I LOVE HARLEY SO MUCH OKAY?? So more information about him and Marie having to leave eachother, basically one of Harley's coworkers followed him to learn about this 'incredible discovery' he was talking about, and they saw him with Marie, they came out and revealed themself, and Harley talked Marie down from straight up killing them to preserve her secret, unfortunately the consequence of that was that after Harley left she had to disappear so that the guy wouldn't actually be able to lead people to her. She left behind a singular egg [containing the twins] and a message to Harley apologising for having to leave him and explaining why she did, so he left for England again, sad and now saddled with this??? Egg??? He incubated it and woke up one day to these two lil goober babies!! [Technically already about 5 months old due to being in the egg and developing more before birth than a typical human baby, so they walked/spoke a LOT earlier than normal babies would]

I haven't decided if the twins meet Marie again but if they did Leo would LOVE his mum and Poppy would have COMPLICATED feelings around it

As it has been a difficult week with no cucuhalo, i would like to humbly request your Nacho hc's, I must find a way to cope... And Nacho with their little (probably paper plate) mask seems to be the perfect thing

theres speculation around the office that Nacho's gun is just a toy gun or that its like a really well painted nerf gun, but nobody can confirm or deny bc on one hand nachos a kid, on the other hand theyre cucuruchos kid so they wouldnt put it past him to give them a real gun, and also they cant get it away from them to check (its a real gun)

Nacho has their own special fed assignments to carry out in the office (unlike the ones on the clipboard they yoinked) which is usually just little stuff, but occasionally cucurucho will be like "hey go tell fred if he doesnt get this on my desk by friday ill use his skin as paper while i do it for him" and nacho will be like OKAY :D and go tell him, which usually is met with horror but cucurucho gets to giggle from his office while he watches through the window with popcorn

Nacho likes to dress up in many kinds of frilly outfits, most of them being white, but usually struggles because theyre a baby and theyre hard on their clothing. Oftentimes they dont pick up their feet yet and step all over the back of jeans or skirts they wear or get grass and dirt stains on their little white shoes or on their sleeves <3

They keep having to replace their mask bc they are just a baby and see it like ass their face, so when they eat oftentimes they initially try to eat through the mask's mouth which results in grilled cheese or peas or soda getting all over the mask. They insist on a new one every time, its very important!!!! Thats their face, they cant just walk around without their face!!!

I like to think nachos ears are real and alongside this they have a cute little bear tail that wags when theyre happy (if youve ever had a dog with a nub tail you know what i mean)

Nacho likes to go mirmirmir in cucus lap while he works at his desk, they are so very little and they are so very eepy they need their mid day nap with their papa bear its a requirement non negotiable (cucus doesnt mind bc thats his egg ofc but doesnt love how the workers tend to coo when they enter his office.... hes so big and scary and definitely not a good caring father)

This is semi cannon but i like to think Nachos like the addams family kids/nanny mcfee kids in those two movies and that they keep getting assigned different babysitters (usually bunny ones) and keep tormenting them and making them run away <3

He'd like to be remembered as a great mage and someone who was both badass and made many breakthroughs in magic and in breaking rules! Kind of like a rogue magician who escaped the law and was super sexy and cool. He's already thinking of cool titles he should have.

He likes ash yam sweet potatoes and brown rice with kwama eggs! Its a really simple dish his parents used to make on special occasions when they were able to afford shipments from morrowind. He doesnt get to eat if often because he doesnt have the recipe but Espira does and makes it for him

Hes good with kids! In his own way. Hes kind of like the weird vodka aunt only a man. Definitely the type to teach kids swear words and let them try to smoke a cigarette for fun. Absolute hedonist with no real ability to do things he doesn't want to do or stop himself from doing things he wants to do. Also pretty annoying and can be very grating on others in his constant needling for attention and action. Does not think of the future at all

He always bounces back and thinks very positively. Bad things happen to him all the time but he just kind of shrugs, does some coke and ignores it. Even when he gets killed and becomes a ghost he tries to make the best of the situation and never laments or bemoans his fate, except unless hes looking for attention and pity.

