what an incredibly flattering question! i do not know what your tastes run to, but here are a few of my recentish favorites in no particular order. i think these are all m or e, as that tends to be what i go for. they're also properly adults, well out of hogwarts, and the stories are sort of mid length, over 10K, under 100K. make sure you read the tags!

Necro-romance by @thehoneybeet coming in hot!!!! i feel like this is a very very profoundly drarry story. we are fucked up in some of the same ways so let's do weird sex about it. dark, weird, very tender. incredible atmosphere. loved it!!!

In Every Universe by @skeptiquewrites this is like an AU hopping fic where draco is on the run for Reasons, and harry is chasing him. not with state violence in his heart. please come home. EXQUISITE worldbuilding, one of my favorite things about Tee's fics. This fic is so fun and there are also some really heartwrenching moments that i won't even come close to spoiling. god i love it it's so fucking good

Anatomy of a Wolf Heart this fic is orphaned but i actually do know the author very well (and love him with all my heart). this is an amazing draco. he's dealing with some significant trauma on top of what he went through in canon. all i'm gonna say is werewolf draco cinematic universe my beloved. i love this harry, too. compulsively doing the right thing even as it fucks his whole life up. yum.

Home Truths another @skeptiquewrites fic bc Tee's writing got me WEAK. i rlly love the ensemble here!!! harry and draco are both amazing characters whom i adore, but they are also surrounded by other characters who feel so real and so lived in. wonderful worldbuilding as per usual w this author. and. harry is a pro athlete at the peak of his career so uh. he do be inhabiting his physical form. it's sexy okay. damn. Tee has a talent for capturing Draco's drama and prissiness without making him feel like a caricature. i found this story genuinely inspiring for lots of reasons, and i can't say enough good things about it.

Preserving Lemons by @saintgarbanzo (this one is locked to the archive, so you'll need to be logged in to read it) god i love this story!!! food as a love language? gender magic? fucking YES PLEASE. it's nice to see them get out of the typical Stately Homes backdrop (i enjoy that too, but. well i'm not going to go off on a tangent about it now. variety is the spice of life!). lots of sensuality here and a heaping dollop of straight up fucking. i just love this depiction of them. i love draco's offers of vulnerability and harry's diving in face first. LOVE.

A Gift of True Esteem by ME! i am big enough to acknowledge that i write fucking good fic okay!!! hogwarts professors, chronic illness, historiography, gratuitous use of patronuses, fun world building in general. harry has been self-isolating a little bit. burying himself in his work. he has to let himself feel things again. joy, love, pleasure. draco makes him want to.

Names for a House this is also by me bc it's my fuckn list and i do what i want!!! harry is raising teddy lupin after andromeda gets sick (don't worry i do not kill off any old ladies in this fic). harry is also the wizarding world's first novelist. teddy lupin is a budding werewolf about to go off to hogwarts, and harry is not sure how to do right by him. FORTUNATELY harry's erstwhile nemesis and current cursebreaker is also a werewolf and teddy's cousin, and he's more than willing to help out.

this genuinely kept me awake a bit last night until I realised what was happening and stopped trying to recall every show that ever struck me right in the feels or shaped me lol and yes, I know no one asked for any reasoning behind it but when you've mulled it over all bloody day long, you feel like sharing :P

M*A*S*H - used to be on everyday at 7 and my mum had adored it when she was younger so brought me and my sister up on it, still makes me laugh and cry to this day.

Star Trek TNG (& Picard which might be cheating but really is just an extension all told) - loved all the Trek's, Honourable Mention goes to ToS because kid!me loved it so much, only to have TNG blow the roof off my head. Lt Cmdr Data was my first love and I am unashamed ;)

Red Dwarf - for many reasons but mainly Arnold Rimmer (more reliable than a garden Strimmer, he's never been mistaken for Yul Brynner - he's not bald and his head doesn't glimmer...) who my teenage self was certain could be redeemed with the power of love, or a very determined snogging if nowt else.

