Okay so on the ao3 thing bc I just saw a really stupid fucking take on it all.

1. Ao3 is not being attacked by a Sudanese group. It IS being attacked. But not by the Sudanese. Yes the group CLAIMS to be Sudanese. No they are not Sudanese, and they may not even be the ones attacking the site, they could just want clout and attention. The existence of this "Sudanese hacker" group is likely just a ploy to hide the identity of the real people behind the group bc I guarantee they are not Sudanese.

2. Absolutely wild to blame the attack of ao3 ON AO3 AND ITS SUPPORTERS. Literally no one who likes and supports Ao3 wants Ao3 to go down at any point in time.

3. Fully stupid to use your issues with Ao3 to justify the loss of a massive archive of fanfiction. I dont particularly care what you think of Ao3, I dont care if you dont like it, I dont care if you hate it. I am well aware that Ao3 as a site has issues and could very well be improved upon. That being said, Ao3 is an archive of millions of fanworks. As of May 2023, they reported that the site hosted over 11 million works from over 40 thousand fandoms. Ao3 has got fics that have been backdated to the creation of modern fanfic in the late 1960s. The loss of that would be completely devastating.

I know that this take is coming from people who primarily havent suffered through massive fanfiction archive losses in the past. The censoring of fanfic.net, the loss of livejournal, the takedowns on forums and community sites. All of these resulted in huge losses of fan-created works. Even with the existence of ao3, we still have lost so so much and frankly I dont think anyone should be advocating for us to lose millions more.

i feel petty because i don’t enjoy seeing people saying stuff like ‘well naoto is canonically a girl so you can’t be mad at people using she/her’ because i feel like people often use it to dismiss how trans people, especially transmasc people, view naoto’s character arc. like sure maybe the writers didn’t intend for naoto to have a trans coded storyline but when you write things like *gasp* this character is actually a girl who is pretending to be a boy??? and ‘oh well i can’t change the gender i was born as so i guess i’ll just live as a girl’ it flags as transphobia even if it wasn’t intentional. unintentional transphobia is still transphobia that should be called out imo and trans people shouldn’t be made to feel weird and that they didn’t understand naoto’s story because they feel this way about him

it's a stupid ass outdated name that makes me cringe every time i read it-- oh you mean like as a ship. yeah i mean i love twelve and clara's relationship i want to study them under a microscope, but to me they're more interesting as a sort of fucked up platonic codependency than anything romantic or sexual. i think those lines between them are somewhat blurry, intentionally so, and any effort to define their relationship as simple "oh they loved each other" or whatever automatically makes them boring to me. that's personal preference though you can do whatever you want forever & i am not getting in any fights with people who Do find them interesting as a romantic dynamic. i don't think those people are inherently wrong & i have plenty of friends and mutuals who feel that way. it's just how i personally read them. who care

controversial(?) opinion: Remus isn't intrusive thoughts. Logan gives an extremely specifically worded answer saying:

"The Duke is like Roman's twin, the embodiment of 'bad imagination'. Which is primarily experienced by you via intrusive thoughts."

Not "he is 'bad imagination' and intrusive thoughts." but "he is 'bad imagination' and you experience him as intrusive thoughts" which is very notable when other characters have it explicitly stated that they ARE other things. Roman is creativity, romance, and the ego, he is all of them, he doesn't cause the other things; he IS them.

Thomas is only hurt by intrusive thoughts because he believes the thoughts he has makes him a bad person. Like Remus explicitly stated that the reason Thomas finds him scary is because of Virgil, which yeah, intrusive thoughts in real life are caused by anxiety. Patton and Virgil are said to be the real ones at fault for making Thomas feel guilty and anxious. Perhaps Remus is causing them maliciously in universe, in attempts to get attention or revenge for being suppressed or whatever, but Logan's explanation is written in such a careful way that to me, it makes it clear (to me, at least) that he is not literally intrusive thoughts, he is just any idea Thomas thinks is taboo.

Due to character arcs, he's probably gonna get accepted. And he probably isn't going to just be accepted (which that part would be good, intrusive thoughts have to be accepted as Just Thoughts) but is also probably going to be a good guy like Virgil. Which it would be bad if intrusive thoughts were glorified like that. Good thing he's not intrusive thoughts.

the little vash rescue arc around ch.49 or whenever is starting 2 become one of my favorites. id completely forgotten ab it until i opened some random page & maan the art is so good ..you see vash in an unusually vulnerable & weakened state, so it forces wolfwood to assume center stage (fun), on top of which we get snippets of backstory/exposition for him And livio . and because it works to assert the gung ho's elite strength, we Also get a lot of xtra fun panels with knives, legato, elendira, livio etc. etc all followed by a cute reunion at the end w brad, marlon, and v & ww wrapped up in sleepy blankets.idk ^__^ so cute. its such a neat little part of the story even if it lasts all of 2 seconds