36. What is their sense of humor like? Give an example of a joke they would find humorous.

Can and will laugh at anything. Finds everything from deep fried memes funny to dead baby jokes and can be wildly insensitive at times, doesn't know when its inappropriate to laugh and doesn't really care. Laughing feels good! He hates being serious or thinking too hard about serious topics so hell just make jokes about it and laugh!

His friend Bud he knew since they were little! Both are in the punk scene but Buddy is more shy and reserved than Ciggy so hes always dragging him around. Ciggy has bright red hair and Bud has bright blue so people call them crest like the toothpaste.

To The Woman Whose Love is Unconditional

As I sit alone in this foreign room, I couldn’t help but think how things are so different from how they were couple of years ago. While change is good and usually for the best, the change that occurred to me on the third day of April 2018 is something that my mind can never and will never understand. 

September 11, 2019 would have been your 54th birthday here on earth and I know exactly how we would have celebrated it. I would take a day off from work, spend the day with you, buy you a bouquet of fresh flowers, eat out with the whole family or maybe we could have gone out of town or out of the country. But you decided on the 3rd day of April 2018 that you wanted to spend your birthday somewhere far more special than any place that I can afford to bring you – Happy Second Birthday in Heaven Ma. 

I wish I could tell you how I miss and want you back. How much the little girl inside of me, wants to feel the warmth of your mother’s love again and never let go. I would have given you the world ma, but for now, let me just tell the world how wonderful you are.

Is Vegan Popularity on the Rise? Analysis with Google Trends

Is it just me, or does the Vegan population seem to be exploding at a rapid rate right now? It seems like there are more and more Vegan options in the grocery store every time I visit. There must be much more demand for Vegan options if companies are increasing their Vegan offerings like this, right? Let's see if we can analyze this somehow. Google Trends is an interesting tool we can use to see if people are indeed getting more interested in Veganism. We search for the term "Vegan" in Google Trends and set the date to the longest we're allowed to, January 1st, 2004 til now, November 12th, 2019.

Google Trends for "Vegan" | January 2004 - November 2019 To read this graph is pretty easy. 100 refers to the most popular the term has ever been in Google searches. It looks like the peak time for Vegan searches was in July 2017. Right now the trend number is 99. We're almost at an all-time high! If we look at the line graph since the beginning, it's on a steady uphill climb overall. It definitely looks like Vegan searching is on the long-term rise. It's logical to assume that the Vegan population is growing, which is leading to an increase in Vegan search terms.

Estimated Vegan Population at 6% in the United States (2019)

According to a recent article from veganbits.com (updated on October 27th, 2019) it's estimated that 6% of the United States population is Vegan. This is an enormous increase from a previous study in 2016 where only 0.5% of the United States population was estimated to be Vegan. Now we can see why Vegan products are getting more and more shelf space. The Vegan population is indeed growing, and it's growing exponentially!

Why Is Vegan Popularity on the Rise?

More studies, documentaries, and books are coming out all the time about how beneficial a plant-based diet is. The three main reasons people are turning to a plant-based diet are for the environment, for health benefits, and for the animals.