The Good Place - because I (and many of us) needed it as a concept, whether for personal growth, coping with grief or just cos 'forking shirtballs' never gets any less funnier for me.

Firefly - the best show to ever be cancelled before it's writer could ruin it. I adored the show and the ensuing film, mourned its early cancellation for YEARS until I heard about Whedon's general twattishness and what had been his intentions for the series and characters, now am happy it exists as it is, still problematic but so worthy in so many ways, and on that awkward note...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - problematic on 800 gazillion levels in this day and age but still a forerunner of many awesome things to follow and I'd be lying if I said I hadnt been glued to it, obsessed with it, shipping folks, dling the soundtrack, buying the jewelry etc and even now if I see a reaction vid on YT for S5 I can't help myself but watch and weep along with them.

Merlin (BBC) - Umm'd and Ahh'd over this for bloody ages lol but it was my happy place (literally, had a run of bad years as have we all, so I'd watch an ep before bed every night to make me smile) and it got me through the difficulties I had right up to the finale where they took me and my happy place out back and shot it in the face in front of me lol. Despite my escapism route being put down in those heinous raw weeks immediately following a parents funeral, I'm still listing it here for being wonderful, silly, heartening and heartbreaking, whilst giving every last Fuck You to the writers for their surprise, abruptly canon-compliant ending.

Stargate SG1 - daft sci fi with it's heart trying hard to be in the right place plus eminently shippable characters in almost every combo going? Yes, please.

Heroes - because I was OBSESSED. It picked me up out of my OTP in a diff fandom (sorry drarry, I still love you honest) drained me of any and all urge to write for anything but them ever again until it got shat on by its own writers, breaking the spell.

Brooklyn 99 - NINE-NINE. *sadly doffs cap to Captain Holt*

King of the Hill - from a show I used to avoid when I was younger to one I ration myself viewswise so it won't lose it's impact. Superb.

Schitts Creek - only watched due to encountering a clip on tumblr of Moira's stonefaced manaical laughter and ended up crying with happiness over the finale, am an easy crier sure, but not normally because something is just so lovely.

Cheers - was only a kid when it finished but I bawled my face off when Sam said 'sorry, we're closed' (was too young to know it'd be repeated ad infinitum lol) and the opening theme still feels like coming home.

Golden Girls - sole reason D+ gets any money from me, the bastards, it was my only access for a bit there but it was worth it, lightyears ahead of it's time and just wonderful to boot.

Parks & Rec - somewhere my sister is elated with no clue why. Took her years to talk me into it, but having watched it on repeat a few times, I now can't live without Leslie, Ben & Ron.

Other honourable mentions (sorry I know, longpost, my bad) go to Quantum Leap for being a daily delight growing up, What We Do in the Shadows which would have made the list but I've only just got around to watching it and am only on S3 so have yet to find out if it's going to rip my heart out, Eerie Indiana for getting me started hyperfixationwise, Caroline in the City (S1-S3... i love drarry and horror and this fic was masterful. it’s able to weave such a vividly eerie atmosphere with an incredible, ominous ending in only 3k words. skillfully concise and quick, it’s like a well placed gut punch in the best way possible.

i am a sucker for any fic involving de-aging/age difference between Harry and Draco, especially when it has a generous dose of pining. i absolutely loved younger draco in all his funny, sexy, teasing glory!

this one was a reread, but one i’ll never get tired of. universe hopping is always so so fun, and all the different versions of harry and draco were amazing.

messy drarry has such an exquisite flavour. their dynamic when it’s a little bit fucked up is just *chefs kiss* the energy of this fic is so wonderfully intense and i felt like i was buzzing the entire time i was reading it. and can we talk about that ending? brilliant!

