Courage (Rantaro Amami x Ultimate Musician!G/N!Reader)

(This will be an AU where nobody dies except for the mastermind, and the characters and you are class 79 (cause I've seen people call the v3 cast class 79 when they do fanfics with all 3 game casts, and that they also attended Hope's Peak when they were taken and put in the killing game! Also I may have struggled in trying to figure out what to call this oneshot)

When you first met Rantaro, it was when you were seven years old.

You were listening to your favorite song (F/S) while reading a book about musical instruments when you heard a cry just as the song ended.

Looking up, you saw a boy around your age sitting on the sidewalk, holding his knee which you can see red in between his fingers.

And infront of him was another boy who was a little older than you.

Becoming angry, you closed your book and took your earbuds out before you got up and hurried over.

"You're such a cry baby!" One of the older boys said as he brought his fist up, only to feel a hand grab his wrist.

Looking over, he saw you with his wrist in a tight grip.

"What the heck? Get lost!" He exclaimed as he shoved you away, but you instantly got back up and punched him across the face, causing him to stumble away from you and the crying boy.

"How about you get lost!" You growled which scared the bully as he ran off, leaving you and the other boy alone.

Looking back, you saw that the hurt boy was looking at you with a look of admiration.

Now that that bully was gone, you noted the boy's appearance.

He had curly green hair, his eyes were the same green, he wore a blue short sleeved shirt and light brown shorts and a pair of slip on shoes.

And on his neck was a necklace with a crystal pendulum.

"You okay?" You asked him as you knelt down next to him.

He nodded a bit but then winced as he lifted his hand up off his knee.

His knee was scrapped quite a bit and it was bleeding.

"Here, my mom can help." You said as you held your hand out to him, which he accepted it.

Helping him up to his feet, you helped him up to the porch of your house and went inside for your mom to help with the wound.

And from there on then, you two became best friends.

You and Rantaro were basically inseparable!

Playing with eachother from morning to evening when you would have to go back home.

You even shared your joy for music with Rantaro who also shares his joy for traveling with you.

"Someday, I'm going to travel all over the world! Explore the unknown!" He said as you both were looking at books about the different countries.

"I know you can do it Rantaro, just don't forget about me when you do." You replied with a smile.

"Never, you're my best friend! And when I do travel, I want you to come with me."

This made you smile.

"Really?"

The green haired boy nodded.

"Yeah! And you can even play music to lots of people while we are traveling!"

That made you nervous.

Yes you loved music and loved to play guitar and sing but you couldn't bring yourself to play infront of others, let alone a crowd of people.

"I don't know Rantaro. I'm not that good."

"Yes, you are! You are amazing at singing and playing a whole lot of instruments! And I know others will agree with me." He argued back as he closed his book.

"So what if some people may not like your music, the only thing that matters is that you enjoy doing it. That it makes you happy."

Hearing that made you smile.

"Thanks Rantaro." You said as you gave him a hug.

"I promise to play you something someday."

Rantaro grinned.

"I'll be looking forward to it."

The two of you then spent the rest of the day together, thinking nothing could separate you two.

But unfortunately, that did happen, because Rantaro had to move.

You were sad to see him go but you both promised to send eachother letters and such until you both would see each other again.

And before he left, he gave you the crystal pendulum necklace that he wore so a part of him would always be with you, and whenever you perform, you will always remember what he told you.

And now your memories of that time were now forgotten thanks to the flashback light.

So now you wore a crystal pendulum you don't remember where you got it from around your neck.

You looked down at your guitar as you sat on the stage while Angie, Kirumi and Himiko prepared for the magic show that they decided to hold.

And before that would start, Rantaro, one of the students trapped with you, asked if you would play some music before the magic show.

You were going to decline, nervous about it, but everyone else wanted to hear you play, and you didn't want to make them upset so you decided you would.

"Hey Y/N, you okay?"

Looking up, you saw Rantaro giving you a look of concern.

"Yeah, just a bit nervous." You replied as he sat down next to you.

"Nervous? About what?"

You sighed as you set your guitar aside.

"What if you guys don't like my music, whenever I play, I am always scared about people judging me." You said as your hands shook a bit.

You then felt an arm wrap around you.

Rantaro pulled you towards him, rubbing your shoulder in a supportive matter.

"Hey, it will be alright. None of us will judge you. And I know you will do great."

This made you smile.

"Thanks."

The ultimate adventurer smiled back before standing up.

"Oh, and so what if some people may not like your music, the only thing that matters is that you enjoy doing it. That it makes you happy." He said before leaving.

Those words made you freeze.

You knew you heard them from somewhere, but you don't remember where.

When it was time for you to play, you were still super nervous, but remembering Rantaro's words, it gave you enough courage to play.