For the Environment This article from the Oxford Academic states that Veganism has the lowest carbon footprint of every major diet. Vegan is the lowest at rating 1, then vegetarian 1.1, and pescatarian 1.9. The highest footprint ratings were omnivore 2.3, paleo 2.8, and keto was the highest of all at 4.2. Animal agriculture is not sustainable. It takes too much land to grow crops to feed all of the livestock. It's also a leading cause of global warming from the high amounts of nitrous oxide, methane, and carbon dioxide it produces. 26% of the Earth's land is used for grazing livestock, while another 33% of the land is used to grow livestock feed (source: OneGreenPlanet). That means almost 60% of all of the Earth's land is used for animal agriculture. That's too much! It's not sustainable. Rainforests are being burned back everyday to make more land for animal agriculture. Rainforests are climate regulators, and we need them more than ever right now! This quote from NationalGeographic explains the impact of losing rainforests: "Rainforest loss is a double-whammy for the climate: It contributes emissions while removing a future potential source of carbon storage." There is an eye-opening article published in August 2019 from npr.org - To Slow Global Warming, U.N. Warns Agriculture Must Change. It explains that we need to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half within the next decade to avoid irreversible impacts on some ecosystems. In the article there is a quote explaining how the significance of reducing meat consumption would affect us: "The World Resource Institute estimates that if people in the U.S. and other heavy meat-eating countries reduced their consumption of beef (and other meat from ruminants) to about 1.5 burgers per person, per week, it would nearly eliminate the need for additional agricultural expansion (and associated deforestation), even in a world with 10 billion people. Check out "Cowspiracy" if you haven't seen it yet. It could very well blow your mind! More people are becoming aware of the negative effects of animal agriculture on our beloved Earth, thus leading to an increase of the Vegan population. For Health Benefits According to this clinical trial study where participants switched to a plant-based diet consisting of raw fruits, vegetables, seeds, and avocados for 4 weeks, they noticed drastic improvements in their overall health. The study led to this conclusion: "A defined plant‐based diet can be used as an effective therapeutic approach in the clinical setting in the treatment of HTN, hypercholesterolemia, and other cardiovascular risk factors while simultaneously reducing overall medication usage. Patients may find this therapeutic approach preferable to conventional and costly drug therapy. Further replication trials are needed with larger sample sizes, control groups, and other dietary comparison groups."

Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) Diet Foods What about the Keto diet, it's healthy right? The Keto diet is super popular these days. People seem to be able to lose weight at a rapid pace with the Keto diet. This diet is low on carbohydrates and high on fats and proteins. A person on a Keto diet eats mostly meat and dairy, limiting fruits and vegetables, while eliminating grains. In the short-term this diet can lead to weight-loss, but in the long term this diet is putting massive damage on the body. Animal-based products contain high amounts of LDL cholesterol (saturated fats) which have been shown to increase plaque in arteries leading to heart disease. They've also been linked to increase risk of diabetes and cancers. Since someone on the Keto diet eats animal products as their main food source, they're adding dangerous amounts of bad cholesterol (LDL / saturated fats). If this person keeps up this diet for the long term, the results could be tragic due to much higher increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

The long-term effects of a Keto animal-based diet could be devastating Is any Vegan diet healthy? No! Junk-food that doesn't contain animal-products is still detrimental to a human's health because it often contains trans-fats, which are another form of LDL cholesterol. Trans-fats are even considered worse than saturated fats from animal products (animal products contain small amounts of trans-fats also!) because they lower good cholesterol called HDL, while raising bad cholesterol. Imagine how much damage you're doing to your body if you're regularly consuming animal-products AND junk-food. Heart.org says that trans-fats can be found in many fried foods, like doughnuts. They're also found in many baked goods including cakes, pie crusts, frozen pizza, cookies, crackers, and many types of hard margarine. Look for "0 g trans fat" and no hydrogenated oils on ingredient lists of food labels to limit your trans-fats! A plant-based diet can be very healthy though if the diet is fairly balanced, and trans-fats are avoided or limited. Someone who eats a healthy plant-based diet can reverse previous damage done to their bodies and even cure existing ailments, as shown in this clinical trial. For the Animals Definition of Veganism: Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. It's obvious that animals are killed in order to provide meat. What's not so obvious to many people are the brutally tragic conditions that farm animals must endure through their lives to provide humans with meat and by-products like milk and eggs. We're led to believe that animals are free-range and live a good life before they are humanely killed. It's simply not the case. Humane slaughter is an oxymoron. It doesn't make sense. Even if an animal doesn't feel pain when murdered, it's not humane. Humane is defined as: "marked by compassion, sympathy, or consideration for humans or animals". Killing an animal when it's not necessary is NOT humane. It's not being compassionate, sympathetic, or considerate to the animals. Just think about it, would you want to be humanely killed, or would you rather live? These animals want to live. No matter how people try to justify animal slaughter, it is not humane. There are many graphic videos you can watch to see how bad the conditions are for farm animals, who have feelings just like you and me. Check out Dominion and/or Earthlings if you want to see how farm animals are treated. It is truly sad and disgusting how they're enslaved, with babies stolen from mothers, and their lives are cut short when they're murdered. The truth is that no animal deserves to be killed, when it's unnecessary. We don't need to consume their products to survive and even thrive. We are healthier WITHOUT eating animal products. Any nutrient we are missing from not consuming animal products can easily be supplemented, or is in Vegan fortified products, like Vegan milks for example. Take a daily multivitamin and don't worry about it! More people are becoming aware that it's not necessary to consume animal products, and that's a key factor as to why the Vegan population is growing. My favorite film right now is a newly released one called "The Game Changers". It's an excellent fun-watch documentary showcasing athletes who eat plant-based diets. Day in the Life (Almost 2.9 Years Old)

Good morning!

