Tutorial ( kind of ) on how I modded my 3dsXL to play rpgmaker 2000/2003 games,since all the guides I found are SUPER old....

⚠︎ ! I figured a lot of this out by playing around with my 3ds. I'm 99% sure there's a better way to do this. Feel free to reblog a better version based on this version. It's basically a prototype guide,aka please proceed with caution ! ⚠︎

what you need :

modded 3ds

homebrew launcher

FBI

easyrpg player for 3ds files ( both the 3dsx and cia file )

1. Insert sd card into computer

2. go into sd>3ds, then add 3dsx files within the 3ds folder.

3. while still in the 3ds folder, create a folder inside of that called easyrpg-player

4. insert sd card back into 3ds,open FBI and click into SD,then from there, you should see 3ds.cia

5. click into that ( I clicked delete and install but tbh I think it's better to just click install for this )

once easyrpg player is on your device ur like halfway there

Now download any games you want. I got mine from here

6. insert sd card back into computer

7. go into sd>3ds>easyrpg-player,and insert the files in there.

If they are rar files make sure to extract them by clicking extract as /"file name" or extract as folder depending on your computer

in case you're curious,some I used tested are

paranormal syndrome : loaded for the most part other than sprites

the gray garden : works fine but slightly laggy

watgbs : works fine but oomfs told me to make sure to save your game alot!! so yeah

mix ore : works great

yanderella : works great

last part !

insert sd card back into 3ds,open easyrpgmaker,click into games,easyrpg-player,and all your games should be there !

It's been 500000 years since ive posted any art here but would u BELIEVE me if i said im still chippin away at my fangame!! All these years later!!

I've more or less settled on it's engine being RPG Maker 2003 since it's lightweight enough to work flawlessly on my tiny surface pro but the downside is that only PC users could play it i think

But there's stuff like easyrpg app on mobile so that might not actually be a problem we'll see!!

I finally finished Embric of Wulfhammers Castle (well..aside from like maybe 2 side endings that got locked off) and so now I'm telling you that you should play it if you like Lesbian Sex Comedies made in rpgmaker 2003 about Duchesses who are not princesses (It's D&D inspired but don't hold that against it)

Installation is slightly confusing so I'm just copying the instructions from Itch

also if you're playing on Linux* (or possibly windows if you have font trouble) you'll probably need to run it through EasyRPG or the fonts will be unreadable and fuzzy like this:

but that's very easy to set up and can be found here (or possibly in the Software manager of your linux distro of choice):

anyway you should play it maybe, or not idk, I'm not your boss. there's maids if that sways your opinion at all

*forgot to say obv you'll need to run the installation through WINE and then run the game exe through EasyRPG, or find a portable copy somewhere to skip the installation step

You might be thinking... "what, but manonnikki was always on pc! you just play it on itch.io!" And you'd be right! But, browser games are not the most optimized way to play, and I felt that close to home when I played the game for the first time on my Linux laptop, which is 15 years old. The game suffered from slowdown quite often, so I decided: "i'm gonna port this game directly to linux so it's faster." I set out on this journey, and actually succeeded, and quite quickly at that! I had a working copy on my laptop, and it stayed at a locked 60 fps, thanks to local desktop optimizations!

Um, anyway, I did this back in December, and set up a Github Repo that hosted the files, being playable if you just put in your own EasyRPG player. However, after 3 months, I finally finished what I started and put the players into the game files and made the first PC release.

TL;DR: You can play this game on your 15 year old laptop too!! Also, if you know how to set it up, you can play it on anything else.

Platform and Troubleshooting

The game's engine only works for windows, but EasyRPG can used in it's place. May not be perfect. Instructions in the readme file.

Further troubleshooting instructions are in the readme file. Expect possible errors or the game never running at all, since RPG Maker 2000 is outdated software.

Do not edit, repost, or sell assets from the game without permission!!

Fanworks and videos of the content are allowed, but do not directly use assets from the game to make them. (YT Thumbnails are fine, but modifying the game to post or claim assets as your own is not.)

