it’s so funny how my mom got her redemption arc JUST after I moved in with my stepdad

I think it was the realization that “your kids can and will choose to leave you / cut contact if you push them far enough” because all of a sudden this year she’s been like. She actually checks up on me and yells at my stepdad for his unfair treatment towards me and she’s been trying to use preferred names

it’s still so weird to see her in a positive like cause it’s like

i hate her for what she was and I love her for who she’s trying to be. like my friends will be like “your mom is so nice???” But they weren’t there when I had to put up with her #shenanigans