And when you were done, you were happy to see that the others enjoyed your performance.

Once you got off the stage, Rantaro pulled you into a hug.

"See, I told you. You did amazing!" He exclaimed.

"Thanks. What you told me earlier, it sounded so familiar. I don't know who I heard it from but I knew that it was important."

Rantaro smiled and hugged you again.

Then all of a sudden, the PA system went off.

"A body has been discovered! Everyone, please make your way to the library!"

This made everyone who was in the gym freeze.

Someone was killed?

Looking around, the only people who weren't present was Miu, Maki, Korekiyo and Tsumugi, everyone else has been in the gym the whole time.

"Come on, let's get to the library." Kaito said as everyone ran out of the gym.

You couldn't believe it, Tsumugi was the mastermind and almost killer of Miu.

She had tried to kill Miu with her monopad when she caught her coming out of the secret room in the library, and she tried to pin the murder on Maki by leaving one of the assassin's hairpins at the crimescene.

(Also pretend that everyone knows Maki's true talent)

But fortunately, Miu was only knocked out, surviving with a head injury that Kirumi treated before the trial, and Shuichi and Kaede noticed the little speckles of blood on Tsumugi's shoes, clearing Maki.

As the trial went on, you didn't know what to believe anymore.

Tsumugi, who you thought was your friend, had put everyone in this killing game and tried to kill one of you and frame another.

Then it quickly came to a close with her execution and you all receiving your memories of one another before coming to this hell hole from the flashback light that Monokuma gave you before being crushed with Tsumugi.

You all could only stand where you were in shock.

"So, it's over? We're free?" Himiko asked as she looked around at everyone else.

"It would seem so." Korekiyo replied.

And with that, you all left the area to head back to Miu and find a way out.

(Sorry for the multiple time skips lol)

It has been a few months since you and your classmates have been rescued from that prison by the future foundation and you all were back at Hope's Peak Academy where you all actually went to school as class 79 with two other classes, 78 and 77.

You also remembered your childhood with Rantaro and that he moved away, giving you the necklace that you were wearing now.

You both reunited with one another when you started attending Hope's Peak and later on in your first year, started dating.

Now as you both were watching a movie in his dorm room, Rantaro fell asleep which made you giggle.

It was thanks to him and his support that you became more comfortable with performing infront of people, you even perform sometimes with your friend Ibuki and even help teach Leon how to play guitar.

You still haven't forgotten about the promise you made to Rantaro years ago, so you were going to have to plan another date with him soon.

Adventurers and Spies (Rantaro Amami x Fem!Reader)

(For this its an au where Rantaro wasn't in a different killing game and he is the ultimate adventurer and remembers his ultimate as well as an au where they catch the mastermind before any killing start)

The first thing Y/N noticed was that it was dark, and the feeling of cool metal under her hands as she tried to figure out where she was.

"Hello?!" She called out as she slammed her fists on whatever she was trapped in.

"Anyone there?"

But no response.

'Fuck! Where am I?' She thought as she tried to look around for anything to help her get out.

But no luck unfortunately.

"Shit!" She growled as she hit the metal.

Then she heard something that gave her a hope of getting out.

"Hello?"

A voice, someone else was here with her.

"Hey! Can you help me please? I can't get out of here!" She replied, hoping that whoever was out there will help her.

"Yeah, hold on." The voice replied as she heard footsteps rush to where she was and after a moment, the thing she now realized was a locker door opened up, finally freeing her.

"Here, let me help you."

Looking at where the voice came from, she saw a guy around her age.

He has curly light green hair that hanged a bit infront of his ears and between his green eyes.

He wore a dark blue stripped sweater with wide sleeves that stopped at his elbows, a pair of light brown sarouel pants, and a pair of navy-blue slip-on shoes with white soles.

'He looks like a playboy. Like my ex...' Was the first thing Y/N thought as the guy helped her out of the locker.

"Thanks."

The guy nodded with a smile.

"Not a problem. I'm Rantaro Amami, the Ultimate Adventurer, nice to meet you."

Y/N looked at him for a moment before ]walking to the classroom door.

"Y/N L/N. Ultimate Baker." Was all she said before stepping out of the room.

She felt bad for lying about her talent, but she couldn't let anyone know what her talent actually was.

"Hey wait!" Rantaro call out as he hurried out of the classroom to catch up to her.

"What?" She asked with almost no emotions, causing Rantaro to wince at the irritation in her voice.

"I was hoping if we can look around the area together? I don't think it's good to be alone." He suggested.

Y/N only stared at him suspiciously before looking away.

"Fine."

Rantaro smiled.

