I was contemplating if I should send in a request so if you are too busy or school has started then please ignore this but ....if not then...can I ask for a fic or one-shot or whatever (I don't really know the difference) of Taehun and Seongjoon's s/o reassuring them about their relationship with them(the boys). Maybe something happened or the boys have been over thinking about why their s/o is with them when they could be with other better people. Things like that....
JunTae anon
reassurance (taehun/seongjun x reader)
details: fluff with some angst oneshots, gender neutral reader written in 2nd pov, general canon au, reader has been dating character for a while
summary: you give him some reassurance after he expresses worry.
a/n: happy to see u again juntae anon, thanks for another request :] and dw as long as i have requests open, i'll do my best with any i get despite stuff like school 💪💖
also one shots are what i write! they're basically long scenarios (short ones are drabbles) while fics are chapter long and have a plot, rather than a simple scenario ^_^

TAEHUN
He was famous for being overly jealous and not at the same time--that was Taehun's thing. The catch was he was only jealous about petty things.
Exhibit A: glaring at anyone who expressed interest in you, even if it was in the most completely platonic way.
Honestly though, even that was kind of an act. A neverending joke, if you could call it that. It was just funny embarrassing you when he acted overbearing by blurting out he was your boyfriend or being overly touchy with you to express that he was your boyfriend.
Point was, he was too confident in himself and you to have any insecurities that would fester into feeling unsure about the relationship between the both of you.
"So why the HELL have I been feeling weird lately?" His million dollar question of the week. For reasons unknown (or unacknowledged...) by himself, he had been bothered by words he overheard you telling a friend of yours the other day.
"I wish my boyfriend was as nice as them."
They were words he easily laughed at and brushed aside at the time, yet they've been lingering in his mind. It wasn't as if it was the first time he heard you say something like that, which made it even more confusing for him. Now that he thought about it though, maybe it was the fact that he overheard you say it.
It was different when you were saying it in front of him because it easily came off as a joke, but behind his back...? He had to admit your tone was lighthearted, but still. Maybe you meant it more knowing he wasn't around? Does that even make sense...?
He grumbled and ruffled his hair up before leaning back on the couch. Before he could shut his eyes, the sound of your voice made him turn his head.
"What're you upset about today, huh?"
"Mind your business," he huffed, moving to wrap an arm around your shoulders as you joined him on the couch. "Where have you been, anyway?"
"I was helping your dad outside with some stuff?"
"Oh."
The abrupt end to the conversation resulted in an awkward silence, but it didn't take long to melt into a comfortable one as you both went on to do your own things. You busied yourself with your phone and Taehun just tried to enjoy your presence. Occasionally he glanced down at your screen and asked what you were doing, or you would start small talk.
It was nice, but not enough to dismiss Taehun's thoughts. He figured maybe he was overthinking and spending time with you would reassure him of your feelings for him, yet the words, "I wish my boyfriend was as nice as them," continued to circle in his mind.
"This is stupid."
"Hm?" You looked up at him, eyes full of innocence.
Taehun stared into them for a moment, as if there was an answer for his question in your eyes, and then sighed after finding nothing. He just pulled you in a little closer and laid his head on top of yours.
Confused, some fumbled words came out of your mouth before you managed to say, "If something's bothering you, you can tell me, you know."
"Yeah, but how do I say it without getting fucking embarrassed?" Red was already beginning to color in Taehun's cheeks. He only forced himself to reply after you nudged him with an elbow.
"I'm nice to you, right?" Yikes. That came out all wrong. What the hell kind of question was that?
"Uh..." Understandably, you became even more confused. "Yeah?"
Well, since Taehun already put a start on this thing, he decided he'd keep moving forward--he'd just have to hope he didn't crash and burn.
After a quick few seconds of thinking, he replied, "Okay, but if I..." He grit his teeth, hating the cringe he was feeling towards himself crawl up his spine. "Ever make you mad. Or sad. You have to tell me."
You went quiet and now dread began to fill Taehun up. He was being as vague as possible, there was no way you were connecting the dots.
"No way... is THE Taehun Seong worried about being too mean?"
Great, you didn't connect the dots, but also damn you for still teasing him.
He pulled away to frown at you. "Shut up, I'm being serious."
You laughed and moved to give his cheek a peck. "Relax, I know. And don't worry, if you ever upset me--" On the same place you kissed his cheek, you gave it a pinch and he squinted an eye. "--I'll let you know. Otherwise, you don't have to feel bad. I know most of what you say isn't meant to be taken personally." The soft smile on your face turned into a grin. "Besides, if I couldn't stand it, why would I date your rude-ass?"
Those few words were all Taehun needed to get his weighted worries off his shoulders and suddenly he felt stupid worrying about something so small. Well, he thought it was stupid in the first place, but you were really solidifying the feeling.
He couldn't help but laugh at himself. Fortunately, it made sense to in the conversation as well so you hummed along, and he was content to roll with it.
But first he gave you a kiss and then proceeded to ignore any of your questions for the reasoning behind it.
~
SEONGJUN
Jealousy was a rare feeling for someone like Seongjun. After all, what could a man as rich, powerful, and smart as him have to be jealous of? Even seeing you spend time with other people never made him blink an eye. Who was he to stop you from hanging out with the people you wanted to, anyway?
Yes, indeed, he was a good man and a good lover.
To you, at least.
Ironically, that was the same thing that haunted him. Outside of you, he wasn't sure anyone else who knew him personally would call him... nice. Because he wasn't.
He had already wrestled with what little good his heart had left, so that wasn't what bothered him. He mostly made peace with who he was now and who he wanted to be, it was just when it came to you that he felt a little unsteady.
Changing such a major part of himself for someone wasn't something he feel like he'd do, no matter how much he loved the person. Thus, the heavy choice fell to you.
It was your decision, whether or not to stay with someone with hands as stained as his. He wouldn't blame you if you left, the same way he questioned why you stayed. He just knew he was gently holding your hand, and you were holding his in response.
Hand in loving hand. For now. Mostly. Maybe?
Every once in a while, doubt clouded his vision and he wasn't sure he could feel your hand. Some days he loosened his grip, thinking, "Today's the day they come to their senses and leave me." Other days he comfortably held on, eased by the warmth from your hand.
But sometimes even that wasn't enough, and now was one of those times.
He hated how his stomach churned as he watched you finish up one last conversation with a coworker on his way to pick you up from your workplace. He hated how he couldn't even be mad, because you had gotten so close to your coworker, even he got to know the person a little and they were genuinely really nice. Much, much nicer than him.
Walking home with you, holding your hand, he couldn't help but think you would be better off with your coworker. Safe and comfortable, with someone more normal. Hell, it didn't have to be your coworker, just someone like them.
"Is this jealousy...?" Seongjun shook his head. "No, it's more like... insecurity. A really pathetic and self pitying feeling of insecurity." He sighed, immediately regretting it when you turned to raise a brow at him.
"Something the matter?"
He plastered on a smile, but you saw through it too easily and frowned. "It's nothing--"
"Come on, you know you're not very good at hiding things from me."
Seongjun paused for a moment before chuckling and looking off to the side. He hummed, trying to see how long he could derail the conversation. It wasn't that long, unfortunately. Still, he hesitated before clearing his throat to make sure he could sound as lighthearted as possible before asking, "Promise you won't make fun of me?"
"Promise," you replied in a singsong voice.
He laughed a little, though it trailed off and became awkward. "Well... I think I might be jealous."
Not exactly the truth, but it was the best way he could communicate his feelings without being too honest. He wasn't sure he was ready for that kind of conversation yet, and it would definitely be better to have behind closed doors, not in a public space.
You gasped somewhat playfully. "Of my coworker?"
"Wow, right on the first guess~" Seongjun was still trying his best to keep the conversation light.
"Aw, you're so cute!" you cooed, making him feign a bit of anger.
"Hey, you said you wouldn't make fun of me."
You only hummed in amusement. "I know, but I couldn't help it." You gave him a grin and batted your eyes. "May I politely ask why you're jealous?"
Seongjun thinned his lips. "I just think... that your coworker is nice." You tilted your head at him, prompting him for more details. It took a few tense seconds before he eventually got himself to add, "Wouldn't you want to be with them instead of someone like me?"
The tense seconds came back except they were longer and more stressful because the silence was now coming from you. Seongjun glanced your way, caught by surprise to see you staring intently at him. Almost as if you were seeing right through his current act, and it nearly made him feel ashamed. He tried to stay strong anyway, and smiled at you.
You reflected the expression back, but it looked a little sad. After giving his hand a little squeeze, you said, "You know I'd never want to be with anyone else than you, Seongjun. I believe you'll always be someone I'll love."
He let out a breathy chuckle, unable to hide the bitterness in it. "And what if one day I stop being that person?"
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." A simple and straightforward answer, but full of love. "Don't worry about 'what ifs' and just focus on our happy present. If you don't stop worrying, you'll only give yourself gray hairs."
Seongjun nearly stopped in his tracks in surprise at your sincerity. The joke at the end made his smile grow into a more genuine one and he ended up just laughing. His heart was swelling and he didn't know what he could ever say or do to express how happy he was to have you in his life.
So, for now, he just leaned in to give you a kiss, not caring about what anyone around would think.

➥ 7.4k; Sungjin is an incubus that hasn’t seen any action in years. So when Y/N summons him, thinking she can make a deal with him for power, Sungjin is more than willing to play her little game. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, Sungjin doesn’t make those kinds of deals. But that doesn’t mean summoning him will be a complete waste of time, right?

➥ 11.2k; Being cursed a werecat, Wonpil often wishes he’d been bitten by a werewolf. Hello 👋
I've read some of your fics and I enjoy them a lot esp Taehoon.
I wanted to ask if you could do a fic about Taehoon getting into a serious fight with his s/o and how the would try to make up with them.
Genre: angst to fluff basically.
If you don't do angst then please discard this.
Thanks either way
I'll go by Black anon
Hey black anon. Thanks for the ask and reading my brainrot 🥰 the fight isn't serious serious, the angst isn't angst angst, and the fluff isn't fluff fluff but at least the DILF makes an appearance!
Seong Taehoon x Reader: Fall out
Taehoon says it's not that serious
Tumblr media
Hansu notices something is wrong when you didn't come round for the third day in a row.
He takes his glasses off and sighs.
"Whatever you've done Taehoon, just apologise."
"I haven't done shit, old man."
"Taehoon."
Taehoon throws his dad a scowl, before turning back and glaring at his phone.
For the last 20 minutes, he's been absentmindedly scrolling through photos of you both.
You always seem so happy in the photos. And well, you're happy in person too. But there's something special about how your eyes crinkle and face lights up. It really is worth a thousand words.
And Taehoon himself, if not candid, is usually posing with a smirk or a glare. Typical really. Yet very occasionally, in rare instances, the camera captures how he looks at you - like you're the whole world.
He wrinkles his nose at this. Are you serious? This is how he looks? Like a love sick idiot? Urgh.
God, tonight fucking sucks and this whole thing fucking sucks.
He wouldn't be in this predicament if he could just face his feelings. Who has he got to blame but himself.
Sure, you've been dating for a little while now. However the fallout happened a few days ago. You asked him to meet your parents, as most couples do; Taehoon had recoiled and dismissed you, despite how upset you were getting. He regretted the words as soon as he said them.
"But I see your dad all the time!"
"It's not the same."
"How is it not the same?"
"It just isn't."
"You can't just avoid my family forever,"
"..."
"What sort of boyfriend doesn't meet their partner's family at least once?"
"..."
"We've been together for 9 months-"
"We're not that serious."
"Oh. Right."
And you, feeling humiliated and rejected, didn't say anything else and left. You haven't spoken to him since.
Look, he knows his argument isn't ruled by logic and it doesn't make sense. Yes, you see his dad a lot but you hang around at the studio and his house a lot too. Of course you would see Hansu.
But Taehoon meeting your parents? It seems momentous. Like a huge milestone.
Like... You're someone special.
Like you're his and he's yours.
Like finally admitting that he loves-
Like knowing if he were to lose you, then it would hurt.
Or if he wasn't able to protect you, and you would be gone, then-
Well, what then.
He didn't think he had it in him to care for someone else after Dowoon. But you came along, wormed your way into his life and his heart, and now?
If anything happened, he knows he wouldnt be the same. That if you went, you would take a piece of him. That even with time, the emptiness would still never heal.
Taehoon knows his whole argument is stupid. Because all these things were true months ago and they're true right now.
That really, he upset you for no reason.
Fuck.
"Fine. FINE!" Hansu looks over at his son's outburst in surprise.
"I'll apolog- call Y/N.”
"You should get her some flowers too,"
"Dad. Shut it."
Hansu looks at Taehoon disapprovingly. Seriously, who raised this brat?
.
.
You wait on your doorstep, tapping your foot impatiently.
You're still mad at him (and embarrassed). But when could you ever say no to Taehoon? He asked to meet you, you reluctantly agreed, but this bastard hasn't even said a word yet.
"Don't interrupt," You weren't even saying anything! Taehoon throws you a glare just for good measure. But you notice the way he fidgets, and he never fidgets. He's self confident to the core.
"I didn't mean what I said. I-" did Taehoon actually gulp? "I'm serious about you. Pretty fucking serious, ok. And if meeting your family makes you happy then," he shrugs, "fine. Let's do it now."
Hold on. You think you hurt your neck from his whiplash.
You're torn between actually wanting to introduce your delinquent boyfriend finally to everyone, and wanting to grill him. It's not everyday Taehoon gets into his feelings.
The latter wins out.
"Wait," you cross your arms and continue blocking his way in, "why the change of heart?"
Taehoon glowers at you. He sees your relaxed stance, the way you have loosened up even as you're playing hard to get.
Whatever, he isn't a coward.
"You're the most important person to me. I want you to be happy."
Oh. If you weren't soft before, then you definitely are now. This man is going to be the death of you.
You reach out and pull his cheeks, smiling at him fondly. "You asshole."
"Cut it out," he bats at your hands half heartedly.
"Was that so hard?"
"Just let me in,"
"Nope!"
"Don't you want me to say hi?"
"..."
"Don't you want to introduce your boyfriend?"
"Ack. Ok, fine fine." You finally let go and move aside.
... Something catches your eyes.
"Taehoon, you bought flowers?!"

