How can a woman choose between heaven and hell when they both look so much alike?
Persephone Nicholls believes she’s living a real live Cinderella story when she’s swept off her feet by the handsome and wealthy, Garrett Byrne, but when Byrne begins to show his darker side, Reverend Patrick O’Connor offers friendship, warmth, and maybe even love. The problem is, with their wavy auburn hair, solid bodies, and deep blue machine gun eyes, the two men look so much alike that Percy can’t seem to keep her emotions straight. Will these heavenly feelings cast her straight into hell.
(Yes, these characters are loosely inspired by you-know-who 🔥❤️‍🔥)

Hello. I have a question about the Pirates of the Caribbean comics. Have you come across this comic in magazines, I can’t find it anywhere on the Internet. Just this page. I would love to see it!
https://pirates.fandom.com/wiki/Enter…_the_Scarecrow! Enter… the Scarecrow! is a comic short story published in the Disney Adventures comics in Winter 2005, set in the Pirates of the Caribbean world and published under the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl title. It can be considered as a crossover with the Disney-made series from 1964, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh.

Someone else was asking about this a long time ago and I couldn't find it. But from this image, now I know why. It's in one off the Comic Zone issues, which were only sold in stores and not part of the regular DA subscription, which I had. It would be interesting to read if anybody out there can share.

As we amp up to October and Halloween (!!!!) I will post a few horrible Halloween drawings to help get everyone in the mood and to prepare you for the Drawlloween 2024 Challenge! As you may know (because I posted the list earlier!) I am undertaking a challenge where I draw spooky stuff throughout the month of October using traditional materials and tools (India ink, dip pens, etc.) and then posting them for you to peruse! This drawing is not part of the challenge as it was drawn on my computer using Photoshop and my Wacom tablet. This is a drawing of Dr. Syn, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh from the books by Russell Thorndike. Disney made a movie about Dr. Syn with Patrick McGoohan (famous for starring in The Prisoner) in 1963 but the books are better. Dr. Syn was a clergyman, a pirate, a smuggler, and a vigilante! He died by a harpoon through the neck! These books are definitely worth a read. Keep watching this Tumblr for more Halloween art throughout the month of October! And, as always, check out my website at www.deadcatcomix.com for more fun stuff!

Pulptober 2024 Themes Elaborated, Part One
Days 1-5
A reminder that everyday of Pulptober has two prompts; a specific character, and a theme that that character is an example of. This is the first in a series of posts elaborating on what the themes are, and giving 2-3 alternate examples; I will try not to use multiple alts for different days, but may periodically use someone who has their own day.
Thanks to @maxwell-grant who once again helped me with assembling the lists of alternate examples. Characters who have a plus sign (+) next to their names were suggested by him. Characters with an asterisk (*) are ones where I have not consumed any source material (note that I'm including tie-in or revival media as source material).
1-The Shadow/The Hidden Master. it is not unusual for Pulp Heroes to have agents and allies, so what makes these guys stand out is their management style; staying aloof and mysterious from said agents and allies, who may have only a vague idea of who they are working for. Sometimes character development kicks in and that changes, and usually they still very obviously care about their minions, but nonetheless that distance is there. Alternate examples: Harold Finch (from Person of Interest), The Scarlet Pimpernel, Doctor Syn*+
2-Doc Savage/Sci-Fi Superman. Many Pulp Heroes are just...better than other people for no apparent reason. Others have their Peak Human (or super human) abilities ascribed to various forms of mysticism. And there are these guys, who claim to be powered by SCIENCE. Alt. examples, The Nyctalope, William Wilson*+ (From Wizard Magazine), I personally can't decide if characters from the SF Pulps are cheating or not, but I will allow it.
3-The Green Hornet/I'm Your Villain. Many Pulp Heroes are wanted by the law. These guys lean into it and pretend to be criminals in order to achieve their goals (not counting your Gentleman Thief types, who actually are). Alt. examples, The Whisperer, Captain Blood*
4-El Santo/Champion of Justice. Most Pulp Heroes are athletic, but these guys? These guys are noted as being actual athletes who compete at the highest levels. Alt. examples, Raffles, Flash Gordon, Joe Palooka*+
5-Vampirella/Monster Heroes. Most Pulp Heroes frequently fight people who are monstrous. many fight foes that are literally monstrous. and some...ARE monsters. Alt. Examples: Abe Sapien, Felifax*+, Blade
