I redrew Irri 🩵 & Jhiqui 🩷 (book 1) with a new style I'm experimenting with

Plus a few headcanons (which do change them a bit from the books but I'm trying to make it for the better) :

- Irri was the daughter of a Khal & his Khaleesi, and before she was born she was prophecized to be the Stallion who Mount the World (they mistakenly thought she'd be a boy). When she was born obv this caused problems, and Irri's mom being a disapointement caused her to be set aside for another wife. Irri grew up unloved by her father and with a rank barely better than a servant girl's within the khalasar. She's grew up to be a bit nervous & quiet because of it, and her main escape from her awkward position & the emotions it caused her was horseriding ; she's extremely skilled at it (she also knows how to take care of horses & heal them very well). She was enslaved a year or so before Daenerys arrived in Drogo's Khalasar. She adjusted more or less well to the new life (plus being Dany's handmaid gave her a better status in the end), but misses her mom, who is now part of the Dosh Khaleen.

- Jhiqui was the daughter of a Lhazareen slave who died not long after she was born, and a Khal. But in opposition to Jhiqui, she was beloved by her father & treated like a daughter by his Khaleesi. She was lowkey a bit spoiled and has a taste for learning things, including about other cultures. She's kind of bubbly & extroverted ! She didn't adjust well to her whole life being disrupted by Khal Drogo when she was 10. She also doesn't like being a servant much (which is how this version of Jhiqui would quickly evolve from being Dany's close servant).

Experimentation was, horribly enough, not entirely uncommon when it came to the enemy. Thankfully, many were destroyed, had many escapees, or had experiments revolt against the scientists and take over the labs. Luckily enough, they were one of those escaped hybrids.

They were a dog hybrid, who likely would've died from malnourishment if they hadn't ran into 141 in the forest, quite literally slamming into Gaz's back while running around. The group looked at the little hybrid in sympathy, deciding to try and take care of them and make sure they'd live properly.

Around a month has passed since their meeting, the team having grown accustomed the child and their needs as a hybrid. Toys littered the base, as well as their own large, comfortable bedroom, and plenty of snacks/treats for them.

Recently, though, their teeth had begun to ache. The team tried to soothe their aching fangs with classic chewing toys for both young human children and dogs, uncertain on what the hybrid would prefer. Unexpectedly, though, they barely used the chewing toys, instead taking to the legs of chairs, the pillows in their room and on the sofa, anything that they could get their hands on.

Soap’s voice seemed to echo through the room, causing the hybrid to look up at him, their teeth already burrowed into the leg of a chair. The man's hands is on his hips, a disappointed look is present.

"Uch, let go of the chair, kid. You have perfectly good toys in your room to chew on."

He remarks, stepping a bit closer incase he needs to pry the chair away from their grip. Soap holds a toy out to the little hybrid, squeezing it in front of them as the toy squeaks in response, trying to lure them away from the chair and chew on something less important.

He did it again, watching your reaction intently. When you reacted with the same disinterested aversion, he scooped you up in his arms and propped on his hip.

“Ye alright, cuilean?” He fretted, “the noise botherin’ ye?”

He sighed at your little nod aswell as your tail flicking nervously, realizing the issue.

He gathered all of the toys into a pile verses the previous scattered scene, your body still sitting comfortably on his hip with a hand around your back. Sorting the squeaky toys from the silent toys and the plush from the rubber. He held you under the armpits, earning a happy giggle from your lips, sitting you in front of all the organized piles.

Watching you gravitate towards the noiseless rubber toys definitely sealed the realization that the team had been buying you the wrong items to help with your teething problem. He chuckled and ran a hand through his Mohawk “Poor wean, I shoulda noticed that sooner before wastin’ all ‘at dosh!”

For the next few weeks, Johnny researched every possible factor to help you (and get you to stop leaving tooth marks on everything). How tough should they be? What colour do you prefer? How long does the average adorable freak of nature even teethe for? It was a lot, but he managed.

After getting a customized chew necklace in the mail, you finally seemed content.

Might as well been his child, lying on his chest as you watched Wild Kratts on your little tablet and little red chewie necklace firmly in your maw as you absentmindedly bray on the silicone.

The team would usually take turns supervising you, but Soap was barely doing that, his eyes half open and an occasional hum coming from his throat as you blabber about the characters, occasionally singing with the intro when a new episode came on.