daylight | wen junhui
member: wen junhui - seventeen
content: angst, some fluff, high school au, friends with benefits, emotional cheating but not exactly?
word count: 8.8k
summary: in which you belong completely to junhui, and you know he will never belong to you.
warnings: language (some cursing), alluding to sexual content (not smut), mention of blood
Happy seven years of seventeen!!!
Tumblr media
There was something comforting about watching Junhui sleep. You’ve seen countless shots in movies and awoken in the middle of the night to see your friends passed out during your sleepovers, and none of them seemed anywhere near as close to peace as Junhui did. The gentle rise and fall of his chest kept your own breath in pace with his, and the stray hand that snuck from his arm around your waist seemed to grip you even as he was unconscious. Junhui seemed to be so completely unaware of your stares, the soft glow of the streetlamp that peeked through your curtains illuminating his perfect lips. He was still, as if nothing was running through his mind, and nothing could ruin that.
You don’t think you’ve ever seen Junhui dream. At least not at this time of night.
Your phone lit up, the clock seemed accusing and cruel. 4:37AM. Spring had been steadily approaching, the nights were becoming shorter and quicker, and exam season was crawling closer and closer. By 5, daylight would chase you, and take away these moments of peace. They were never solitary, but there was something strangely lonely about them. Especially knowing they wouldn’t last.
There were few nights you spent with Junhui, but those nights you had with him were hardly ever spent with you sleeping, no matter how tired you felt. You were grateful Junhui was asleep. Part of you was proud, that you were able to keep him interested, tire him out, and as the dark settled in, you could watch as he passed out in your arms, and you in his, while his chest rose, the only indication of life in his room. You were almost too afraid to breathe more than you needed to, scared that any movement may stir him and take him away from your grasp. No, for as long as you could stay up before the cruel dawn took him away from you, he was yours as long as you were still in his arms.
For now, the nights were cold and long, and you could stay with him the whole night. But the warmer the days, the warmer the nights, and soon enough Junhui will get too sweaty and restless with you resting on his chest. But until the daylight comes, you’re his, which suited you just fine.
Even though you knew he could never be yours.
Tumblr media
“There’s not too much time left this term, and we’ll have to study over break, so we should go out while we can, especially now that we’re all 18 and we can get into clubs legally without using those dodgy IDs we bought from Soobin. What do you think Y/N?”
Her words drifted past your mind, floating above you. All you could look at was the boy in front of you as he stared into his notebook, ignoring the words of his friends, much as you were doing. His eyes glared down at the paper in front of him, his arm tensed as he scribbled furiously, and you were greeted with memories of those arms trailing down your back, butterfly kisses across your collarbone seemed to reignite days after setting your skin aflame.
“Y/N!”
“Huh?”
Mina snorted, gently pushing your shoulder. “I’ve been calling your name for like 2 minutes now. We were wondering if you wanted to come out with us on Friday? We’re going to Diamond, the new bar downtown,” She noticed your face scrunch up as memories of assignments you had barely started filled your vision. “We won’t stay for long! And it’ll be a whole bunch of us, we’ll invite Dowoon and Soonyoung, you can bring your boyfriend if you want.”
At that your expression morphed into one of confusion. “I’m not dating anyone.”
“Aren’t you with Junhui?” She questioned. “You guys are always hanging out together, and you’re so touchy, I just assumed…”
At the mention of his name, your eyes fell back into their habit of staring at him, and this time his met your own hungry ones, taking you in before winking quickly at you.
You sighed softly. “Me and Junhui are just friends. He’s such a puppy, but he’s honestly that touchy with everyone,” You explained, though your classmates didn’t seem too convinced.
“So there’s nothing going on between the two of you?” Mina’s eyebrows wiggled, and Amie oohed quietly into your ear. Blushing, you shook your head furiously.
“Junhui would never see me that way.”
Tumblr media
It was difficult to remember how it started. You and Junhui hadn’t been together for that long, but you had known him since the start of high school, and slowly you had become friends. You don’t remember when he started looking at you differently, or when you had noticed, and you don’t remember when he kissed you for the first time. All you remember was the shock that it hadn’t come faster.
It was never a moment of great romance or lust. Well, perhaps lust had been a part of it, but it wasn’t as if you and Junhui had harboured feelings for each other that set your face on fire with every glance. Even after you started sleeping together, you had never felt shy or timid around him, and he never found himself searching for your gaze across a room. It was more pent up frustration than anything, at everyone except each other. Your friends weren’t his, and his weren’t yours, aside from Soonyoung, whom you had a couple of classes with, and Chan, who would occasionally join you and Soonyoung for coffee or hang around when the two of you satisfied your bad habit of drinking somewhere on the outskirts of town until 3 in the morning. You probably wouldn’t have ever been noticed by Junhui had it not been for a few key meetings early in your freshman year.
The two of you were paired together for a history presentation on Japanese occupation of Korea that took 2 nights of staying up past midnight to finish, purely because the both of you had procrastinated starting it for far too long.
You accidentally spilled an iced americano on his friend Seungcheol, and he thought the way you practically fell to the ground apologising was cute (and the fact that Seungcheol kept complaining about the event to him).
The two of you were haphazardly shoved into a closet together by some drunk seniors who didn’t remember your names and ended up sharing a beer as you waited around  for someone to unlock the door.
Truthfully, it was the last event you remembered the best, and the minutes you two spent in a confined space were the only moments that gave you the confidence to run your palm over his crotch years later. But for Junhui, seeing the dedication you had to rush to complete your presentation while you were struggling to fall asleep at the ripe age of 14 was the moment that he remembered the best. He was always so impressed and fond of your dedication, how you never let anything hold you back. And, though he would never admit it, when your shirt rose as you leaned against the closet door and he took in the detail of your waist definitely helped him notice you.
Two and a half years later, two nights after senior year had started, and Junhui’s head was lolling in his hands as he recounted to you how badly he had screwed up trying to ask Jae out. All you could do was laugh at his story, and though he knew there was no malice behind your tone, he couldn’t help but feel frustrated with the world and wish for it to crumble, leaving him behind in the rubble.
As you do at 17.
“How am I going to even be able to face the school tomorrow Y/N? I have second period with Jae, what am I going to do?” Junhui cried out, tugging his hair in his fists. You were sat next to him, mouth half full with Hungry Jacks that had gotten cold as you sat there consoling your friend. “Jihoon is gonna laugh at me, I can feel it.”
You rolled your eyes, a hand on his back. “He’s your friend, he wouldn’t do that to you.”
Junhui's attempts to win Jae over by sneaking flowers on their desk had gone horribly wrong when the class realised how terribly allergic Jae was to roses - and of course that was the day that Junhui chose to sign a card nestled in between the thorns. His closest friends had graduated, and others were busy, working on assignments (or at least that’s what he had told you - truthfully he was much too embarrassed to see them, knowing that word would have gotten back to them), leaving him with only you to pour his heart out.
“Don’t be so sure! I’ve seen him beat Mingyu with a guitar-“
“That’s not the point Junhui,” As he stared up at you, you swallowed your burger as best you could and continued, “Because everyone has been rejected at some point in time, and you have a whole year to make new friends and find someone else you like.”
“But everyone else has already started!” He yelled out. “I’m falling behind.”
“I haven’t been in a relationship,”
“You and I are falling behind!”
“We’re not falling behind you dummy, it’s not a big deal.” No matter what you said, nothing seemed to calm Junhui.
“I just don’t want to be the only one who hasn’t had sex by the time we graduate,” He smiles bashfully in your direction. “Aside from you, of course.”
At this you shove him gently, and he starts to loosen up and let a few shallow chuckles out.
“Tell you what Junhui, if all else fails, you and I can be each others firsts.” You whispered, though you knew he had heard you. “Just to get it over with.”
“Just to get it over with.” He whispered back, but he knew you hadn’t heard him.
Tumblr media
“Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”
“I’m gonna need you to never even think those words again, and do not even consider finishing that phrase!”
“Because-"
Junhui smirked, and you shoved a pillow at his face before he could say anything else.
“Pick-up lines are a terrible way to ask someone out anyway.” Junhui looked as though he wanted to defend the objectively terrible flirting method he had chosen for himself, but you continued before he could say anything else. “They’re so cliche and impersonal, they’re really only good for a laugh.”
At this he sighed, shrugging his shoulders. “It worked though right? At least one of them made you laugh.”
You glared at Junhui and he giggled at your expression. Every line he spoke with that dazzling smile made you smile with glee, but as much of that could be attributed to the boy saying the pick-up lines as opposed to the lines themselves.
“Why do you want to practise flirting anyway?” You questioned, moving closer to him and settling your head on his shoulder.
“Okay, so there’s this student in my dance class, Minseo,” He looked over at you to gauge your reaction, but nothing in your face gave you away. “And I think they’re really cute. I wanna maybe, ask them out?”
You felt yourself nodding into his shoulder, and strangely a pit began to form under your stomach. Minseo.
“Well you’re not gonna win them over with cheesy pick-up lines, that’s for sure.” You lectured him, sitting up to face him. “What do you like about them?”
He smiled bashfully. “I don’t know them that well yet…”
“Great start.” You rolled your eyes playfully. “Honestly, the best way to make someone notice you is to compliment them, genuinely. People are full of themselves, they like knowing that other people like them.”
You turned his head towards you so that your eyes met. “Junhui, you are the most romantic person I know. Anyone would be lucky to date you.” He blushed, and you let go of his chin, your hand feeling strangely empty once you did. “See? A genuine compliment is so much better than an emotionless pick-up line.”
Slowly, Junhui sat up, sitting cross legged, and you did the same, following his move, until you two were sat face to face, barely three inches between your faces. He stared deep into your eyes, grabbing your hand softly.
“Y/N, you’re one of the kindest people I know. Plus you’re super hot. I don’t know how you haven’t gotten into a relationship yet.”
You felt yourself burn up under his touch, and instinctively you looked away to avoid his piercing gaze. You didn’t dare move your hand away from his though, there was something so comforting, so much like home, about having his hand wrapped around your fingers.
Junhui lifted both his hands in the air, grinning madly, moving out of your grasp. “It worked! It even made you flustered, didn’t it?” He teased, as you tried your best to quickly recover from whatever he had done to you.
What was this feeling? You couldn’t tell if you liked it or not. All you knew was that it was so completely the feeling of Junhui.

