Today I learned (realized) that the first episode of The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh ran on Disney's Wonderful World of Color on February 9th, 1964...the same night The Beatles headlined The Ed Sullivan Show on CBS.

Swashtober 23: The Reverend Doctor Syn!
The mild-mannered elderly priest of the village of Romney Marsh doesn't like seeing corrupt Napoleonic-era naval press gangs enslaving his coastal parishioners, so he does what any good clergyman would do: dusts of his killin' skills from his former life as a believed-dead murderous pirate to wreak horrifying havoc on the officers of King George while disguised as a scarecrow. From the 1915 novel by actor and Gallipoli veteran Russell Thorndike.

LOST 2005 Pirates of the Caribbean Comic FOUND!
Hi everyone! For over 2 years now I have been trying to track down one of the few missing POTC comics from the Disney Adventures Magazine in the early 2000s. Last week I finally found someone who was selling the issue containing the lost comic named "Enter... the Scarecrow!"
This comic is a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover with the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, specifically the Disney version of the character based on the television show from the 1960s. It was the idea of artist Bret Blevins, who was the artist for most of the 2003-2005 Pirates comics, as he is a big fan of the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. It is a very cool and unique comic that I am so happy is no longer lost media. Hope you enjoy reading it!

10/Pulptober/23 Roundup
OK, we're here on the 10th! The Character is The Grey Seal, the Theme is "Gone But Not Quite Forgotten", and we have two entries.
-@themailedfist-blog gives us some thoughts and art of the Character.
-@haldrada-art gives of an original art of The Reverend Doctor Syn, in his guise as The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, which fits the Theme.
