Stay away from those who claim not to want to talk about politics, yet spout their political views whenever convenient -- they will then hide their hypocrisy by regarding their political views as "conventional wisdom", "common sense", "objective fact" (or similar)

Once they do that, it is not time to debate with them but to disengage from them! This goes for whatever your ideology you happen to have ;)

Sometimes I feel better if I just don't. Don't take part in the drama inherent with every social media, don't have an opinion about it, don't even see it. I have more time for hobbies, more time for family and friends, more time for me, period. I feel more creative and less exhausted.

But "drama" includes stuff that I need to know. Things that actually affect me. And I find myself happier but less informed and that's not a good place to be either.

Is there a way to balance it all? Perhaps. I haven't found it yet. Not truly.

"Completely different scenario"

If you ever argue with someone online, and you point out an equivalence of your allegedly bad behaviour to their bad behaviour, they will shoot back with the tired phrase "completely different scenario" (or some variant). They will show that their hypocrisy is justified because it's a "completely different scenario" (rarely stating whatever that CDS is) that is "comparing apples to oranges" when it is the same damn thing!

There is no arguing using reason with these people - simply disengage and move onto something more constructive!