Diamond was so much sleazier than Mina had made it out to be. Cheap neon signs lit up the bar, and a black platform hosted a group of drunks lazily grinding against each other. The smell of cigarettes was overpowering, but not as bad as the yelling from the bar.
Despite this, Mina gasped with glee, and grabbed your hand, pulling you up to the counter to yell for shots. The rest of the group followed behind you, awkwardly stumbling through the crowds as they desperately tried not to lose the two of you.
“Twelve shots!” Mina yelled over the noisy bar, and gasped with glee as a bartender nodded back to her. “God he’s so hot, isn’t he Y/N?” She giggled to you, her voice shaking slightly. “And it would be legal for us to hook up now!”
You snorted. “As if you could even muster up the confidence to talk to him, let alone flirt convincingly.”
“I ordered didn’t I?”
“Have a conversation with him next time.”
She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. “I’m gonna find Haejun, he promised me we would dance, since you’re such a party pooper!” Her tongue poked out of her lips at you as she scrunched her nose, and you ruffled her hair playfully before she bounded over to your friend who beckoned her to the dance floor.
Just as the noise seemed to calm down, the bartender slid a tray of shots in your direction, and Soonyoung slipped into the stool beside you.
“Why did Mina order this many shots for herself?” He questioned, taking one and downing it quickly.
“Two each, I think.” You told him, following his action.
Soonyoung smiled, the alcohol already settling in as his face glowed a pale red. “It’s been a while since we went out, its a shame Chan couldn’t join us. And Junhui.”
You nodded nonchalantly, but at the mention of his name your interest was piqued. “You invited Junhui?”
“Yeah, I know you guys are close, and we never hang out with all of us.”
You nodded, twirling the empty shot glass around your fingers. “Why couldn’t he make it?”
“Oh, he didn’t tell you? He’s on a date with Minseo.”
Your heart stopped in its place.
Junhui had been on loads of dates since your arrangement. What you had wasn’t exclusive or romantic, and with his growing popularity, Junhui had been noticed by so many of your classmates, and he revelled in that. You never cared about his dates, especially as he never seemed that satisfied with them. The two of you would often laugh about the nights he spent with others later, before he ‘prepared’ for more with you.
Why didn't he tell you this time? You knew this day would one day come, where he would eventually slip out of your grasp and finally belong to someone. It was all he wanted, you knew that, and who would you be to stand in the way of that? But you would be lying to yourself if you said you were ready for that fateful day.
You set the shot glass down at the bar, grabbing another and downing it as quickly as you could. Soonyoung whooped, doing the same. You trailed your fingers up his arm suggestively, something you would have never had the confidence (or the will) to do sober, but the alcohol seemed to knock you back quickly. Luckily, it was doing the same to Soonyoung.
“Wanna dance?”

You had never really thought of yourself as a romantic. Honestly, up until fairly recently, you didn’t really think about romance in general. The perfect first meeting where you both see each other across the street and know, or the way that his hand would gently brush against yours before he took it and kissed you, or the path of flower petals leading you to a hand painted sign ‘Be mine?’ Those were moments that made you cringe even more than the cheesy pick up lines you had heard in dramas.
But Junhui was the epitome of romance. The way he would stare into your eyes, and his cheesy grin, or the way he would bump his head not focusing on his surroundings, only staring at you. Not you, of course, the royal you, because Junhui had never felt romantic feelings towards you. But you had watched him collect these romantic moments and use them liberally with all the classmates he had found himself falling for. It was a wonder no one had fallen for him.
It wasn’t like he was ugly, anyway. You had overheard so many compliments for him, hidden away where he couldn’t hear them, the way your classmates would lust for him, and would giggle as they talk about his tall frame, his bouncy hair, his long fingers. You grew arrogant as you thought about all the parts of him they found so attractive, and how they had felt pressed against your body late at night. But even better than that was the look on his face, the pride that would swell in his heart, as you recounted all the compliments and horny comments you had overheard. Bit by bit, over the time the two of you spent together, you could feel his confidence growing and repairing itself from early embarrassing rejections.
The best moment of those was, by far, when you overheard Hanna, who had rejected Junhui without a second glance in your sophomore year, leaving him heartbroken and you picking up the pieces of his shattered ego, practically moaning about his thighs, that you remembered riding just weeks ago. You had made sure to point out a pair of shorts hidden deep in his closet for him to wear, and ate up all the looks they gave in the halls as Junhui passed through.
Romance wasn’t your priority, but you were competitive, and knowing you had one of the most sought after men in school gripping your waist with his lips on your neck in the dead of night definitely boosted your ego. Plus, the more often you slept with Junhui, the more his ego grew in return, and the two of you steadily found yourselves basking in more attention than ever before. Suddenly, you found yourself turning down more men than you had ever wanted, and Junhui found himself constantly being stared at, with them all looking away and blushing with just one look from his direction, and he loved it.
But Junhui was a romantic, and was constantly pining. With his growing popularity, you knew it would be just a matter of time before he finally found someone who would want him back the way he wanted.
He never pined for you.

Your night did not end with a steamy hookup with Soonyoung, nor a romantic kiss and hang out with Junhui, which drunk you kept fantasising about, unbeknownst to your sober self’s wishes. No, instead your night ended with a sloppy makeout before you and Soonyoung came to your senses and practically sprinted away from each other, only for your drunk self to be dragged home by Amie who was herding your friends with an iron grip. Eventually you passed out on her couch, Dowoon beside you, and Mina, Haejun, and Soonyoung on the floor.
Mina’s soft groans below you stirred you awake, and you regretted letting her voice sway you almost immediately, your head pounding and the intense morning light slipping through the curtains seemed to only strengthen your nausea.
“Why did we drink so much?” You groaned, holding your head in your hands. Dowoon turned harshly, breaking your balance, and you struggled to stay on the couch. You were fighting a losing battle though, and eventually slipped off and onto the (thankfully carpeted) floor below, narrowly missing Haejun.
“Stop moving so much Y/N.” He whispered, shoving you away. “I can smell the essence time and it stinks of B/O and Jack Daniels.”
Mina giggled lightly. “That’s just Soonyoung.” You laughed along with her as quietly as you could, hoping to not worsen your growing hangover.
Soonyoung turned to glare slightly at the three of you, but he said nothing, opting instead to push himself off the floor and stumble to the kitchen. Amie shuffled quietly behind Soonyoung, passing him a glass of water, before bringing glasses out for the rest of you.
You guys should wake up, you’ll feel so much better if you get up for the day.” She suggested, running her hands up your arms.
“How are you so awake?”
“I saw you flirting with Soonie and realised we needed at least one sober person in this crowd of idiots.”
At her words, memories of the previous night came flooding back to you, and you shuddered at how embarrassed you felt. What was going through your mind, wanting to hook up with Soonyoung?? Sure, he was hot and fit, but he was practically your brother. Or more, your brother’s bad influence. Burdened with the same memories, Soonyoung glanced over at you and cringed.
“Don’t remind me. Please just let me sleep on the tiled bathroom floors forever.” You begged, wrapping your hands around Amie’s arms.
“Nope.”
“How dare you.”
The doorbell rang loudly, ricocheting through the living room, and a cacophony of moans from your fellow hungover idiots was summoned in response. “It’s open!” Amie yelled, and you shoved your head further into the floor, covering your ears.
“Y/N?” Chan’s voice was sweet and gentle early in the morning, and you felt so grateful for his presence, even if you couldn’t quite figure out why he was here. A hand was placed on your back, and you smiled, lifting your head to meet Junhui’s gaze.
Wait. Junhui?
“What’s going on?”
“Amie called Chan,” Jun explained softly, stroking your back. “He came to pick up Soonyoung, and I thought I’d come to take care of you.”
His words felt like a beautiful knife to the heart, and you greedily welcomed the pain of his love, knowing it would never be the kind of love you wanted from him. “Thank you.” Every loving glance, every calming touch, it would never be born of anything other than platonic feelings.
That was what you wanted at first, wasn’t it?
You don’t know when you fell for Junhui, but you had, and there was no going back, no recovering from someone like him.
“Let’s get out of here?” He cocked his head to the side. Cute. “We’ll get a greasy breakfast and work off that hangover, yeah?”
“Anything to get away from these losers.”
Tumblr media
“Oh god it was so embarrassing.” You hazily told Junhui about the events of last night as your headache wore off, and as you recounted all the embarrassing moments (that you could actually remember), Junhui seemed to eat them up with a grin that you wanted to slap off his face. Or perhaps kiss off. Who could tell?
“I can’t believe you kissed Soonyoung.” At Junhui’s reminder, you groaned loudly, letting your head lull forward, and he rubbed your back comfortingly, chuckling at your misfortune. “What would even possess you?”
The thought of you doing the same with Minseo. The thought of you moving on without me and leaving me and my broken heart craving for your touch with nothing to satisfy my desires the way you used to. Loving you and knowing you don’t love me back.
“I was really drunk, leave me alone.” You grumbled softly, leaving him to laugh even more. “Before we got drunk out of our minds,” You were dancing around the subject, unsure of whether or not to bring it up, to leave yourself open to his venomous memories. “Soonyoung told me you had a date last night with Minseo?”
Junhui smiled, and you felt your nausea come back tenfold, ready to excuse yourself to the public toilets or perhaps just the side walk before he spoke. “It wasn’t really a date, but we did go out to eat together.” Your heart lifted at this. It wasn’t a date. You hated the reassurance and hope that filled you at this. “I feel like it may be the first step though? At least we’re friends.”
Your stomach refused to settle, a combination of nerves, jealousy, and whatever alcohol was still in your system, but you were too afraid to even look up out of fear of throwing up.
“You okay Y/N? You don’t look so good.”
You shook slightly in your seat. “Can we get out of here before I start hurling?”
Junhui’s eyes widened and he guided you out of your seat and to the door, hastily placing a few notes down on the table before waving to the staff and rushing you home. You were so glad to step out of the heat of the restaurant, but Junhui’s hand on the small of your back did nothing to calm your nerves, and you felt yourself tense up even further.
All you hoped was that you could hold it in until you weren’t in Junhui’s car anymore.

As you walked into your physics classroom that next Monday, already dreading the class ahead of you, you froze when you locked eyes with Soonyoung, who was sat firmly in the seat next to yours. And why wouldn’t he be? That was where he had sat the whole year, right up close next to you. Only for the rest of the year, the two of you hadn’t been burdened with the embarrassing memories of a sloppy drunken makeout.
You walked up to your seat as slowly as you could without looking like a complete idiot (you’re confident that you only looked semi-insane at your pace, as opposed to completely, which was honestly good enough for you) and hesitantly sat down in your seat beside Soonyoung, who’s gaze was suddenly everywhere except for your direction. Great. Maybe it would have been less humiliating without Soonyoung’s obvious avoidance, but with it all you wanted was for an asteroid to hit you specifically and erase your existence, although thanks to your actions the memories could never be gone.
Your teacher began, saying, something, about energy and kilojoules, but you couldn’t focus. Honestly, physics already wasn’t your strong suit, and you usually had Soonyoung to joke around with and pass the time, but with his painfully obvious glances your direction every few seconds, only to dramatically look away, time seemed to drag on so much more slowly.
You spared a glance in his direction, and you watched as his neck went bright red as he pretended not to notice. Frustrated, you ripped a slip of paper out of your book, hoping no one heard you, and angrily scribbled onto it.
‘I’m sorry about last Friday. But can we just forget about it? You’re being so awkward.’
As you shoved the paper in his direction, Soonyoung’s eyes widened and he stared at the note you had written out. He gently wrote something back, passing it to you.
‘You’re not embarrassed?’
‘Yeah, of course I am, but I just wanna move on.’
He smiled, pushing your shoulder gently. “Why did you write it out? We always talk in this class and no one ever notices.”
“You were being so weird!” You whispered aggressively, secretly relishing in how quickly his awkwardness dissipated. “At least you’re back to normal, I like you so much more this way.”
“If I didn’t know any better I would say you have a crush on me Y/N.” He said suggestively, wiggling his eyebrows at you. “I mean you did kiss me.”
“Shut it Soon. You kissed back, are you sure you don’t like me?”
Your ego crumbled only slightly as he started to fake gag loud enough to gather the attention of your elderly lecturer, and he covered it with a fake cough. You patted his back to sell the lie, hoping it stung where you hit him. “Okay, I get it, point made.”
“Nah, you’re not that bad.” He finally let up when the curious gaze of your class moved away. “But I don’t tend to like people,” He looked around, making sure no one was listening in before leaning close to you and whispering softly. “that have feelings for someone else.”
Suddenly all the previous awkwardness you felt had rushed back. You looked over at Soonyoung alarmed, and he patted your shoulder comfortingly.
“How-“
“I know you way too well Y/N. I think a lot of people would miss it, but with my superior perception-“ You hit his shoulder at his arrogance. “It’s hard to miss the way you look at Junhui.”
You swallowed your racing thoughts. “But he doesn’t look at me the same way, does he?”
Soonyoung wished he could deny it, but he had nothing else to say.