The Day Before the Wedding by @kbrick | E | 39k

when i saw that kbrick dropped a new fic and that it was a timeloop fic, i pretty much dropped everything to read it. harry reliving the day before he gets married to ginny over and over is all at once spectacularly calamitous and cathartic. harry and draco both work for their growth in this one, and the timeloop aspect is done wonderfully, as per expected from kbrick!

this one was another reread and one that i’d consider one of my personal drarry classics, at least in the vampire genre. we have unhinged vampire harry who is bonded to draco to keep him on a leash, with a gloriously hot dynamic featuring a possessive and protective harry. i love how much these two cant help but want each other. a drarry vampire must-read.

i must admit that i went on a bit of a kbrick splurge this month but i couldn’t resist this one when i saw the demonic possession tag,, possessed harry has got to be one of the most creepy hot things i’ve read and i thoroughly enjoyed everything about it (as did draco 😳)

this fic has haunted my mind since i started reading it. voldemort courting sirius to be a death eater, and maybe even more was something i didn’t know i needed until i got it and then suddenly it was all i’ve ever wanted. this fic immersed me into a setting i don’t read too often—during the first war with voldemort. and we really get into the thick of it with sirius and all his different interactions. highly recommend!

HP Rec Fest, Day 13

I know there are many long fic lovers out there and they will be pleased with today’s prompt for @hprecfest! Unfortunately I don’t have the time or necessary focus to indulge long fics the way I used to; my sweet spot is either 3k or between 16k - 22k but every now and then I get that long fic itch and search for something to put me in the “zone”. I love the feeling of getting so damn invested, so intoxicated with a fic, I just can’t put it away and go to bed. I got a single rec for this fic sitting in my drafts for months now and I should really post it some time soon because I constantly think of how I lost my sleep over this fic. at some point there’s a parallel story but the Drarry arc (which is the main arc) is just phenomenal and hits all my boxes: accidentally voyeur Harry going from horny to curious to infatuated while Draco struggles to get over his not-quite-requited love for Blaise?? yes pls! I love how all characters are so human and flawed, the dramaH is chef’s kiss and the UST is out of this world, so lush and sensual and self-indulgent it got me salivating. oh there’s also a morning sex scene that got forever imprinted on my brain, you’ll know it when you see it. you’re welcome 🔥

back when this fic started posting I couldn’t care less for this ship but I had just finished RoA and was eager to read anything written by this author. ofc this story finally pulled me into this rare pair (one that I’m still very fond of) as I could not resist the beautiful and enthralling prose, the brilliant character development, the magnificent platonic slow burn. this is first and foremost a story about family and friendship; it is also a coming of age story and as such it touches upon difficult themes and complicated feelings, it explores loss and grief, loneliness and pain but also joy and love in all its forms. the fact that I couldn’t get enough of a T-rated 330k fic just proves how epic this story is!

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

-not really obsessed, but I'd have to say Nick/Maddie from PR: Mystic Force. I really liked their dynamic and tbh, it was that couple that introduced me to fanfics because I went googling for info on Melanie and Firass

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

-oh that's an easy one: Tommy/Kim. The moment I saw them on screen, I started shipping them before I even knew what shipping was. They were my OTP before I even knew what that was. Even at that young age, I was taken in by their chemistry, their understanding and acceptance of each other, the slow build up of their relationship...just...their everything. Honestly, it was because of this ship that i could not get into Disney fairytales because they did more to convince me of true love than any Disney movie ever did.

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

-Tommy/Kimberly. After I learned what fanfic was from searching Maddie/Nick...I stumbled upon a Tommy/Trini story and it didn't sit right with me lol. I kept thinking "Tommy and Kim are meant to be" and then I started writing a story about them. Took my weeks, after I'd written the first seven chapters, to work up my courage to actually post that first chapter.

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

-more than likely Nick and Maddie.

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

-uhm....I mean, not really? I've responded to one or two anon posts or even made a post or two about a ship but actual discourse? I usually have those discussions with my friend

-ha! Did I ever! And still do: Kataang, Klance, Hinny, McRolls, Tommy/Kat, Jason/Kim, Dramione, Romione.

