You know that Post about Danny becoming the False Villian, Expose?
To train all these kids, who are running around with shitty priorities and the self preservation instincts of lemmings? Because they were arrogant. Didn't listen to the concerns of those they "protect". Didn't listen to the concerns of a fellow Hero. So now, they WILL learn, at the hands of a "Villian".
Cause he TRIED pointing things out nicely.
Was met with a brick wall of condescension and dismissal.
THAT post.
You know where he would not only do that, but go APESHIT into it? Because he is a Hero and holy SHIT these kids are gonna get themselves killed? Gonna kill somebody ELSE? Have fucked up priorities and live in a fucked up system they do not even question?
Boku No Hero Academia.
Why the FUCK are you posing for the cameras? Why the absolute FUCK are you beating that man down on the worst day of his life, instead of TALKING him down? Why are you jumping too conclusions and splitting up and playing for the crowds? Why. The ABSOLUTE AND UNFORGIVING FUCK do you seem to ASSUME that every innocent soul, that doesn't look default generic human, is the AGGRESSOR in every situation you arrive at?!
Danny would have a conniption. Just a full body rage seizure, as his Ghost-y lil brain LIT UP with the BURNING NEED to fix everything, everywhere, at once. Right. Now.
But do they listen?
Ha!
Cool, cool cool cool cool..... he's gonna burn the entire country dow- No! That way lies Dan! Breathe, Fenton. Just.... Breathe. You can fix this.
The older ones may be set in their ways, but the younger ones are still learning. They can get better. BE better. They're kids. They just need opportunities to grow. And they WANT to be Heros, right? All he has to do is show them HOW. Poke their weak spots and point out their mistakes.
He can do that!
And just? Out of NO WHERE? This foreign villian decends upon Japan? What's worse, seeming to TARGET HEROS STUDENTS. Young, just debuted, Heros. Everyone freaks out. Older Heros closing rank, where they can, to try and Protect These Kids(tm).
But they can't be everywhere at once.
And this menace? Seemingly CAN be. Can make copies of himself. Use Ice. Fly. Energy beams. Intangiblity. Invisibility! What monster are they DEALING with?! That plays the flamboyant fool, dispensing deadly peril, only to then turn around, and in chilling sobriety absolutely destroy seasoned heroes?
That LECTURES them while doing it.
He's undermining the people's faith in the system!
(But should they have faith in it? Doesn't he have good points? Aren't they getting stronger, faster, better heroes for facing him? Where did he come from? Hasn't anyone else noticed that not a single civilian has gotten hurt, at his hands? That he annihilates any true villians foolish enough to think he's on their side?)
(How many "thugs" and "minor villians" have these guys not noticed, they wonder, who have just... disappeared. Come into contact with this guy and then? Stopped. Turned up somewhere else, weeks later, healthy again. Smiling with illegal lifestyle support gear, a new job, a new life, and better future. Finally free of the violence.)
Amity may be at peace by the time Danny turns 20(-ish? Maybe? Is he? Clockwork! How old IS he? You've sent him on so many of your weird timebend-y missions he lost count!). But? Danny is a Heroic Protector Spirit. His Obsession has demands. And his Human sides Space Obsession will never really be quite strong enough to support him.
You know, since it can't die.
Just because it HAS a Soul aspect to it, doesn't mean it'll ever come into practical use. So? The more powerful Heroic instincts it is! And honestly, he wasn't even planning to STAY. Just check the place out. You know, compare his options. But... *twitch*
They Are Doing It Wrong.
So now he lives here!
.....it's awful! They don't even have any space exploration! No studying, no stars, no futuristic moon base! Nothing! And he doesn't even SPEAK Japanese! In human form? He has no idea what anyone is saying! At least the Sorta-But-Not skeleton Ghost guy across the hall is helping. Dude might be taller then his DAD. Seriously ecto-starved though. It's like he somehow GAVE all his body's ecto to someone else!
How's he supposed to heal like that?! Guy really needs to learn how to take care of himself.