I'm trying to get back on my Fantasy Life/general creative kick after some... incidents. So, let's talk about Itri, his internalized ableism and how I am choosing to interpret Port Puerto society for the Eight of Lunares AU!

I admit I typed all this out outta my mutual @roseombre 's concern for Itri so now I'm here- thanks to Roseo for making me try to develop EoL more again lmao sorry ya gotta suffer

I see Port Puerto as a very self-sufficient, prideful society; take what you have to with the concern of who you take from second. I personally see community as less prevalent in how you explore Port Puerto compared to Castele. Actually, family seems more important than the people you live around as seen with Olivia's story. Along with that, the pirates and sailors are a big part of Port Puerto culture, lifestyles requiring doing what you have to to survive and independence. Plus, nobility in lots of history (and now) steal and exploit those below and the nobility in Port Puerto are VERY present.

All this to say, I've already placed Itri at the bottom of a very competitive and fierce food chain; a poor orphan boy with 'behavioral issues'. May as well explain how they got to where he is once placed into such a society.

With nobility revered and independence prided in, Itri quickly learned to go on his own, especially since no one in his life had the resources nor the care to actually understand their problems. Itri was in the minority of the population in terms of status anyways. No one would care. But, of course, Itri continued to live and provide for themselves, truly just to prove that they could.

And this all feeds into the idea that SURELY, he isn't disabled and doesn't have any disorders. In Itri's head, nothing is 'wrong' with them. Not to say that mental and/or physical disabilities and disorders are inherently wrong, just that in a mindset deadset on survival and independence, oftentimes these types of things can be seen as a burden or a hindrance. When you're supposed to do everything by yourself, make a name for yourself, needing help in any capacity RARELY cuts it unless getting a disability from doing something 'noble', like serving Port Puerto.

So a kid with no money to pay for help and no ears to listen, used to being left to their own devices and 'rolling with the punches'? Itri is not going to get his torn ear checked, not even when they ended losing hearing in their right ear since "It's a waste of money and no one says anything important for me to hear". He's not going to go to the doctor for broken bones since they'll heal on their own time and Itri had to get to work. He won't be concerned when their ribs get extra exposed since they're used to it.

And so, when he starts both developing different issues and having his previously existing issues come to light with his new life in Castele + EoL's traumatizing plot, Itri figures it's 'not the kind of thing we do'. That someone like them can't have these kinds of problems since he's 'too strong for that'. That or it's not as concerning as continuing to accumulate Dosh. Extreme anxiety, paranoia, autism, psychosis, codependency. All of this is, in Itri's mind, shit for the weak that they don't have time for. It especially gets worse the more both Itri and Nashira cling to each other in the wake of Ryna's murder.

So that explains that one piece of art and any controversial stuff Itri will say in the future! I specify that last part as I feel people get too caught up in the detachment of morals in characters (murder, genocide, etc) that when they talk about more 'grounded' things, it suddenly reflects on the author. When in reality, I want to depict different perspectives while also giving an outlet for myself. This experience of Itri's is based on my internalized self doubt regarding my depression and autism because I am 'high-functioning and low maintenance', just to the extreme. It's cathartic to have a character who not only cannot accept help but cannot even accept that help is needed in the first place.

Your mobile phone rings at exactly 23:42 at night, it’s a Wednesday and the day at work had been more than exhausting, so the expletives you murmur as you are dragged out of your restful sleep are more than deserved in your eyes. Your phone is the only source of light around you, illuminating the small, dinky bedroom in a soft sheen of greenish white, making it look a bit bigger than it actually is.

Still cursing, one hand in front of your eyes, you blindly fish for your phone, fingers brushing against it at the third try. It’s a number, no name, no notice on your screen, just a number. But one that had burned itself into your head regardless. You stare at the still ringing phone, a heavy stone sitting in your stomach as you watch as the time turns into 23:43. You know you can’t just ignore this; you had tried it once and the consequences had been… unexpected.

You press the green button instead of the red one you dearly wish you could press. You don’t say your name, you don’t even have the time to do so, because as soon as the call connects an accented voice cheerfully starts to speak, voice happy and awake and loud. You wish you could reach through the phone to strangle him, but sadly such superpowers are beyond you. "Right, this is the reminder call fur Diner fur (D-)One! Yer order o' a dead fiery Pepperoni Pizza will be roond in aboot 20 minutes! The delivery driver’s already got their dosh. Thank ye fur stickin’ wi’ us!" The man booms through your phone, Scottish accent rolling through your hazy mind, summoning the picture of the smirking, mohawked man into your mind. You can just picture him and his stupid smirk and his flexing arms as he twirls the phone in hand, mischief in his eyes.