-well, I'm currently reading three fanfics right now, so the couple in those are: Zutara, Tododeku, KinnPorsche

-ohh yeah: Tomberly, Drarry, Sheith, Zutara, KinnPorsche, Tododeku, DickKory, Geraskier

9. Is there any couple, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

-yes. I'm pissed they broke Kim and Tommy (rumor was, the letter wasn't even the original storyline but they did it because they wanted the fans to let go of Kimberly and accept Kat); Sheith (they had the best chemistry and the show kept drawing parallels between them and other couples on the show, including Keith's own parents); Zutara (they just made sense and I think Katara would've really blossomed even more because Zuko never would've stifled her or encourage to forego her own culture); Drarry (sure as shit, if one of them was female, it would've happen, so I don't see why it couldn't happen anyways. Plus, I feel they would've understood and balanced each other a lot better than their Canon couples).

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

-nope.

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now would be canceled over?

-i dont think so, no.

-hmmm...idk, equality, I guess. The way they understand each other, how they are each others safe space in a way, how they can be themselves (all facets of themselves, e.g., angry, happy, messy, etc.) with each other, the way they're different but also the same in some ways

15. What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

-a bully/victim dynamic that is labeled as enemies-to-lovers; when a miscommunication happens and the person immediately runs away/avoids the other without giving them a chance to explain, which leads into the miscommunication going on for more than 2-3 chapters (even worse when it's a 15 chapter story and the miscommunication happened in like ch 2 and you're on ch 12 and it...is...still...going on)

Was I just scrolling through @drarrymicrofic prompts and did Remedy from two and a half months ago catch my eye? Yes. Is this the tiny ridiculousness that popped into my brain and demanded to be let out? Again, yes. Is this what I should be doing right now? No, absolutely not, but here we are. Have 161 words of middle-aged married Drarry.

Draco is dying.

“I’m dying,” he announces to the empty room. “This is it. This is how it ends.”

“You’re fine,” yells a voice from the bedroom. “Fuck’s sake, you just have a cold.”

“I suffer,” Draco says mournfully, pulling the hand-knit blanket Molly had given them for their wedding up over his head. “I suffer more than any human being on the face of this earth or any other planet has ever suffered.”

He coughs, blindly reaches out from under the blanket to grab a tissue from the pile on the coffee table next to him, blows his nose with a resounding honk.

The blanket is yanked down, and he blinks up at Harry, who’s giving him that look, the one that’s a perfect blend of exasperation and affection. After twenty-five years of marriage, Draco’s pretty used to that look.

“Take your potion, soldier,” Harry says, tossing the bottle onto Draco’s chest. “I think you’ll live to fight another day.”

1,365,752 (wowsers, I am very verbose)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Mainly HP and Carry On, but I used to write in loads of other fandoms back in the days.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I usually do because I like thanking people for their kindness. Receiving a comment usually gives me a spark of joy, so I feel like replying is the least I can do. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with a particular fic, and I end up not replying, but I still read every single comment and cherish even the ones with an emoji.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I only write happy endings, sorry.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them? I've been told that some were sappy, but I genuinely can't say which are happier than others. For me they're all just as they should be.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Yes, sometimes. I used to get upset, but now I just reply with an a "write your own fic, then" or delete and move on.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Always and the emotional kind (hopefully).

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I have only written one, and I've deleted it from AO3. It was a snowbaz story set at Hogwarts, so an HP crossover. I had a lot of fun writing it!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Hopefully not!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, only once because I don't usually allow translations of my stories.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have for a fest, and also did it ages ago with friends for fun.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

This question is way too hard! Drarry and snowbaz. Don't make me choose because I can't.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have quite a few that are in the planning stage but are kind of languishing at the moment. I don't want to jinx it, but there's a very angsty malepreg drarry fic that I don't think I have the heart to write (I can't put them through that much drama) and the snowbaz where Baz writes fics, because someone told me it already exists and it has shitloads of kudos, which put me off the idea because my brain went "why bother?".

