This is more Fuck it than Inspiration while I continue to work on you’re where I wanna go. This past February I saw this sculpture (Eternal Springtime by Rodin) and immediately thought of Buck.

The rooms are seemingly endless, each one flowing seamlessly to the next, winding into new spaces and swallowing him whole with what they contain.

As much as Buck enjoys being around people, specifically his people, he loves this too. Being in a sacred space where the walls are lined with these treasures from the past. Testaments to the ever evolving story of humanity. What they found valuable, shameful, beautiful, abhorrent, worth protecting and preserving.

It feels like worship. Carefully treading on hallowed ground, soaking in the colors, lines, curves and textures. Letting them fill his mortal soul with something more elegant and holy than he could ever conceive of. Buck doesn’t even dare to speak, too fearful that his clumsy words of praise and awe would disturb the delicate atmosphere somehow.

Most rooms have displays in the middle — carvings or pottery — as well as the paintings hanging around them. The one he’s in now has a few smaller sculptures set on pedestals. When Buck completes his circuit of the impressionists, he drifts to the center, unprepared for what he sees. A quiet gasp escapes, taking the air in his lungs with it.

The bronze rendering depicts two lovers, a man and woman, intertwined, but not fully. He holds her, one arm supporting her back as she gracefully arches backwards, a hand in his hair as they kiss, trusting he won’t let go. His left leg crosses hers, settling between her wide stance, and his left arm extends behind him, reaching, as if he’s just dipped her body over and is trying to maintain some balance.

Buck stares, scarcely blinking or breathing. The full weight of the lovers’ intimacy and passion hits him, burrowing into his skin and nestling around his heart. What must it feel like to be loved like that?

He brings a hand up to cover his mouth, attempting to hold in the overwhelming wave of want that consumes him. The want to be loved and desired and held so preciously. Not just temporarily, for a fleeting moment in the shadows of night and anonymity, but for a lifetime. Someone that would look at him — all of him — with his scars and trauma, and deem him enough.

His phone buzzes in his pocket, pulling him back from the edge of his spiral. When he checks, it’s a text from Eddie. His mood immediately lightens and his heart softens while his lips curve into a fond smile.

Abuela brought a tres leches cake earlier. Chris says you better come over if you want any.

Buck’s grin grows wider. He can perfectly picture Chris saying that, too. Buck learned early on that both his Diaz boys showed no mercy when it came to Abuela’s tres leches.

At the art museum. Tell him I’ll be there for dinner.

The little dots immediately begin bouncing on the screen, and it goes on for so long Buck begins to wonder what else Eddie could possibly have to say. So it surprises him when only one simple, devastating emoji appears.

Kaka compilation

Because everyone is sleeping on him. Witness his greatness!! First two Kaka colored icons were colored by me, lineart by Ryoko Kui though!

Kaka & Kiki are kinda like Laios & Falin… Kaka being stoic and giving repressed energy like early Laios, Kiki being cryptic and always smiling and kinda soft-looking. Autism siblings 2, ostracized and othered as kids and have a deep bond due to sticking together through it all, though unlike with Laios their parents are very loving so Kaka developed family as a big value more than Laios (bc asides for Falin Laios doesn’t care much about it).

In the gnome festival comic you can see Kaka is more emotive than he seems! Full with a :3 face, and he’s the one crying at the end. He’s insecure about his legs and being tall… It really got to him. Conceal don’t feel. In the gnome festival comic you also see him sensing others’ gaze on him and that something is off unlike Kiki, again Laios-like in the way that judgement from others gets to him more than her.

Good morning 🙏🏼

I want to thank everyone their support with reblogging my stuff over the years and reblogging some of the context of the situation.

Tumblr and Instagram is filled with the most supportive people I’ve ever had the chance of meeting. The last time something like this happened, I didn’t have much support, not even from people I thought were close to me. It took me a year or two to be okay with being perceived again in fandoms. So I’m very grateful for everything.

I just wanted to post that I appreciate all of the asks and I’ve been reading all of them. I actually get anxious I’m spamming everyone too much so I probably won’t reply to everything. Please don’t feel pressured to support me financially, there’s is a free option on patreon to follow. I’ll post future project plans and occasional updates because I still love comics and I still love DC/Marvel. I do enjoy having people following along for my art/reading journey so I would always be okay with people just following for free. My brain is telling me this post is too long now so I will go 🙏🏼😭

cooked these up in a few hours! These honestly didn’t really take that long at all and were really fun to do since I got to play around with some charcoal brushes (I love doing everything in my power to NOT use midtones lmfao).

I tired to mimic the style of the manga a bit and I think i did relatively okay! I have a lot more of these planned so yeah >:3! Really excited to get to do them sometime

hi lovelies, realized that i did not say it on here before, but i will say it now.

i’m gonna be MIA from this blog for one week. bisan from gaza has called for a worldwide strike from january 21-28 to show support for the palestinians during this horrific genocide. striking involves several things (which i will provide in pics below), including completely abstaining posting on social media unless it is about palestine.

just in the last week, israel murdered over 1000 palestinians. there are no more fully-functioning hospitals in gaza, only 15 semi-functioning ones. the united states government itself has issued a statement saying that it does not believe in a ceasefire.

this is not war. this is not a conflict. this is an ethnic cleansing. this is genocide.

from the river to the sea, palestine will be free. 🇵🇸