Danny sneaks into class 1-A to see what hero school is like. He's chilling, literally, furiously taking notes, and completely unaware that he's freezing the room over. Sue him, it's a new power. Tsu is already halfway to hibernation
The notes have very little to do with the curriculum. Instead they detail his theories on how each student would fair in a fight with his rogues. Latest theory: Mineta vs The Box Ghost. He's stumped
Todoroki: *minding his own business*
Class 1-A: *visibly shuddering, absolutely freezing and this close to murdering an innocent man*
Aizawa: Todoroki, control your quirk before I do it for you.
Bakugou: I'll show you hell can't be frozen over if you don't shut your damn quirk off
Danny's definitely NOT supposed to be there. In his defence, what Aizawa doesn't know can't get him arrested. "Ask forgiveness, not permission," is his personal favorite motto.
It might get Todoroki after-school detention though
Or it would have if he had kept his mouth shut. Who knew three small words ("My bad, bro.") from a quiet, disembodied voice could cause so much chaos?

Danny can see and hear ghosts which means he can see the past users of One for All that follow Izuku. This means he hears and sees all the weird shit they do and says, and he knows things he shouldn't like how Izuku was born quirkless and how he is the successor of All Might.
Danny knows that he shouldn't stick his head in their business but he can't help but see himself in Izuku. He remembers when he first got his power he had no one to help or show him what to do, and it did not seem like All Might was helping much considering his advice was to his successor to clench his butt and Shout smash and hope for the best, not to mention that he hasn't taught him how to activate it his power without blowing up his limbs, and from what the heard the past users said it does not seem like any of the teachers know either which means Izuku can't get the help he needs.
The final straw was when he found out that the Izuku only got his quirk on the day of the entrance exam, Danny was never very good at keeping his nose out of people's business.

Danny phantom idea promptnmaybe
Danny going through a portal and into the bnha universe by accident. He’s flying around and heros are trying to tell him to stop his unregistered quirk use. But hes like Danny ‘commit to the bit’ fenton so he says idk how. Ive been like this for years. My powers wont turn off. So they bring in eraserhead, who thinks hes dealing with another problem child, danny doesnt think eraserheads power wont work since u now hes dead. Bit it does, so he commits even more. Suddenly running and giving aizawa a hug and exclaiming I Can feel people again! I can hug again! Aizawa is just like oh he’s traumatized, touch starved and cant control his powers? Hes my kid now.

Dropout Amity Ch. 3
Lost in Translation
The start of that trip was probably the last time he's really felt at peace– like a normal teenager and not just some hero in training. Or a target. He wishes, somewhat, that he could go back to those days, back before All For One was even a blip on his radar, before he was actively endangering his friends and mother by simply existing, before everything went to hell, and just enjoy the peace he had with his classmates and teacher.

Ok I’ve been thinking about this one for awhile!!
So when Uraraka talking about how she thought that deku meant dekiru, Danny in true Danny fashion chimes in that he thought it was a pun but as the only English native speaker the other three don’t get it.
I love this crossover so much it one of my favorites to daydream about especially when you throw in some dadzawa.

A request if you have time. DPxBNHA
The vestiges are a bit ghostly yes? Danny may run across a few ghosts attached to Izuku. And maybe a certain woman who he sees around our favorite well intentioned but sometimes poorly executed mentor ( All Might ) as well as Izuku. Nana keeps an eye on favorite son and grandson.
Danny knew Izuku Midoriya was weird from the start.
Sure they wore the same red shoes, signifying the same quirklessness that both of them evidently grew out of. And yeah, that was weird, but not as weird as his ghost sense going off anytime Midoriya got in his general vicinity.
Because last time he checked, Midoriya was alive and breathing.
So why did his ghost sense go off whenever he was around?
--------
So it turns out, Midoriya is haunted. Or, rather, his quirk is. It's late one night in the dorms when neither of them can sleep when he sees her for the first time. She's wearing a dark blue jumpsuit with yellow gloves and a white cape. She looks kind. Almost motherly, even. And she's following Midoriya around the kitchen as he makes them both tea.