Some gameplay elements have been altered to make it a bit more accessible for those that are not into old-school RPG's! If changes some aspects of the game that some players find frustrating, such as random encounters. This mod focuses on QoL and does not add new events or story elements.

Features:

• Colors from DX! HUGE thanks to Pythagasaurus13, the creator of DX, for letting me use these. Note that some colors have been adjusted a bit, generally to make it easier to tell different characters apart. • Water tiles no longer have a "flashing" effect and the screen flashing effects of certain battle animations have been toned down. • No random encounters. All enemies appear as characters on the map now! (The only exceptions are Caravan's pocket dimension and the Debug Room.) • Skills that can only be learned from staying at a hotel will no longer unlock randomly. Instead, they are guaranteed to be unlocked as long as you meet their other requirements. • Several endings now allow you to enter the Dev Room: Betrayal End, Mad World End, Good Josuke End and the Unrest End. • Items show you how much HP/SP they restore.

• Hotels now show you how much their food/drinks restore and recover slightly more. • Tonio's special meals now guarantee a stat boosts and the game now tells you what stat has been boosted. Of course, he has to charge a bit more for such convenience. • XP gained from staying at hotels has been rebalanced. • Food (the type that can't be used in battle) will heal the K.O. status. Additionally, food at hotels now recovers a bit more. • Option to do a "fresh start" rather than a new game+. This is very similar to just starting a new game, but you keep your completion counts and special unlocks. • A whole bunch of bugfixes. (And maybe even some brand new bugs 🙃) • More small adjustments that are not listed here! Q&A Q: I already have a save file, can I use that? A: Yes! Just copy your save[number].lsd into the 7SU-R folder. But make sure to back up your original save just in case. Q: Does it work on EasyRPG? A: Yes! Q: I found a bug, eediot. A: DM it to me! I'll fix it. Don't be afraid to mention small graphical errors either. Q: I have a suggestion! A: DM it to me! But keep in mind: This mod does not aim to add new content and I do not want to change character dialogue. (Unless you believe something is mistranslated) Q: Can I still use the wiki? A: Most of the guides on the wiki will still work for 7SU-R, but a couple of details might be different.

Q: Are the Chaos Mode / Ballin' updates included? A: Yes, thanks to KKM's help, the mod is currently up to date with 2.6's Ballin' update. Q: Is the story any different? A: Nope! There are only some spelling errors and a couple of minor dialogue changes to reflect the QoL changes.

Q: The game is stuck in a tiny frame in the corner of the screen. A: If your screen is only in the corner then right click the application and then go to properties. Go to compatibility and then click Change High DPI setting. At the bottom it will say Override high DPI scaling behavior. Click the check box and make sure what's under it says application. Then restart the game.

Q: I have another issue... A: Check the FAQ on the 7th stand wiki.

How 2 download (Mobile, android)

Vgperson website has an English translated version available for download. Press the link and download the game file.

Once the file is downloaded, if you haven't, install easyRPG player (can be found in Playstore)

They have a video of how to run any game on their YouTube channel, but if you're unsure

* Make a new file in the easyrpg folder (Preferably named Games)

* Copy the downloaded .ZIP file into the game file

* Refresh EasyRPG app.

you're using easy3ds right? what is it you're struggling with exactly? i also had some trouble with it before, but it's a bit complicated to explain, so if you have discord i'd prefer chatting with you there so we can go over the details and compare our files more easily 👍

If you’re still trying to play DR Another on the deck, if memory serves since the first game is on an older version of RPGM, you’ll need to use RetroArch with EasyRPG and the RTP assets put in the folder.

How to run?

If you have the easyrpg version just hold F, it's missing the animation right now in the latest build I've actually released but :V

for the standard RPG maker version you'll have to wait until I manage to actually get the current build polished enough to release because there's stuff in there that's unfinished as shit and I'm inconsistent with actually working on it. It'll work the same, just will have an extra bit of animation.

I think you should play off its peak and easily accessible you can just look it up by googling off easyRPG and you can play it mobile (zone 3 may be a bit difficult due to a couple certain things but I did it and I played off on there)