“Listen here, it is nea-“ – “BeepBeepBeep” – “… Oh, I hate this. I hate him. I hate his stupid smile; I hate his stupid boss and I hate this whole situation!”

You fall back into your bed, pulling your pillow over your face as you scream into the fluffiness you need to leave now, leave behind your rest and your bed and your dog, who is still snoring loudly at the end of your blankets.

20 minutes later on the dot you open the front door, watching as a small delivery car holds in front of your small bungalow and another of the Diner Crew folds himself out of the car, cap firmly sat on top of his head, his smile big as he loped up the short path towards you, his brown eyes warm as he looks you up and down, mustering your work jeans, your too big shirt and the hint of your mismatched socks. “Hey there, Hun. Another late-night delivery for my favorite, hardworking daycare teacher.” His voice is soft and warm like honey, and you can’t believe how pretty that man is. Effortless beauty, your mother would call it. So in contrast to yourself. “Thanks.” You smile tiredly at him, taking the steaming carton into your own hands. The darkskinned pretty man chuckles, tips his cap at you and lopes back towards the car.

You watch him go, going back inside only when his car turns the corner and is out of sight. Then you breath again, your brows furrowed as you close the door behind you. The Pizza looks delicious, like always, glistening garlic oil on top of the fatty pieces of Pepperoni thickly placed on your pizza. The problem was the other side of the cardboard, the thick red letters on the inside of the box.

Alright, MH Wilds Title Update One news is in an hour and I wanted to write down my predictions so I could either be completely laughed out of the room or be incredibly vindicated. So, without further ado:

Packs of Mizutsune. It's already confirmed in lore that in previous games, the Mizus we hunt are actually just bull males, and that the females gather in groups and are generally not a problem. MH Wilds' pack mechanic could give life to this lore in a really cool way. It would also give Mizu the edge needed to compete in difficulty with the other T3 monsters, as imho Mizu is about a Rathalos tier monster, not Apex tier and certainly not Arkveld or Gore tier. In addition, there really aren't that many monsters using the pack mechanic, so another high tier pack monster would be a good pick. (Is it really just Dosh, Hirabami, and Kut-Ku?)

Guardian Mizutsune. There are no water element Guardians, so it would make sense to add in GMizu to create water element explosions of wylk crystals. There's also no Ice element guardians either, so keep that in mind for future updates.

A new Gathering Hub and Personal Room in Suja. I'm not sure if you've heard, but this has already been confirmed. I picked Suja as the location as there's several areas not accessible there.

A new mechanic to Bubbly Dance, the unique armor skill present on Mizu armor. Considering how impactful the armor skills have been in wilds, I think Bubbly Dance might need a bit of a boost to compete. Maybe something like what Guardian Ebony does to Burst, but for Adrenaline Rush instead?

High Rank Zoh Shia. It's absolutely criminal that we can't fight that abomination more than once without multiplayer shenanigans. I do have a feeling that HR Zoh might be saved for a later, more difficult title update though.

This one's a long shot: Violet Mizu. You can't tell me that Violet would not make sense in the Oilwell Basin. This one also might have to be saved for a future update, though.

Guardian Ebony Odogaron vs. Guardian Rathalos Turf War. This animation already exists in Iceborne, why isn't it in Wilds? Cmon Capcom I know you love copy pasting turf wars.

Mizutsune vs. Uth Duna turf war. Phat Leviathan vs. Graceful Leviathan. It'd be so cool, and also make sense lorewise considering Mizu and Uth Duna are both piscivores. Also just generally more Mizutsune turf wars.

And, finally: A secret invader monster, not revealed by the trailer or the showcase. Cmon Capcom I want to be completely destroyed by a random giant monster wandering into my hunts again. I'll take any of the invasive trio.

I'm also retracting my Gammoth prediction from before Wilds released. While the Iceshard Cliffs is indeed home to Jhin Dahaad, he's very restricted on where he can show up and is more of a environmental hazard when he's not on his unique arena map. The Cliffs are also very vertical and have several rather cramped rooms, which would make fighting the gargantuan mammoth a complete pain. Sorry Gammoth, you're waiting till the expansion adds a new ice map.