She makes eye contact with Danny, who makes a point to let her know he can see her, before disappearing.
------
The second time it happens, it's some big burly guy with a pair of goggles strapped to his head. He's sitting against the wall of the classroom next to Izuku, listening to Midnight's art history lesson. He shakes his head a couple times with a frown, evidently not agreeing with whatever her lecture is about.
He gets frustrated and leaves.
--------
The woman with the yellow gloves and kind smile is the one that shows up the most often.
She doesn't speak. Danny isn't sure if it's because she's Midoriya's ghost or if she just isn't able to. Either way, he takes the time to brush up on his JSL.
The first time he signs to her she seems pleasantly surprised, but does not know it herself. Danny is only slightly disappointed by this. He wants to talk to her so bad. He's got so many questions. But seeing as how she's somehow tied to Midoriya, it'll be pretty impossible without his classmate being a little bit suspicious.
---------
So it turns out, she's attached to All Might, too.
He's in the middle of a lecture on vigilante laws along with Aizawa, when she appears. She walks around him a few times, nodding along with half an ear to whatever he's saying.
But...She looks almost...Sad? She's still smiling, just like she always does, but her eyes are filled with a somber sort of acceptance as she stands beside All Might in his small form.
She catches Danny's eyes, gives a shrug as if to say what can you do? Danny let's his eyes flick between his teacher and his classmate.
Maybe Todoroki's theories aren't complete bullshit...
-------
"You're one of us."
Danny startles so bad he nearly falls off the couch.
It's another sleepless night. He and Midoriya seem to have them the most often, so it's not uncommon for them to already have a second cup of tea or hot chocolate waiting for the other. Tonight, though, as Danny does the last of his homework at the coffee table, Midoriya finally let's himself relax enough to sleep on the couch.
"So you're a ghost then?" Danny asks, keeping his voice to a soft whisper so Midoriya doesn't stir. She shrugs.
"Sort of. Not in the traditional way that you are."
"I wouldn't say I'm necessarily a traditional ghost. There's only three of us, after all."
"True. But you certainly aren't just a remnant hitching a ride on somebody else's quirk."
"That's fair," Danny says, taking a sip of his hot chocolate. It's cold now, but it gives his hands something to do. "What's that about, anyway? I saw another guy one time, and a couple others here and there. How many of you are there?"
"Eight previous holders of One for All," the ghost tells him. "Izuku Midoriya is the ninth holder. All Might is the eighth. I am the seventh."
"What's your name?" Danny asked. He wanted to ask about what the fuck One for All was, and if it had a counterpart. He wanted to know about how a quirk could be passed from one person to the next. He wanted to know what it was like, teaching All Might before he became All Might. He had so many questions but...Well, he figured they weren't his answers to have. It was obviously a pretty big secret, and that was one thing he understood more than most.
"Nana Shimura," the woman said. "It's lovely to meet you, Danny. Midoriya thinks highly of you. And he's also curious about your..." she glances down at his bare feet tucked beneath his legs under the coffee table, and Danny understands without her having to finish the sentence.
"It's complicated," Danny offers. Talking about his death was always so hard. Every time he closed his eyes he could see the bright green flooding his vision, and he could feel the pain all around his body. His left hand ached with the memory just thinking about it.
"I understand," Shimura told him. "I find that it's hard to talk sometimes as well. I was never able to talk to Toshinori, but Midoriya seems to be getting used to having eight other people in his head."
"Toshinori?"
"All Might. I tried contacting him like we can contact Midoriya, but there's always been a block somehow. There's...There's a lot of things I never got to say to him."
"Well...maybe I could help with that?"
----------
"Young Fenton?" All might asked as he looked between him and Midoriya. "Was there something you needed?"
"Uh...It's complicated?" Danny said, his shoulders rising to his ears. "It's-complicated. But I need Midoriya here to show you."
All Might brought them into the thankfully empty teacher's lounge. He took a seat, and gestured for them to do the same. Midoriya complied, but Danny didn't. No, he was too focused on Nana flickering into existence right behind them.