"Thanks Y/N/N, and I promise, I'm not a bad guy. We can be friends, or maybe more as time goes on?" He said with a kind smile as well as giving her a small wink.

Y/N rolled her eyes and continued down the hall, Rantaro following behind.

What he didn't notice was that Y/N was lightly blushing from the nickname as well as his flirting.

'No... not again.' She thought to herself.

It's been about a week since Y/N met Rantaro as well as making friends with some if the others trapped there with them.

Now as she was talking with the others in the game room, she saw Rantaro slip out without anyone else noticing.

"I'll be right back." She said before leaving the room and following the green haired adventurer.

She saw him enter the library which confused her.

Why was he going to the library?

Opening the door, she saw him pulling one of the giant bookcases out and revealing a hidden door that was black and white, like Monokuma.

'No... Rantaro couldn't be the mastermind.' She thought as she slipped inside quietly.

Then she saw a flash coming from another bookshelf near Rantaro.

She noted that it also got his attention as he walked towards the source, the sound of the kill video blaring around the whole room.

But then she saw something come out of the vent above the bookshelves, she couldn't see what it was exactly but she knew it wasn't good.

She could faintly hear whatever it was getting closer and closer to Rantaro.

"Rantaro!" She yelled as she ran towards him, knocking him over and out of the way of whatever would have hit him.

"Y/N? Wha-" then a loud thud interrupted him.

Looking over, the two saw a shot put ball roll away on the ground, someone tried to kill Rantaro.

"Wait what? Where did that come from?" He muttered as the two stood up and looked up at the top of the book case.

Y/N then felt a chill run down her spine as she sensed someone sneaking up behind them.

Her hand instantly shot out behind her, grabbing the arm of whoever was behind them, causing them to yell in surprise.

Rantaro turned around and his face turned pale.

"Tsumugi?!"

"Rantaro go!" Y/N growled as Tsumugi clawed her face with her nails, causing her to lose her grip on the cosplayer, giving her the chance to tackle her to the ground and begin to beat her, intending on taking her life.

She tried to stay conscious, but from the injuries she just sustained, it was getting harder and harder to stay awake.

She could faintly hear the library door open and saw from the corner of her good eye to see Shuichi, Kaede, Kaito and Tenko entered, everyone else slowly started to arrive to see what was going on.

"What the hell!?" Kaito exclaimed as they saw Tsumugi pinning her to the ground, with the shot put ball in her hand about to bring it down on her head, while Rantaro struggled to keep her from doing so.

Gonta rushed over and pulled Tsumugi off easily, taking the shot put ball away and tossing it away from them.

"Y/N, stay awake." Kirumi said as she helped Y/N with her injuries while trying to keep her awake.

"Kaito, can you help me get Y/N to the dining hall? I am sure I can find some medical supplies in the warehouse.

The astronaut nodded, gently picking up Y/N before hurrying out of the library, Kirumi following behind.

Y/N's vision blurred as more blood started to trickle down her head, the loss of blood was getting to her.

"Hey, stay awake." Kaito's voice spoke faintly as everything went dark.

When Y/N finally woke up, the first thing she noticed was that she was in her dorm room, and a few voices spoke from the side.

"She lost quite a bit of blood, but she should be fine now."

Kirumi.

"Thank god..."

Rantaro.

"I'll leave you alone, let me know if you need anything."

And with that, she heard the door to the room close, and footsteps made their way towards her.

Slowly moving her head, she saw him kneel down next to the bed, his eyes red from crying, which surprised her.

He didn't seem like the one to cry.

"Rantaro?" She mumbled, causing him to smile as he took her hand in his.

"Hey, I'm here." He said as he squeezed her hand softly.

"Tsumugi... what happened with her?"

Rantaro's expression darkened, which scared her a bit.

"She... we have her locked up, she was the mastermind, so as long as we keep her locked out and destroy the devices that control monokuma and the monokubs, we're safe."

"So the killing game is not happening?"

Rantaro nodded, which made her sigh in relief.

"Oh and after what happened, I found your monopad. Y/N, I know your not the ultimate baker."

Y/N’s good eye widened.

"Rantaro... I'm sorry for lying, I..."

Rantaro pressed his lips to her cheek, silencing her as well as making her blush.

"I understand, you have your reasons why you can't. I'm not angry. I can never be angry at someone I really like."

Y/N was still blushing, but smiled.

She really liked him as well.

"I'll leave you alone to rest. I'll see you later." But as Rantaro got to the door, Y/N stopped him.

"Can you... can you stay?"

Looking back at her, Rantaro smiled.

"Of course." He softly replied as he went back over and laid down next to her, letting her head rest on his shoulder.

The two were glad to have met eachother and was able to avoid losing anyone to Tsumugi and her horrible killing game.
