I watched some clips of Pippa and Kirsche. They're a pretty interesting duo. I drew a scene from one of their collabs and they retweeted it, so I decided I'd draw a pic for each of them as thanks.

I knew the compositions and style I wanted to do the image in immediately. The image gave me a chance to revisit Alphonse Mucha's works, and it was a fun study. I wish my eye sight and skills were better.

I had difficulty choosing whether or not I wanted to paint the main focus on the work, namely Kronk and Kirsche as that was the way Mucha did it, in a plainer manner with linework to create depth and shape. It would also help a lot if the backgrounds were to get too detailed. I made some compromise and decided to detail only bits and parts of them, such as with a bit of their clothes.

I still wonder if areas should have more patterns, but I realize that if I were to keep pushing this image, I'd never get done.

Pippa's piece comes next, but I'll balance working on her with work.

Hello! This ask is about the Asian dude riding the white horse in the 3D mv. A comment on Weverse said in Korea “riding the white horse” means having sec with a white woman. Your thoughts?

I'm yet to see this comment on Weverse but yes there's a crude Korean slang where "riding a white horse" means fucking a white woman. It's crude, dated, and not used often (least, far as I can tell). I know some fans are drawing a connection to the random placing of a kid on a white horse in the 3D MV to mean Jungkook is alluding to banging a white chick. And while that's possible, and could be a subliminal reference given the subject of the song, it's odd they'd place a child, or someone who looks like a child, and not Jungkook himself on the horse if that were the case.

Perhaps that makes it even more fucked up or perhaps that was a decision to give plausible deniability if anyone brought this up, if they indeed meant to place that subliminal, but it still feels.... odd.

The MV director is Drew Kirsch who isn't Korean, none of the senior producers are Korean, and 3D is the first major project he's done for a Korean artist, so I'm not even sure this is a reference they'd be familiar with tbh. Overall it's just a weird look and creates more questions than answers for an MV that's already simultaneously underwhelming and confusing.

Like I said to the other Anon, I don't care enough for the music to dig deeper into the MV. Whatever conclusion anyone reaches about the MV is fair game tbh.

Connie is a commoner born with a lot of energy. She loves to laugh and play physical games. It made sense that she manifested rubber magic because her parents would describe her as a child that bounced off the walls. Her parents were too burnt out to entertain Connie's constant need to play.

One day it reached a breaking point and her parents blew up at her, saying hurtful things. They called her annoying and wished she was born a normal girl. Connie ran away from home and broke down crying in the woods. Her cries drew the attention of a massive wild beast. She used her rubber magic to defend herself but was running low on mana. Before it could harm her, it was sliced up by Captain Jack. Jack was out hunting and thanked her for crying so loud so it was easier to track down his game. His Vice Captain Amiris wasn't too far behind him trying to get him to come back to work. Amiris was attentive to Connie and gave her the reassurance she needed to go back home. Connie apologized to her parents for running away and decided to focus her playful energy on training her magic. The same year she was awarded a grimoire was the same year she went for the Magic Knights Exam. She passed and chose the Green Mantises because she was starstruck by Captain Jack. Connie deeply admires Vice Captain Amiris who she refers to as "senpai" when not in a formal setting. Amiris and her older squadmate En treat her as if she were their younger sister and soothe her whenever she gets too overzealous. She spent a lot of time tormenting Sekke before he became the king's assistant. During the Royal Knight exam, she set her eyes on Luck Voltia as a new playmate. They hit it off and eventually realized they were more than friends.

Chapter Seven: Echoes in Rain Pt. 5

Envy, clearly having lost interest in the story, was much more interested in the soup more than anything at that point as they served themself up. Lust, on the other hand, was thoroughly disturbed by the story as Gluttony had stopped playing with the hideous umbrella and was confused by why Lust was so frightened after hearing the story. To Gluttony, that was a brilliant idea on how to get more people to eat, though he’d have to figure out a disguise that’d work first. The storm and the frantic searching parties outside of the apartment could be heard as lunch was being enjoyed by only two people. Dolly paused for a moment as she thought of something that would go well with the dish. “You know, this would go pretty well with the Kirsch I got as an offering. Could I go fetch it from next door?” Dolly asked as she placed her spoon down and got ready to leave her seat.

“Envy please let her get the kirsch.” Lust interjected before Envy could shoot down anything.

 “Fine, but if you’re not back here in three minutes, I’ll come after you and extend your punishment time.” Envy said with a bit of an annoyed hiss to their tone.