So, I missed our Day in the Life post for last month (oops, again), so I figured I would write next month’s post a little early with another mid-month post to make up for it. I also wanted to make sure that I got in this month’s post because it marks such a significant age for our little guy. Our sweet boy turns 2.9 years old next week, which, in the school/daycare world, is a big, important age because it means Qman is old enough for preschool! (Where did my baby go!?) Just this week, his teachers let us know that he’ll start to transition to preschool, splitting time there and in his current toddler classroom. There are two other kids in his class, who are moving to preschool too, so, hopefully, having some buddies will help with the transition. Anyway, here’s a recap from a day in our life earlier this week!

4:01 AM: I wake up drenched in sweat (ugh, annoying), so I get out of bed and change my clothes. I climb back into bed.

4:21 AM: My mind is wandering to my To Do list for the day as well as random things like whether or not baby carrots will freeze well since we have a big bag in the fridge, and I don’t think we’ll eat them all. (Have I mentioned I have an obsession with wasting food!?) I eventually give up on sleep, find my slippers, and head downstairs.

4:23 AM: I break out my laptop, answer a few emails, approve and reply to comments on my blog and social media.

4:45 AM: I pour myself a half glass of iced coffee mixed with Dandy Blend, collagen, and coconut creamer. I read an interesting article about giving up coffee and how it can help improve your skin. Obviously, I have zero interest in giving up my beloved iced coffee, but I figured cutting back would probably help. At home, I typically drink 2-3 glasses of iced coffee per day, so now I’m drinking a 1/2 to 1 glass with Dandy Blend mixed in. It tastes similar to coffee without the caffeine or acidity, and, bonus, dandelion and roasted chicory root are actually really good for you!

4:46 AM: I get to work – busy week ahead!

5:20 AM: Mal comes downstairs, says good morning, and starts to make his breakfast.

5:30 AM: We hear Quinn wake up. He’s whining/crying. We give him a few minutes to settle himself down, but he’s just getting more and more upset. Mal heads upstairs to try to calm him down. (If I go into his room at this hour, he will for sure want to get up and start the day.) I finish making Mal’s breakfast for him.

5:39 AM: Mal doesn’t have any luck with Qman. They come downstairs and head into the living room. I stop working and follow them in, thinking I can score some early-morning toddler cuddles.

5:40 AM: Mal doesn’t turn on the lights in the living room and he’s whispering “lay down” to Quinn, so I assume they worked out some sort of deal that he’ll go back to sleep on the couch. (Qman likes being “downstairs” once he hears that we’re up for the day.)

5:42 AM: All is quiet in the living room, so Mal comes back into the kitchen to eat his breakfast, and I start to work again.

6:00 AM: Quinn starts crying. “Nap time” is over. He wants to watch a show, so I grab my iced coffee and snuggle with him on the couch. We watch Octonauts.

6:19 AM: Quinn asks for a “bar, please,” which has become a morning ritual. He loves cereal bars and would eat them day and night if we let him. I know they have a lot of sugar, but he’s such a picky eater, we’re just happy he’s eating at all, and they’re not ALL bad. The PB& J Bars (gluten-free) as well as the Fig Cereal Bars from Trader Joe’s are actually semi-decent in the sugar department (11g, 13g) compared to other cereal bars, even the ones at Whole Foods (17-19g).

6:22 AM: Qman is content eating his bar and watching TV, so I head upstairs to quickly get ready for the day.

6:35 AM: We say goodbye to Dada.