16. What are your writing strengths?

No idea. Feelings? I pour a lot of them into the mix and somehow people find some kind of resonance.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptions. I suck so much at describing places and things. Always have, and I do try to describe more, but I just forget to. I'm bad, I know...

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it, and it was a lot of fun.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Gosh, that was a million years ago. I want to say Lord of the Rings, but I am not sure.

I can't pick one, but I've got my favourite five here:

Broken (Snowbaz, 43K, rated E) - Lady Chatterley's Lover AU, so many feelings. There's star gazing and a Simon with a fever, plus Buckle the dog. Monster (Drarry, 71k, rated E) - my first collab with the wonderful @pato-roldnart. Such an amazing experience! Featuring Veela + werewolf Draco and an extremely touch-starved Harry. Chilly Feet (Drarry, 13k, rated E) - soulmates AU with soulmarks that are not there. Draco knows so many facts and is possibly a little bit on the spectrum in this one. He's one of my very favourite Dracos. On your skin (Snowbaz, 30k, rated E) - tattoo parlour/flowershop AU that I posted before My Rosebud Boy came out, so it felt very special. I love these Simon and Baz an awful lot. Graceless Heart (Drarry, 132k, rated E) - I've recently re-read it and decided that I really like it. I poured an awful lot of myself into this fic, and it still feels quite raw, but I like how it turned out.

Two years ago today, I got a message on Tumblr from @sitp-recs

I had come across her rec blog earlier that month and it had struck me how similar our tastes were. She seemed to feel the same way I did about fics, and she always managed to capture exactly what I loved about the fics she mentioned. I remember reblogging her TOBM rec with its brilliant banner and thinking, yes, this person gets it so profoundly.

Little did I know that in the following two years we'd end up staying up far too late/early chatting about fics, that we'd fall completely in love with the same fics (she recs Far From the Tree here), that she'd introduce me to countless new and brilliant authors and fics (like Polar Night). That we'd bond over our love for rare pairs, for short fics, and for watersports, and that i'd get my own rec that made me cry.

I love Liv's attitude to fandom - her eagerness to explore new stories and art, her vast knowledge of fics to fit every trope and theme, her mix of kindness and strong-mindedness, and her genuine desire to uplift creators and give readers the best fandom experience they can have (hello, beginner Drarry reclists!). The recent #LivLaughLove day showed just how well-loved she is around these here parts. And I treasure her friendship, her unwavering support, and how generous and loving she is.

Livvy, here's to many more years of friendship, endless gifs, dog pics, Drarry, and everything in between. I'm so lucky to have you, a horny dumbass looking to kiss as many people as possible. Lots of love from a mysterious and ethereal horny entity.

I started three separate fics for you and none of them worked out (horrid writer's block). Instead of stressing out, as I know you'd tell me off, I'll just offer a little snip of one of them. It involves Unspeakable Draco (and Harry's ex-auror partner) who can see visions... only his visions are inconveniently mostly of Harry either dying or having sex with Draco (and Teddy, and Sirius... basically all your favourite age gap ships babe!) I will finish it someday.

There was a smell to the air, Harry thought, that reminded him of that time in King’s Cross, or wherever it was. Almost sterile, almost nothing at all, but like it was covering something else up, something more ancient and electric and inexorable, like how the air sometimes smelled as one season tipped into another. Did time have a smell, he wondered? Or was that the scent of all the ways in which they tracked and measured and trapped time down here, doing who knows what to who knows when?

“Umm. Malfoy, please,” Harry said politely to the receptionist, who was sitting in the middle of the otherwise empty room at a magnificent black desk which was polished to an onyx, spilled-oil sheen. “Draco Malfoy?”

