Initially, we tested the operation in standard mode - video transmission with 1080p 60Hz resolution using a CAT6 cable 230 feet long. We had no complaints at all. The video was transmitted on the laptop monitor and the external monitor through the transmitter and receiver set without distortion and visible delays.

During the next test, we replaced the CAT6 cable with a CAT5e, which has a smaller cross-section (CAT6 is AWG23, CAT5e is AWG24). Although the difference in the diameter of these cables is 20%, the vendor claimed that the kit should transmit video to a distance of up to 130 feet when using CAT5e cable. Maybe he decided to play it safe. We started our tests with 190 feet.

The test result surprised us because everything worked flawlessly. We can assume that it's all about the claimed performance characteristics:

KFZ Halterung: Mischung aus EasyMount und Brodit

In den vergangen Wochen, habe ich das Thema “KFZ Halterung fürs iPhone 6 Plus” ziemlich intensiv behandelt und hab eigentlich für jeden Bereich eine Top-Lösung gefunden. Problem ist jetzt, dass diese Lösungen nicht kompatibel zu einander sind. So bin ich auf die Idee gekommen, die Sachen der letzten Wochen zu kombinieren. Aber mal alles der Reihe nach:

Vor einigen Tagen hab ich euch die EasyMount iPhone KFZ Halterung vorgestellt (http://ostermeier.net/wordpress/2014/12/iphone-halterung-easymount/). “Damals” hab ich die Variante verwenden, die an z.B. bereits vorhandenen Konsolen befestigt werden kann. Nachdem ich diese Variante einige Tage im praktischen Einsatz hatte, hat mir das System so gut gefallen, dass ich mich nun dazu entschieden habe, die “classic” Variante einzusetzen und meine alte Konsole dadurch zu ersetzen. Anderes als bei der ersten Version, wir bei dem Modell “classic” eine Metallhalterung zwischen zwei Teile des Armaturenbrett geklemmt. Bei mir sitzt somit die Halterung zwischen dem “Hartplastik” des Radios und dem weichen Teil rechts davon. Damit man das Metall gut reinbekommt, liegen dem Paket zwei kleine (rote) Keile bei, mit deren Hilfe den Spalt schon etwas weiten kann, damit dann die Metallhalterung leichter rein geht. Erst war ich etwas skeptisch, weil die Halterung nur gut einen Zentimeter in den Schlitz geschoben wird, aber bereits bei meinem ersten Test stellte sich heraus, dass die Klemmwirkung ausreichend ist und das EasyMount sehr fest sitzt. Auch wenn ich dann mein iPhone 6 Plus draufpacke, wackelt dort nichts und das Telefon bleibt stabil in seiner Lage. Wirklich top.

Ich habe momentan noch die KAVAJ Hülle im Einsatz (http://ostermeier.net/wordpress/2014/11/iphone-6-plus-cover-kavaj-tokyo-cognac/) und diese Hülle hat den Riesenvorteil, dass in eine der beiden Taschen auf der Rückseite einfach eines der Metallplättchen geschoben werden kann und schon hält das Telefon auf dem EasyMount.

Ich muss für die EasyMount einen absoluten “Kaufbefehl” aussprechen, weil sie für mich eine der besten, da sehr einfache, KFZ-Halterung derzeit auf dem Markt ist.