He circled the table and stood behind her before transforming into Phantom. He's never done something like this. Doesn't even know if it'll work. But it's worth a shot, he supposes.
He puts his glowing hands on Nana's shoulders and lets the power flow from his core down his arms, through his hands and into Nana.
She became more solid under his hands, and judging from All Might's sudden movement and Midoriya's gasp, they could finally see her too.
"Hello, Toshinori," she greeted with that same sad smile she sometimes gave Danny. "Hello, Izuku. It's wonderful to see you again."

NOT DC for once! But DP none the less!
And out here asking the Questions That Are Haunting Me (o.o ) as I sit and Ponder(TM)
Danny. Our babiest of boys. The feral Racoon of our hearts. WOULD HE? Get... stuck? If he possessed someone with one of those Haunted By The Previous Holders Protagonist McGuffins?
I am thinking specifically in this case Izuku Midoriya. Deku.
With his probably GRABBY AF Stockpiling Quirk. Which? Probably would want to get it's clingy little raccoon hands ALL over Danny's Ecto like? SIR!? Excuse me, SIR DESIST!!! *smacks with newspaper*
Not to MENTION? You go to hide, because crazy spandex weary people in armor, which... Fair. And? There are like? 8 to 9 people...already IN here? Uuuuuuuh? Hi? Well, this is awkward.
Wait, wait, WAIT! NOT THE FACE! *sounds of Shimura violence, because Nana don't play that "possessing my boy's baby boy" bullshit*
And like? Could he even LEAVE? Or would he have to literally make a Fenton Dream Catcher to split his Ecto from the person he's in? Presumably and HOPEFULLY before he, you know, POISONS THEM.
Because he accidentally picked the one dude who's body would try and ABSORB the very much NOT SAFE and very much DEADLY, highly corrosive, radioactive, substance known as Ectoplasm? Which was perfectly safe when only connect to HIM but NOT when leeching into his "host" as it were.
Oh! And people are super jumpy about him taking control of this random adolescent boy for a few hours a day to build the Catcher... for some reason. Like? Full squad of Professionals watching his every move, type jumpy. What? Is this kid the Japanese President's son or something? DOES Japan have a President? Hell if Danny knows. He's in a foreign dimension! So, maybe!
At least the kid is have the time of his young life, harra- I mean CHATTING with his... heeeead mates? Yeah, Danny has no idea what's going on there and doesn't feel like asking. This place is WEIRD.
Also! No NASA! OR space programs! So clearly, the WORST timeline/dimension! And Danny is trying not to be RUDE? But what the fuuuuuck. Unholy! Heathens, all of you. He wants his Space(~☆) back. And less..... This *offended hand motion*

Aizawa uses Erasure on Danny but he just splits in two, Fenton and Phantom, like in the Identity Crisis episode. Sorry, plot vomit again
Once they're split, Aizawa's quirk works normally on both of them, but Phantom doesn't have a second form to change into. So it doesn't effect his appearance/give away his identity. And he's more ghost-like post-split. He doesn't eat, sleep, breath. (No pulse, just justice)
Queue confusion cause now everyone thinks they're supposed to be two separate people.
They think Danny was being possessed by Phantom.
I kind of think it would be fun if their powerset was more connected than it was in the show. Like: Phantom's using intangibility, so Fenton can't. And goddamnit, Phantom, that's the only power Danny registered for a quirk. He can't use anything else in front of the teachers.
Fenton is taken into protective custody by Aizawa, and ultimately enrolled in UA's hero track
With only Intangibilty registered as his quirk.
Aizawa takes Fenton in pretty quickly after the split. Phantom is considered a villain. And the pros think Danny needs protection from him. But fresh from the split, he notices a lot of things wrong with the teenager in his care. His reactions to everything seem pretty strange. Some things he should react to, don't make him upset.
So there's still a personality split.
