I agree that there's absolutely nothing wrong with getting your ears pierced if you want too! I'm not a fan and instead of piercings I bought what I think are called ear cuffs? They look amazing and I think you'd like the way they look as well! There's very extravagant ones, but also simple ones. (And dragon ones) if anyone doesn't want their ears pierced but does want to wear some kind of ear jewelry without the annoyance of clip ons, these are really cool! Do you know if something like this has existed for a long time, or are they very recent?

Oh yeah, I've been around the Ren Faire circuit enough to know about ear cuffs. Not sure how old they are, though. Hold for Googling...

...okay so apparently a form of ear cuffs dates back at least to 2000 BC, then called a "kaffa?" I was NOT expecting that. And many different cultures worldwide have had traditional variants since then.

There was even a form popularized in 1930s-50s Hollywood, Marcel Boucher's "Earrite." Fascinating.

Soooo, first art post on this blog and I decided to challenge myself to a very special challenge - Homunculus Nightmare: The UnOfficial Reckoning

So, if you’re looking for something to do in quarantine I suggest trying out tumblr user @bogleech​ printable monster fighting game Homunculus Horror (Beat 31 Monsters and your prize is you can make your own Homunculus and give it the honor of being canon!).

You can also get a printed collector’s edition with 12 secret monsters which I have, and are partly responsible for this personal art challenge for me. I decided to draw 31 original Homunculi for fun, as due to copyright issues no fan-made Homunculus can be made into a pre-made card. You can find my own baby, Amplifouler, on the main page! Readmore has the text on each monster in case the quality is that bad.

1. Amplifouler - Slows your internet to a crawl

Fear: To be wrapped in tinfoil and placed on top of outdated technology 

2. Nose-Body - Makes you sick during weekends and holidays

Fear: To be served a bowl of hot soup

3. Footwary - Eats half of every pair of socks you own

Fear: To be stepped on by a wet sock

4. Cloathsome - Makes everything you wear become uncomfortable

Fear: To be pinned to a sweater found in a thriftstore

5. Switch-Way - Makes you get lost even with directions

Fear: To be seen in an off-limits area(You do not need to be there too)

6. Weak-Links - Gives you Salmonella when you least expect it

Fear: To be skewered on a full kebab with at least three other things on it

7. Spewage - Makes you fall down pits & holes

Fear: To get into a Subway or Train car

8. Lip-Sink - Causes leaks and other plumbing problems

Fear: To be mixed into homemade slime or jelly

9. De-Coffinated - Causes problems in your workplace and still gets paid more

Fear: To be attached to a folder and then filed away

10. Earritate - Scares you with loud noises and inner ear pain

Fear: To be added to the worst playlist or mixtape you can make...as a co-producer

11. Oculeer - Draws everyone’s attention to you when you do something embarrassing

Fear: To be spotted under a light in the dark

12. Screamsaver - Deletes important files and docs from your computers

Fear: To be part of a 250+ word essay. Bonus: You can defeat one Homunculus via Powerpoint

exhausted. big day. made a new friend (shamrock 'shammy' the orca, or sir seamair). rode a rollercoaster that gave me the feelings ive been searching for (but at what cost). learned about seaworld's history of orca caused injuries and deaths. formed a pet theory related to orca enrichment (message me and i'll send it to you). body aches. stressed over the pandemic and the fact we are not following pandemic safety procedures. feel nauseus and have to skip dinner. stomach still feels bad. what if im sick. what if i ruin the trip i dont think we should be having for everyone. i will have to rest on it. if i still feel bad in the morning i'll pretend im fine. i wore some makeup and my new blue opal hummingbird earrit. stressed over the fact that my family and those around me will always see me as a girl even if i tell them otherwise due to their own transphobia. have to get up tomorrow even though my body aches after each day and i barely have the chance to recover. we walked six miles today (considering mema's fitness watch is broken, probably more).

In the continuing ear saga, the inside of my ear hurt worryingly yesterday, which i had narrowed down to impending ear explosion, or i had improperly shielded the inside of my ear from the saline spray and inadvertently caused some ear irritation (earritation, if you will)

So last night and tonight I’ve been sporting the fashionable cotton in the ear look, and i just left the cotton in after spraying bc it helped the pain

But this has the unfortunate effect of making me believe i have headphones in and i keep playing videos and wondering why they’re so quiet
