Thank universe for giving birth to such a wonderful character, as well as his captivating actor. Thank everything for leading me to the ray of a star shining onto the earth that is him.

Even when I know he will never be there to make an appearance, even when I settle for the fact that he most likely will not be as important or influential as other characters or actors, even when I reached the somber conclusion that his journey has come to an end, I will always love him. And writing him is, I believe, is my way of keeping him alive, both as a character and as a person with legacy.

I hope every one of you who’s read my stories will find a piece of him in your heart—a paraíso.

Ah, Oblivion level scaling system, my beloathed. I love it when instead of feeling like I get stronger and stronger as I progress the game, I'm fighting for my life, wanting to tear my hair out. Honestly, so much of this game makes me realize how much Skyrim improved upon or added, even if they simplified certain things like the magic system. I still love Oblivion, but damn is it rough in certain areas.

i know this is Old Shit but with z-a incoming ive been looking back into xy stuff, and been reminded of a general complaint that happens with a lot of videogames, which is that they're too easy

but particularly with xy, those complaints are largely towards things that are... completely and entirely optional accessibility and extra features. so the complaints themselves seem to just boil down to 'i dont want the game to be easy for ANYONE, even if it doesnt affect me'. and other similar features that dont have anything to do with difficulty, such as the abundance of earlier gen pokemon

if poke-amie makes battling too easy for you, just dont use it. if super-training makes it too easy, just dont use it. if exp-share makes it too easy, just turn it off. if megas make it too easy, dont use them.

and since you enjoy putting in extra effort, if battles are too easy in general then fuckin. get pk3ds and make them harder yourself, thats what im doing. or do a nuzlocke or other similar challenge, theres Options

and if you still dont like the game at all, then dont play it.

these are completely optional features, YOU are choosing to use them and then whine about them existing. thats all on you bud

As someone who plays games to enjoy them and not to suffer, I really hope Silksong has a difficulty slider on the start screen like other games that can be notoriously difficult on their standard setting (Kingdom Hearts I am looking at you specifically, thank you for letting me choose my experience). I loved Hollow Knight so much but I could never finish it because it's just so ridiculously hard. When I posted on the steam community page about it, I just had a bunch of gamer dudebros yelling that I just had to "get good" and if it frustrated me so much I should just watch someone else play it, that if it were any easier it would "ruin the experience".

It was the players and not the developers, but like, how fucking toxic is that mentality? I was not aware that Hollow Knight was considered "the Dark Souls of platform games" when I bought it; it just looked like a really cool, atmospheric experience. The platforming challenges were satisfying to overcome, but as I got further in the boss fights just got unmanageable. A game that's designed exclusively for people who are already good at stupidly difficult games is incredibly inaccessible and it'd be a damn shame if the sequel didn't have the option to play on a lower difficulty for beginners.

I don't like walking into a boss fight, having absolutely no room to dodge, having minimal health, and barely doing enough damage to the boss. It gets to a point where it's not even fun fun. It's torture. Maybe some people like their games that way but I fucking don't, and I'll forever be sad that I'll likely never finish Hollow Knight because of that, lmao.