Chan’s occasional slurping was the only noise that seemed to permeate the air as he desperately tried to get more bubbles from his milk tea through his straw. You and Soonyoung decided to skip class and get bubble tea to distract yourselves from the pain of unrequited feelings, and due to your good influence, Chan decided to tag along. You were a little embarrassed spilling your feelings about Junhui to not only one but two of his friends, but you couldn’t deny it felt comforting to have someone to talk to this about, even if they were his close friends. You could only defend it as they were your friends too, and you deserved a chance to rant about this. It was a little disheartening how confused they looked, even when they tried (and failed) to hide it.
“I’m still lost, when did you start sleeping with Junhui?” Soonyoung questioned, and Chan shoved him lightly, gesturing to your fragile state with wide eyes. “It’s just a lot of information! You guys have been together-“ You and Chan both sent a glare his direction. “Okay, not together, oh you know what I mean! For months now, and none of us knew about it, and now you’re in love with him and he’s got feelings for someone else, but hasn’t stopped, you know, being with you?”
You nodded slowly, mentally following Soonyoung’s timeline. “That’s pretty much it, yeah.”
Chan cut in. “You’re forgetting how he literally flirts with Y/N as ‘practise’ for when he gets into a real relationship- sorry.” He looked away sheepishly, returning to his milk tea that was now just a plastic cup of ice and pearls.
“Way to rub salt in the wounds, Chan.”
“Oh like what you were doing was any different.”
“It was so different!”
You shook your heads at them. “Can you guys please just shut up? I don’t wanna be mean or anything but this is killing me.”
The two boys shared a look before reaching over the table to hold you in their arms, hugging you comfortingly as you began to sob softly, feeling tears well up in your eyes, though you fought to not let them fall as best as you could, a battle you were so far winning. “God, how pathetic am I?”
“You’re not pathetic Y/N.” Chan spoke softly. “You can’t help who you fall for, especially when you’re basically dating them.”
“I just don’t understand how Junhui didn’t fall for them? He’s out here flirting with and kissing and doing the nasty with Y/N, how come only they’ve fallen?” Soonyoung leaned away from you to whisper at Chan, but you heard everything. They weren’t exactly conspicuous - they were talking over your back.
“Junhui would never have feelings for me.” You admitted sadly, wishing you were lying. “But me falling for him was basically inevitable.”
You got up, fanning at your eyes to try and see through the pools of tears at your waterline. Thankfully, the tears blurred your vision, and you couldn’t see the expressions on Soonyoung and Chan’s face.
“It just sucks that it’s gonna end soon. Now it’s just a waiting game, I guess.”

12:46.
Junhui was usually asleep by now, he could never really stay up as late as you, no matter how hard he tried to. It was almost endearing, but whenever he did try, you welcomed his presence. Late night conversations with Junhui were rare, which made them all the more enjoyable. Tonight was one such night.
“No way you would hook up with Fozzie over Oscar.” You accused, a mouth full of whatever chips Junhui had stashed under his bed.
“Oscar lives in a trashcan!”
“He’s a man of the streets. You just know he’s got some tricks up his sleeve.”
Junhui pinched your arm and grinned as you yelped out, twisting into his side. Moments like this were your favourite, much more than the stolen glances at school, more than the sex. The moments where the two of you were simply alone in the world, no matter how many people walked the streets ahead of you or yelled in the rooms beside you. Where you could talk about whatever dark secrets were on your mind, and it didn’t matter what you said, you knew he would never judge you or use what you said against you, and he knew the same of you. These were the moments that made you feel like what the two of you had wasn’t purely physical, even if thats all you would ever say they were. These were the moments that made you fall for him.
He smiled, a lovestruck look settled on his face. “That sounds like something Minseo would say.” In his awe, he seemed to miss the way you tensed and shuffled away from him, ever so slightly.
“How are you and Minseo?”
Junhui grinned, as if he had been waiting for an opportunity to bring them up, and you could only cringe slightly as you felt the knife plunge deeper and deeper into you, as if he was stealing every good feeling you had until you were just a shell of yourself.
“They’re so smart! I feel like every time they talk to me, I’m learning more about the world and myself and them all at once. And did you know that they speak Spanish, as well as Korean and English? God they’re so cool. And also…”
Junhui’s rambling seemed to go over your head. You had seen him in love before, sure, but not since having developed feelings for him, and it was much more bitter than you remembered it being. Or perhaps that metallic taste was the blood trickling out from where you were biting your cheek.
“And thank you for all your help, Y/N. I feel like when I finally do ask them out, I’ll know exactly what to do, thanks to you.”
When.
Your face hardened, which Junhui (finally) took notice of. He nudged you, waiting for you to say whatever was on your mind.
How can someone be so considerate and so ignorant all at once?
“When you ask Minseo out, we’re gonna have to stop,” You gulped, thoughts running wild trying to find the words you needed, “whatever this is.”
“Well, yeah,” Junhui’s smile never seemed to fade, but it was wavering uncomfortably. “We always knew this would be temporary though, until you or I found someone we actually liked.”
“No shit.”
You got up, pushing yourself out of Junhui’s arms. You crossed your own over your waist, resisting every temptation you had to crawl back to him and feel him under your grasp.
“I just mean, why even delay the inevitable?” Your throat closed, as if your body was resisting everything you tried desperately to say. “If we’re gonna end it, we may as well do so now, right? Just to make sure word doesn’t get back to Minseo.”
Junhui hadn’t been this quiet in a while, and you felt yourself shake slightly as you silently begged him to say anything.
“Do you not want to be friends with me anymore, Y/N?”
Anything but that.
Your resolve crumbled, and you wanted nothing more than to wrap your arms around the boy sitting cross legged in his bed. You approached with tiny footsteps, careful not to move too fast, as if he was close to running away, although you knew he would never.
“Of course not. I love you.” Your heart cracked with every word you spoke. “You’re probably my best friend. But I don’t want you to get hurt.” You needed to protect yourself from getting hurt. “And I’m worried how Minseo might take it if we delay this any further.”
The silence was palpable. You wanted to take back every word, but nothing would undo the pain you knew you had ultimately caused the second you let yourself fall. This was the only solution left.
“Is that really how you feel?”
No. “It is.”
“Okay then.”
12:53.
“I should go.” You awkwardly swayed side to side, wishing you didn’t have to leave.
“Do you need me to drive you home?” Junhui asked softly, and you almost burst into tears at his thoughtfulness. You were really gonna miss him.
“You should go to sleep Junhui, you look tired. I want to take a walk, anyway.”
He nodded slightly, moving to take off his shirt and jeans, before hesitating, instead inching towards the bathroom door, suddenly finding himself conscious of his every move around you, a feeling he hadn’t experienced for a long time now.
“Call me if you need anything.”
You moved to him to kiss his cheek, relishing in the feeling until the guilt settled when you realised this may well be the last time you ever do this. “Of course. Sleep well.”
Junhui said nothing in response, and you cringed at the way he heated up under your lips, as if he was so embarrassed by your touch. You walked away, letting the door gently shut behind you.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t seen Junhui outside of class for 2 weeks now. Aside from the time you guys ran into each other outside the entrance and awkwardly stood around for a couple of minutes before going in different directions, but you really didn’t want to think about that, because that pathetic interaction shouldn’t even count.
Your friends had become much more protective, opting to not leave your side if they didn’t need to. Soonyoung and Chan had become your personal body guards, and Mina and Amie joined them, despite none of you choosing to let them know what had happened. You told Soonyoung and Chan it was just too painful to think about and that you would tell Mina and Amie once exams had ended, and they accepted your explanation easily. In all honesty, that was only half of the reason. But just as much as you didn’t want to talk about it to protect your heart, you didn’t want to risk it getting back to Minseo, and ruining whatever budding romance there was between them and Junhui.
You hadn’t heard much about him, either. It was as if the school was somehow aware of the newfound distance between you and Junhui, and all the gossip and thirsty comments you used to hear suddenly dried up and disappeared. You were thankful you didn’t have to deal with the reminder of what you had lost, or more what you had let go, but the masochistic part of you wanted so desperately to know how he was doing. You had seen him hang around with his friends Wonwoo and Minghao a lot. Wonwoo was the same age as you and Soonyoung, and seemed to be a perfect replacement for you. You were lying if you said that thought didn’t make you feel just a little bitter.
Were you so easily replaceable? By Wonwoo? By Minseo?
“Y/N? I hope you’ve been paying attention.” Your maths teacher spoke harshly, her voice pointed and sharp, and it cut through the air and knocked you out of your thoughts as if pushing you to the ground. You definitely weren’t paying attention, but you didn’t need to point that out. She sighed loudly, crossing her arms. “Finals are next week, these are the last moments of tuition you’re going to receive. I wouldn’t want you to waste them.”
It was cherry blossom season. Soft pink hues crept through all the windows in school. You remembered the grand cherry blossom tree in Junhui’s backyard, how you would always see its bare branches in the dead of night if you so dared to look past his curtains. You knew if you were to return to his room, it would be in full bloom. But there was nothing waiting for you there anymore. Spring had finally arrived.
You were knocked back into reality at the sound of everyone packing up their things and the teacher erasing the board, and you lost your chance to sneakily take a photo of the board. Amie nudged you slightly, and you looked down at her hands to see a spare copy of the notes. You took them gratefully, hoping she saw your thankful glance.
The two of you walked out of class side by side, and she halted as the two of you approached a line of lockers. None of them belonged to either of you, but luckily they didn’t seem to belong to anyone walking the halls.
“I know something’s been going on, and I’m not gonna push you to tell me before you’re ready,” She began, and you felt yourself tense up in anticipation. “But I wish I could help you. You’re not focused at all, and you’ve got no energy. Honestly, you’re acting like you’re heartbroken-“
She didn’t mean it, you knew that. She didn’t know what was going on, but at her words you felt your eyes well up with tears, and unlike when you spoke with Soonyoung and Chan, and were prepared for this topic to approach, you couldn’t stop yourself from letting your tears fall, and with it your resolve crumbled. Before you knew it, you had started crying loudly, and Amie pulled your head into her chest, cooing softly and holding you, letting you cry.
You would have been so embarrassed, and you were later when you recalled this memory, had you been aware of your surroundings and your actions, but the combination of no sleep, no food, and emotions that couldn’t be tamed no matter what lost you all your inhibitions. No matter how gossipy high school was, your friends would be determined to make sure talk of your episode never got back to you, and with the amount of people stressing about exams you were sure you weren’t the only student that day to cry in the halls.
Most people seemed to ignore it anyway, barely a glance was cast in your direction. Only a pair of fateful eyes that watched you cry helplessly. Maybe you should have kept walking before you stopped in front of Minghao’s locker.