6:44 AM: I make Quinn and me breakfast. He has mini pancakes, mango, Greek yogurt, and milk for breakfast. I eat scrambled eggs and roasted sweet potatoes. Quinn eats three bites of yogurt and one pancake and says he’s all done. Well, ok then. He starts playing with his cars, so I finish my breakfast and then get him ready for the day.

7:00 AM: Murphy’s all out of dog treats, so Quinn and I make him a batch!

7:45 AM: I pop the dog treats in the oven and clean up the kitchen.

8:00 AM: I offer Quinn his breakfast again. He eats a couple more pancakes, a few more bites of yogurt, and finishes his milk. Woohoo!

8:15 AM: Time for our bi-weekly Early Intervention session. Things are wrapping up with his services (he’s made great strides and probably won’t qualify for another year), so we chat, fill out paperwork, and play LEGOS.

9:30 AM: EI ends. I’m pretty hungry, so I whip up a snack: Apple chunks nuked in microwave with cinnamon on top.

9:39 AM: The doorbell rings, Murphy goes ballistic (the doorbell is his nemesis), and a special delivery arrives from my friends at General Mills...  just in time for National Cereal Day!

Inside the package is a personalized Carrots ‘N’ Cake spoon.

10:25 AM: Qman tells me that he wants to “go in the car.” Well, ok then! I suggest a few places to go, and he ultimately decides on the “cows,” but immediately clarifies what he really wants to see and says “cat.”

10:42 AM: We arrive at Hornstra Farm and, as soon as I park the car, Quinn’s cat friend approaches us. We follow him around the farm for a solid 20 minutes before briefly stopping to see the cows.

11:06 AM: We head inside the farm store. We shop around for a little bit and ultimately decide to buy some Coffee Toffee ice cream. Great choice, Quinn!

11:10 AM: We leave the store and look for Quinn’s cat friend to say goodbye, but he’s nowhere to be found.

11:30 AM: We arrive home. I make us lunch.

12:15 PM: We finish eating lunch. Qman plays while I clean up.

12:45 PM: Nap time for Quinn.

1:00 PM: Workout time for Mumma!

Wearing: Reebok Nano 7.0 <— super cute, right?

1:30 PM: I take a quick shower, get dressed, and then get to work.

2:45 PM: I’m starting to get hungry, so I break out an RXBAR. Delicious!

3:30 PM: The UPS guy rings our doorbell, Murphy goes ballistic, and wakes up Quinn. Ughhhh. I used to put a note on the front door asking delivery people not to ring the doorbell during nap time, but no one has rung it in ages, so I just stopped doing it. I guess we got a new doorbell-happy UPS man? Blah. #momfail.

3:33 PM: I wait a few minutes to see if Quinn will settle himself down, but he’s getting more and more upset, so I head upstairs to his bedroom. He’s really sad, so I bring him downstairs to the living room. We cuddle on the couch for quite awhile. I keep thinking he’s asleep, but every time I look down at him, his eyes are open. Ha!

3:53 PM: Qman is (suddenly) finished with cuddle time, so he slides off the couch and (literally) runs into his playroom. Such a goof. Apparently, he really wanted to play with his cars at that very moment! Haha!

3:59 PM: Mal arrives home. We catch up and then decide to take a family walk since it’s such a nice day.

4:15 PM: Family walk!

4:55 PM: We arrive home after our walk. The (human) boys add some air to the tires on our jogging stroller while Murphy and I head upstairs for dinner.

4:58 PM: Dinnertime for Murphy!

6:07 PM: Dinnertime for the humans!

6:45 PM: We finish eating dinner. Mal and I tag team the cleaning in the kitchen and then we all have some ice cream for dessert!

7:00 PM: We watch a TV show with Quinn.

7:25 PM: Time to get Quinn ready for bed. Mal takes over pajamas, teeth, and books while I do a little work in my office. I check for “sugar bugs” after Quinn brushes his teeth and then join them for Qman’s favorite book of the moment.

7:55 PM: Bedtime for Quinn.

8:00 PM: Usually, Mal and I watch TV after we put Quinn to bed, but we’re both exhausted, so we get ready for bed ourselves, read for maybe 15 minutes, and then go to sleep.

8:30 PM: Lights out.
