rozenkuroitsu? Rosenkreuz?? (????)) and Kanda's manager & music arranger. He's supposed to only be his manager but Kanda insisted on him doing arrangements too. There's more here about Lenalee being the younger sister of the company's president and her and Kanda are childhood friends with Lavi.
(side note- the oval at the top of these says "character [number]" followed by their name, and Lavi's lastname is still listed as Bookman, even in modern times. just a funny little detail)
Tumblr media
Kanda is a singer-songwriter who's very popular- his songs always reach the top of the ranking charts. Despite this, people fixate on his looks when mentioning him. He's currently under a lot of stress due to his increasing workload and his popularity. He's a bully who loves Perrier (the water??), quietness, and the sky.
Tumblr media
top one- Bak Chan (yes, that's Bak!)
Bak is the editor-in-chief for "Asian Music" and Allen's boss. He's old friends with Komui Lee, the president of the studio Kanda and Lavi work at, but he refuses to ask for special interviews because pride (?).
bottom one- Lenalee Lee
Lenalee is the younger sister of Komui, the president of the studio Kanda and Lavi work at. She's also the one who writes the lyrics for Kanda's songs. Her, Lavi, and Kanda are all childhood friends.
Tumblr media
next is a few screenshots of what the game looks like! lots of CGs, too bad we can't see any fully. (a CG is basically cutscene artwork)
Tumblr media
the next section is a quick strategy on how to get the good ending for each route. it looks like this game has a different way of setting it up- usually a "route" is for a love interest, but in this game you're able to play as Allen or Lavi and date Kanda as either of them, so the "routes" are for Allen and Lavi (despite playing as them).
Allen route
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the creator listed some of the important choices in the game and gives a small idea of how to answer them to get the best ending. for players this would be a helpful guide, but for us it'll help us get an idea of what the game covers.
the first choice is set in Kanda's office where you choose a drink. Allen hates alcohol so that's a no-go, but if you remember from Kanda's bio he love Perrier.
the next choice is when Kanda asks Allen out on a date. despite wanting to go, it might be better to decline him so both of you can focus on work.
the next choice is where to take Kanda on his day off. it should be somewhere where Kanda doesn't have to use a microphone (as that's his day job) and somewhere where people won't be staring at him (as he's basically a celebrity).
the last choice is a bit hard for me to understand- the author said they left some of these vague, and this one is basically "Kanda asked me directly!!". maybe it's a love confession? once you reach this part, the creator says you can rest easy (and maybe bully him a bit).
Lavi route
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lavi is Kanda's manager so several of his choices are related to, well, managing Kanda.
his first choice listed is whether or not he should interrupt Kanda and Allen arguing in a room together. even if you might be in the way, Kanda might appreciate you being by his side.
his next choice is about going to Los Angeles (a vacation?). Kanda is Kanda and will be grumpy, but lying to him will make things even worse. (I'm not sure if this is Lavi trying to convince Kanda to go to LA for a vacation or Lavi going alone to LA and Kanda ends up going)
the next choice is Kanda insisting on going back home to Japan. work is important, but Kanda's health is even more important (especially as you're his manager). after persuading him, indulge in what he wants for a bit.
the last choice is.... where should Kanda sit on the plane?? if you made it this far then the creator says you can relax. they say Kanda may be stubborn but he's not a child- you don't have to always take care of him.
Tumblr media
you can play either route in whatever order you want, but if you get the true ending in either route, you'll get bonuses! the creator really encourages you to play both routes.
Tumblr media
this is a mini skit between Lavi and Allen with Kanda interjecting. It's basically Allen and Lavi arguing who Kanda likes more.
last but not least is a final credits page for the doujin circle.
Tumblr media
...and what's that? a new website link? let's check it out!
surprisingly.... the website is still active!!
on the website there's this description for the game, which we already kind of understand from the character bios:
見習い雑誌記者アレンは、メディア嫌いで有名なミュージシャン“神田ユウ”の取材をすることになった。同じく、神田マネージャーのラビは多忙を極める神田の、心労を解消させる方法を模索していた。取材当日、生理的に嫌いだと思っていた神田を前にアレンはとんでもない失言をしてしまう……。 みたいなノリです。詳しくは体験版をお試しください。 最初の選択肢でアレンルート(神アレ)とラビルート(ラビュ)に分かれます。
basically- Allen works as an apprentice reporter who is assigned to interview Kanda, a popular singer who hates reporters. Lavi is Kanda's manager who is trying to find a way to relieve Kanda's stress. on the day of the interview, Allen said something (improper/embarrassing/a slip of the tongue) even though he thought he hated Kanda.
even more surprisingly, there's still a trial file on the website?! I'm not brave enough to download this lzh file right now, but maybe soon once I get an isolated environment... if you press the Trial page and then the first line under the image, there's a lzh file (a type of zip file) you can download. please only do this with virus protection on your computer or in a virtual machine, don't download strange files with no protection!!
Tumblr media
yep, that's about it. I'll be on the lookout for this game's physical release (that's not the guide book haha) and the developer's other games, but I hope this was interesting!
I apologize for the shoddy translations, if you'd like to translate the parts here feel free to add it as a reblog/comment. I've posted every single page from the PDF so there's nothing additional I have. if you have any more info on the developer/doujin circle feel free to add those as well.
or, maybe.... you're brave enough to try the trial version for yourself? 👀

I gotta say
I'm very disappointed that Emilia crushing over Kanda didn't get animated.
Low-key, high-key wanted to hear that voice acted too 🤣
