After talking to the adults that have a better feeling on how they need to handle their situation.

in the cobra kai of my dreams in which they let Miguel and Aisha have a villain arc during s2 they drop the romance stuff and have both of them be more involved and there's a lot more of them, tori and hawk hanging out and when Johnny tries to set him straight he just humors him, because (and this is explored a little bit in the show but not very) everything that Johnny's said up to that point contradicts what he's saying now so why WOULD Miguel not think this is just Johnny being soft about his son and being a little bit of an hypocrite instead of him having realized what he was teaching them was toxic all along?

A lot of the drama for Sam would actually her relationship with Aisha because she starts training on Miyagi-Do and sees this rivalry getting stronger between the dojos and she doesn't want to lose her best friend right after they've just reconciled and she's also jealous of her dynamic with Tori. I think it should be just like how when Robby and Miguel fight on the school it becomes very clear soon that they're fighting about Robby's dad and not really about Sam, with Tory and Sam acting like they're fighting about Miguel but actually fighting about Aisha < 3 gay

Aisha was already shown in s1 to also be on her way to a toxic path, I think they could've explored her feeling powerful and intoxicated by that with how she'd been bullied in the past in a similar way they do with Hawk. Also she's a lesbian but they wouldn't show that.

I think this would also make the school fight more interesting because instead of coming out of nowhere there'd have been a lot of tension between the dojos before it happens whereas they way it happens in canon, Miguel wasn't involved with all the cobra shit bullying AT ALL, and even though it really IS about both of them just fighting over Johnny the excuse of 'fighting over the samantha kiss' is pretty lame. And the accident and time with Johnny is what makes Miguel get that what Johnny taught them was wrong and he gets to be mad at him for a while and his dynamic with Hawk changes too because Hawk is still like in canon trying to 'avenge' him and getting more brutal because he's so mad at what they did to him and he's trying to pull him back from it but he GETS it, he was there as well, and he's actually had a full. realization. about it. whereas in canon the approach he has to try and convince Hawk is just 'well Johnny says this' and that won't work on Hawk. Also would be lovely if he tried to get Johnny to talk to Hawk, with Johnny predictably failing at being emotionally vulnerable talking to any student that's not Miguel.

I am unsure where Aisha would fall in the school fight, I could see it going both ways, with her going with Tori & Hawk or with her relationship with Sam being vital to her maybe coming back to the 'light' side... Aisha and Miguel were friends before she was friends with Hawk and Tori too... hmmmmm

Long comment coming your way:What's your opinion of the show's handling of Post-S2 Miguel and Tory's relationship? I feel like we never got a proper interaction or conversation with them outside their break up. Tory literally went insane over that kiss and really loved Miguel. It legit pisses me off the writers didn't lean into their dynamic post-breakup in S3-S6 without obviously leaving out any on-screen dialogue or just "yeah their cool now because Robby and Sam are present." NO! Where's the talks!? Miguel cares so much about Tory but I feel like he never gets to express that directly to her and It would've(since obviously S6P1 spoilers- she regressed and went back to Cobra Kai for plot reasons, lame twist btw) done so much for her but she's also guilty for not acknowledging her S3 craziness was all in Miguel's name similar to Hawk terrorizing Miyagi Do for Miguel after he broke his back. Season 4? No interaction. Season 5? No one on one. Season 6? Not even a glance or whimper between them.

TL;DR: Are you as upset or confused as I am with how the writers butchered the potential of Tory + Miguel's on-screen relationship?

I agree that the lack of communication between the two is really significant. But judged from my own experience with what being disabled and suffering an enormous health crisis does to your relationships, it makes sense.

Because it really shows you who your rocks are, deep down. And it's really no hate on the person who can't step up for you at that time. They're not bad people. They can step up for someone else. But for you two, they can't. It's too big.

And Tory is not Miguel's rock. Not really. Miguel says that he understands that she is really overtaxed. But she went completely silent, not even a note. Hawk was there before her. Sam was Miguel's ex and she was at his bedside.

It's hugely difficult being there for someone in a crisis. Johnny's a good example. No matter the love he feels for Robby, and I don't actually doubt there is love, but he couldn't step up for Robby in Juvie or anytime before. There is love there,but he doesn't have it in him for Robby. He can step up for Miguel. So it's not the gravity of the situation. It's the strength of the bond.

Tory loves Miguel, that's clear. But when put to the fire, that love isn't strong enough for her to be there for him for something this hard. And I mean that being there in a crisis is stupidly tough for a friend.

So Miguel knows she's not his emergency contact. It's good of him to simply keep his distance after that. It's strange that he did not urge anyone else to step up for her in S6. That Robby didn't, Amanda didn't, Sam didn't. But Tory and Miguel already know where they stand with each other.

When I was in and out of hospital for months, some colleagues I barely knew stepped up, some really old friends reached out, some current friends stood by me all the way, and some just... drifted. My relationship didn't last. Some good friends from uni? Not a word. They don't hate you. It's not strong enough to weather the storm between you, and with others it's far stronger than you could have known.