You had an exam at 8 the next morning, so why were you still awake at 1, having not yet studied the basics you would need to hope to pass?
This past weekend you had closed yourself in your room, not leaving unless you absolutely needed to, with only the intent to study, and this past weekend you had not so much as picked up a textbook. Granted, English was probably gonna be an easy A, but you were not doing a thing to make sure of it.
It was hard to focus anyway. Your phone had been blowing up with texts from numbers you didn’t quite recognise, so you had silenced it and turned it off after sending quick ‘I might disappear to study’ texts to your friends, and the curiosity of what people may be sending you was too strong to work through. You were doing your best to stay diligent and focused and you were determined to keep your phone off, but how were you supposed to write past papers when it was sitting, tantalising, just to your right on your desk? No, your only option was to distract yourself with trashy reality tv and hope you didn’t miss anything important. You’d turn your phone back on eventually, anyway.
The noise of thunder and rain that echoed through your screen was especially loud, but not as loud as the bang against your window, which made you jump in your seat and attempt to hide under your desk chair, if only you fit. You stared at the window, trying to calm your beating heart, until another bang sounded, accompanied by the hit of a small black pebble, the exact kind that line the side of your house where your window was.
You walked to the window and opened it to reveal Junhui’s figure standing awkwardly on the front lawn. He waved over to you, and you wanted to groan and close the window. Instead, you yelled out to him, “My parents aren’t home, you could have just rang the doorbell.”
“I didn’t know they weren’t home!”
“You know now!”
You quickly ran out of your room to unlock the front door and Junhui stepped inside, closing it behind him. It was at that moment that you realised how you were alone with Junhui, the boy that had broken your heart, and yet here he was with no explanation of why he was here, inches away from you, with no one else around.
The familiarity of this scene was almost nostalgic, until you remembered why it was no more, and stepped back, easing the tension between the two of you.
“Why are you here?” You asked gently, not daring to look up at him.
“I told you to call me if you needed anything.”
You looked up in confusion, finally meeting Junhui’s gaze, which was boring into you. It felt intense, but you couldn’t seem to look away.
“What are you talking about?”
“Three Tuesdays ago, when you ended things, I told you to call me if you needed anything.” He spoke, a tinge of frustration in his voice. “You haven’t called me.”
“I thought that was just about getting home safe.” You interjected, but felt yourself retreat as he stared back at you.
“You haven’t called me for anything, and you haven’t picked up my calls.” He continued, his gaze shifting, but never wavering.
“I turned my phone off-“
“Why were you crying?” He questioned, and you weren’t sure if he was about to start crying himself, or maybe your own view of him was distorted by your rose coloured glasses and teary eyes. “Minghao saw you crying on Friday, and I haven’t been able to call you since he told me.”
You couldn’t say anything.
“I know you wanted to end things, but we’re still supposed to be friends, Y/N.” He spoke softly, but you could tell his voice was on the verge of breaking. “I get that you don’t like me anymore-“
“Shut up.”
“What?”
“Shut up!” You yelled, and met his gaze angrily. You knew this time that there were tears clouding your vision, and they fell quickly down your cheeks. You couldn’t quite see his reaction, and you knew you didn’t want to. “That’s such bullshit, ‘I don’t like you’ you’re the one who doesn’t like me! You kissed me and flirted with me all you wanted, but the second someone you liked, and I mean actually truly liked, came along, they were all you could talk about! I had to sit there and listen to the man I’m in love with pine for someone else, and you want me to talk to you about why I was crying? Figure it out yourself.”
You dropped to the floor and hugged your knees as your tears fell down your cheeks. Junhui was silent, not moving for what seemed like an eternity, you almost wasn’t sure he was even there. Eventually, you felt a weary hand grace your back, and you recoiled harshly.
“Please just leave, Junhui.” You whispered. “I have an exam in the morning.”
He said nothing else, but you felt his presence retract. As the sound of your front door opening and closing permeated the air, your tears fell so much harder. You definitely weren’t going to be able to study tonight.
Tumblr media
You handed your physics paper over to the exam proctor and rushed to leave the hall, Haejun and Soonyoung following behind you. The second the three of you were out, you cheered and wrapped your arms around each other, your final exam over. Students all around you were celebrating the end, much to the frustration of the teachers in surrounding classes who had to retain their classes attention despite your chaotic whooping.
“I can’t believe its finally over!” Haejun yelled, slinging his arm over your shoulder. “Now all that’s left is graduation and then we’re finally free!”
The two of you jumped around the halls while Soonyoung seemed to stop, staring off into the distance. You followed his gaze curiously, only to wish you hadn’t the second you caught what he was staring at: Junhui, hand in hand with Minseo, kissing them softly under the trees. The cherry blossoms had started to fall, no longer in bloom, the flowers were rotting on the ground. Despite this, staring at the cherry trees was still a sight for a different, much more painful reason.
You felt yourself freeze, trying not to let Haejun see your excitement die, but he seemed to clue in fairly quickly. “Hey, let’s get out of here, yeah?” He asked softly, diverting your attention away. “We should celebrate!” He pulled you away without giving you a chance to retaliate, and you welcomed it. Soonyoung finally followed, only unlike you, he had caught Junhui’s regretful stare once you had begun to walk away.
Tumblr media
Two weeks after exams had finally ended and you could honestly say you felt better. Perhaps not fully over the heartbreak, but you had moved on. You weren’t spending all your waking moments thinking about Junhui, and you deleted his texts without opening them once, despite so much in you desperate for every word he would give you.
In another week you would graduate, and could be free of high school for good, but for now all you wanted to do was just hang out and spend time with your friends. Which is exactly how you ended up at a barbecue with Mina, Amie, Dowoon, Haejun, and Chan who was once again skipping class for you. You hoped that he wouldn’t continue doing this once you and Soonyoung graduated, but for the time being you weren’t going to reject his company.
The group of you were laughing at something Dowoon had said when you found yourself looking to the door as a group of guys quickly entered just as you were all getting ready to go. Soonyoung waved over from the entrance, and you and Chan waved back excitedly. Soonyoung and his group of friends approached you guys quickly.
“Ya, Chan, why aren’t you in school?”
“Hi Seungcheol…”
Soonyoung and his friends berated Chan while you pretended you weren’t the direct cause of his skipping class. Your eyes passed over the six faces currently yelling at Chan, until you reached the end and locked eyes with an all too familiar one.
Junhui.
He looked back at you, and even though you felt a tug in your heart, you cracked a gentle smile at him, which he quickly returned. You’ve missed him, but not as much as you used to.
Your group finally got up, vowing to return Chan straight to class and make sure he does his homework. You waved goodbye to everyone before passing them to get through the door. Soonyoung waved goodbye, knowing he would see you and Chan soon again, and watched as Junhui’s eyes followed you out the door, knowing there was something more than just friendship behind them.
But it was too late to take back what he had done, too late to take back what you had said. Junhui wished you had asked him to stay. Maybe in another life things would be different. But daylight had come, and with it you were gone.

there you'll be || day6 [psj]
Warnings: major character death, heavy angst(?)
I won't control you, but MINORS DO NOT INTERACT. This is not for you, please.
Pairings: Park Sungjin/(F) Reader, implied past Yoon Dowoon/(F) Reader
Plot: What if you only have today to say goodbye?
Genre: Established Relationship
I keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am, there you'll be
This was written 8-9ish years ago, and re-written and posted on ao3 3 years ago.
This concept came from my sister's dream, and she asked me to write it, and probably the main reason why i decided to have an ao3 account lmao
This was originally written with a different fandom and pairing and was supposed to be a part of this fic universe i wrote (but didn't finish). Re-written so it can be better, I guess (hope)??? but the concept is still the same with some major changes tho
Reposted here because there is a tragic lack of day6/reader fics uwu
anyway, all readers are appreciated! luvluv