Phantom is considered a villain
(Unfortunately, Fenton got his love of astronomy, but he knows nothing about space. Phantom's the one with all the facts and could care less. Danny didn't know he could be this annoying. In UA, after Danny admits how much he loves space. Izuku tries to bond with him about it. It doesn't go well. He thought he'd just bring it up and let Danny rant at him like he wishes people would let him do. But Izuku ends up info dumping more. Some of the facts he dumps about end up being inaccurate, cause he's a hero nerd, not a space nerd. But Danny can't explain it right to correct him. He just knows it's wrong.)
The personality split should be a little more subtle in this au than in the show. So, kinda crack taken seriously, I guess. When bnha characters finally meet both halves, it's like there's a sense of deja vu. The two are similar, but different at the same time.
Like Danny's need to protect, for example. Phantom's still the more heroic between the two of them. But both halves feel a sense of duty and responsibility.
Fenton is the one who embodies Danny's self-preservation. He gets separated from Phantom, and makes every decision he can to keep them both safe and not arrested until they can fix the disconnect caused by Aizawa's quirk.
Phantom on the other hand, has no sense (of self-preservation.) He throws himself into vigilantism without a care to the consequences he could face. And this leaves Fenton scrambling to pull some string somewhere in the background that'll get Phantom away from the heroes, or keep the heroes distracted until he can trap Phantom in the thermos.
Fenton doesn't feel the same duty to protect other people that he did before. Meaning he will pull some reckless stunts to lure heroes away, or to lure Phantom somewhere so he can trap him. And actually fix this.
So Phantom's assumed to be the villain, but Fenton is the morally ambiguous one between the two of them.
Fenton protects himself (and by extension, Phantom) while Phantom protects everyone, except himself (including Fenton. Fenton is the one person Phantom won't go out of his way to protect. He's the loophole in Phantom's obsession. Which doesn't help the misconception that he's a villain who's targeting Fenton)
Aizawa is proud of Fenton's self-preservation skills. The student who's most likely to survive and potentially retire from hero work. Or at least, that's the starting point of his view of Daniel James Fenton. He gets around to the idea that Fenton, like some students he could mention, might be pursuing hero work for the wrong reasons.
No one in UA knew what to make of the new exchange student.
On the surface level, he seemed like a perfectly average, normal kid with a lucky quirk. Bakugou fumed when he heard the new guy had a quirk that mimicked one of UA's Big 3. Intangibility.
Danny's skills with it weren't as finely polished as Mirio's...
But at the same time, Danny's intangibility didn't have the same drawbacks as Mirio's did. Whether or not that was a good thing was still up in the air. Mirio did find ways to turn his weaknesses into strengths in his time at UA. And he would make a first-class hero when he graduated.
Maybe it wasn't completely fair. But most people couldn't help but think this kid would show up and show out in ways that were just as impressive.
No one knew exactly what kind of trouble the new kid was in. But the idea that he was in some kind of trouble was obvious in how closely he was watched by the teachers.
Izuku, fresh out of the Hosu Incident, just wants to help the transfer student being hunted down by a villain. He knows he's not supposed to get involved. He's not even supposed to know how seriously this guy was in trouble. But how is he supposed to just stand aside? The guy absolutely refuses to so much as acknowledge he's being targeted. And he refuses to follow any of the safety measures their teachers put in place. He sneaks away constantly. Izuku doesn't think he's spent so much as one full night in his dorm room.
He has a sick feeling in his stomach that Fenton's rejecting any help from heroes to solve his problem alone. As a vigilante.
Just like Iida.
Fenton and Phantom still merge back into one person at the end, but before they do, Phantom will be tempted when the League shows up. Particularly when the offer to make Phantom a body, his own body (a Nomu, unbeknownst to him) is set in front of him.
This is especially tempting considering how reckless Fenton is with other people. Phantom starts getting the idea that Fenton is his dark side, and he's a better hero when they're separated. (This would contrast Aizawa, who's goal is to raise up good heroes with good self-preservation instincts. So self-preservation being a necessary skillset for young heroes would be a big theme here)
(Though, I'm kinda split on the idea of them merging back together, or saying they grow into their own people and Aizawa adopts twins. On the other hand, I like the idea of using the Phantom/Fenton split as a device to explore Danny's character, aka trauma boy. Danny has a whole host of self-esteem issues. And post-split that presents as a deep dislike of his counterpart. On both sides of the split. So, kind of a journey of self-love/learning to love the parts of himself he hates kind of thing)
Maybe Fenton even gets a little bit involved with the GIW in this au. So, they'd exist in bnha. Whether they followed Danny there or ghosts do actually exist in bnha, I'm not sure yet.
