What do you think would be his potential if Postie were more fame thirsty and would do more or proper promos? HB is the fastest album to reach 7Billion streams. But still he's not a household name and I know a lot of people who don't really know or recognize him but I have seen to bop to at least one of his songs.

This is an interesting question because from what I’ve heard/what I know, Postie does the best with the young male demographic and building a rabid fanbase off that is way more difficult than it is to build off a young female demographic. So idk how much extra promo and teased out roll-out would effect his sales tbh. Even if consider concert sales then I still don’t know how a fanbase would impact that because from what I understand, his concerts usually do well anyway because majority of his songs are hits and people obviously want to go jam out to recognisable bops. I think if he wants to be a household name then he should up his visual game and a cohesive era. Imo the GP knows his hits but they don’t view them to be a part of a single body of work, it’s more like we consume them as a radio hit rather than a hit off ‘so on and so forth’ album. Most people would be able to name 5 Post Malone songs but they wouldn’t be able to name his albums lol

I think it all depends on how you view Postie as an artist tbh. To me, he’s a hip-hop/RnB artist that came around at the right time (aka now when hip-hop/trap music is at its biggest) and makes music with a massive pop crossover appeal. Yes, he is a mainstream act but he’s definitely not a pop musician imo. It’s likely that the label doesn’t consider himself one either and so they don’t promote him like they would a pop artist. Doja Cat was kind of getting that same treatment until ‘Say So’ exploded

So the Grammys are tonight and even though I think they're a scam and I can't believe they snubbed The Weeknd I'm watching so here are my predictions for the categories I like:

I have a feeling Tay will get AOTY and maybe song of the year and Dua'll sweep the other categories.

AOTY: Taylor. Folklore is the best overall album, hands down imo

SOTY: I hope it's Taylor, I love Cardigan so much more than Don't Sart Now, and in terms of songwriting it's just better, but it could go to Dua Lipa. I'm torn on this one

ROTY: I would love it to go to Black Pumas, will prob go to Dua (though it could go to Doja Cat's Say So, the production on that song is amazing)

Pop vocal album: Dua - she definitely deserves to win this category, Future Nostalgia is the best POP album. It's pop perfection.

Pop solo performance: Dua

Pop duo/group: BTS

Rock song/performance: Fiona Apple HAS to win these, FTBC was groundbreaking af. I couldn't believe it wasn't nominated for AOTY. If not her, then Phoebe. (I LOVE Haim to death but I think Fiona's and Phoebe's albums were better)

2021 Grammys Early Predictions

Last week the Grammys submissions started, meaning that music labels can start submiting their artists projects to be nominated and eventually win a Grammy, however this year will be quite tricky since there’s a lot of great music being released. I’ve been quite busy and haven’t had the time to watch any movies or read any comics, since music is the only content that I’ve been able to consume while studying I’ll keep on talking about music til I can re-watch and analyze a movie/comic properly. My predictions are based on the past years, I wish all the great albums/tracks released this year actually got nominated but I now that ain’t happening since the Grammys likes to keep their audience wide and diverse.

This awards a song’s production and impact on the mainstream, knowing how mysogonistic and racist the recording academy judges are, this would probably go to Blinding Lights by The Weeknd, yeah, i know he’s black so that can’t be racist, but that’s exactly what they want you to think so don’t be fooled. Considering how It’s been pretty much the only organic hit this year, it kinda deserves it, the song was performed once on a late night show and had a music video, no gimmicks whatsoever. The song it’s a banger so it kinda deserves it.

This category recognizes genuine hits, it’s basically the category for basic radio, chart toppers, I feel like Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa could easily take the cake, it’s a really simplistic and fun up-beat song that pretty much defines today’s music trends. Everyone has heard this song, It was pretty much unescapable earlier this year. I also think Say So by Doja Cat and Savage by Meghan Thee Stallion could win.

THIS IS SO DIFFICULT. Last year it was pretty obvious imo (Billie won) but It’s kinda crazy how many good albums have been realeased. I would go crazy if it goes to SAWAYAMA or Ungodly Hour, but I feel like this is an easy win for The Weeknd too; What’s funny about After Hours is that many like to pretend they’ve listened to the album and assume it’s a masterpiece because of it’s cover art, it really isn’t that excellent but I guess people assume rather than judge a book by it’s cover.

RINA SAWAYAMA, PERIODT. I won’t change my mind, over the past week I’ve fell in love with her music (she only has one EP and an album) and she literally exudes excellence, she’s fantastic, amazing, spectacular, etc. She’s an actual artist, she creates her music from scratch and balances artistry with mainstream appeal.

Streets has to be top 3! That second verse is ICONIC!

I’d say Wild Beach, Game, Casual, Body Language, Rules, Better Than Me, Addiction, Nunchucks and No Police are up there as well. Imo Doja makes good music and she’s very versatile so she has the ability to hop on all sort of different beats and genres.