6:00 – 7:00 a.m.
Y/N woke up to an irritating sound. It was this shrill beeping sound that made her want to hurl the object at the wall.
When she opened her eyes, she reached for the alarm clock and turned it off. "Shut up," she said, exhausted, and looked at the time. 6:00 am.
For an ordinary Saturday morning, six am is way too early. After dropping out of the university from her second course and running away with Sungjin, Y/N's life has changed; from the simplest things like her sleeping pattern to the biggest ones like missing her family. She wouldn't say she regrets it, she just wishes the situation was different.
Her usual weekends start at nine, and she always wakes up before Sungjin does. She would often be the one to go down to make breakfast for the two of them.
Sometimes though, when struck with an ahem inspiration, she would wake him with a lazy hand job—or a blowie, whichever she prefers—until he slightly shifts position and fist the bed covers. Slowly peppering his hips with kisses until Sungjin groans in annoyance to whichever is rousing him from his beloved, peaceful sleep. Y/N has to stifle her laughter because she knows just how grumpy he is when woken up 'too early', but how he won't be able to stay mad at her. He'd smile down at her and say in that sexy just-woke-up voice of his that he'd go back to sleep so Y/N can go ahead with what shennanigans she was trying to do.
Today though, that was not the case. She has to get up early because the local high school she volunteers at made a weekend program for writing and music. Every second Saturday, she would be facilitating two classes; a writing workshop in the morning, and the music sessions in the afternoon. Sometimes, she would take Sungjin with her, and he would teach the students how to play the guitar.
After switching the alarm off, Y/N got up and stretched her legs and arms, loving the way her joints popped as sleep from her muscles fade.
It's also during this time of the day, however, that she can't help but think of her life before this.
It has been five years. Y/N is sure her children doesn't recognize her anymore. After running away with the boyfriend of her ex-husband's twin brother, she's sure Dowoon would never let her be a part of their children's lives anymore, no matter how much he used to love her. Betrayal would definitely kill people.
Y/N padded sleepily to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
After getting ready for the day, she went down to cook some breakfast for them. Before leaving the house, she decides to check on Sungjin and wake him up early for his doctor's appointment. He sleeps through the alarm, and might miss his appointment.
She opens the door to their room quietly and see Sungjin's still sleeping form on the bed. She gently shakes him, just enough to wake him up.
"Sungjin?" She shakes him again when he doesn't respond. "Babe? Wake up."
Sungjin hums, cracking an eye open. "I'd be going," she says with a soft smile.
"Hmf... don't you want me to go with you?" He asks sleepily as he rubs his eyes. Y/N shakes her head, running her fingers through his hair.
"It's fine. You have your appointment today with Dr. Park, remember? Wouldn't wanna miss that." Sungjin pouts, and she smiles. "I'll bring home that Kimchi stew you like."
"Yeah?" He smiles at her hopefully through bleary eyes.
"Yes. So get your lazy ass up now, or you'll have to rush again." She slaps his bum and kisses his lips before she stands up. "I'll be home early. Get up now, 'kay? Love you." She shuts the door to the bedroom just in time to hear the faint and almost muffled love you too from Sungjin.
She leaves the house minutes later, not helping the smile on her face. She thinks that at the end of the day, after all the heartbreaks and challenges they had to face, running away with him is always worth it.
9:40 am
Y/N gives the students their second writing exercise for the day. She walks around the room and smiles down at Charlie, one of her favorite students in the writing program. The kid is really talented in writing.
Y/N wonders fleetingly about her twins. She wonders if they will inherit their father's love for music books, or her love for long novels? She puts her arm around the other and smiles to herself. She wants to see her children badly and maybe, just maybe, have some with Sungjin in the future.
10:30 am
Y/N was just about to tell her students to take a 15-minute break when she heard a commotion outside. One of the teachers ran up to her classroom with panic in her eyes. Y/N immediately knew something was wrong.
"What is it?" she asked.
"There's someone with a gun!" It took Y/N a minute to fully get that. "He's in the building. Send your students out."
She didn't need to be told twice. "Class, I need you to leave everything behind and quickly exit the room." She tried to keep her voice even so as not to alarm them. She didn't want them panicking, even though she felt like throwing up.
"Now!" She hoped her students can forgive her for raising her voice (she never does), but now's not the right time to think about that. Both teachers looked out while the students filed out of the room hurriedly.
"Did someone call 911?" she asked as the last student got out of the room. The other teacher's answer was cut short by the sound of gunfire, followed by screaming.
"Go, go, go!" Y/N yelled at the students as they all ran towards the direction of the stairs.
Y/N was nearing the stairs when pain blooms in her shoulder. She didn't dare look back as a second one hits her back, then her leg. That's when she lost her balance, and crumple to the ground face down. She heard more screaming as students ran for their lives before she felt the bullet to her neck, and she's—
12:00 pm
Y/N raises her head from the table with a gasp.
Disoriented, she looks around and blinks. She doesn't know she had been snoozing. Had she been snoozing? It feels like she had only blinked.
Huh.
She looks at the clock; 12:00 pm.
She hears the chatter of the students outside as she sees the essay exercises on her table. When she looks up, however, the classroom is a mess. The students' things are everywhere, and the chairs are all askew.
She remembers the panic and running, but nothing else. What happened after that?
She tries to recall as she flexes her head, pressing lightly at the pain in her neck. Not being able to come up with anything from her bizarre dream(?), she starts to clean up the mess.
1:08 pm
Y/N had successfully cleaned up the messy classroom by herself. She didn't notice that there were no students on the floor anymore. She slung her bag to her back and locked up the classroom.
It wasn't until she reached the second floor that she saw another soul. It was, however, a police officer.
What the...?
She walked towards the man, and called out to him.
"Excuse me?" He didn't seem to notice her. She called out to him again to no avail, the police turning his back on her.
"What the fuck?" Bothered, she continued down to the ground floor, where she saw more police officers.
She tried to talk to another police officer, but she was still ignored. She was getting frustrated and weirded out with each passing second. It's like they cannot see her. She didn't understand what's happening and felt her head spin, eyes prickling with tears of confusion.
She looked around, and finally, one person seemed to see her. The lady was looking straight at her. Relieved, Y/N walked towards her; she didn't know why, but she felt compelled to talk to her.
When she was close to the lady, she tripped a little on her own feet. She looked down and when she looked back up, the lady vanished.
"Looking for me?"
Y/N spun around to reveal the lady that had been staring at her.
"Yes..." Y/N said, torn between feeling embarrassed and confused. "But, you're there before. How...?"
The lady smiled at her. "You have more important questions to be answered, don't you think?" Y/N, who was dumbfounded, had just managed to nod.
"Come with me," the lady said. She turned around and started walking away, not waiting for Y/N to respond.
1:45 pm
Y/N cannot believe her eyes. She, or more accurately, her body, has been lying on a body bag in the quadrangle.
"B-but... h-how...?" She can only stammer in confusion.
This is just not possible. Y/N tries to breathe in and out to stop the spinning of her head, clutching her hands in each other.
She finally turns to the lady beside her, who is still staring at her lifeless body.
"You got killed," she answers Y/N's unspoken obvious question. "You're one of the last people he'd managed to kill before he was taken down by the police."
When the lady points at the bullet hole on her neck, a picture flashes through her mind.
Y/N remembers the pain through her shoulder, then her back and leg. Lastly, she remembers the blinding pain on her neck after falling to the ground.
After long minutes of disbelief, Y/N finds it in her to finally speak, her voice hoarse from the brimming emotions in her eyes. "I'm dreaming, aren't I?"
She badly wants to believe that maybe she was really just dreaming. Maybe this is all just a practical joke. By whom, she doesn't know.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." Her companion just shakes her head. "I'm so sorry."
That was the last straw for Y/N. Tears pour from her eyes as her world comes crashing down and her dreams shatter. She falls to her knees as she sobs her heart out.
She isn't ready to die yet.
Maybe this is payback for everything she did, for everyone she killed.
Sungjin.
How is he supposed to move on? How is she supposed to move on?
"Sungjin." She sniffs. "Don't I even have the chance to say goodbye? I wanna say goodbye to him."
"You only have until before midnight," the lady says.
"Thank you," Y/N replies.
The lady just smiles at her sadly, her eyes telling her that she understands how she feels. She wonders briefly if they had been in the same situation. The lady vanishes right before her eyes, leaving Y/N with a broken heart.
2:50 pm
She looks for Sungjin at the clinic, but he was not there. She goes home and he was there, sleeping soundly on the sofa. His arm has a band-aid, for his tetanus jab.
Sungjin hates getting shots the most. Y/N knows he hates hospitals and injections, and has a big mistrust with the institution, and it makes her chest swell with love for him.
It makes her heart shatter, though. It's so hard to leave and say goodbye to someone you had forsaken your world for, especially when you're starting to think that everything is turning out fine. She was just starting to build her world with him, planning their future and thinking of having kids.
Sungjin looks so peaceful and beautiful, having no care in the world that Y/N just wants to frame this moment. She knows she can't, so she'll just watch over him for as long as she can. Maybe it will last longer than taking a picture, or maybe it can stop the time. If not, then she can at least keep this picture embedded in her mind before she disappears forever.
3:38 pm
Sungjin shifts from his position, rubbing his eyes and yawning on his hands. Y/N wipes her eyes with the back of her hand so he won't see the tears that had been steadily streaming down her face for the past hour. His eyes find her, and smiles that beautiful smile she fell in love with.
It sends her heart skidding on the floor, and to splinter a little more at the thought of leaving him. She bites her lip to keep the tears from falling further, and smiles back at him.
"Hey," she says, barely keeping her voice steady.
"Hey," Sungjin smiles at hear again, but his smile crumples when he takes in her bloodshot eyes and runny nose. He shoots up and engulfs her in a tight hug.
It was the wrong thing to do as Y/N loses it again, tears escaping down her cheeks. He rubs her back soothingly.
"What's wrong?" he asks. "Are you okay?"
"I love you. Please never ever forget that," is all she can say.
"And I love you more." Sungjin pulls away and cups her face into his hands. "Now tell me what's wrong—and don't you try to lie. I know you so well."
She debates telling him because he deserves the truth, but she can't find the right words to say. "I'm fine," she sniffs and shakes her head. "I'm okay."
"You're definitely not okay." He pulls away and holds her arms. He frowns when he notices her body's dropped temperature. "Where have you been? You're awfully cold!"
"I'm fine. School's let out early." Y/N sits up straight and smiles, wiping at her tears. "Did you—have you seen the news?"
Y/N is nervous to ask that, but she has to know. She knows he would be shattered when he knows that he's talking to a ghost. Technically, Sungjin can still touch her, but she's already a ghost.
She also can't forgive herself for breaking their promise of forever.
"Not yet," Sungjin says. "I was so tired and sleepy so I had to go straight home. But we can turn on the TV anyw—"
"No!" Y/N grips his hand, cutting him short of turning on the TV. She looks close to tears again that he raises his eyebrows in surprise.
"No." Y/N composes herself with a fake smile to appease the surprised features on his face. "I'm just asking. I'm sorry for yelling."
"You're acting weird," Sungjin says.
Y/N puts on her best I'm-okay face and smiles at him. "I'm okay. I just had a snooze at work and I had a bad dream."
I wish this was all just a bad dream.
"I just want to make sure you don't forget I love you, you know? Despite everything that happened to us." She looks down and smiles sadly. "I'm sorry I made you worry for nothing."
Sungjin pouts, but pulls her into another hug. "It's fine, babe. I just love you more and more every second because you're the only person who loved me truly, and never left me."
Y/N's heart can't get any more broken.
5:55 pm
For the past few hours, Y/N and Sungjin were just curled up on the loveseat. They were watching a sappy romcom that seemed to mock her in the face as it was about leaving a loved one behind and coming back for them. On the other hand, it's a good reason for her to cry her eyes out without raising suspicion, safe and snug under Sungjin's arms.
Too bad, the peace doesn't last forever.
7:40 pm
Y/N is currently waiting for Sungjin to come back. She originally opposed to the idea because she has a bad feeling about it, but he said that he needs to get some food (since Y/N forgot to bring home some). It has already been an hour since he went out, and the store was only a 15-minute walk—five if you use a car.
What is taking him so long?
8:20 pm - 9:45 pm
Y/N was just about to go looking for Sungjin when the front door opens and shuts with a slam. Next came the heavy footsteps that sounded urgent and almost running.
Y/N stands up and was about to see if it was him (who else would it be?), when he comes running into the living room. He was panting and has a disheveled appearance, eyes puffy with the evident tear-stained tracks in his face.
Shit.
"Sungjin...?" Y/N steps forward, but Sungjin steps backwards. "Babe...?"
"Who are you?" he asks as he tilts his head to the side, an incredulous, almost crazed look in his eyes.
"What?" she asks, knowing fully well what is going on. "It's me, Y/N! What kind of stupid sh—"
"You're NOT Y/N!" Sungjin almost yells. He walks towards her and shakes her by her shoulders. "Who are you? What did you do to her?"
"Babe, it's me!"
"No!" He lets go of her and walks to the other side of the room, his back against her. He turns around, and he has tears in his eyes. "You're not her."
"I am!" she cries out, but he refuses to listen. His mouth is curled in an angry sneer. "I know it sounds absurd, but I came back for you... to say goodbye."
"How can I believe that, huh?" he laughs, but there is no humor in his voice. "Ghosts are not real, whoever you are."
Oh.
"How can you expect me to believe what you were saying?" he asks, but she can't give him an answer. "Answer me!" he screams when she stays silent.
Y/N suddenly feels tired. Heartbroken.
"I love you," she says instead. She looks down at her hands, and see that she is starting to fade as time passes by.
Sungjin laughs a ruthless laugh, not noticing the change in her, and it breaks her heart even more. She can't find it in herself to cry, mainly because she's already cried out as heck, and it's not like it will change anything.
"Just stay away from me," Sungjin says, face taut with anger. "Get the fuck out of my house."
Y/N can only nod. She debates reaching out to touch him, but backs out at the last second. She leaves her coat by the door, and gets out into the cold night.
She's already cold, anyway.
11:15 pm
Y/N begins to think about how her life has been and thinks how far she'd come. She's pretty proud of herself for coming this far.
She would want to say goodbye to her kids and to Dowoon as well, but it's not like that's in the cards right now.
She looks at her wristwatch, the one Sungjin gifted her for her birthday.
11:15 pm.
Right, 45 minutes left.
It's funny how she can't cry anymore, probably because she's past the sixth stage of grief. She thinks she had already accepted that she will be gone by midnight, and crying makes no sense at this point. It's not like it'll bring her back, or bring Sungjin back.
Speaking of which, she looks to her left and there Sungjin is at the other side of the park. She's pretty sure he hasn't seen her yet, so she stands up and keep her head down.
She walks toward a more secluded part of the park, not risking a glance back at him. She doesn't want to fight with him again. She'd rather go quietly without an affair, than have a big blow up with Sungjin. After all, this what she's good at; running away.
"Y/N!"
Ah, shit.
Y/N tries to walk faster without seeming like she was running away from him. If she runs away, he'll know she heard him. Y/N walks on, chanting a nopenopenope in her head.
Nope, indeed.
Nearly there.
"Y/N, please," Sungjin says, sounding out of breath and too near. "Wait."
Just keep yourself together.
"Y/N!" Sungjin grabs her wrist, spinning her around.
Her gaze lands on her wrist, and she sees that she was fading away fast. She pulls her hand back to her fast, careful not to draw attention to it. Too late though, because Sungjin's eyes are drawn to it.
She pulls the sweater's sleeve to cover her wrist and clear her throat. "Yeah." She laughs awkwardly. "Sorry 'bout that."
"It's true, then." Sungjin's face crumple. He looks younger, almost like a kid. "I was hoping it was just delirium from the shots."
She laughs quietly. "You don't get delirious from shots."
Silence.
Y/N takes a deep breath, and smiles like her heart's not on fire. "I'll be going."
"Where?" he asks in a small voice.
She shrugs. "Hell, maybe?"
That turns out to be the wrong thing to say, because Sungjin bursts into tears a few moments later.
No, no, no.
"I'm sorry," she says as she takes a step towards him. She suddenly stops, him asking her to stay away still ringing in her ears.
"I'm sorry," even though she doesn't know if she's saying sorry for the joke or for ruining his life. "Sorry."
"I was hoping—" he says as he hiccups, wiping at his tears. "I was hoping this was all just a practical joke."
Y/N smiles sadly, still keeping her distance. She badly wants to pull him into a hug, but she can't.
"Do you regret it?" she asks him after a minute of silence. He looks at her and it breaks her heart, but she just can't bear not knowing before leaving. "Do you regret choosing me?"
"No," he insists, shaking his head. "Never."
She nods with a small smile. Me, too.
"Thank you," she says. "That's all I need to know."
She turns toward the other side of the park, but he walks in front of her and blocks her way.
"Don't go," he begs almost desperately. He kneels in front of her and hugs her legs, still crying like a kid. "Please just take me with you."
"Sungjin..."
"Please," he cries harder. "Please please please."
Y/N unwraps his arms around her legs, and kneels with him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Please don't leave me," he cries on her sweater. "You're all I have."
11:55 pm
Five minutes.
They spent the last almost-hour talking and crying. They reminisced about everything, and Y/N apologized, mostly. Everything she failed to say, and failed to make him feel. She spared nothing.
She looks at her wristwatch. 11:55 pm.
Her hands are almost transparent at this point.
"I'm sorry if I wasn't able to keep my promise" she says, taking Sungjin's hand in hers. "I mean it when I said I love you, and I want you to be happy—"
"—I can't be," Sungjin replies. At least he had stopped crying, but it looks like he was about to again.
Three minutes.
"Close your eyes, babe." He does, and she kisses his lips one last time.
"I'm gonna miss you," she says. "I'll wait for you, okay?"
"I won't take long." Sungjin's voice is quivering.
One minute.
"I love you." Her skin starts to glow while she was speaking, her body flowing like ashes in the wind and drifting upwards.
"I love you, too," Sungjin says.
When he opens his eyes, he was alone on the park bench.
He stays there for a long time, wishing she heard him.
She did, and she carried his love with her to the dark skies.

