Duel! Summoners’ Summit Act I

I’m busier lately and don’t have as much time as before, but I’ll try to keep up with events. I won’t be commenting a lot though unless something cool or interesting for me happens.

It’s good to come back to Mond, actually I think we’ll be visiting all regions and with a Fontaine reporter, it’s a good way to prepare for the new region. Good to see characters like Diona and Mona, it’s been a while.

Of course Kaeya is here! Not like anything important happens, but it’s good seeing him again.

Although it’s weird that we haven’t seen Diluc in a while. Obviously I want more scene about them and see how their relationship progresses. But ever since the wine event last... September I think it was? we haven’t seen him at all. Man, I wonder why they’re hidding him for so long.

I do find it funny that Kaeya’s opponent was Timmie lol. I still haven’t had the chance to battle him seriously with the TCG minigame. It’s been a while since I last played.

Also, is this the freaking book that Cyno is always taking about? 😂

Anyway I’m glad this wasn’t too long. Sometimes Genshin events go on forever with the cutscenes but this was short and sweet. I hope the next parts aren’t too long either.

Also also, it’s the first time we’ve seen these two bros together. They seem to be in a good relation, that’s great they’re so cute.

Hope the minigames are good, I’ll try them tomorrow.

Gonna be honest, it annoys me (in a casual, not-actually-annoyed, 'he does not say that' way) a tad bit when people write Kaeya INSISTING and verbally trying to convince people that he totally slacks off all the time; every time I can remember, when Paimon accuses him of doing as much, he gives a reassurance about how he's gotten all his work done, is doing something for Jean, is actually on business, wouldn't be here if he wasn't on top of work, delegated to xyz, etc.

He doesn't respond to those allegations by confirming them - at least not to someone who he wants to think highly of him. Maybe it's different when he's trying to bait criminals (we wouldn't know), but to the Traveler, to his coworkers, and very likely foreigners he'd be meeting professionally + common citizens, he denies it. Not aggressively or insistently, but he also doesn't... declare that he neglects his job??

If he ever has in front of us, it was an outlier. The closest I can think of, though, is the voiceline where he calls it comparatively unfun.

I haven’t finished the story of the card event yet, and I probably won’t be making more posts about it, but there was something that I liked going through it.

When I was little I enjoyed shows about toys or card games, like Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade, Bakugan and the like. And I feel nostalgic about them, there’s a certain beauty in solving conflicts using games instead of just throwing punches or magical attacks.

So even if the story of the event is not that interesting, in a way it makes me happy to see the characters just enjoying playing a TCG instead of fighting against each other like they did in the past, now everyone just enjoys an innocent game of cards.
