I am a fiction girlie through and through, so let me hit you with some of my all-time favs (from all time periods of my life, teenager to now) - and let it be known that Red, White & Royal Blue is obviously at the very top, but I didn't feel I needed to rec it for this particular list haha:

The House Next Door by Richie Tankersley Cusick - I read this YA novel in my younger days, when I actually fell into the YA category, and it had everything: the twin telepathy connection, the paranormal, and romance. I need to reread it to rediscover it as an adult.

Major Crush by Jennifer Echols - I...am a band nerd. Born and raised a band nerd. And as a band nerd who had a massive crush on the drummajor of my high school marching band, it felt like this book was written exclusively as the author's gift to me. It features enemies to lovers under the umbrella of a high school marching band (and where there's smoke, there's fire...aka where there's enemies to lovers, there's a FirstPrince AU...coming - hopefully - to an AO3 near you in the summer of 2024)

The A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas - these books ripped me out of a too-long reading rut a few years back, and I owe them so much gratitude for doing so. I DEVOURED the series and found myself falling in love with reading for leisure again.

The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston - A romance author ghostwriter who can see and talk to actual ghosts. What more do you need?

This is but a taste of a few books that are currently swirling around in my head at this particular moment!

ive had so many stages of my life. they feel like different lifetimes. i did a pageant, ballet, gymnastics. then i did basketball, tennis, & swam, student council. then i found music, played piano, flute, & guitar. then i was interested in languages, french, latin, arabic, kiswahili. i feel like i carry these people with me and it still informs my passions today.

i think i was a cub in another lifetime.

and i found myself in leadership positions regardless of my desires but ig i am proud of the accomplishments behind it. i enjoyed being student body president & valedictorian in middle school. i enjoyed being drummajor my senior year in highschool. and its funny because ofc a white man had to be "drummajor" along with me while i actually performed as such. but i didnt object since the reasoning was that i was so quiet and i did not want the responsibility of being authorative lol. but honestly he wasnt authoritative either lmao. but he was better with people and more needed to balance the sound of the band.

Politics won’t save us, cooperative economics will. Emphasize community success over individual success.

Please read all of the legislation and incentives that have been passed (farm bill, infrastructure bill, chips bill, tech innovation hubs, inflation reduction act, clean energy initiatives, etc) and then realize that we can ride the wave to just transitioning in this new Green Industrial Revolution.

An economic environment that is the most promising ever in history to incubate businesses that can accellerate equity, economic empowerment and environmental sustainability currently exists!

Without knowledge of the detailed progress that has been made through legislation to make America once again economically viable, there is no way to engage in conversations about solutions to today’s problems.

Current legislation, if accessed for resources and information to develop safe and sustainable communities of the future, offers the greatest once in a lifetime chance to end health and wealth disparities while solving problems through ecosystem building and future proof social strategies.

Here’s some very rare footage of a totally awesome moment in drum corps (Drum Majors of Blue Devils bring the DM’s of Velvet Knights some friendly gifts)! 

This one is for anyone who has ever marched - Another fun moment between 2 California corps - the undefeated Champions of ‘82 (BD) and the always entertaining and out-there Velvet Knights. This definitely captures that feeling of camaraderie amongst the corps (in contrast to the super intense atmosphere of competition).