You sat with your headphones covering your ears, listening to music and scrolling through Instagram.
You massaged your temple while glaring at the girls hovering around Yoon Dowoon, one of the most popular guys in your class. You continued glaring at them, noticing how Younghyun, one of the other popular ('bad boy') guys in not only your class but your entire school, glared at those same girls.
Before you could get up to confront the Dowoon Fanclub, Younghyun beat you to it:
"Would you people shut up?" One of the girls raised her hand as if she were going to hit him. He shook his head in disbelief, scoffing as Dowoon pushed up from the chair and left the class, his Fanclub not far behind. You sighed, Sungjin and Wonpil who were sitting in front of you turning around in their chairs to look at you.
"What's up with you?" Wonpil asked you, propping his chin on his forearm. You look him over before you took off your headphones.
"What's it to you?" Sungjin laughed, Wonpil elbowing him playfully. You couldn't help but smile at them. They were kinda cute, what could you say?
When the two guys went quiet and you saw Sungjin staring at Eunhi, Jaehyung's childhood best friend. It clicked immediately.
He liked her.
The thought alone made your heart ache painfully. And don't get it wrong, it wasn't because you liked Sungjin. It was just because you knew what he was going through. Biting the inside of your cheek your gaze found its way to Younghyun. Younghyun, who was on his phone and had such a nice side profile and— you shook your head. Get out of your head.
"Is there something on my face?"
Your eyes widened as you heard the familiar voice of Kang Younghyun. You had to swallow nervously, feeling everyone's eyes trained on your face. You were known as the quiet-but-not-to-be-messed-with kid in the class. Most people steered clear of you since you were pretty intimidating with hard stares and looks of dislike. The only people anyone knew you talked to regularly was Wonpil and Sungjin, and on occasion class-clown Jaehyung.
"You just gonna ignore me, then?"
Younghyun turned his phone face-down on his desk. You kept quiet, still staring at him like a kid with their hand stuck in a cookie jar. From out of the corner of your eye, you saw Eunhi get up from her chair. She stood up in front of you, obscuring your figure from Younghyun's fox-like eyes.
"Cut it out, Younghyun." She warned him. You tried to say something but your voice just refused to work. You hated this situation. You knew that Eunhi liked Younghyun. And from what you had noticed recently, Younghyun liked her back. This was why your and Sungjin's situation was so relatable. You both could sympathize for each other.
"Isn't it obvious?" Your head snapped to the side, gaze landing on Dowoon.
"What is?" Younghyun asked him, standing up.
"Don't you dare, Yoon Dowoon." You warned, suddenly having regained your voice. Dowoon smirked, taking a daring step forward. He made eye contact with Younghyun, hands in his pocket.
"She—" before he even had a chance to utter the words, you tackled him down, your hand covering his mouth as you straddled him. You had a hand around his throat, having put it there subconsciously.
"Wow, Y/N. Shouldn't you get a room before showing off your bedroom antics?" Kim Seokjin, the pretty boy of the school said with a smirk. Going red in the face, you sprung up. Dowoon looked shocked, a pink hue tinting his ears as he stared at you open mouthed. You hadn't even realized how Younghyun was staring at you, Wonpil and Sungjin completely speechless.
"Do me next!" Jeon Jungkook called, snickering with his group of friends. Grabbing a book from Sungjin's table you chucked it at Jungkook and his friends. Jungkook ducked, looking at you wide eyed. You turned to Dowoon, pointing at him threateningly.
"Keep your mouth shut or I’ll tell your mom you’re sleeping around."
The class hollered at your comment, Dowoon going pink in the face.
You grabbed your things, rushing out of the room. You bit down on your lip, pushing past Younghyun gently and jogging out. If it wasn't already obvious, that was sure to sell you out. Sungjin glared at Dowoon, pushing past Eunhi and Younghyun to go after you. Younghyun looked over everyone in utter confusion. "What the hell just happened?" He asked as Eunhi turned to look after Sungjin. Did he suddenly like Y/N? Hadn't he confessed to her on the day when she helped Younghyun get away from his dick of a boss? Biting her lip, Eunhi went to sit back next to Jaehyung.
———
You were sitting in the park with Sungjin. It was just past 7pm, and the night breeze was soothing.
"He makes my heart ache..." You sniffled, leaning against his shoulder. Sungjin bit his lower lip. Once again, they were in the same situation.
"I'm so sick and tired of loving him when I know he doesn't love me back..." You cried. Sungjin felt so hopeless. He slowly shifted so that your face was pressed into his shoulder, his shirt slowly getting wet with tears.
Still crying into his shirt, you choked out what you were feeling, not at all aware of Younghyun who was hiding behind a tree in his work clothes:
"I'm alone..." You wailed, clutching at Sungjin's shirt as if it were your lifeline. Younghyun turned to look at you and his heart broke. Slowly. It broke agonizingly slow. "Only the cold night air is by my side." You continued, pressing yourself into Sungjin.
"You have me, Y/N. You have me..." Sungjin soothed, patting your back gently. You cried, your breathing ragged as you held onto Sungjin. Younghyun left soon after that, heading into the convenience store where he was working. When he got there he layed on the counter, phone in hand as he tried his best not to think about you and how you were crying now, and all because of him. He was so dense. How hadn't he realized how Y/N, one of the coldest people he had ever met was so much gentler towards him?—
"Younghyun!" He snapped out of his reverie, looking up to make eye contact with Eunhi.
"Eunhi, hey!" He said with a smile, though he was sure it didn't reach his eyes.
"When do you finish? I saw the park near here is empty. It would be great for some stargazing!"
"Wait, it's empty? Sungjin and Y/N weren't there?" Eunhi looked nervous as she nodded.
"Yeah. I went to say 'hi' but Y/N suddenly got up and left. And she took Sungjin with her before I could even say 'hello'. She looked upset..." Eunhi muttered, trailing off as she realized that Younghyun wasn't listening anymore.
"I don't think I can go tonight. Some other time, maybe?" He asked, distracted with whatever he was thinking about.
"Uh, yeah.. Sure."
When Younghyun left that night, he finally realized something... He screwed up big time.
———
You entered the classroom that morning, hand in hand with Sungjin and a tired smile on your face. When you sat down the class hollered, Wonpil looking at the two of you with a smile.
"What'd I miss?" He asked. You shook your head, letting go of Sungjin's hand reluctantly.
"I think I've finally gotten over him." You said quietly. Sungjin smiled at you and you smiled back. Deep down you knew you weren't over him. Sungjin knew that too. But you two could work through the pain together. You yelped as you were dragged out of the room by your wrist. You turned around to confront them but your voice died in your throat at the sight of Younghyun so up close and personal. Your heart was beating in the back of your throat. His hands were soft against your skin and—
"I need to talk to you." He said, his voice sending shivers down your spine. As he continued pulling you along, he was stopped when Sungjin grabbed his arm tightly.
"What do you think you're doing?" He said.
The tension was thick enough to suffocate you. Younghyun glared at Sungjin, quite a bit taller than him. He stepped closer. "Get your hands off of me." He snarled. You gently took Sungjin's hand from Younghyun's arm, looking at him.
"He's—" You cleared your throat, willing your voice to go higher than a whisper.
"We're just going to talk." You assured him gently. Younghyun felt the jealously welling in his chest with how gentle you were with Sungjin. Sungjin let him go slowly, glaring at him warningly. Younghyun stared at him as he took you away.
Standing outside, you leaned against the wall and watched him nervously. You swallowed the lump in your throat as he stared you down, hands in his pockets.
"Is there something on my face?" You quoted him, a nervous smile on your face as he chuckled.
"Cute..." He muttered. Jaw dropping, you looked at him in complete shock.
"Did you just...?"
"Uh. Listen, Y/N. I uh.. saw you, last night. With Sungjin."
You went silent immediately. That means he...
"You saw me break down didn't you..." You looked down. He pitied you. You're never meeting him like this again.
"Pity. I have to go." You said, voice breaking near the end. Before you could though, Younghyun put his hands on either side of you, efficienctly confining you. Your heart was beating so quickly you were sure that you would faint soon.
"It's not that, Y/N. I just... I realized that instead of trying to avoid my feelings for you and leading Eunhi on—"
"You.. You what?" You asked completely blanking out.
"I like you, Y/N. I just couldn't find the confidence to tell you—" before he could finish you cupped his cheeks, effectively shutting him up.
With no afterthought, you brought him closer, standing on your toes and bringing your lips together. Younghyun was shocked for a moment, but his hand quickly moved to your waist, pulling you closer. After a moment or two more you pulled back and hugged him.
"Thank you for loving me back..." You whispered. Younghyun smiled, hugging you back tightly.
"Always."