 Casually, Dolly got up from her spot and quickly made her way back to the apartment, leaving the homunculi to their own devices. Lust, wanting to get her mind on something that wasn’t that wretched little tale Dolly told, looked at Envy, ready to get right to business. “So, how are we getting the sacrificial offerings?” Lust asked immediately now that Dolly was out of the room. “I have an idea, we’ll just trick Pride into thinking they’re supply requests from our target. Pride is such a puppet and content with the country he ‘rules’ over with the pets, he wouldn’t question the requests. There’s no way we’d be able to get Dante to agree to this, she may go on the offensive if asked.” Envy said as they enjoyed the soup, Lust thinking over that proposed plan. “We should make our item requests believable then that they would be something our target would like.”  Lust reasoned as she thought over the plan a bit to see if that could work.

 “I’ll have to study the target a bit more thoroughly then once he’s back from the Armstrongs. Either that or I’ll pose as the target at the workplace and fabricate his likes.” Envy debated a bit before shrugging.

 As the homunculi drew out their plans on getting a better compensation plan for themselves, Dolly had been unlocking the door to the apartment, eager to get the kirsch to enjoy. The thunder continued to rumble as Dolly went into the apartment, but froze when she saw that a man with an x shaped scar on his face was sitting at the table, eating cereal he had raided from the cabinet. “...Cardboard really wasn’t the best option to cover up that broken window…” Dolly said in a bit of a shock, the man with the x shaped scar nodding in agreement having stopped midway eating his cereal.

 Three hours earlier before the shelter in place order had commenced, Alphonse had wandered into the alley to look at the cats there while Edward had gone into the bakery to pick up donuts to enjoy while visiting the dreaded colonel. The rain was readily ricocheting off the armored body of Alphonse as he heard an odd clapping sound coming from a fallen over garbage can. Carefully kneeling over, Alphonse looked into the garbage can, making his voice softer than it already was.

 “Here kitty, it's okay, it’s safe to come out.” Alphonse said gently as an odd red clay lion-like creature came forward inside of the garbage can.

“Well you’re a neat looking kitty, I’m Alphonse…I wonder what your name is..” Alphonse pondered as the little creature opened his hideous maul to answer.

“And you’re a neat looking kid, name’s Ernest.” Ernest answered smoothly, catching Alphonse off guard.

“You’re not made with humans by any chance?” Alphonse asked immediately upon hearing Ernest speak.

“Nah, no humans were used in making me, why?” Ernest responded in an nonchalant fashion.

 “Oh good, last time something spoke, it was made with a human and ended really badly afterwards.” Alphonse answered out of relief that he won’t relive that incident once again.

 “Well that’s messed up. Say, you wouldn’t happen to know of a place for me to stay in, do you?” Ernest asked, seeing as the rain wouldn't let up and put a bit of a pause on his full on escaping Central.

 “Oh! You must be freezing cold out in the rain, you may stay inside of my chest if you’d like?” Alphonse innocently said as he opened up his chest armor for Ernest to hide out in.

 “I don’t know, I wouldn’t want to impose..” Ernest teased a little bit to see what else could be offered.

“My brother is getting donuts right now and where we’re going is pretty warm.” Alphonse added in hopes of gaining Ernest’s interests.

“Donuts you say? Well say no more I’m fully sold.” Ernest ‘relented’ as he climbed inside of Alphonse’s chest to stay comfortable when the voice of Ed could be heard.

“Come on Alphonse, I got the donuts and I don’t want to deal with Colonel Mustang or his stupid face if we’re late!” Edward shouted into the alley, scaring off many of the other stray cats as he got pelted with more rain.

Closing the chest plate once Ernest was inside, Alphonse came running over to Edward, ready to head back to the Eastern Headquarters. The rain poured heavily as the thunder began to resound once more as the Elric Brothers and their passenger arrived at Headquarters, passing by the Fuhrer who looked oddly eager about something. Ernest shifted a bit to get comfortable and make plans on how to properly exit Central. There was a bit of guilt, a fleeting one, about tricking the kid into housing and feeding him, but Ernest mentally shrugged it off a bit. Ernest only needed to wait off the storm, hope the kid will be leaving town relatively soon, and look for an opportunity to leave, preferably in an area he could live off the grid. The Elric brothers entered the building, running late thanks to the storm right as the shelter in place order went live. Ernest was now inside in the Eastern Headquarters as the dread homunculus ruler had left his castle open to all sorts of horrible possibilities.
