This year I discovered the power of print-on-demand stickers! So of course I made doofy Chinese art history ones. From left to right: a BRONZE trophy, a SONG-taur, and a KOI-tesan.

(or, to over-explain it: Zhou dynasty bronze vessels were often made to commemorate major events or given to leaders of vassal states, the Song dynasty centaur is modeled after the 五马图 painting, and the Tang dynasty court lady mermaid is modeled after 仕女图, and yes I know that koi is the Japanese term but it's hard to come up with a dumb pun guyz 😭)

I also made a bunch of GAYsian stickers (okay fine actually just queer Chinese-American stuff that is mostly for me, "Asian" is such a loaded term). One is a mooncake that I made because I was having feelings about how mooncakes often look similar on the outside but have so much diversity of filling (fewer and fewer mooncakes are properly labeled these days...) And the others are QUEERlin, because I wanted to draw qilin (mythical Chinese creatures of good luck) in pride flag colors. But yes, trying to bring more representation to work 👍

I find it weird how ppl will say for reasons that systems are fake is that multiple alters talk similar or have similar interests. Have u ever met siblings. They talk similar and have similar interests because they've spent years together ya dork, as systems start to get along more they're gonna start sharing more interests and speech patterns just like you with people you spend a lot of time with lol. Also they all share a life, they have to be able to act like each other to get by and seem "normal."

ok another wc fandom post sorry. why were people claiming things like “nightcloud isolated and infected breezepelts mind and told him his dad sucked and thats also abusive” (and dont get me wrong parental alienation IS abuse) when we dont actually see that in the book and its only implied in a guide book that already gets things wrong? but like also crowfeather was literally neglecting and berating his son anyways. iirc theres even a scene where he gets physical with him and its excused bc “well breezepaw is annoying!” but ppl get upset when you point that out bc hes still sad over his breakup ig. nightcloud cant really do parental alienation when crowfeather is already ignoring his son and treating him like shit when he isnt

okay sidebar from all the dracula but, like. working on the draft of Opus II so that maybe hopefully when Opus I gets published there will be a sequel Ready To Go and I don’t have to Leave People Hanging but the biggest thing I’ve been self-conscious about in both is, like. gods it’s so deeply stressful in original writing everything from scratch everything Is Yours to determine, like. “is this scene actually needed or is it arbitrary, did I write it for a reason or just to write it”, I’ve been catching up on my to-read list and reading a lot of really good things and I know those all had professional editing and are also all cream of the crop The Best Novels as well as, like. anything you do because you see the insides of it feels way messier and you read your own writing too much and everything has “wait oh my gods does this even have a point” vibes but just. truly weird to go from the experience of “every single thing here is professionally building a story” to “am I devoting an entire chapter to Kaltan public transit right now because this is actually adding something to Opus or am I devoting an entire chapter to Kaltan public transit right now because I had no idea what to write and my brain went ‘ummm the characters go here to do something and I guess maybe what if we take a detour to talk about the public transit that’s cool’”