“Unfortunately,” the person intoned smoothly, features smoothed out into a careful blank so that Harry knew as soon as he left the room, he wouldn’t be able to pick the person out again if he passed them in the hallway, “we can neither confirm nor deny that we have any person of that name under our—”

“It’s alright, Maxwell.” Malfoy’s voice appeared to be coming out of nowhere, until he stepped out of what looked very like some sort of inter-dimensional portal in the centre of the room. “That’s Harry Potter, for goodness sake. I think he’s probably got clearance.”

Harry coughed uncomfortably. He had in fact got clearance, had engineered an entire case’s worth of paperwork just to get Robards to agree to an Unspeakable consult, actually. It was easier to just ask for things, these days. People rarely said no to him.

“Well, why didn’t you say?” Maxwell sounded chippy, and jabbed his wand at Harry aggressively. With a blink, Harry could finally see Maxwell, and the room, properly. The desk was much smaller, just an ordinary Ministry desk like the one Harry had just eaten a pumpkin pasty over before coming down here. Maxwell’s features coalesced from Unspeakable blank to his real face as Harry watched. He somehow managed to look pert and grumpy all at the same time, and as Harry looked at him, he blew a large bubble with whatever he was chewing, and let it pop. Where the portal had been was just a normal office door, and on it—Harry swallowed—was a plaque that read D. Malfoy. If he craned his neck, he could see a little slice of the room. There was Malfoy’s lopsided spider plant that he’d taken off the desk he used to share with Harry the day he left. There was Harry’s Cannons calendar, the one that used to have their weekly hours scribbled on it but now had been turned to the new month, a fresh blank.

“I must say,” Maxwell told Malfoy, blatantly ignoring Harry now, “he doesn’t look like he does in all the magazines.” His tone suggested that this wasn’t a compliment.

“Give over, Maxwell,” Malfoy told him, and then jerked his head viciously at Harry and disappeared back through his office door.

“I thought we agreed a clean break was needed,” Malfoy said wretchedly. His office was quite nice, actually, though looked far too cosy and Malfoy-ish to belong to this miserable-looking version of him who was standing on the rug with his knuckles white and controlled where his fingers clenched in the skirts of his uniform robes.

“You agreed,” Harry said, wondering when he’d start feeling like a grown up about this whole thing. “I never said anything at all.”

“Well, what are you doing here, then?” Malfoy spread his hands, walking to his desk and perching on the edge. It looked the very opposite of casual, and Malfoy knew it too, judging by the tension in his throat, the twist of his mouth.

“You don’t belong here,” he told Malfoy, and Maxwell called back through the door, “Yeah, that’s what Maur— I mean, Head Unspeakable of the Division of Temporal Research always says about him too,” and cackled mercilessly before Malfoy stalked over and kicked the door shut.

“Yes, thanks for that, Potter,” Malfoy said bitterly. He looked pale and tired, not like he’d been working hard, but like he wasn’t sleeping well. Harry hadn’t even known Aurors could move sideways like this, had heard the rumours whispered in the Aurors’ tearoom but which had almost certainly started higher up. Malfoy had called in a favour, Malfoy used his daddy’s bad name, Malfoy used his daddy’s money to get the new job. Malfoy certainly wasn't trained for this job, that much was true. They’d had optional Unspeakable training at the academy, of course, but Malfoy hadn’t taken any of the modules. Neither had Harry, who wasn’t even sure how Malfoy could possibly be qualified to work here, let alone get an office to himself with his name on the door. 

But that wasn’t what he meant when he thought about Malfoy not belonging here. It was just that Malfoy belonged in the field, with Harry. Yes, the work was brutal, and often boring, and sometimes horrifying and dangerous, but having Malfoy there—being part of a team—had made it worthwhile. Harry thought of him after a raid, sweating magic, uniform stuck to his wet back, blood on his teeth, sleeves rolled up, everything under control. That was where he belonged.

“I just came to see how you are,” Harry said. “I wish you’d come back.”

“You can’t just say that sort of thing,” Malfoy said miserably.