He doesn't join them. But in the same way that Phantom doesn't join the League. Danny doesn't set off the GIW's sensors unless he uses their powers. And after failing to catch Phantom for so long, he gets the idea that he needs better ghost hunting equipment.
So, his actions kind of mirror Phantom's in a way.
Phantom wants his own body to make his separation from Fenton permanent. And he's tempted with help from the League. Danny's primary goal is to find Phantom so they can merge back into one person. And he needs access to equipment the GIW has.
So I guess that would make this another "stranded in the bnha verse" kind of au. Starting to feel a little one track minded about that 😬 oops.
I like the drama of Phantom pursuing his humanity in any way but merging with his human half again. While Fenton just wants to go back to being one person.
There would probably be a scene where Danny uses cryonkineses against Endeavor in a way that leaves the man hospitalized. It's the first time Fenton does something to protect someone else. And he does it because he knows Todoroki, and knows all the trauma Todoroki has because of his father.
Phantom's never met Todoroki though. All he sees is Fenton going overboard against a pro-hero. And this would probably be the scene that cements Fenton as Phantom's darkside, in Phantom's mind. And out Fenton as someone with multiple quirks, to Aizawa and class 1-A.
If we go with the idea that Fenton and Phantom remain separated in the end, that would probably also mark the point where they start growing apart/into distinct individuals.

dont mind me. im just going to keep rambling about this absurdly long dpxbnha au in order to stay motivated
i FINALLY,,,,,,, finally,,,,,, finished ch. 3 (3/12-ish) last night and its already sitting at around 27k words which is So Much and as much as i dont want to write a long fic, i ALSO dont want to miss out on character development so. its a struggle.
anyways heres a little bit from last chapter
Danny rubs the back of his neck awkwardly and continues his way towards the stairs. “I’m just…not here to make friends.” It’s not what he means to say, even if it’s true. He winces. “Sorry.”
Some of the class ooos which is not at all the reaction he’s expecting. The rest of them are hiding laughs, or sighing or, in Bakugo’s case, not even paying attention to the conversation at hand. The determined looks that Uraraka and Midoriya are giving him are strangely out of place considering Danny had essentially dissed them.
Their reactions surprise him so much that he stops short, almost stumbling on his own two feet.
“I see,” Iida says. “You were correct, Uraraka. I apologize for doubting you.”
Uraraka looks almost smug. “I told you guys.”
“Man, he really is like a friendlier and more talkative version of Early-Roki,” Kaminari says.
The class immediately zeroes in on Todoroki. Todoroki simply shrugs. It’s unclear if it’s in agreement or not.
Danny blinks at them. “…Early-Roki?”
“Early Todoroki,” Sero clarifies which doesn’t actually clarify anything at all. “I guess Shinsou was that way too, huh?”
“Uh,” Danny says.
“What Kaminari means to say,” Sero says. “Is that people who don’t come here to make friends often end up with the largest amount of friends. Look at Todoroki. Or Shinsou. Or, hell, even Bakugo has friends, I guess.”

im curious, how did you get interested in the bnha fandom? have you watched/read it, or just read fics on it?
I used to read a lot of manga on my phone in college. Mostly because I had to walk everywhere and couldn't carry 400 page novels around with me easily. BNHA was one of them I kept up with, up until the app I was using went through a major update and became unusable. I think I was still reading until the joint training arc... Then, more recently, I was reading some DPxBNHA crossovers and decided I'd like to read more. I'm thinking about trying to catch back up in the manga, but I don't want to deal with ads and haven't decided if buying it is worth it. Anything post the joint training arc I only know about through fic... I don't think I even got to Blackwhip...