Once Upon a Time | Nine

strangers to lovers au
pairing: Younghyun x fem!oc
genre: fluff, angst
masterlist
warning: a very short chapter
Since their father’s death, Dahee and Dowoon becomes closer than before as they have resolve all their conflict.
The only problem that Dahee need to solve is, Younghyun.
The last time she met with him was during their last project presentation, the time she pushed him away from her.
Dahee tried contacted him in every types, let it be through phone calls, messages, emails, Dahee even goes to his own apartment but Younghyun still didn’t want to meet her.
She becomes more frantic looking for Younghyun when Dowoon told her that Younghyun will go back to Canada for some time. Dahee can’t let him go, well at least before she apologize to him after what she had done to him.
So when the group knew when Younghyun gonna depart to Canada, they immediately told Dahee even though they knew he want to keep it secret from her—they can’t let the lovers separate with unsolved conflicts between them.
“Are you sure he gonna depart today?” Dahee nervously asked his brother who was driving the car to the airport.
“I’m 110% sure! Younghyun hyung told Sungjin hyung the other day he gonna depart today.” Dowoon replied as he glance over his sister at the side who can’t sit still at the seat.
“Then speed up. I don’t want miss seeing him, at least before he departs.” Dahee urges, tears threaten to spill thinking about not seeing Younghyun after he goes back to Canada.
As soon as Dowoon parked the car at the side, Dahee immediately get off the car and start running into the airport, looking the man she longed for.
Her heart wrenched in pain as she runs with all her might but no sight of Younghyun were seen.  The airport filled with crowds which makes her even harder to look for him.
“Younghyun where on earth are you? I’m so sorry” Dahee sobs, lowering her head as heavy tears falls on her rosy cheeks. Thousands of thoughts and memories runs through her mind right now as regrets felt all over her body.
Regrets for pushing him away.
Regrets for not accepting his efforts.
Regrets for not accepting his love.
Dahee’s sobs is overpowered by the loud speaker played for departing announcement throughout the airport.  As soon as the announcement made, countless of people made their way to the depart gate—passing by Dahee who is getting herself together, thinking she has lost Younghyun before she could do anything to fix between both of them.
Mustering her strength, Dahee wipes her tears off her eyes and cheeks as she turns around, walking away from her spot just now.
However, as Dahee took a few steps, she caught a familiar face that stares at her that made her track stop
It’s Younghyun, with his luggage at the side.
As if on switch, her tears once again rolled down her cheeks as she made way to Younghyun.
Dahee didn’t know if the tears is the happy tears because she found him or sad tears because he’s leaving her.
“Youn—” Dahee tries to speak to him as she stands in front of him
“What are you doing here?” Younghyun interrupts her—he didn’t miss out on how baffled Dahee is when he cuts her off.  He take a good look on her face—the face that he will miss later however, part of him still hurt from what she had done to him.
His words really stung right into her heart, it’s really hurt her when she heard Younghyun spat the words coldly but she just accept because she knows he hurts more from her actions.  Dahee gathered her courage and look up at him.
“Look, I’m really sorry. I know I—”
“I need to go now.” Younghyun said—he know, the longer he stay, the more complicated things would be
Once again, he cuts her off and he tries to walk away from Dahee but she caught his wrist, making the man stop in his tracks.
“Please, one minute then you can go.” Dahee softly said, eyes pleading with tears pooling at corner of her eyes, something that Younghyun couldn’t resist when his loved one insist to stay.
Willingly, Younghyun stays for her as Dahee let go of her grip on his wrist.
“Fine, you got one minute” Younghyun clear his throat as he fix his watch, looking at the time.
Dahee took a deep breathe “I know you’re tired hearing this but I’m really sorry for everything.  I’m sorry for pushing you away, for not trusting you.  Back then, I know I didn’t appreciate for what you had done to me, which is brings back Dowoon to me, I’m really sorry for that.” She said as Dahee looks at Younghyun who has his gazes unwavering when they made eye contact.
Somehow, it makes Dahee shiver throughout her body.  It makes her hesistate to continue her words upon seeing his expressionless face but Dahee know she gonna miss the chance if she didn’t let out all of her feelings before Younghyun leave.  “And I’m sorry for not acknowledging my feelings towards you.  You showed to me abundant of loves but I didn’t appreciate it.  You did everything to me while I did nothing for you.  I know I deserve nothing but I just want to let you know that I finally realized that....I love you Younghyun.” Dahee confess, felt like time stopped and everything went silent at the moment despite they’re at the airport.
She tries to read Younghyun’s face but he keeps his expression straight as if he didn’t affected with Dahee’s words.
After examining her expression for awhile, Younghyun lets out a small scoff.
“Wow, I really hate you.” Younghyun reply, making Dahee’s heart broke once again.

Ahhhhh!!!
I just read the fic. Thank you so much!!! It was so enjoyable to read!!!
Can you do a fic of Taehoon trying to win his ex back? Like they've been broken up for some time (idk how long) and Tae Tae(😂😂) tries to get them back.
Angst (like ANGST ANGST) to fluff please.
Black anon
PS: the Taehoon fic was REALLY good and creative.
Thanks for the ask and glad you liked the first one. I think my braincells are dying, sorry this again isn't angst angst or fluffy fluffy!
Seong Taehoon x Reader: As friends
Tumblr media
You had come at the wrong time in his life.
Taehoon realised you had never signed up to fix him but unfortunately you were handed a broken shell.
Truthfully, he wasn't too sure why he agreed to date you. (He was an asshole, but that didn't mean he didn't adore you. He just found himself incapable of showing it.) He supposed, above all else, you were a good distraction.
Hurting over Dowoon, he had pushed and pushed you away, testing the boundary of your kindness and loyalty to him.
Someone like you deserved a lot, and Taehoon wasn't able to give even the minimum.
You had snapped and said obviously he wasn't fit to be in a relationship or to focus on anybody else.
Of course you were right. It hurt a lot in hindsight but at the time all he felt was nothing.
.
.
You were caught in the periphery of his life.
Seeing you at school, hanging with your friends, occasionally at the arcade. Enough to exchange a few words, but never to satisfy his yearning.
Underneath his layers of hostility and chaos, was an atom of gentleness that you had managed to embed yourself into.
Taehoon found himself swinging between sweet daydreams and bitter regret, hoping that you and him was a chapter left unfinished. Where has this romanticism even come from.
Still, the glimpses into your life had to be enough considering how your relationship ended.
Eventually it got harder and harder for Taehoon to come up with excuses to frequent places where he had seen you last. In the end it was easier to just admit to himself that he wanted to see you.
The catalyst to him making his next move was hearing your laugh. After so long, he would still be able to recognise that anywhere.
Around your shoulders was an arm that wasn't Taehoon's, the laughter ringing out wasn't caused by Taehoon. And Taehoon definitely didn't play a part in your happiness, then or now.
You found him staring at you, and you acknowledged him with a simple nod and small smile.
This was something he needed to fix.
.
.
With great relief, Taehoon found out that that guy you were seeing was just one-off. There wasn't any chemistry, you had explained.
"What about with me?"
"...That was never the problem,"
"There won't be a problem anymore."
"Taehoon..."
You were hesitant to pick at this thread. Taehoon saw the doubt and uneasiness in your eyes, yet he was too stubborn to let this go. To let you go.
He's not a patient guy, but if that's what it takes. Building up the foundations up again, he'll do it for you.
"We're getting a drink," your eyes snapped up to meet his, "as friends."
"Just as friends?"
"At first." Taehoon didn't see any point in lying to you, especially if he wanted to restart on the right foot, "I'll prove it to you. It won't be like last time."
How have you ended up here again? Your back up against the wall literally and metaphorically.
Even after all the initial hurt had subsided, you were still plagued by the what ifs. You thought it was a distant musing, but now here's Seong Taehoon in the flesh asking you for a second chance.
Perhaps you're a masochist.
"One drink."
At your response, Taehoon's lips quirk (and his shoulders sag with relief).
Damn this man to hell, you've even missed his smirk.

Member: Day6 Dowoon
Prompt Used and Credit: 19. “It’s not working out. We’re not working out.” Credit: @trash1ty
-------------------------------
Dowoon had known something was wrong but never dared to acknowledge this fact. He wasn’t sure is it was because he didn’t want to lose them or if he just did not want to admit the problem. Probably both, he keeps constantly thinking on. He would like to think that they both were happy but their frowns whenever they came home was just another reminder. A reminder that sometime in the past, the relationship turned sour.
Everything was falling apart and maybe, just maybe, he’s finally coming to terms with the foreign concept of not loving someone anymore.
Another normal day with practice was pretty much normal but now with extra hours just to keep from going home. Even his members noticed the drastic change in his demeanor. In fact, they were the ones that told him that something was fishy about his lover in the first place. He ignored them of course, being madly in love with them and all made him blind to it all. The problems that would soon arise if they continued to stay together.
He should have pointed out the signs, should have confronted them.
But he was blind. He was stupid. He was…desperate to keep things together.
He was leisurely passing through the channels on the television, anything to get out of his head. His eyes glared at the front door as it creaked when they pressed the keycode to let themselves in. Of course, they stumbled through with a lazy look on their face. Dowoon was beginning to think if it was his fault the more, he watched them struggle to put their coat on the rack and take off their shoes.
As time went on after only a year of dating, he was beginning to become busier with his band and the work that came with being a famous drummer in a popular group. They were starting to take more classes at the university and soon, barely had time to see each other at all. The days together were impossible to obtain and soon, the new schedule was becoming easier to go with and not so stressful and worrisome on each other. It was becoming normal.
The more he thought about it, the more he thinks that both are at fault. He focused on their back as they finally took off their last shoes and awkwardly twisted themselves around to stand up with the help of the nearby side table. He then locked eyes with theirs and the frown became heavier than before and he felt his grow into a neutral expression. “Drinks?” His eyes followed them until they sat on the farthest side of the sofa.
“Hm.” He went back to watching the boring show, trying to keep from having anymore of a conversation with them. “I didn’t know you would be home today.”
He eternally sighed but thought about a proper response. “Yeah. I didn’t think I had to tell you about that.” Silence again. “I asked for the day off if you’re curious to know.”
“Okay.” Sitting there together was a concept that was begotten.
He did a lot of thinking this past week.
“Hey, Y/N?” The silence was his answer, but he knew they were listening. “Did you eat dinner?”
           “Mm.”
           “Did you sleep well?”
           “Mm.”
He was thankful at least. They were staying physically healthy despite the circumstances. It won’t hurt as much…
“It’s not working out you know?”
           “Mm.”
           “We’re not working out.”
“Mm.” You finally looked his way. “Yeah.”
He looked at the bags which has been at the door since a few days ago. He breathed out and looked at them and then back at the television. “Sleep well.”
           “You too.”
He stood up and went into the guest room. Which shouldn’t be called that anymore. He has been staying in there for a month now. He shut the door, completing the acceptance of the situation and shutting the door to something that should have been shut half a year ago.

Dowoon + I'm Serious 🤧💞
hi, i hope you like it :)
You really don’t know that it’s only you to me
To say that Dowoon is frustrated is an understatement. Sure, he’s not the best at expressing his feelings, he gets tongue tied whenever he wants to tell anyone how much they mean to him. The words are there right on the tip of his tongue, but he can’t spit them out. When he’s drunk, it’s a whole different story and his friends (read: Younghyun) are guilty of not letting him stop when he’s had one too many just to get smothered in the affection he can’t give when he’s sober.
He’s bad at expressing his feelings but you’re oblivious. Really really oblivious. Dowoon could have written it on his forehead and you still wouldn’t get it. He tried everything and you still don’t get it. He flirted with the you, a sly smirk on his lips as his head leans against his palm and you just pinch his cheek and call him cute. He tried complimenting you but most of the time you just squint at him, thinking he’s about to ask you for a favor.
Sungjin suggests that he just comes forward and confesses. Dowoon hisses at his older friend, eyes wide in horror as if he had suddenly grown two heads. Younghyun agrees and Jae does too after saying something that was most likely quoted from a tv show no one but him watches. Dowoon gives it some thought and he ends up realizing that Sungjin is right, he might as well do it. He can’t live like this forever and he refuses to do so. At this point, rejection feels better than just trying to get your attention.
You’re surprised when Dowoon asks you to hang out (actually, he asked you out but that went right over your head) but still agree to meet up with him by the bus stop. On the way to wherever it is that you’re going, you talk about everything that has been going on in your lives. One of the things Dowoon likes about you is how easily conversation flows between the two of you. Whenever one of you has a problem, it seems so easy to forget about everything that is troubling you with just a simple phone call. It’s what happens this time, Dowoon was so nervous when he met up with you but in just a few minutes the knot in his throat seemed lighter and his heart had finally calmed down in his chest.
He takes you to a diner a couple of blocks away from the bus stop. Dowoon takes a seat in one of the booths while you go to the bathroom and the waitress comes over to him to take your order. He knows what you want to eat so he orders for you without thinking twice about it but he’s feeling a little daring. A smile forms on his lips as the waitress leaves and soon you’re sitting across from him. When the food gets to the table, your eyes light up and you quickly forget about what you were talking about and dig into your food. The waitress sets a milkshake with two straws on your table and you frown at the tall glass.
“I think they got our order wrong.” You look around, probably for a couple at another booth.
“No, they didn’t. I ordered it like this.” Dowoon explains as he takes a sip from one of the straws, his eyes never leaving you.
The look in his eyes is daring, which contrasts with his pink ears. It seems like he’s half a second away from backing out but for some reason he doesn’t. You look at him, confusion written across your features for a few seconds until it hits you.
“Are you flirting with me?” Your head tilts to the side as the words leave your lips and Dowoon tries his best to lean back in his seat as nonchalantly as if he wasn’t freaking out.
“I am. I’ve been for a while actually.” He replies.
Silence hangs in the air for a few seconds and Dowoon feels like his breathing stopped. It isn’t until your giggle fills his ears that air gets in his lungs again.
“You’re too cute.” You lean forward and pinch his cheek before taking a sip from the other straw.
I’m serious, it’s what he wants to say. But the words die down in his throat once again and Dowoon just sighs in defeat, heart still beating too fast against his ribcage.
You’re gonna be the death of him someday…