3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

I've written a lot this year so it was hard to pick but First day of work was definitely a fun experience, so this is a little snippet from that one:

Black's gaze remained on him, sharp, curious, dark. "You do realise you will be working directly under me? If you want to back out of your role in the company, please say so now."

James wanted to choke because yes, he remembered vividly what it was like to be under Sirius Black. Courtly, he nodded. "Yes, sir. I understand and I have no problems with keeping things professional."

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

All my WIPs. I don't have anything I wanted to write but didn't start, so they are lying dormant for the time being. I also haven’t posted any multi-chapter WIPs just because I like to know the story is finished before posting.

But let's mention a few:

Drarry de-ageing fic where Harry and Draco are in their 30s and together, but Draco reverts back to a pissed off 16-year-old who very much hates Potter. I started writing this last year but got sidetracked so uh...it will go on to next year.

Prongsfoot with Slytherin Sirius and Gryffindor James fic where they end up fake dating. Also started this story last year, and it will happily wait in the WIP folder for whenever I will get back to it.

Well I only have two, so a sign in the midnight sky (297) and my floorplan for Grimmauld Place (24)

Yes!! I try to respond to all the comments I get 💕 they always make my day

hahaha well it's not finished yet so I'll skip over this question!

6. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

like the above, ASITMS isn't finished yet so I don't have an answer haha, but I'll at least say that when it does end it'll probably be more happy than angsty (the angst ends will be for the rest of the series)

7. Do you write a cross-overs?

I haven't but I want to!!!!! I've got a HP Founders fic/Narnia crossover AU thing that's been sitting in my brain for ages and I definitely want to poke at one of these days (but I am trapped by ASITMS for the foreseeable future (i am okay with this i like it here))

nope! Everyone has been really lovely so far!!

Not in ASITMS, it's very firmly in it's T rating (and if I do boost its rating later it'll be for some uh. violence. i've got planned 👀) but later in the Shrines series there might be some, if I feel like it. I've never written smut before though so I think I'd be worried about the quality of it haha

oh gosh, I don't know. Like maybe a tie between Drarry and Wolfstar? I go back to drarry a lot, and I think a good chunk of my favourite fics to re-read are drarry

14. What's a WIP that you want to finish but think you never will?

ohhhh well I don't know that I'll never finish it, because I do intend to write it one day, but I've got a time travel tomarry sitting in my WIP folder gathering dust, and it'll probably stay there until ASITMS is done at the very least, if not the whole shrines series.

uhhh oh no... probably descriptions? I feel like I'm pretty good with atmospheric stuff and having characters interaction with their environment. Oh and worldbuilding, I do love worldbuilding. 😅

Dialogue. The absolute bane of my existence. I don't know how to talk in real life and I definitely don't know how to make a conversation sound normal. (Though I've been told I'm doing a decent job of it, so I guess hours of obsessive editing do pay off lmao)

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I mean, I don't mind it in fics (I do appreciate having a translation in the notes though) and if it feels appropriate, I'd definitely put a few lines in my own fic, but I don't think I'd put like... a whole conversation in a different language. If someone's having a conversation in a different language and it's really long I'm more likely to either just say they're talking (if the POV character doesn't understand the language) or write it in English but in italics (if the POV does understand).

18. What's the first fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter!

19. What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

I really really want to write a Dungeons & Dragon: Honor Among Thieves fic, for no other reason than I want to flex my forgotten realms knowledge somewhere other than my own campaigns 😂

20. What's your favourite fic that you've written?

Well it's a pretty easy answer when there's only one! a sign in the midnight sky. It's not only because it's my only one though, i'm really proud of the outline that I wrote (50k between two docs). The whole series is massive and honestly a bit of an insane project to take on, but there's so much time and research that went into it, and because it's 5 fics planned out from the very start there are threads I've already started laying down for the last fics and it's stupidly intricate, and I'm very excited to share the rest of it because I worked really hard on it!!!
