WIP origami dragon from the 1 meter square that has been in progress for the past month. Still need to do detail on the legs and maybe some other parts. But they're getting closer to being finished!!

Thinking of folding a number of items for a treasure hoard to display them with when I finish. Decided to start by making a dagger for today.

solas really did take about .3 seconds to come up with the idea of using his hollowed-out dead friend (his dead friend who he murdered (mostly accidentally I am willing to entertain (but STILL!!!!))) as a sockpuppet account specifically to scam his dead friend's bereaved protégé, huh. it does take a special kind of poor little meow meow to not only think of that but think of it with such record speed and go for it with such gusto, and that's why I love him. he really was like 'I am in blood step'd in so deep, I might as well pick up spiritual friend taxidermy while I'm at it, it isn't often you get to invent a whole new kind of sin to stain your hands with. I'll try anything once or even twice'. do I think he feels genuinely bad about it? yeah. does he just keep doing it anyway? you bet your ass he does! I know I have said this many times before but it just appears to me as a wonder anew every single time I contemplate it. there's something so deeply wrong with him (derogatory, affectionate, affectionately derogatory and derogatorily affectionate)

I forgot to post this but

I went to an arcade recently and there was a hookfang plush in the claw machine. I got it to a place where it was easy to grab but we had to go to laser tag. So I’m like “ok I’ll get him when we’re done”

as I’m waiting for them to call us into the room, I’m just looking at the claw machine, and someone comes by AND TAKES HOOKFANG AWAY FROM ME BEFORE MY VERY EYES. I WATCHED IN HORROR.

There were multiple httyd plushies in there and I didn’t get one :(

Realizing that the reason I really liked the first HTTYD movie as a kid wasn’t because of any normal reason it was because I wanted to be Toothless

I didn’t want to be the one befriending a “monster” I wanted to be the monster reluctantly trusting a human. I didn’t want to study this fascinating new creature I wanted to be the creature being studied who’s just in it for the food. it's actually sooo special that the jock mage abilities are called "antivan crow" because my little jock mage rook has always kinda relied on using his magic to like blast his opponents to throw them off and then just kinda stabs in with his mageknife while they're like. on fire or stunned by lightening in the face. And lucanis notices this and is like "has anyone ever told you that you have the worst technique Ive ever seen in someone who has managed to live this long" and teaches him how to fight like a crow

they have a relationship indescribable in any language but which definitely involves some 'recognition of the self through the other (derogatory)' that neither of them wants to look at too hard. I do so love the way rook takes his hand in that last one looks almost romantic. *falls to one knee* fen'harel the dread wolf solas chuckles etc.... would you please do me the honour of going straight to hell

(I do think a lot about how rook as a character is the product of two mentors (solas only counts as one even though he used a sockpuppet account lol), and how that interacts with the meaning of what they choose to do at the end. it truly is the cole custody battle round two going on in here. the deliciousness of having rook say'varric taught me well' while pulling such an OBVIOUSLY solas coded move... we love a mixed and murky and hard to define truth. we love from a certain point of view-ing something so emotionally fraught. is it well now he's dead and you killed the part of me that would have saved you with him, the metaphorical mirror of him literally placing the knife that will end him in your hands. is it old run of the mill hypocrisy. is it just the grief enduring, the personal loyalty remaining (as, indeed, solas' did for mythal for a long time). is it 'maybe you should have thought it through a bit more before you decided to reshape me so in your own image (asshole) remember what you did when someone important to you was killed?'. is it the understandable non-gambler's choice considering what's happened literally every other time someone has tried to talk solas down that rook has witnessed and the stakes of this game is: everything, it's time to stop playing around and break out the marked up deck this is not the hour to deal fairly with someone who isn't going to do either. it's genuinely open to interpretation and how triumphant vs. depressing you want to consider it to really be, and I think that's great to have as an option beside the more straightforwardly cathartic redeem or even the ('good'/high readiness version of the) fight ending)

i think hawke sibling joining the wardens makes the decision about anders' fate a lot more spicy for any non-radically pro-mage hawkes. like that guy did something you consider to be unacceptable and unjustifiable. he also saved your little sibling from inevitable terrifying death. they're alive because of him and they're your only family left. the city is in ruins and people demand blood. what should you do.

Ok I've had a long running joke with my flatmate that 'Tenedor' (meaning 'fork' in Spanish) would be a great name for a fantasy character, and while replaying Origins I've discovered that there is indeed a character called Fork in Dragon Age