Miguel knows that Tory isn't that person for him. He's really mature about it and they can hang out together and have fun.

But Tory is not an emergency contact of his. Not everyone can be. And Sam - even though I think she'd be far happier romantically with Tory - Sam is. Johnny is. Johnny should never be Robby's emergency contact, but I do think Tory should be.

However, by not stepping up, Robby shouldn't be hers.

But he should be Kenny's.

See how that works differently between different people?

Clock it! Peyton and Tanner don’t have chemistry. None of the main couples do. But Tory and Robby scenes in particular give me secondhand embarrassment because they’re so forced. It’s like the writers just checked an AO3 tag and say “I’m gonna give them some sort of enemies to lovers” plot that doesn’t actually work or have substance whatsoever.

Tory and Robby are good in paper, but not in execution. There’s not legitimate reason why they’d like each other because the show never actually tells you or makes an effort to sell it. We as an audience are supposed to assume that their shitty upbringing is something they bond over but they never actually have a good conversation where it highlights that bond. Their Season 4 plot is cringe worthy because you can tell what the writers were trying to do but it doesn’t work. The prom scene in Season 4 is also funny to me in the sense that they’ve been trying to make Tory a whole female fatale and her relationship with Robby about this hot sexual tension as opposed to Sam and Miguel but it is so painful because there’s not natural chemistry so it ends up feeling like an awkward bad acted attempt at sex appeal. And I do believe their acting has gotten better as individuals. But their chemistry is still terrible. That’s why this attempt at giving them some “epic” ship moments just doesn’t work. It feels like they are trying to convince you of that narrative rather than being naturally executed.

And it’s not just a them problem. Sam and Miguel are textually okay, but bad at execution. I believe their Season 1 plot was okay. It was a believable conflict to have but after that - their conflict is awfully written to the point you just wish they weren’t together. From Season 2, it was all downhill from there because you can tell the writers mostly write for male audiences stuck in the original movies and not for women. The only scene I enjoyed with Sam and Miguel in recent seasons was their Season 4 break up but it feels like it lost the point when they got back together. They haven’t been terrible on Season 6, just utterly boring and lackluster. And similar to Tory and Robby, they aren’t believable or with enough natural chemistry to truly sell it.

And it’s very funny because even when Tory and Miguel & Sam and Robby were a thing and the plot dynamics were way more interesting on paper - the writers still managed to do a bad job. I feel like they’ve been wasting the cast natural chemistry or don’t know how to create that chemistry for their actors on romantic settings. But more than anything, I feel like the show would be better if it stopped trying to appeal to modern audiences by writing those terrible romance plots that not even the actors take seriously. You can tell neither of the actors are invested in the relationship aspect of their characters - and that’s partly the writers fault.

Omega!Reader is new to the valley and new to the dojo.

She's a little shy but she's super sweet and kind. She's always willing to learn new things, help train with other pack members. Always there for anyone who needs anything. She listens to anyone who needs a ear, a shoulder to cry on or even advice. The kind of omega that brings cookies to team meet-ups or makes sure everyone has a water bottle during practice.

Everyone really likes her and over time they start to appreciate her as an omega. Their all young alphas who have never had an omega in their pack before so all of it is new to them. When they start to have feeling for her things start to really change for all of them.

They don't really understand some of the emotions and instincts they are feeling. They want her praise even more than any other omega they know, wanting her to see them show off, see what they offer as prime alphas in the pack.

Reader notices how they are acting around her but she doesn't think much of it. She's just a random omega in their little group. She doesn't even know if they consider her a part of their pack in the first place.

All of them are so tight-knit when she comes into the picture. The minute she even comes into the dojo she knows that they are a pack, and they are all in a relationship as well.

To her it's not that strange to see such a large pack of alphas in a relationship, maybe it's a little weird that they don't have a single omega but she doesn't judge them on it.

She thinks it's cute and even romantic that they don't care about how others might see their relationship. They're all so sweet to each other, even if it's in weird aggressive alpha ways.

The alphas do all they can BUT tell her their feelings. They show off during training, flex her way when she is around and they even publicly wrestle each other in front of her to show their dominance.

Robby and Sam always offer her their snacks and drinks when they're on break. Demetri offers to help her with schoolwork after school and practice. Tory and Miguel offer to help her train if she is struggling with new techniques they are doing during lessons at the dojo. Hawk always offers her a ride on his motorcycle when she needs a ride somewhere.

They do all of this but it goes nowhere.

One day when they are all over at Hawk’s place, Robby is the one to speak up saying “You know, why don't we just ask Daniel and Johnny? Their in a pack with Amanda and their omega. They probably know something to try and help us figure out why Reader hasn't shown any kind of reaction to our advances.” all of them are just quiet for a few seconds.

