I wanted to give myself time after watching it. As someone who shipped Diego/Lila/Five since season 2… what they did to me in season 4 sucks ass and was unforgivable.

you're laughing. The umbrella academy's final season destroyed every character's personal growth and semi-healed traumas, left huge plot-holes, completely abandoned some of it's most beloved side characters that were crucial in previous seasons and you're laugh-oh. You're crying. My bad. Go ahead. Let it out. Understandable.

Two mistakes of the universe go for a walk. Despite this, the universe doesn’t chew them up and spit them out. It lets them be. They deserve it, after all.

how luther died still stuck in that house, having failed to live outside it and failed to make it a home

how diego valued the people more than the house, and yet he dies without his mother or children, with a wife and brother who cheated him

how allison spent her life building new families with new homes, but was dragged back to the house she was abused in to die there

how klaus spent almost every day there high or drunk, but once he was sober he died there

how five spent 45 years longing to go home, to feel safe there, but home was where he died

how viktor ran as far as he could from that house but ended up dying there anyway

how lila searched her whole life for family and comfort and belonging, and instead died in a strangers home

The first thing Klaus took from that box was Dave’s dog tags and they just don’t talk about it. Viktor has trouble committing to relationships and this problem is not further elaborated upon. Ray’s abandonment is used as a dig against Allison. Luther seems to have given up searching for Sloane and only mentions her once. Diego and Lila are not content with family life and an unnecessary love triangle is formed between them and Five. The writers absolutely had no interest writing captivating personal drama or stakes for the Hargreeves in their final season.

It could honestly be fun to play with the "is she cheating on me" storyline if Lila wasn't ACTUALLY going to cheat on Diego!!! because the only reason that shit is funny is because she would never do it.

Diogo mistakenly thinking lila is with some other guy when in reality Five and her are just working undercover? Hilarious, no issues at all, the truth comes out at some point and everyone laughs at Diego for being dumb

Diego thinking Lila is cheating with Five, when its actually happening? Cruel. Annoying. No fucking reason to do that when it literally does not affect the plot whatsoever

Me two days ago, a niave child with an innocence I wish I could regain: haha! Diego thinks Lila is cheating on him 'cause he saw her with someone and didn't know it was 5! What a wacky misunderstanding! This is of course, very humorous, because of it's absurdity! Obviously Lila would never cheat on Deigo! Especially not with his brother who is both too old and too young for her, and 5 would never! It's absurd! Haha how funny you got me there writers! Imagine, 5 and Lila! Ha! As if that would ever happen!