They had never thought to ask one of the adults about pack dynamics.

something to consider

I LOVE LOVE LOVE:

the sam and miguel ship/dynamic because they both started out borderline defenseless and passive but they came from a safe home space where they didn't need to be aggressive, and over the course of the show grew into people who, because of how they started and were raised, are now protective and assertive and confident and make the first move to take care of the people they love so that they don't have to

AND

the robby and tory ship/dynamic because they both started out volatile and aggressive because that's how they had to be to survive their childhoods where they couldn't afford weakness, and over the course of the show they grew into people who are loving and compassionate with others and want to be peaceful, because that's not how it has to be anymore, and they're in a place to build up and keep safe the people that they love

Just random thoughts about s6 part 1:

How many times are we gonna see Daniel Larusso being conflicted and imbalanced by life, and people only for there to be a big life lesson that he "learns", and then ignore that same lesson all over again??

How is he only making mistakes with Johnny?

Didn't we see the whole sharing karate ideologies in seasons 4&5??

And why did we have to get Mr Miyagi involved 😭

I know people are excited, but I liked the image of Mr Miyagi I had.

I'd rather see at the final season a Daniel Larusso that has inner peace that resembles that of Mr Miyagi. Let him be a good sensei for one season, instead of one who is favoring his Miyagi-do students and is so insecure about Johnny.

Instead they could give all this screen time to Miguel who stood in the sidelines mostly.

The good things of the older folks:

Johnny accepting a job from Daniel was top tier, and I love that he's a good salesman.

The new Miyagi do logo!! Such a subtle little change that I loved!

Daniel being ready to let the name of the dojo go.

The gender reveal party!!! Baby Lawrence being a pain in Daniel's ass before she's even born was what I needed!

Johnny Lawrence felt more stable, happy and sure of himself than we've ever seen him this season.

He's good with his sons, he's good with the mother in law and the gf/baby mamma and he's gonna be a girl dad.

We can see that leaving behind eagle fang for Miyagi do isn't easy on Johnny.

We got to see him and Devon work together, and I loved having that dynamic back, him fixing Tory and Sam, and the exchange he had with Miguel and Robbie before they fought shows to me how much he wants to do right by both of them.

But Johny Lawrence isn't Miyagi do.

We spent half of season 2 watching him fixing cobra kai's philosophy. Then another season of him creating eagle fang and trying to teach these kids to be badass and honorable. He does strike first, but when it matters and after some consideration of the consequences (he still needs to work on it though).

Him leaving behind all this progress to just follow Miyagi do, and not mix the two seems like all this development goes to waste just like the time we spent on it.

And the show is called cobra kai, I'd love to see some redemption. I'd love to see Johny taking over once again and making it what it was supposed to be.

Turning back to season 1, Miguel and Johnny benefitted by the way of the fist. It just needed a bit of tweaking so they don't become the assholes they became at one point in time.

actually if i may be so bold, in some ways sam/tory makes me more [insert some kinda bites things feeling here] than lawrusso or cobra husbands, not because they don't all compliment each other wonderfully (as, for that matter, does danzen in my humble opinion) but because if you were gonna make an explicitly queer couple, it probably was never going to be legacy characters, it wasn't going to be the mendudeguys that the mendudeguys who are writing it are also writing it for, but if they were thinking about nextgen, really thinking

like the excellent casting of miguel diaz, off the back of daniel larusso being italian american right on the cusp of the time in which that was still considered something lesser and often mistaken (by people watching) for a latino lad, so taking that to the next step and actually saying who today would be that kid, where would he be from, what would he look like and it's obviously miguel diaz, spot on!

similarly maybe it should have been obvious to make sam and tory gay for each other if you were really trying to also appeal to the diverse youths that are seemingly being catered to via the younger contingent, and yeah it might (it would) lend more fuel to the fire of connecting that very deliberately lawrusso 2.0 dynamic to the OG dynamic, however they could have just presented it as-is, they didn't need to do anything to say that these things are Connected, we ship anyway, we ship with no text at times

As much as I understand the frustration from Robby fans (yes I’m clearly a fan of both Robby and Miguel hang on), Kiaz literally defeats any competition people be fighting about on Reddit. 😩 in every aspect!

The show may have failed Robby in some ways like with Johnny but his potential is obvious and why pit Miguel and Robby against each other just because people think one is better? Or don’t even consider the other. 💀 (this goes both ways).

Likeee Kiaz is such a kickass duo that can knock anyone out the water, so.. same with Samory! As a caption I once saw “‘Sam’s better. Tory’s better.’ Both can kick your ass, so it doesn’t really matter.”

I can see how the show needed them to be rivals, but. 🤭 EXACTLY!!

While Miggy and Robby haven’t had the same life I can seriously see some bonding going on like he could’ve had a whole ass conversation about Hector to Robby in Mexico and he could’ve spoken to Robby about Sam and maybe he would’ve opened up about Tory, and they would’ve spoken about their relationships with the girls alone for once- not just about a medal lol. Kiaz could’ve happened when they were single but no one has the guts with the weird family dynamic. 🤷🏽‍♀️
